Endowed with more and more functionality. However, no matter how functional the communicator is, the whole raspberry can be ruined by one nuance - short operating time without recharging. The rating of phones based on operating time, which brings together the most powerful devices in this regard, will be of particular interest to those who often travel.

Phone with a high-capacity battery

The specifications of smartphones and phones do not always indicate a time frame, but there is always a “battery capacity” item, which largely determines how long the device will live on a single charge. Judging by this indicator, the rating of phones by operating time will look like this:

The gadgets showed such results provided they were used for an hour a day for calls, an hour for web surfing and an hour for watching videos.

Phone with maximum call time

Another composition has ten leaders of the same telephone rating in terms of operating time, if the main type of “activity” is calls:

2. Huawei Ascend Mate2 4G – 33+ hours.

10. Samsung Galaxy S6 active – 26+ hours.

From the very first list of phones with a powerful battery, you can add the THL 5000 (47 hours of calls), Philips Xenium W6610 (40 hours), Sonim XP7 (40 hours) and Sonim XP6 (40 hours) to the top of this list.

Smartphones with long web surfing time

The battery test in web surfing mode allowed us to formulate the following rating of phones by operating time:

7. Motorola Moto E (2nd gen) – 12+ hours.

When using 4G LTE and screen brightness of 100 nits, the best battery life indicators were Huawei Ascend Mate 2 (under 15 hours), OnePlus One (13 hours), iPhone 6 Plus (10 hours), Samsung Galaxy S5 (over 9.5 hours) and Motorola Droid Turbo (9.5 hours).

Smartphones with long battery life in video viewing mode

Another popular area of energy consumption is watching videos. Rating of phones based on operating time in this mode.

They passed through our hands and we did not notice anything particularly outstanding about them.

However, the idea of “creating beauty,” that is, continuing the line of our own developments, is clearly not dead at Highscreen. Somewhere around the beginning of 2015, a new model, the Zera S Power, went on sale. Its name speaks for itself - it is a smartphone with a capacious 4000 mAh battery. True, it clearly lacks the features of Boost 2 SE. This is a product of a lower price category, so its characteristics are worse. But let's talk about everything in order - let's start with the design.

Video review of Highscreen Zera S Power

Although first we suggest watching our video about Highscreen Zera S Power:

Now you can move on to the main part of the article.

Design

Compared to the first Boost, progress has definitely made progress. Although the design of that smartphone is still pleasant to remember - such a small, hewn black “brick”. It was quite possible for them to defend themselves in a dark gateway, and not just walk for a couple of days without recharging. Boost 2 has become different - more elongated, slimmer. Even a 6000 mAh battery did not change the situation much. And here we have Zera S Power - something between two “boosts”.

The design of the Zera line was taken as a basis. Actually, it’s not difficult to guess that the phone in question is the same as the Zera S in almost everything, with the exception of battery capacity. That is, it is the same strict rectangle of an ash-black body. True, Zera S Power does not look so elegant due to its “plump waist.”

The back cover is no longer matte, but smooth and even a little slippery. Its sides are made more sloping so as not to cut the palm. At the same time, it has the typical drawback of a smartphone with a large battery - due to its size, the cover does not fit tightly to the body, creaks and plays.

But in general, the smartphone lies more or less comfortably in the hand. Highscreen managed to achieve a relatively small weight of 145 grams, but the thickness of 13.5 mm cannot be called small. Although if you remember the first Boost with its 185 grams and 14.2 millimeters, then the Zera S Power is not such a brick. But Boost's design is still better.

Zera S Power has a 4.5-inch screen, which by modern standards cannot be called “large in size”. It fits easily in your pocket, so you should pay attention to this model if you not only need a phone with a large battery capacity, but also a moderately compact handset.

Connectors and controls

Zera S Power does not have any special sophistications in terms of interfaces or ideas for controls. All this is clearly out of place, since the main task of a smartphone is to have a long charge and be inexpensive.

On the top of the front panel, as always, are the earpiece and the front camera lens.

Below, under the screen, as always, there are three touch buttons: Menu, Home and Back.

They have a moderately bright, clearly visible backlight. However, the buttons are visible even without it.

The rear camera and flash are located on the back of the phone. Moreover, unlike most modern smartphones, the lens here does not protrude, but is recessed.

At the bottom of the back cover there is a traditional perforation for the Zera series above the speaker.

The left side is dedicated only to the power button. It’s somehow more common to see it on the right, but here Highscreen decided to do it differently.

On the right, of course, is the volume control. And at the bottom there is a dimple for removing the back cover.

At the top end there is a 3.5 mm mini-jack for headphones and headsets, as well as a microUSB connector. The latter, in our opinion, has no place here. Try talking on such a phone while it is charging, and you will understand what we are talking about.

There is only a microphone at the bottom.

The cover of the smartphone is surprisingly easy to remove. Under it you can see the battery, as well as connectors for SIM cards. You can't get to them without removing the battery. This does not apply to the memory card slot.

Of course, there is only one radio module in Zera S Power. There are two types of SIM cards supported: miniSIM (regular) and microSIM. The main one is miniSIM, 3G communication works through it.

If you suddenly have difficulties installing SIM cards in the Zera S Power, then our short video on this topic will help you solve the problem:

In total, the ergonomics of the Zera S Power can be characterized by the word “ordinary”. Although, of course, the microUSB port should not have been moved to the top end.

Contents of delivery

Years go by, but Highscreen’s corporate design has not changed in any way - a box made of pressed cardboard, on the lid of which is a cutaway image of a smartphone.

The package itself is ordinary: user manual, warranty card, cheap headset, USB cable and charger. The last two elements no longer look “like millions of other smartphones from China”, but a little more solid than usual. Somewhere at the level of A-brands. It's a pity that the package does not include a case for the Highscreen Zera S Power - with such dimensions it will not be easy to find it on sale separately.

Screen

Having extensive experience with Highscreen products, we are pleased to report that the company usually does not skimp on the screen. However, it cannot be said that she invests in them as much as possible. Typically, displays are installed of average quality; they are almost always IPS matrices. All this is true for the Zera S Power. Let us remember that this model refers to accessible solutions. So having a decent screen is a plus.

Let's say more - the display of the smartphone in question set a record for maximum brightness! We measured a value of 822.03 cd/m 2 - we have not seen more in any of the 65 devices tested at the time of preparing this review. A close value can be considered the brightness of the tablet screen, which turned out to be at the level of 714.61 cd/m2. The brightest smartphone that passed through our hands was. In general, Highscreen really tore everyone apart and by a noticeable margin. True, the Zera S Power matrix cannot boast of deep black color - the black brightness turned out to be at the level of 0.97 cd/m2. It looks gray, which is not surprising - the average value for most mobile screens is 0.30-0.35 cd/m2. This results in a good, but not the best, contrast ratio of 847:1.

The diagonal of our “record holder” is relatively small - 4.5", which by modern standards is almost at the “entry” level. The resolution is also not the highest - 960x540 or qHD. If we were talking about a more expensive phone, then one would expect The resolution is at least 1280 x 720. And the display provides a pixel density of 245 ppi, which is not a record by modern standards.

So, everything is cool with the brightness of the “fat man” from Highscreen. What about the rest? The color gamut is also generally good. The display can easily display 16.7 million colors, but its color gamut is slightly out of sRGB, so not all of them will be displayed correctly. However, without special equipment no one will notice it.

The color temperature turned out to be quite high. It is, of course, overestimated for almost everyone, but is often at the level of 7700-8500K. In the case of the Zera S Power, the image appears even colder than it should be. Its temperature “jumps” in the range from 10500 to 12000K. It’s good that the graph is uniform - on bad screens it usually looks like a diagonal descending from above.

But the gamma curve is fine. It runs just slightly below the 2.2 reference curve at its bottom. That is, dark parts of the image appear slightly darker than necessary. But again, this will not be noticeable.

The Zera S Power screen only recognizes 5 touches. Not to say that you usually need more, but for expensive smartphones 10 is the norm.

The phone does not provide any special settings or display operating modes - again, we are not dealing with an A-brand flagship. Otherwise, the Zera S Power screen really stood out for its enormous brightness - a kind of smartphone-flashlight. In the sun, the colors and the rest of the picture remain clearly visible, but for comfortable use not on a summer street, it is better to set the brightness slider to 40-45%. It’s a pity, but the screen did not please with deep black color - the higher the brightness, the “graier” the black color will become. Otherwise, the Highscreen device is equipped with an IPS matrix of average characteristics - comparable to the level of the smartphone itself.

Camera

One of the main features of a budget smartphone is a weak camera. Moreover, we are talking not only about a good sensor, but also about the camera application, as well as software post-processing of images. The application provides both advanced shooting settings and additional modes with the ability to apply a variety of effects. Well, post-processing can significantly improve photos and videos from the camera. A striking example where all three of these points are taken into account is the Samsung flagships. Well, in Highscreen Zera S Power, we can say that not a single one of them is taken into account.

The only “functional” advantage of the 5-megapixel sensor is autofocus. As for the application, it is standard from .

The settings are mediocre - all this can be seen on most smartphones without their own shell.

The shooting quality is generally mediocre. The maximum is “below average”. No, it’s not terrible, but pictures even during the day on the street turn out blurry. As the light becomes a little less, noise appears. The camera tries to overexpose the image every now and then. No sharpening is added when shooting with flash.

Video settings are also standard and not particularly extensive. The typical “HoloAndroid” localization is present here too: “Best” quality is better than “High”. Manufacturers cannot yet translate this into more understandable numbers. "Best" means Full HD.

The video is captured with approximately the same success as the photo - the white balance is not disturbed, but otherwise everything is slightly blurred, sometimes overexposed.

The front camera does not seem to be “the cheapest for show”; it has a resolution of 2 MP. Although, to be more precise, it is 1.8 MP. So you can expect relatively acceptable quality from it for front sensors.

No miracle happened. The only advantage of the facial sensor is that the white balance can be said to be determined correctly. Otherwise, the pictures are sometimes too dark, sometimes too light, and also all blurry.

The front camera shoots video in a modest VGA or 640x480 resolution. Yes, that’s right, it doesn’t look good – much like a photo with all the listed “advantages” and disadvantages.

The Highscreen product range is very extensive and consists of several product lines. Moreover, for those of them that are equipped with a capacious battery, there is both a separate Boost series and separate models in other lines. Zera S Power belongs to the second option. The company also has one, which is no longer produced, as well as Zera U, the model that replaced it. Yes, the series are completely different, but both products are united by both a 5-inch Full HD screen and a pair of complete batteries of 2000 and 4000 mAh.

Highscreen Zera S Power has characteristics at the level of current mid-budget models. Moreover, they are almost no different from the “original” Zera S. A slightly different version of the processor was installed, the amount of built-in memory was doubled, and the battery, of course. And the most amazing thing is how Highscreen managed to maintain almost the same weight! The Zera S weighs 143 grams and the Zera S Power weighs 145 grams. Moreover, the first one has a battery of only 1800 mAh.

Zera S Power is based on the popular MediaTek MT6582 processor, introduced in January 2013. There is nothing remarkable about it - this is a typical solution for inexpensive smartphones. Inside the chip there are four Cortex-A7 computing cores operating at a frequency of 1.3 GHz. There is also the Mali-400 MP2 graphics accelerator, which is no longer the most modern by 2015 standards. It doesn't support the latest APIs, but overall it's sufficient for a phone like the Zera S Power.

The amount of RAM is 1 GB - also the norm for affordable smartphones. There is 8 GB of built-in flash memory, which is not very much, but better than the 4 GB of the Zera S.

The remaining parameters are completely typical: support only 3G networks, compatibility with Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0. Nothing unusual, if not for the capacious battery.

In the table next to the Zera S Power, we put a smartphone that is its direct competitor. It's not difficult to notice that it is equipped with almost the same processor, but it has less built-in memory and a larger screen. Let's figure out which of them will be faster.

Performance testing

To avoid any misunderstandings, the Prestigio MultiPhone 5517 DUO smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek MT6582M processor – a slightly lighter version of the MT6582 installed in the Zera S Power. The main difference between them is that the Mali-400 MP2 video card operates at 416, not 500 MHz.

In the old system-wide test Smartbench 2012 we see parity, with a very slight lead over Prestigio. The difference is extremely small and will not be noticeable to the eye.

The situation is similar in Antutu, Quadrant, and the SunSpider browser test - almost identical results, with Zera S Power slightly behind. This can only be attributed to more recent drivers from Prestigio or a slightly different build of Android. Although here and there version 4.4 is installed.

The difference in video card frequencies did not manifest itself in any way - both smartphones showed identical results in the 3D benchmarks eletopia and Nenamark2.

In 3DMark, the Zera S Power again showed a slight retention, although it should be exactly the opposite. And only in 3DRating did the phone from Highscreen come out a little ahead.

And now the most interesting thing - autonomy. Highscreen Zera S Power was able to save more battery charge than the Prestigio smartphone. However, this indicator cannot be called outstanding. For example, the 5.3-inch Lenovo S860, a fashion model with a capacious 4000 mAh battery, retained 76% charge. A – 82%. What can I say, equipped with a 5.5-inch screen and a 3000 mAh battery, it retained 77% charge.

In general, the only outstanding quality of the Zera S Power is the high-capacity battery and that’s it. Highscreen did not and still does not care about optimizing the software to reduce power consumption. However, like other B-brands, Prestigio literally failed in this test, given its powerful battery.

According to this graph, you can determine what consumes the most energy. Obviously, this is the screen, as well as resource-intensive tasks like games, especially 3D ones. Also loves to “eat” and 3G connection.

In summary, Highscreen Zera S Power is a typical inexpensive smartphone with a capacious battery. It is no different from competitors in terms of speed or autonomy.

Games on Highscreen Zera S Power

The Zera S Power handles games well.

  • Riptide GP2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Asphalt 7: Some delays are visible;

  • Asphalt 8: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour: Some delays are visible;
  • N.O.V.A. 3: Near Orbit: Some delays are visible;

  • Dead Trigger: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Trigger 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Real Racing 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Max Payne: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Mass Effect: Infiltrator: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Shadowgun: Dead Zone: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Frontline Commando: Normandy: Some delays are visible;

  • Frontline Commando 2: noticeably slows down;

  • Eternity Warriors 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Eternity Warriors 3: Some delays are visible;

  • Trial Xtreme 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Effect: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Plants vs Zombies 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Iron Man 3: excellent, the game does not slow down.

In general, no games slow down on the Highscreen Zera S Power. Or they barely slow down. Frontline Commando 2 managed to “distinguish” itself. Also, some games reduce the quality of graphics, including dropping the color depth from 32 to 16 bits. But they don’t slow down, yes. Typical behavior for such not-so-performing smartphones.

BY

Once upon a time, Highscreen experimented with pre-installing third-party shells on its smartphones, but now equips them with unmodified Android. In the case of Zera S Power this is version 4.4. The update to 5.0 most likely will not work. Highscreen, like any other B-brand, rarely updates smartphones to a more recent Android.

After entering the basic parameters, you will see an almost clean desktop with a standard set of shortcuts and widgets. The list of applications is also not striking in its diversity. Here we have a typical set of pure Android 4.4, except for the 4Sync client.

Highscreen has been cooperating with the 4Sync cloud service for quite a long time. The cooperation is so close that information about it is even printed on the box with the smartphone. Depending on the model, you can get a different amount of free space in the cloud. In the case of Zera S Power it is 64 GB.

In general, we have nothing more to say about the software. Highscreen Zera S Power has a standard calendar, standard audio and video players, a standard file manager, gallery, voice recorder, and so on. And perhaps this can be considered a plus. Especially if you consider the stupid manner of less famous companies installing a huge amount of software that duplicates standard functions on smartphones and tablets. Often there are clients of numerous stores, a full set of Yandex services, and the like.

Conclusion

Highscreen Zera S Power turned out to be a good smartphone with a capacious battery. Another thing is that he is not the only one on the market. Compared to other offerings from B-brands, this model generally stands out. It has a better screen, a good amount of built-in memory, and a generally productive processor. Autonomy, as our test showed, is better than that of one of its direct competitors. And the weight of 145 grams with such a battery can be considered a record.

If you don’t pay attention to the “niche” features, then the Zera S Power turns out to be a sort of gray mouse, unremarkable in anything special. The appearance may have some personality, but overall it is boring and uninteresting. The build quality could have been better, just as the ergonomics of the phone could have been tweaked.

And yet, in its Highscreen segment Zera S Power still looks good. Let's add to its advantages a decent screen with record brightness and pure Android 4.4. And the price is not the highest, if you look at it.

Price Highscreen Zera S Power

You can buy Highscreen Zera S Power for 8 thousand rubles. The cost is not the lowest, but overall justified. Other devices will be offered for less money.

The Prestigio MultiPhone 5517 DUO, with which we compared the Zera S Power above, will cost closer to 10 thousand rubles. Let us remember that it has the same hardware platform, but a larger screen and half the built-in memory. At the same time, the resolution of the 5-inch display is the same – 960x540. The tube is noticeably heavier – 170 grams. A case is also included in the package, as well as much more software installed on the smartphone. Not only branded, but also third-party utilities such as antivirus, cleaner, and so on.

Fly IQ4504 EVO Energy 5 and Explay Pulsar are devices of the same class. They also have a 4000 mAh battery, but they have an even worse screen (5" with a resolution of 854x480), only 512 MB of RAM. But they are cheaper - around 6-7 thousand rubles.

And again we are talking about Lenovo P780. Yes, yes, it is still for sale. And it costs a decent amount - around 7 thousand for the version with 4 GB of memory. But let us remind you that in addition to a 4000 mAh battery, it has a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720, a gigabyte of RAM, and the back cover is made of metal. In general, a worthy basis for current offers from B-brands.

Pros:

  • high capacity battery;
  • good autonomy;
  • relatively light weight, given the capacious battery;
  • Android 4.4;
  • 64 GB of 4Sync cloud storage;
  • good IPS screen with a huge brightness reserve.

Minuses:

  • mediocre design;
  • mediocre camera;
  • large thickness of the case due to the capacious battery;
  • The microUSB connector is inconveniently located;
  • back cover play.

The battery life of a smartphone without recharging is a critical issue for many users. This fact is confirmed by Google, which is implementing algorithms that can identify the most power-hungry applications in Android 8.1. Let's look at a list of devices that can really please users with long battery life.

The possibility of a long battery life is not the only important nuance for which a smartphone can be included in this rating. The device must be of high quality and generally attractive. Otherwise, why do you need only a powerbank device?

This smartphone is distinguished by one of the highest capacity batteries that are used in similar products - 4100 mAh, and at the same time the gadget is quite thin. The device has a 16-megapixel camera with laser autofocus, a 720p screen, 3 gigs of RAM and a Snapdragon 430 processor. Its cost is generally adequate.

Pros: not too large, good camera, capacious battery.

This Xiaomi device from the Redmi 4 line is considered by users to be the most successful. It not only has a 4100 mAh battery, but also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 – an energy-efficient chipset. It also has a metal body and constant MIUI updates. Although the camera has lower performance than the previous device, the price is slightly lower. It is already difficult to find in Russia.

Pros: fingerprint scanner, economical processor, huge battery.

The Huawei Mate 10 device is large in size. Not surprisingly, it uses quite a battery. The display is 5.9 inches, and the battery is 4000 mAh. The screen is bright and very high quality. There is a dual Leica camera and a fingerprint scanner. The model is appetizing in various respects and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.

Pros: good camera, metal body, excellent screen.

All fans of Samsung smartphones should pay attention to the Galaxy S7 Edge product. The company was working on developments regarding the battery life of the device. The cost is a little more expensive, but users will clearly not be upset by such a purchase. The device will work for a long time, and the battery is designed for 3600 mAh.

Pros: high performance, excellent build quality, camera.

Moto Z Force Droid Edition

This gadget also has a 3600 mAh battery, but the company’s employees have optimized the product and the software as a whole. The result is a device that really works for a long time. The rest of its indicators are flagship ones, it has a Snapdragon 820 chipset and a good 21 megapixel camera. You can note support for Moto Mods. In general, you can take it.

Pros: fast operation, good camera, availability of Moto Mods.

BlackBerry KEYone

This smartphone is presented by a company that users are already a little unaccustomed to. It doesn't have too many unique features, but it does have a 3505 mAh battery and a built-in Snapdragon 625 – an energy-efficient chipset, just like the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. The phone can withstand 2 days of operation under a good load. Connoisseurs will be pleased with the proprietary Blackberry keyboard.

Pros: Blackberry security experience, interesting design, proprietary Blackberry keyboard.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus

Samsung developers offer Godzilla with a 3500 mAh battery. The device has a huge infinity screen, but at the same time the device is compact and thin enough for the filling placed inside. The device has been well optimized, which ensures long operation without recharging. The gadget should not upset users.

Pros: comfortable in the hand, impressive design, very cool frameless screen.

Google Pixel 2 XL

The creation from Google Pixel 2 XL is distinguished by a capacious battery that holds 3520 mAh. It has the latest version of Android installed with all possible optimizations in terms of energy consumption. Branded features from Android and Google make the smartphone very desirable. It works for a really long time.

Pros: great camera, pure Android straight from Google, long battery life.

It would be strange if this smartphone was not on our list. Here everything is in accordance with the genre: large dimensions and a battery to match. But it is slightly inferior to the Galaxy S8. The gadget has an S-Pen, a cool design with a large screen. Battery parameters – 3300 mAh.

To find a phone with a good battery, you can simply specify the capacity in the search, for example, 10000 mAh and choose the device where the other characteristics are better, right? Or another option is to list the most interesting smartphones in 2019 according to their specifications, and then compare the capacity of their batteries and choose the one with mAh more, right?

A couple of years ago, the selection rule based on characteristics mAh it still worked. At that time, the hardware and software capabilities of mobile gadgets were approximately the same. Now the buyer should take into account several important factors affecting the operating time of the device on a single charge. How to do this, read on.

Key features of a phone with a good battery

1. Battery capacity

Basic, but not the only parameter (the larger the mAh number, the longer the battery is able to release the accumulated charge). Decreases over time due to wear and tear.

2. Additional technologies

The presence of NFC or a triple camera, a powerful processor or artificial intelligence have a significant impact on autonomy. If you do not plan to use any of the above (such as advanced Google add-ons), then it is better to abandon unnecessary functions. And, conversely, if you need something special, then choose the most modern, optimized and expensive modules for your ideas and purposes - they consume less energy.

3. Phone optimization

Some mobile processors are better optimized than others. There are not the most productive solutions that consume so little energy that even with a small battery they will give you more hours of autonomy than flagship smartphones based on top chipsets. The same line of Apple Ax ARM chipsets for iPhone performs its tasks much more successfully than competitors from Samsung with equal battery capabilities.

Step-by-step instructions on how to find a phone with a good battery

Many store aggregators (such as the well-known “ Yandex Market") contain detailed characteristics on the basis of which marketers make new ones for 2019 smartphone selections, which keep battery charge longer. But, as we found out, the same iPhone Xs Max is inferior in characteristics to, for example, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but in terms of autonomy, thanks to better optimization, it comes out ahead. How, then, can you determine which one has better battery life?

Step 1.

We use an aggregator. This is a special service that stores a huge database of smartphones. Go to the website of such a characteristics aggregator DeviceSpecifications.com and select the most suitable phone parameters.

Step 2.

We sift out the unnecessary. Using the sliders and checkboxes, select the most suitable smartphone, trying to weed out unnecessary and uninteresting models.

Step 3.

We determine the rating. From the resulting list of smartphone models, enter the names one by one into the aggregator of reviews, ratings and prices for mobile devices - the international portal Kimovil.com (in Russia it works intermittently due to the RKN). As you enter the phone name, a list of devices matching that name and their rating will appear.

Step 4.

Let's look at the overall rating. At this stage, you can weed out the criticized models (with a red rating below 3-5 points), but if everything suits you, then follow the phone link and on the page that opens, click above its image "Add to Compare".

Step 5.

Comparing the best. Add all other phones that interest you to the comparison tool. Then click on the bottom right corner of the screen "Compare".

To find a really good phone, pay attention not only to the overall rating, but also to the separate battery rating column.

Step 6.

Let's look at the reviews. Go to the screen of the phone you like and click on the battery icon to find out all the details about its operation directly from the users themselves.

***

Using this instruction you can weed out dozens of unnecessary models and find a good phone that battery lasts longer. You should not blindly trust numbers and automated systems. It is better to further verify the veracity of the information by looking and reading reviews from experts. But by that time you will have saved a huge amount of time, because the mobile market in 2019 is oversaturated with supply.

Many inexpensive smartphones may have a powerful battery or a large screen, but a weak processor or a mediocre camera. The Highscreen Power Five Max 2 4/64 GB phone pleases with a rare balance of parameters: it has a dual camera, the hardware leaves a positive impression of the interaction, and the picture on the display is of pleasing quality. In general, the model is a confident average, without frills, but also without unpleasant surprises.

The creators decided to equip the device with a 5000 mAh battery, which can be charged with the included charger with fast charging function or 10 W wireless charging. It is suggested to purchase it separately. A full charge, achieved in approximately 1.5 hours, is enough for 5 hours of online gaming via 4G Internet, 8 hours of watching videos on YouTube, or two days of normal use. With such a device, there is clearly no need to carry a powerbank with you.

4 BQ 6035L Strike Power MAX

Large Russian brand. High resolution. Android 9.0 Pie
A country: Russia (manufactured in China)
Average price: 7,990 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.2

Russia's largest manufacturer of consumer electronics, BQ Mobile, is tirelessly pushing the market forward by offering low-cost smartphones with high functionality. One of the latest models is the BQ 6035L from the Strike Power series with a “long-lasting” 6000 mAh battery. The MAX prefix indicates an increased diagonal (6") and FHD+ resolution (2160x1080 pixels). Although the phone belongs to the budget segment up to 10,000, it can boast of a realistic image on a frameless IPS display.

Judging by the reviews, the audience of fans of the device is quite large. In addition to the powerful battery, customers love its fast performance, beautiful metal body design, and the ability to choose from 5 colors. It is noteworthy that the smartphone supports the latest version of Android OS out of the box. It is better than the previous Oreo in several respects: battery efficiency, updated control logic, including gestures, and the presence of some “Apple” chips. Disadvantages include a small amount of RAM (2 GB) and a combined SIM card slot with a memory card.

3 ZTE Blade 20 Smart

Triple smart camera. NFC. One-The-Go Technology
Country: China
Average price: 11,990 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.5

The newcomer, having barely appeared in December 2019, made a lot of noise. For just $190, the manufacturer offers a powerful smartphone with top-end hardware: a large 6.49" screen, an 8-core processor, a 5000 mAh battery, 4GB RAM and built-in 128GB expandable up to 512GB. The battery capacity is enough not only for 2-3 days of work with a full load, but also for charging other mobile devices using OTG technology, which is rarely found in phones with a price tag of up to 10,000 or 12,000.

But even this is not the most important thing. The budget gadget is equipped with an entire artificial intelligence camera system for filming for all occasions. Its three modules with resolutions of 16, 8 and 2 MP have automatic focusing, an f2.4 aperture and a viewing angle of 120°. A huge plus is support for the NFC function. With it, users are offered the most modern way to pay for goods and services – contactless. It is not surprising that the smartphone immediately became a bestseller and received a lot of reviews confirming the reality of the stated characteristics.

2 Meizu M6 Note 16GB

The highest quality budget long-liver
Country: China
Average price: 10,490 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.7

It just so happens that the entire top three in the budget segment is occupied by Chinese manufacturers. But Meizu is the most famous and civilized of them. The model stands out poorly. The battery is “only” 4000 mAh, but judging by user reviews, with intensive use it lasts for two days, and as a “dialer” the M6 Note will last 5-6 days. Taking into account the support for the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging function, with which the phone replenishes the battery capacity in a little more than an hour, there are no complaints about autonomy at all.

The rest is average for 2017: “not trendy” 16:9 screen, Android 7.0, 16 GB of permanent memory. But there are also enough advantages: 4G support, a good processor (Snapdragon 625), high-quality photos and sound. We highly recommend it!

1 DOOGEE BL5500 Lite

The most trendy smartphone with a powerful battery
Country: China
Average price: 8,930 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.7

The iPhone X laurels are keeping the Chinese from DOOGEE awake. This is clearly visible in the design of the budget BL5500 - a vertical camera position, a “unibrow”, rounded edges and relatively thin frames - all in accordance with the trends. At the same time, the autonomy will please those who still remember push-button devices that last a week on a single charge. Battery capacity 5500 mAh. It claims 35 hours of talk time and almost a month (!) of waiting time. In reality, you should expect 2.5-3 days of active use.

In addition, the “filling” does not predispose to excessive energy consumption. It uses a 6.19" display with a resolution of only 1500x720 pixels, a simple 4-core processor from MediaTek and 2 GB of RAM (16 GB of ROM). But DOOGEE can boast of 4G, a dual camera and a fingerprint scanner.

The best smartphones with a powerful battery in the mid-segment: budget up to 25,000 rubles.

4 Vivo V17

Unique design. Record amount of memory. AMOLED screen
Country: China
Average price: 22,990 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.5

Instead of boring black and white “bricks”, budget phones began to receive cases with interesting designs. Take one of the company's latest models, Vivo V17. There are only two color options, but they are black diamond and blue mother of pearl. Thanks to them, the smartphone looks very impressive, but its beauty must be protected - all the panels only look like metal, but in fact they are plastic and after six months of careless use they will inevitably become covered with scratches.

What makes the V17 stand out from its classmates is its screen with an AMOLED matrix. It looks very high quality: the pixels are not visible, the contrast, as well as readability in bright light, are excellent, and the color rendition is in perfect order when changing the viewing angle. And the control shot: the RAM and storage memory here are, without exaggeration, outstanding - as much as 8 and 128 GB. These indicators, together with the 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and a powerful 4500 mAh battery, ensure smooth and durable work with multiple applications.

3 Xiaomi Mi Max 2 64GB

Largest display
Country: China
Average price: 11,400 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.6

Looks decent in the category of long-lasting mid-class smartphones and Mi Max 2 from Xiaomi. The model turned out to be so successful that it has earned a huge number of positive reviews from professional testers and ordinary users. And this is not the first time this giant with a 6.44-inch screen appears on our website. The FullHD IPS matrix provides excellent image quality, which makes watching videos, playing games and simply surfing the Internet extremely pleasant. At the same time, you don’t have to worry about autonomy, because the engineers managed to install a 5300 mAh battery in a thin 7.6 mm case. It is enough for two full working days. Don’t worry about long recharge times – Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology is used. By the way, modern USB Type-C is present.

In terms of hardware, Mi Max 2 is typically average. The processor may be from 2017, but its power will be sufficient for most tasks in 2020. RAM 4 GB, internal memory 64 GB. There are all the necessary communication modules, and in addition to them, a rare but useful IR sensor for controlling equipment, Wi-Fi Direct and three navigation systems for maximum accuracy and speed.

2 Xiaomi Pocophone F1 6/64GB

The most powerful mid-range smartphone
Country: China
Average price: 21,890 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.7

A flagship for 22 thousand rubles? It is quite possible if it is Xiaomi. Pocophone impresses with many things, including its battery. Capacity – non-standard for the class 4000 mAh. Most competitors are weaker by almost a third. This allows you to at least survive from early morning to late evening with very intensive use. And if you slow down, the battery will last the second day. In addition, there is fast charging from Qualcomm.

The rest of the characteristics are pleasing. 6.2’ display with FullHD+ resolution, the most powerful Snapdragon 845 processor, 6 GB of RAM, support for all modern communication standards, including Bluetooth 5.0. The dual camera is also great. In general, a very fast, but affordable and autonomous flagship from Xiaomi. Surprised!

1 ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1ZB602KL 4/64GB

The best combination of price, autonomy and characteristics
Country: China
Average price: 12,900 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.8

ASUS can hardly be called a leader in the smartphone market, but models like ZenFone Max Pro M1 deservedly received popular love. First of all, the model is interesting for its 5000 mAh battery. The manufacturer claims 42 hours of talk time and 840 hours of standby! In reviews, users boast of two or even three days of battery life under normal load.

I don't want to let go of the device. All thanks to a good 6-inch IPS display (2160x1080 pixels) and a powerful mid-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. There is enough memory - 4/64 GB (RAM/ROM), there is a slot for MicroSD. The communication modules are modern, as is the Android version – 8.1. The only disappointment is the mediocre quality of the dual camera.

The best rugged smartphones with a powerful battery (shockproof and waterproof housing)

A smartphone is an integral part of the tools a modern person needs. They do not leave it alone at home, at work, or on vacation, which means there is a high probability of its breakdowns. To prevent this from happening, you should purchase additionally protected devices. The most sought-after characteristics are waterproof and shockproof.
The waterproof case is designed in a special way to protect the device from liquids. With such a gadget, you are not afraid to find yourself in the rain, sleet or splashes on the beach. It is worth remembering that not all models are completely sealed, so immersion in water can lead to serious damage and breakdown.
The shock resistance of the device is achieved by using special materials that prevent the smartphone from malfunctioning if it falls or hits a hard surface. For people who prefer active recreation and extreme sports, this device is suitable like no other.

4 Caterpillar S61

Good characteristics and unique features
A country: USA (manufactured in China)
Average price: 46,680 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.6

Caterpillar is known to many for its indestructible mining machines and clothing. The company's smartphone also has the same characteristics. The appearance is modest - no screws or hypertrophied linings. All the most interesting things are inside. What interests us most is the 4500 mAh battery. The indicator is not the best in its class, but it is enough for a couple of days of active use of the device. The manufacturer claims 35 hours of talk time and 888 hours of standby.

The processor, memory and cameras are average and do not deserve special attention. But about a thermal imager (for example, it will allow you to identify heat leaks in the house), a laser rangefinder (digital “roulette” with an error of only 5-8 mm) and an air quality sensor will definitely surprise you. There are likely to be many professions where the combination of these sensors, autonomy and ruggedness will come in handy.

3 DOOGEE S50 6/64GB

The most beautiful rugged smartphone
Country: China
Average price: 20,490 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.6

Most rugged smartphones resemble a brick, but not the DOOGEE S50. The model is brutal, but without excesses - elegance is also present. Everything is great inside too. The 5180 mAh battery is especially pleasing. With active use, it will last for 2.5-3 days. When going to the forest, you can safely count on a week of use in camera mode (besides, there are 4 cameras here, and they are not of poor quality) and rare calls.

The filling is average, but the manufacturer did not skimp on memory: 6 GB of RAM and 64 ROM. The case with a 5.7-inch HD+ screen (18:9 aspect ratio) is protected according to the IP68 standard, and, judging by user reviews, it withstands impacts very well. The only complaint about the S50 is the terrible quality of the speaker: the sound is quiet, wheezing, and does not always work - be sure to check before purchasing.

2 Blackview BV9600 Pro

High energy efficiency. Advanced functionality
Country: China
Average price: 20,990 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.7

Blackview never tires of improving every year. And if the BV5000 at one time received a lot of negative reviews regarding its protective properties, then the BV9600 Pro shows obvious progress. From a rather primitive device with a men's only style design, the model has turned into an advanced device with great capabilities. The specifications say that it is not afraid of falls from a height, short-term immersion in water to a depth of 1.5 m.

This is in theory. But in practice, many reviews say the opposite, and you should still handle the smartphone with care. If you drop it on the floor or in water, you may be disappointed. But it has a fresh filling in the form of the MT Helio P60 chipset, shows an incomparably bright and clear picture on the AMOLED screen, supports NFC, LDAC and aptx HD codecs and the most popular satellite systems. Conclusion - for advanced use and even games, this is a completely acceptable option.

1 GINZZU RS9602

Better case protection. Suitable for use in all conditions
Country: China
Average price: 11,890 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.8

Numerous crash tests presented on the Internet clearly prove that it is impossible to accidentally “kill” the GINZZU RS9602. If you set yourself such a goal, then you can still deal with him, but even for this you need to try hard. Clad in massive armor, protected from water and dust on all sides according to the IP69 standard (the highest for consumer electronics), the smartphone not only gives the impression of being brutal - it is the most suitable phone for hunting, fishing and extreme recreation.

For obvious reasons, the device turned out to be massive, but the user does not have to carry a power bank with it. The built-in battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh, which should be enough for 2-4 days without recharging. Contrary to expectations, the device is equipped with good hardware: a quad-core MT6739WW with a frequency of 1.5 GHz and 2GB RAM. After 6 and 8 cores, it seems somewhat slow, but let's be fair: the model was created for basic communication tasks with a small margin for media entertainment.

The best flagships of 2018‒2019 with a powerful battery

It's no secret that new smartphone models, especially flagships, go on sale at a huge premium. Then prices begin to fall, and devices with excellent hardware, large battery capacity, and excellent camera characteristics are sold six months later at a discount of up to 10,000 rubles or more. That is why we did not exclude the favorites of previous years from the rating, but added several hot new products.

4 ASUS ROG Phone II ZS660KL 12/512GB

Ultra-fast mobile gaming platform. The fastest interfaces
Country: China
Average price: 69,900 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.5

While working on a new generation gaming smartphone, ASUS tried not so much to give it an atypical set of characteristics, but to create a full-fledged gaming ecosystem. Its role is intended to be played by the ROG Phone ZS660KL, updated to the 2nd series and first presented at the IFA 2019 exhibition in Berlin. The device appeared very impressively, surrounded by a whole set of complete accessories - a gamepad, a set-top box for connecting a second monitor, an external cooler and a docking station. This entire arsenal is packed in a branded suitcase, but, unfortunately, the gadget is not yet sold in Russia in this configuration.

However, the device has enough advantages: it has the world’s fastest mobile platform Snapdragon 855+, complemented by a large amount of RAM 12 GB and an Adreno 640 GPU. It should be noted that there is a huge amount of user memory - 512 GB connected via the high-speed UFS 3.0 interface, and fast 4G LTE Cat18 (1.2 Gbit/s) interfaces with WiGig (4.6 Gbit/s). In graphics applications, the smartphone provides the highest performance, it’s just a pity that in the Russian Federation it is still too expensive.

3 Nubia Red Magic 3s 8/128GB

Gaming smartphone with the latest chipset and cooler at a super price
Country: China
Average price: 38,860 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.6

Nubia, a Chinese developer of high-end mobile phones, unexpectedly presented the first gaming smartphone with the ICE 2.1 active cooling system at the end of 2019. The chipset consists of the most productive Snapdragon 855+ processor to date, Andreno 640 graphics accelerator, RAM and internal memory 8/128 GB. Such a powerful configuration allowed the new product to set a record in the AnTuTu test - more than 510,000 points, but it also required a more advanced technology for removing heat from heating components.

Thanks to ICE 2.1, when the cooler is turned on, the temperature of the device does not rise above 40° even during the most intense games. The built-in battery capacity is 5000 mAh, which provides at least 8 hours of gaming or 13 hours of web surfing. Other extraordinary features of the gadget include 8K video shooting on a Sony 48-megapixel module with a fast f/1.7 lens, electronic triggers that expand control capabilities instead of a gamepad, as well as fine-tuning through the proprietary Red Magic Game Space 2.0 utility.

2 Huawei P20 Pro

The best camera on the market
Country: China
Average price: 46,650 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.7

Another representative of Huawei has today's top characteristics, but is no different from the previous participant in terms of battery. There is still the same 4000 mAh, which is enough for a day of active work or two with normal load for most users. But there is a fast charging function, with which the smartphone is charged to 100% in less than an hour!

The characteristics are typical of a flagship: 8-core HiSilicon Kirin 970, 6 GB of RAM, 4G LTE, NFC and many other goodies. But the camera is much more attractive: the triple module (40+20+8 megapixels) provides excellent quality of pictures and videos, recognized as the best on the market by authoritative publications. This is where a high-capacity battery comes in handy - you can take photos with it all day long!

1 Samsung Galaxy Note 9

High performance. Fast wireless charging
Country: South Korea
Average price: 59,990 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.8

The category leader is not too surprising with its battery. The already familiar 4000 mAh provides about 9 hours of screen operation when wireless communication modules are turned on. For most users, a smartphone can last about two days. We have already seen all this from our competitors. What's more pleasing is the charging capabilities. In addition to fast charging via cable (up to 100% in 90 minutes), fast wireless charging is supported. The speed is lower, but how convenient.

The characteristics are, of course, flagship: Exynos 9810 processor, 6 GB of RAM and 128 ROM, an excellent dual camera and all the latest versions of communication modules. Separately, we note the magnificent 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2960x1440 pixels and the built-in stylus, which significantly expands the use cases for Note 9.

The best push-button phones with a powerful battery

3 teXet TM-D328

Best price. PowerBank function. Neat design and assembly
A country: Russia (manufactured in China)
Average price: 1,670 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.0

Oddly enough, but choosing a push-button phone from the budget category with acceptable functionality and build quality is not so easy. This is if you don’t know about teXet TM-D328, a very relevant model both in terms of the main means of communication and as a backup for two additional SIM cards. It is inexpensive, presented in a laconic design without anything superfluous and assembled conscientiously - what more could you ask for from a simple dialer?

Although it is not so simple. Thanks to the fact that the developers placed a full-fledged USB connector on the bottom end and hid a 4500 mAh battery in the body, the gadget easily replaces a power bank and is capable of charging the main smartphone or USB accessories. The size of the screen is also pleasing - by the standards of “push-button” devices it is really large, as much as 2.8". Reviews find fault with the sharp drop in brightness of the TN display in direct sunlight, the small font, which is not always suitable for the older generation, and the fairly quiet speakerphone. At the same time At the same time, users admit that the device is worth the money.

2 Digma LINX A230WT 2G

Best battery capacity (6000mAh)
Country: China
Average price: 3,000 ₽
Rating (2019): 4.7

When you first look at Digma Linx, you are amazed at its dimensions. The case dimensions are comparable to modern smartphones in width, with a thickness of 2.5 cm and a weight of almost 300 grams. And this without an additional antenna! Of course, the lion's share of the mass falls on the gigantic 6000 mAh battery. This is a record figure in the class, which will be the envy of many smartphones. Depending on the intensity of use, the phone lasts for 1-3 months. Of course, if you don’t use it as a powerbank (there’s even a full-size USB connector for that).

Among the interesting features, it is also worth noting a very bright flashlight (“hits” about 40 meters), which is turned on by a separate toggle switch even when the phone is turned off, and a walkie-talkie mode, for which that same antenna is needed. There are a lot of shortcomings, but on hikes, for which LINX was created, you pay little attention to them.

1 Maxvi P20

Supports three SIM cards. Karaoke and Bluetooth speaker function
A country: Russia (manufactured in China)
Average price: 1,990 RUR
Rating (2019): 4.8

The name of the P series of phones from the Russian manufacturer Maxvi comes from the word Power. P20 is its most advanced model with impressive battery capacity (5500 mAh) and the volume of two speakers. The architecture does not include power-hungry elements such as a processor with a large number of cores or a screen with a huge diagonal, so the autonomy of the device is amazing: up to 27 hours of talk time and up to 885 (!) hours of standby time.

It is especially impressive that such a tenacious device is also 3-SIM and supports many unique functions. You can connect a microphone to it and have a karaoke party or just a musical party with real light music. You can use it as a flashlight with two bright LEDs - a separate on and off button on the body makes this function incredibly convenient. Yes, a phone weighing 330 g and measuring 181x68x29 mm at first seems simply huge, and the 0.3 MP camera and 32 MB of internal memory are like a mockery of the modern user. But once you get used to it, all its functions become very popular.
