Equipment

The smartphone from ZTE is sold in a nice branded blue and white box. Minimum equipment: power supply, cable and manual.

Appearance

ZTE Blade L3 has a classic design with memorable blue accents. Under the screen there is a standard ZTE ring with two dots: three touch keys whose functionality can be changed.

I liked the matte coating on the ends and back cover, as a result of which the device does not slip in the hand. The back cover is not secure enough and can be removed very easily. Most likely, it will quickly begin to play. So, don't remove the back panel of this smartphone too often.

The Blade L3 smartphone is equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen display made on an IPS matrix in HD format, the resolution of which is 1280 × 720 pixels.

The screen is quite dim even if you select maximum brightness in the settings. This is frustrating: on a sunny day the phone will be difficult to use. When the device is tilted, the display also becomes blind, but it reflects the surrounding image very well, which makes it look like a mirror. But this is a completely useless option.

Above the phone's display are the speaker, camera and sensors.

On the back cover there is a noticeably protruding camera, next to it there is a flash and a speaker. Two SIM card slots and a memory card slot are located under the cover.

Bottom: microphone, microusb connector. Top: headset jack.

There's nothing on the left. Right: lock button and combined volume control button.

Connection

The ZTE Blade L3 phone can install two standard SIM cards (mini-SIM format). Such SIM cards were used in almost all phones before and in many phones now.

To install SIM cards, you need to remove the battery. There is a moisture sensor in the SIM1 slot. There are traditional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless adapters, as well as a standard set of sensors.

The connection is received reliably, but judging by the level, the antenna is quite weak. In hard-to-reach areas (basements, places far from towers, densely populated cities), communication will most likely be “limpy.”

In the settings (including quick settings) you can select the SIM card slot for Internet access.

In the settings, you can select the SIM card that the user wants to use for calls and SMS. Communication settings are minimal.

The Phone application is standard and does not stand out in anything special.

The Contacts application is also standard. If the default SIM card is not selected, a selection prompt will be displayed before the call.

operating system

When you first start, the user will be asked to make initial settings: language, WiFi access point, Google account (log in or create a new account).

The smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 with a standard Android interface.

To unlock, you need to press and hold your finger on the screen. If there are missed calls or SMS, a notification icon will appear on the monitor. If you hold your finger on an icon, the corresponding application will open. Personally, I don't like the idea of holding - just tapping is much more convenient.

A curtain extends from above with notifications and quick settings: turn on and off communication elements and screen settings.

In the curtain you can select the default SIM card in applications for calling or dialing SMS.

The device has a minimum of applications installed:

When you hold down the central hardware key, the Google Now application launches with various prompts.

The functions of the left and right buttons can be changed in the settings: left “back” and right “menu” or vice versa. Holding down the menu button brings up a list of recent applications.

Performance

The “heart” of the smartphone is the MediaTek MT6582M processor. It is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and a Mali 400 MP2 graphics controller clocked at 416 MHz. The amount of RAM is 1 GB.

The result of AnTuTu Benchmark 5.7.1 gives 17,426 points. Average result for comfortable use of a multifunctional smartphone.

3D Mark result 2072 points. The speed is not enough for modern games. The Quadrant Professional Edition produced a score of 6932 points.

Multimedia

The phone plays 1080p video. The standard player may not work with certain codecs (for example, AC3), but otherwise works well.

Compared to L2, it’s night and day in terms of image quality and camera performance in general. L2 WITH CAMERAS BRAKES terribly. Ergonomics in general are also better.

    2 years ago 0

Price. These days, 6 thousand is quite a budget phone, and if you look at the Blade L3 that way, it’s a wonderful device. Speed of work. It doesn’t fly, yes, but it’s perfect for all everyday tasks, two applications work simultaneously without problems. Call recording works.

I've been using it for less than a month and the auto-rotate screen has stopped working. Only one company provides warranty repairs for ZTE. They find all sorts of reasons. to transfer to paid repairs. So using only vertical mode.

The brightness is a little lacking

    2 years ago 0

Weak battery, with a small load on the CPU it gets very hot, the temperature reaches 82 degrees. The front camera leaves much to be desired.

    2 years ago 0

The first time the buttons are never pressed like - ok, then, ready, there were no such problems with other phones. Above the volume column, there is a gap from the back cover, it slides in your hand. The camera has a very strange focus, it’s stupid, no matter how hard you press the focus it’s the same! You might struggle for a few minutes with the focus, but still get a great shot!

Android 4.4, which means what the hell are you going to write to the flash drive?
    - It is impossible to get ROOT on stock, I had to reflash it to CM12.1
    - Two revisions, on the first everything is fine with firmware and recovery, but on the second not everything is smooth (For details, go to the w3bsit3-dns.com forum)
    - The battery, it just killed me, 2000 mAh for 4 cores and HD Erkan, it runs out very quickly, you need a PowerBank
    - Heats up quickly when sitting via mobile internet
    - No OTG, although the processor supports
    - The speaker is quiet
    - If purchased in Life:), then the first slot will be locked to the Life:) card
    - Weak charger included, resulting in long charging times
    - In rare cases, the mobile Internet falls off (solved by airplane mode)
Charger connector at the bottom, terrible

I bought it yesterday, I got it defective, the battery drains at 2% per minute, it’s not going to work. Now I’ll go to the messenger and swear there. Let them either change the battery or the phone.

    2 years ago 0

    1) battery. It sits down quickly if you turn the brightness to max, turn on wi-fi and play - it sits down in about 3 hours.
    2) overheating. This is due to the processor and battery. especially if you play with the charger connected. But to be honest, at the beginning it got very hot for me, reached 47C, but then it either got hotter, but stopped heating up so much.
    3) the original USB cable broke after a month and kept flying out of the socket, so I had to buy an additional charger.

The front camera is not very good, the screen is not very bright, it gets scratched quickly, and leaves a lot of fingerprints on the screen.

    2 years ago 0

It seems that, like on L2, WI-FI disappears or freezes after a while....it can be treated by turning it off and on.
Again, the new Android - I don’t really like it yet... there are no buttons on the screen to turn off wi-fi, GPS (it actually seems to be turned on and off automatically by application)
...it’s just that I’ve only had my phone for a day.....

    2 years ago 0

No film on the screen. Since there is no oleophobic coating, the display instantly collects fingerprints and grease from surrounding surfaces. After this, picking up the device is simply unpleasant. Film fixes the problem.
Camera. So-so, but you can’t expect more from a budget device.
It is unlikely that an update to 5.0 will come.

Accelerometer(or G-sensor) - sensor of the device’s position in space. As a main function, the accelerometer is used to automatically change the orientation of the image on the display (vertical or horizontal). Also, the G-sensor is used as a pedometer; it can control various functions of the device by turning or shaking.
Gyroscope- a sensor that measures rotation angles relative to a fixed coordinate system. Capable of measuring rotation angles in several planes simultaneously. A gyroscope together with an accelerometer allows you to accurately determine the position of the device in space. Devices that use only accelerometers have lower measurement accuracy, especially when moving quickly. Also, the capabilities of the gyroscope can be used in modern games for mobile devices.
Light sensor- a sensor that sets the optimal brightness and contrast values for a given light level. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Proximity sensor- a sensor that detects when the device is close to your face during a call, turns off the backlight and locks the screen, preventing accidental clicks. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Geomagnetic sensor- a sensor for determining the direction of the world in which the device is directed. Tracks the orientation of the device in space relative to the magnetic poles of the Earth. The information received from the sensor is used in mapping programs for terrain orientation.
Atmospheric pressure sensor- sensor for precise measurement of atmospheric pressure. It is part of the GPS system, allows you to determine altitude above sea level and speed up location determination.
Touch ID- fingerprint identification sensor.

Satellite navigation:

GPS(Global Positioning System) is a satellite navigation system that provides measurements of distance, time, speed and determines the location of objects anywhere on Earth. The system is developed, implemented and operated by the US Department of Defense. The basic principle of using the system is to determine location by measuring distances to an object from points with known coordinates - satellites. The distance is calculated by the delay time of signal propagation from sending it by the satellite to receiving it by the antenna of the GPS receiver.
GLONASS(Global Navigation Satellite System) - Soviet and Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. The measurement principle is similar to the American GPS navigation system. GLONASS is designed for operational navigation and timing support for land, sea, air and space-based users. The main difference from the GPS system is that GLONASS satellites in their orbital motion do not have resonance (synchrony) with the rotation of the Earth, which provides them with greater stability.
