Sometimes there is a need to run several skype accounts on one computer, for example, one account is personal, the other is work. Find out how to do this in this short article.

There are two ways to launch a second instance of Skype, one is fast, but not convenient for everyday use, the second is less fast, but after one “setup” you won’t have to do anything else.

Method No. 1(fast)

1) Place the Skype icon on the quick launch panel if you don’t already have it there.

2) Launch the first Skype account as usual. The Skype icon appeared for the third time

3) Hold down the CTRL+SHIFT keys and click on the Skype icon with the left mouse button on the quick launch panel. After some waiting, a second Skype window should appear where you need to enter your username and password, BUT This method does not always work, depending on the version of Windows and the version of Skype.

Method number 2

1) Drag the Skype program onto the desktop several times, thereby creating several shortcuts to the program and calling them something, for example, “My personal” and “Work” (you can drag it either from the “start” menu or from the folder where Skype is installed C: WindowsProgram FilesSkype) .

2) One copy of Skype will launch as usual, so we don’t do anything with it. I have this shortcut “My personal”, on the second shortcut “Work” we right-click and select “Properties”

in the window that appears, on the “Shortcut” tab, in the “Object” line, add “space /secondary” at the end. Click "OK" and everything can be launched separately or together, each shortcut will launch its own copy of Skype. The number of shortcuts is in principle unlimited, i.e. You can run 2, 3 or 5 copies of Skype with different accounts. And in the tray we see 2 Skype icons.

BBB

3) With this method, each time you download a copy of Skype, you will have to re-enter your Skype login and password. There are two ways to solve this: one quick and easy, the second a little more complicated.

1--- Open the Skype shortcut and in the line where we added /secondary add a few more parameters /username: LOGIN and /password: 12345 . The line will look like this "C:Program Files (x86)SkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary /username:LOGIN /password:12345 for x64 Windows and "C:Program FilesSkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary /username:LOGIN /password:12345 for x32 windows. Instead of the words LOGIN and 12345, you need to write your login and password. For each shortcut, of course, you need to specify your username and password.

That's it, we exit Skype and restart it, now you no longer need to enter your login password, Skype will immediately log into your account.
The shortcuts can be placed in the startup folder and Skype will launch when Windows starts.

This method has one drawback: those who have access to your computer will be able to find out logins and passwords for your accounts by looking at the shortcut properties. To eliminate this, you need to use the second method.

2--- First, we need to do a little preparation.
We return to the Skype program folder, this is:
C:Program Files (x86)SkypePhone (for x64 Windows)
C:Program FilesSkypePhone (for x32 Windows)
And create two subfolders in it (if you want to use more accounts, then create more folders) with the names ВВВ "Data1" And "Data2".
Now we return to our shortcuts that we created earlier ( Skype1 And Skype2) and in the properties we delete everything that we added after the parameter /secondary.

The preparation is complete, now we have two subfolders and three files in the program folder.
Let's first figure out why we created these subfolders...
We created these subfolders so that account data was stored in them, and shortcuts loaded this data from these subfolders. In this case, you will not have to add any logins and passwords to the shortcuts.
Now let's put everything in its place and fill the subfolders with the relevant data.
Because we launched Skype with different accounts, and we were automatically logged in, which means this data is stored somewhere.

And this data is stored in your account folder Windows, or more precisely:
C:Documents and Settings<имя_Вашей_учетной_записи>Application DataSkype
C:Users<имя_Вашей_учетной_записи>AppDataRoamingSkype
In my case it's: C:UsersMaxAppDataRoamingSkype
We go to the appropriate folder and see a whole bunch of subfolders and various files there...

But we only need those subfolders that have the names of the Skype accounts we need, i.e. those accounts that we want to automatically download.

As you can see in the picture, I have three accounts that I will later upload.
(I apologize for blurring out the folder names, I just don’t want to advertise the names of my accounts)
We check again whether we have closed the Skype program; if we have not closed it, then close all its copies by clicking the second mouse button on the program icon in the tray and selecting the Exit menu item.

And I would advise, just in case, to make a backup copy of the folder:
C:Documents and Settings<имя_Вашей_учетной_записи>Application DataSkype(if you have Windows XP)
C:Users<имя_Вашей_учетной_записи>AppDataRoamingSkype(if you have Windows 7 or Vista)
You can select all the files and folders and add them to the archive, or simply copy this folder somewhere else... This is at your discretion... Just if mistakes are made, you can always restore the files to their original state.

Now we open two windows, one window where our credentials are stored, the second is the program window with which we worked earlier.

And copy the folders of our accounts into the BBB Data1 and Data2 folders that we recently created.
Those. the folder of the first account is copied to Data1, respectively, the folder with the second account is copied to Data2.
Please note, we do not transfer, namely Copy.
After copying is complete, we just need to add new parameters to our Skype1 and Skype2 BBB shortcuts.
As we remember, we left only the parameter in the properties of these shortcuts /secondary, naturally after the path to the program file.
Those. We should now have the following written down:

"C:Program Files (x86)SkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary (x64)
"C:Program FilesSkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary(x32)

Now, let's make our shortcuts launch the Skype BBB program and read data from the Data1 and Data2 folders.
To do this, in the properties of each shortcut, after the parameter /secondary You need to add one more parameter and the name of the folder from which the account data will be read.

So again we open the properties of each shortcut (Skype1 and Skype2) and in the item An object, after the parameter /secondary specify the parameter and the corresponding folder /secondary/datapath:"Data1" BBB - to Skype1 and accordingly /secondary/datapath:"Data2" BBB - to Skype2. Again, we put a space in front of the forward slashes (/) and put the names of the Data1 and Data2 folders in quotes.
It should look like this:

— for the Skype1 shortcut:
"C:Program Files (x86)SkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary /datapath:"Data1"(x64)
"C:Program FilesSkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary /datapath:"Data1" (x32)

— for the Skype2 shortcut:
"C:Program Files (x86)SkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary /datapath:"Data2"(x64)
"C:Program FilesSkypePhoneSkype.exe" /secondary /datapath:"Data2"(x32)

Actually, that’s all, now you can launch the shortcuts one by one Skype1 And Skype2.
If you did everything correctly, two copies of the program should launch and automatically pass authorization.
Again, you can copy these shortcuts (Skype1 and Skype2) to the folder, the one located in the menu Start and both copies of Skype will automatically launch when the system starts.

How to add a second user to Skype

Create a shortcut to launch the second Skype user (profile). To do this, follow the following path:

“Local disk (C:)” => “Program Files” => “Skype” => “Phone”.

In the “Phone” folder there is an application - “Skype.exe”. Right-click on the application file “Skype.exe”, and select the item in the context menu

“Send” => “Desktop (create shortcut).”

Right-click on the shortcut and select “Properties” from the context menu. After this, the “Properties: Skype - Shortcut” (or your name) window will open, in which we will make changes.

In order not to confuse the program with different types of accounts, it is better to enter credentials from your Skype account rather than from your Microsoft account. You can create a new Skype account from the program window by clicking on the “Register” link.

After this, two Skype users can use their accounts (accounts) simultaneously, independently of each other. You might be interested in the material .

You can also add other additional accounts to Skype. To do this, you will need to create new shortcuts, and then enter, for example, the following parameters into the shortcut properties: /secondary1, /secondary2, etc.

When using Skype, manually entering your account information every time is not very convenient, so this process can be automated.

How to launch two Skypes automatically

You will need to add the following options

/username:Skype login

/password:Password.

Please note that you should also add account parameters separated by a space.

After adding your Skype account data, the “Object” field will look like this (upper quotes):

Confirm the changes by clicking on the “OK” button.

Please note that if the Skype program is launched on your computer from the shortcut created when installing the program on the computer, then the main Skype account should always be launched first.

How to run two Skypes at the same time

First, remove the shortcut that was created when installing Skype on your computer.

C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe

then create a new shortcut to launch the program.

In the shortcut properties in the “Object” field you should make the following entry (upper quotes):

"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary /username:Skype Login /password:Password

In this case, you must enter your Skype login and password for the main Skype profile whose shortcut you deleted. After this, you can open two Skypes on one computer at the same time, independently of each other, and launch them in any order.

In this way, you can add other accounts to run them simultaneously on your computer.

Now you can run 2 Skypes, or simultaneously run several Skypes on your computer.

Skype supports working from multiple accounts. You can run two Skypes (or several Skypes) on one computer simultaneously or one at a time.

In order for two Skypes (2 accounts) to be opened and fully functional on one computer at the same time, it is possible to install 2 or more Skypes on the desktop. This is very easy to do, follow the instructions " launch 2 Skypes at the same time":

1. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and find CREATELABEL:

2. Specify the location on your computer where Skype is located, to do this, click REVIEW:

3. In the new window, click MY COMPUTER(Windows XP) or COMPUTER(Windows 7), select the drive where the Skype.exe file is located, click PROGRAM FILES— select SKYPEPHONE- highlight SKYPE and click OK.

As a result, you specified the path: C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe:

As a rule, the file location is always: C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe. But in Windows 7 I have a slightly different path to the Skype.exe file. In any case, you just need to find the folder on your computer where the Skype program file is downloaded:

4. When creating a shortcut, add a space at the end of the object placement line: without quotes /secondary.

Don't forget to put a space before /secondary.

5. When installing a second Skype on your computer, the next window prompts you to enter the name of the program. Enter any shortcut name, for example: Skype2 or Skype login and click READY:

This way you can install 2 Skypes on one computer. It’s even easier to install, but you’ll have to work hard.

Now you can run 2 Skypes at the same time and use your two (work, personal) Skype accounts. Or run 2 or more Skype different users on the same computer:

You can create two Skypes on your desktop only in versions of Skype starting from version 4. If you have an outdated version, update on the official website www.skype.com.

Two Skypes on the desktop allow you to exchange with Contacts, and for full audio functionality, adjust the sound by selecting different headsets for each Skype account on the same computer: TOOLS - SETTINGS - SOUND SETTINGS.

In addition, you can make it start automatically when you log in to each account:

Go to PROPERTIESLABEL- sign at the end of the line AN OBJECT: /username:xxx /password:111, where xxx is the skype login, 111 is the password. Be sure to put a space before /username: and before /password:! Click OK:

Unfortunately, in the first (initially downloaded) Skype program in Properties - Shortcut - Object there is a Skype version number and there is no way to configure automatic launch. There is only one way out - install the third Skype on your computer 🙂 and set your login and password:

The Skype program is one of the most popular and sought-after services, which has gained universal love and important social significance, since it allows people from different countries and continents to constantly keep in touch via chat, and communicate for free for an unlimited amount of time. However, for some Skype users, one account is not enough for full communication. The only way out of this situation is to create a second account.

An effective way to create a second Skype account

If you are determined to expand your circle and communication mode, you should definitely know how you can quickly create a second Skype account.

The standard procedure for creating a second Skype account involves first logging out of your account. To do this you need to do the following:

  1. In the corner of the active window, click the exit button.
  2. The process of canceling your first account will go through.
  3. Then a new Skype login window will appear in front of you.
  4. To create a second account, you need to confirm by clicking the Don't have an account?

To create a new account, you need to enter the following reliable information about yourself:

  • First and last name, email address;
  • Date of birth, gender, age and city;
  • The language you speak and contact phone number;
  • Original login and secret password.

If you do not want to carry out certain manipulations with the Skype program on your computer, you can simply visit the official website of the developers and in the Login and Registration section, select the Register new users item, through which you will create a second account.

After the registration process, you will receive an email with a link to confirm your registration in the program.

Important: If you wish to create a second account, you must enter an email address that will be different from the first account. Therefore, for example, .

How to properly combine two accounts to work in the program

Highly qualified programmers and Skype users know for sure how to merge accounts. To use two Skype accounts in real time, you need to launch Skype several times. To do this, you need to follow the following algorithm of actions:

  1. Select the Start button on your computer's taskbar and press the Run button.
  2. Then a window will open in which you need to click execute and confirm with the OK button.
  3. After this, a message may pop up indicating that there is an error, for which you should copy the text command and paste it again in the Run window.

Important: the list of actions for operating systems is slightly different: for 32-bit: “C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary, and for 64-bit: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype \Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary .

Merging skype accounts requires special attention, because if you change the Skype installation folder, it is important to ensure that the path to the Skype.exe file is specified correctly.

Thus, in order to correctly and competently manage and use two accounts in Skype, you should first familiarize yourself with the intricacies of managing multiple accounts.

Sometimes it may be necessary to simultaneously use two or more accounts on one computer of one of the most popular programs created for comfortable communication on the Internet - Skype. This situation may arise if, for example, someone else uses the same computer besides you, or one user has several accounts, say, one for friends and relatives, and the other for work. The question arises, how run two or three Skypes on one computer at the same time, if by default this feature is not provided?

You need to start by removing existing Skype shortcuts on your desktop. Simply delete them and empty the Recycle Bin by right-clicking on it and selecting the “Empty Recycle Bin” menu item from the list that appears.

To confirm deleting files from the Recycle Bin, click the “Yes” button.

Let me add that you can permanently delete any file or shortcut in Windows 7, bypassing the Recycle Bin, as follows: select the file or shortcut you need to delete with one click with the left mouse button and, while holding down the “Shift” key, press the “Delete” key on the keyboard. Then in the window that appears, click the “Yes” button to confirm deleting the file.

Now you need to create the required number of Skype shortcuts on your desktop. If you need to run two skypes at the same time, we create two shortcuts, but if there are three, that means three shortcuts. I think everything is clear here. There are two ways to create a shortcut for Skype. Let's consider the first of them. For Windows 7 32-bit, go to the following path: “C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone”. By right-clicking on the Skype launch file, select the line “Desktop (create shortcut)” from the “Send” drop-down menu item. Do this action as many times as you need to create shortcuts.

For Windows 7 64-bit, go to the following path: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone”. Here we do everything exactly the same - right-click on the Skype launch file and select the menu item “Desktop (create shortcut)”.

Consider the second way to create Skype shortcuts on your desktop. To do this, right-click on an empty space on your desktop and then select “Shortcut” from the “Create” drop-down menu.

A window will appear in which you can click the “Browse” button to specify the location of the Skype launch file.

The paths will be the same as I indicated in the first method. I’ll show you using 64-bit Windows 7 as an example, that is, the path to the startup file will be: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone”.

The location of the object is indicated; to continue creating the shortcut, click the “Next” button.

Now specify the name of the future shortcut. For example, “Skype work” or “Skype mom”. After entering the name, click the "Done" button to complete the shortcut creation process.

It doesn’t matter which method of creating a shortcut for Skype you use. The main thing is to create them. For me personally, the first method seems more convenient. So, the shortcuts are created.

What do you need to do now to launch two skypes simultaneously? There are several ways, but I will share with you the best option. To launch two Skypes on one computer in any order, you need to make some changes to all Skype shortcuts. Let's start with the first shortcut. Right-click on it, then select “Properties” from the menu that appears.

A small Skype shortcut configuration window will open. In the “General” tab at the top of the window, you can set a name for the shortcut, say, “Skype working”.

Then go to the “Shortcut” tab and in the “Object” field after the quotes, add /secondary separated by a space. I draw your attention to the fact that there must always be one space between keys starting with a slash. Now the “Object” field for Windows 7 with 32 bits will look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary

To confirm the changes made, click the “Ok” button.

Do the same operation with the second Skype shortcut. Just don’t forget to immediately rename it in the “General” tab. All is ready. You can try to launch and log in. Everything worked out for me - two Skypes were launched simultaneously.

Now you can run two Skypes on one computer, which will work simultaneously. It only remains to add that for the convenience of using two or three Skypes, you can immediately set a username and password for each account, so as not to enter them when starting the program. To do this, open the shortcut settings again by right-clicking on it and selecting “Properties”. After this, in the “Shortcut” tab, you need to add /username:*** /password:*** in the “Object” field separated by a space. Here, instead of asterisks, write your Skype account login and password without spaces or quotation marks. Now the “Object” field for 32-bit Windows 7 will look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary /username:*** /password:***

However, do not forget that the Skype login and password can be seen by other computer users, if any, by opening the properties of the shortcuts you created. But not everyone can think of this. And if only you use the computer, then you don’t need to worry at all.

As you already understood, simultaneous launching two or more Skypes on one computer is no problem. If you still have any questions, ask them in the comments. Be on friendly terms with your computer!
