In the recent past, printers, faxes, scanners and, of course, a huge copy machine were indispensable attributes of a successful office. Only a few could organize all this diversity at home. But times have changed, multifunctional devices have appeared. Contrary to the fears of skeptics, inkjet printing did not go into oblivion with the advent of laser printers. Its higher quality is also used in MFPs. In addition, the cost of such units is significantly lower than their laser counterparts. Now anyone has the opportunity to fully work with documents and print photos at home. Our rating includes the most popular and best models of inkjet MFPs of 2018 - 2019.

Which brand's inkjet MFPs are better?

The inkjet MFP segment is occupied by four well-known brands: Epson, Canon, Hewlett-Packard and Brother. The remaining companies operating in the inkjet printing market are either not represented by any MFP models at all, or they are not very popular.

It is difficult to single out a clear favorite from the above four. In terms of the number of models produced, all except Brother have almost equal positions. The latter company is represented locally, but its products are quite competitive in their niches.

Epson and Canon products are extremely popular and these brands are fighting each other in the market at every price range. HP has pulled away from them only in the segment of professional MFPs - plotters, where the maximum print format reaches A0 size.

So which inkjet MFPs offered to Russian consumers are considered the best?

Many computer owners buy printers or MFPs. Everyone needs office equipment: schoolchildren, students, businessmen, photographers. Some print abstracts, course papers, others print checks, invoices, receipts, and others take photographs. There are many of these devices on the market: inkjet and laser, black and white and color, with refillable cartridges and CISS. This article explains how to choose a printer for your home and office.

Types of printers and MFPs

A printer is a peripheral device for paperwork. It transfers data from electronic form to physical media: paper, disks, labels, etc.

Multifunctional devices have also become widespread. MFPs perform the tasks of a scanner, a copy machine, and in some cases a number of other functions, for example, a telefax. Due to such multitasking, work space and budget are saved - there is no need to buy each device separately.

Jet

Unlike laser ones (see below), it has a relatively low speed, but at the same time, high quality printing of color halftone images.

How does he work? The image is formed by microscopic drops of ink that are ejected onto the paper through the nozzles of the print head. It moves horizontally, and after each strip is printed, the paper moves vertically.

Flaws. If it is not used for a long time, the ink in the nozzles dries out, clogging the print head. Nozzle clogging is critical for Epson and Canon, where the print matrix is replaced in special workshops. Printer models with print heads located on a cartridge do not have this problem, because Replacing the cartridge eliminates it.

Inkjet printer with refillable cartridges (RPC)

When the ink runs out, printing becomes impossible. Manufacturers recommend buying branded cartridges, but their cost is higher than refilling with third-party toners.

Refilling cartridges is not profitable for manufacturers; they lose profit on the sale of consumables. Refilling original cartridges is not initially provided and the quality of subsequent work is not guaranteed. Some companies create artificial obstacles to the use of non-original materials by installing memory chips.

This protection is circumvented by refillable cartridges (RCCs) with resettable memory chips. They are empty compatible cartridges with holes for refilling.

SPDs do not change the design of the device and do not cause harm to printing equipment.

You can purchase refillable ink cartridges along with your inkjet printer or purchase them separately. Be careful when purchasing slam-shut valves; they must match your printer model; see the instructions for information about this.

InkTec Canon 5-C425

The disadvantage of the PZK is the small capacity of the cartridges, due to which they often have to be refilled.

To print a large volume of documents, it is recommended to use a CISS (continuous ink supply system) instead of the PZK.

The CISS supplies ink from separate refillable reservoirs connected to compatible cartridges via a silicone cable.

As is the case with refillable cartridges, manufacturers are trying to make it difficult to use CISS by installing security chips and periodically updating their firmware. You need to be careful when buying a CISS, otherwise it may not be suitable.

There are devices on sale with factory CISS - with a built-in continuous ink supply system.

Epson L800

Laser

In terms of printing speed, a laser printer is superior to its inkjet counterparts.

How does he work? The principle of xerography is used: an image from a special drum is transferred to paper, to which ink (toner) is electrically attracted, then it is baked at high temperature.

An electrostatic charge on the surface of the photosensitive drum can be created by a laser or LED strip. A device with LEDs is also called an LED printer.

LED differs from laser in the presence of an LED line instead of a laser, but otherwise, their operating principle is similar.

Advantages: high speed, paint does not dry out.

Disadvantages: the quality of color halftones is lower than in inkjet.

It uses a single black toner color.

Samsung ML-2165

Works almost the same as black and white. The only difference is the color of the paint used. Color works with black, cyan, magenta and yellow toner, while black and white only works with black.

Xerox Phaser 6600N

Which printer to choose: laser or inkjet? It all depends on your needs, if the quality of the photos comes first, choose inkjet, in other cases laser is preferable.

Applies an image by adding paint under the surface of the paper. Thermal sublimation printing uses the phenomenon of sublimation, when a solid substance, bypassing the liquid state, turns into a gaseous form.

Inside the device there is a heating element and a special film similar to cellophane, and between them there is thermal photo paper. The film contains cyan, yellow and magenta dyes.

When printing begins, the film heats up and the ink evaporates from it. When heated, the pores of the paper open, allowing gaseous dye to pass through, and close, securely holding the dye. Due to the fact that the paints are applied alternately, printing occurs in three stages.

A sublimation printer produces photographs of excellent quality, but it also has its drawbacks:

  • Slow speed
  • Expensive

The following image shows sublimation printers: the first is full-size, the second is compact for printing, cheat sheets, and small-sized photographs.

Epson SureColor SC-F6000 and LG PD233

Solid ink printer

Prints with solid ink briquettes. The principle of operation is this: the printer melts some of the solid ink, then it enters the print head. The print head transfers the image to the drum. The rotating drum applies the image to the paper pressed against it in one pass.

Melted ink must be kept in a liquid state, otherwise it will flow into the waste container. In order to reduce ink loss, it is advisable not to turn off the solid ink printer from the power supply.

Advantages:

  • Capable of applying images to a variety of media: cardboard, thick paper, film without loss of quality.
  • With long-term use, the cost of printed products decreases.

Flaws:

  • Expensiveness of the device.
  • Instability of prints at high temperatures.
  • Excessive ink consumption when rebooting the device.
  • Increased energy consumption due to constant connection to the network.

Xerox ColorQube 8570N

The image is formed due to the thermal head and heat-sensitive paper, which turns black in places of heating - this is how characters are formed. Thermal printers are relatively inexpensive and do not require toner, but their quality is not the best.

Thermal transfer is widely used for printing receipts and text labels for office needs.

Photo printer

Most often it is chosen by professionals and creative individuals who consider photography their hobby. Such devices are purchased in order to save money on prints and it is convenient - you do not need to go to a photo studio.

How to choose? There are many color printers on the market with their own characteristics. Making the right choice is very difficult. Let's look at the main points that are worth considering when choosing a photo printer.

Technology

Laser, although they have become widespread, the quality of printing color halftones is inferior to inkjet and sublimation printers.

Sublimation dyes “fairly” mix colors and the photographs are obtained at a high level. But their significant drawback is the high cost of consumables, hence the high cost of one print. Therefore, inkjet is optimal.

Maintenance cost

The cost of maintenance and consumables is an important criterion. When choosing a specific model, first pay attention to the resource and number of cartridges used.

By resource we mean the number of photographs printed on 1 set of ink.

It's not so simple with cartridges. There are inexpensive inkjet printers on the market with good quality photo printing, but they only have 2 cartridges (black and color). An inexperienced user may be fooled by the low price and passable image quality. But when the paint runs out, he will be unpleasantly surprised at the cost of new cartridges.

HP 121 Black/Tri-color Combo-pack

What's wrong with one color cartridge? When at least 1 color runs out, you will have to buy a new cartridge or refill it, and not everyone knows how to do this. Due to the fact that one cartridge contains several inks at once, each color has a small volume.

Cartridge set

Different color cartridges are convenient because they can be changed individually.

Please note the following point: if the print head is located in the printer, then when the paint dries in it, you will have to send the entire device for repair. If the heads are placed on cartridges, then replacing them eliminates this need.

To save on cartridges and their refilling, use a continuous ink supply system (CISS) - we have already talked about it above, we will not repeat it.

Format

When choosing a photo printer, decide what print format you need - the maximum size of printed photographs. The more formats supported, the better, but also the more expensive the device itself.

Permission

To obtain high-quality photographs, a photo printer with a resolution of 4800x1200 dpi (dots per inch) is sufficient; more is better; one with a lower resolution is not worth buying.

Speed

If you don't print out stacks of pictures every day, then printing speed isn't that important. Otherwise, pay attention to the average speed of printing 1 photo, because time is also money.

Additional functions

It is much more convenient to work with a printer if it has additional functions. On models with LCD displays, you can select pictures directly from the screen. The card reader allows you to download files from removable media. Duplex makes double-sided printing possible. With Wi-Fi support, files can be printed over a wireless network and from mobile devices.

On the one hand, additional functions are important, but on the other hand, they come at a price. Therefore, decide for yourself which of the above you need and which you can do without.

Canon SELPHY CP810

Multifunction device

MFP is a multifunctional device with the functions of a printer, scanner, copier and, in some cases, a fax.

There are laser and inkjet, color and black and white (monochrome).

How to choose? First of all, you need to remember the advantages and disadvantages of laser and inkjet printers.

  • Inkjet printers have a slower print speed; if left idle for a long time, the print heads can dry out, but they have better quality for printing halftone images.
  • Laser ones have higher speed, less ink consumption, and it does not dry out, but color printing of halftone images is worse.

If printing photos is not a priority (it is better on inkjet devices), choose a laser MFP for your home; with it you don’t have to worry about the paint drying out.

It is better to choose an MFP for the office that supports network technologies (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) so that several PCs can access it. A multifunctional office device must be laser, because... in these conditions, speed plays an important role, and with one cartridge refill, a laser MFP will print more pages than its inkjet counterparts. Don't forget to have a fax machine, duplex and card reader.

Black and white or color laser MFP?

Color printing is required - choose a color laser MFP for your home or office, but they are more expensive than black and white multifunction devices.

Advantages:

  • Save work space by combining the functions of different devices in one.
  • Relatively low price - cheaper than individual office equipment taken together.
  • Optional functions: duplex printing, fax, network connection.

Flaw:

  • A breakdown will affect the work of the entire office; workers may immediately lose their fax, scanner and other functions.

This concludes the article. Now you know which device to choose for your home and office. Be responsible when purchasing office equipment. Before making a choice, evaluate the pros and cons of a particular printing technology, and also decide what additional features you need.

Inkjet MFPs are suitable for working at home and in small offices. They have a number of advantages:

  • compact models;
  • affordable price, including low cost of cartridges;
  • photo printing;
  • use of glossy and matte paper;
  • possibility of installing a continuous ink supply system;
  • refill cartridges yourself;
  • fast speed of printing the first page of a document.

Due to their low speed, inkjet printers are not entirely suitable for offices where large volumes of documents need to be printed.

Multifunctional devices stand out from other types of printers due to their impeccable print quality and are simply irreplaceable for printing photographs. These include:

  • printing mechanism,
  • paper supply system,
  • control system.

The printing mechanism consists of the following components:

  • the head located in the center of the device,
  • ink cartridges,
  • motor with belt for rotating the head,
  • vibration stabilizer rod inside the head.

The paper supply system includes:

  • trays,
  • rollers for passing paper,
  • motor for scrolling paper.

The control system is an electrical circuit and allows you to decode data, transmit information to a computer and receive it. The system is equipped with a compact power supply.

Multifunction devices are often equipped with parallel ports, a serial device, or small computing system ports.

Typically, such printers have a wireless connection for working with computers, smartphones, tablets, and flash cards.

Ink spray technology can be of two types:

  • thermal bubble system,
  • piezoelectric system (implemented using special piezocrystals).

The multifunction printer is designed to perform the following tasks:

  • printing of documents,
  • copying,
  • scanning,
  • transmission of information via wireless communication (fax and telephone functions).

How to choose an inkjet MFP

A multifunctional device is suitable for use at home, which means it should optimally combine price and quality. The work area at home is usually small, so compact options are great for those who appreciate large desk space.

Chasing cheapness is not the best tactic when choosing a multifunction printer. Practice shows that the cheaper the device, the more expensive the original ink.

The initial low cost can lead to significant costs in future use. If you choose a budget option, you should give preference to a model with refillable cartridges.

  • Price and quality. A home printer is a good price and high quality. Inkjet models have a low cost compared to laser ones.

At the same time, inkjet printers are distinguished by impeccable photo printing quality. When choosing, you can ask your sales consultant to print on different devices and compare the quality.

  • Number of colors. Printers are usually equipped with 4-6 toners in colors such as black, yellow, blue and magenta.

If you plan to obtain high-definition photographs with a wide color gamut, you need to purchase options with 6 toners.

  • Print formats. The devices can be designed for printing on A4, A3 paper, envelopes, photo paper, cards, labels, disks, etc.

If you plan to work only on A4 paper, then you should not overpay for office equipment designed for other formats.

  • Photos. Some devices are equipped with a photo printing function. Before choosing this option for your home, you need to think about how often and in what quantity you plan to work with photographs.

If it's 10-15 pieces per year, you shouldn't overpay for an additional option. It is more economical to go to a photo salon.

If you plan to print a large number of black and white photos, you need to choose printers that are equipped with gray and light gray toner.

Many models have card readers. You should definitely check whether the memory card used in your digital camera is supported.

A multi-format card reader can print photos without a computer, or the printer itself can be used as a card reader.

When choosing a device for photographs, an LCD control panel is also important, which is desirable with a picture correction system.

  • Borderless printing. This option is relevant for photographs, business cards, and envelopes.
  • Duplex printing (duplex). Duplex is usually automatic. Not all printers are equipped with this convenient option.
  • Speed of work. There are several types of speeds: color, black and white and copy speed. At home, speed is not very important, because... It is not expected to work with large volumes of documents.

Therefore, this indicator is not as important as in the work of a large office.

Usually the average speed is 10 pages per minute, the maximum speed is about 35 pages. The first page prints in an average of 24 seconds, a photo takes about 44 seconds.

Copying speed is 4-5 pages.

  • Printing on discs. Thanks to this option, you can print color images on CDs, which will allow you to organize your audio recordings. If there is no need for a function, it is better not to overpay.
  • Types of cartridges. Many models are equipped with cartridges that can be easily refilled independently using syringes. This is a very economical option, because... Buying them every time is too expensive.

The continuous ink supply system (CISS) allows efficient use of device resources. It helps reduce costs, is easy to install and is easy to operate.

To install the CISS, you need to pierce the cartridges, pour ink into the containers and run a cable between the inks.

Original cartridges from manufacturers are expensive, but they are most often found in the latest modifications. In addition, new models often have special chips installed that block the used cartridge after a certain time.

This is an unnecessary expense that can be avoided by purchasing refillable ink tanks.

Printers can have a built-in print head or an external print head. The first type will cost much less.

  • Ink. Printers can use water-soluble and pigment inks. Water-soluble ink contains water, dyes, and additives that ensure paint durability.

The disadvantage is that they are blurry on plain paper. Water-soluble inks can only be used on special coated paper.

Pigment inks are made up of pigments that do not dissolve in water. This paint is not afraid of moisture, light, or mechanical influences.

But at the same time, the images in the photographs are not very bright. Pigment inks are used on any paper, because... do not absorb, sticking to the surface.

To prevent the ink from drying out, you should print one sheet at least once a week. If drying does occur, you need to clean the print heads yourself; this is quite difficult to do at home.

If the head is damaged, the quality of work deteriorates: blurriness and spots appear.

  • Cartridge self-cleaning system. Many models have a self-cleaning system for cartridges. Typically, printers undergo a cleaning procedure every time they are turned on.

Consequently, if you do not turn on the device for a long time, the paint in the containers dries out and is very difficult to clean. On some printers, this process occurs according to a programmed schedule, even if there is no connection.

In this case, the procedure is almost silent.

  • Resource. For a home, the optimal option is 1000 pages per month. For large offices, this figure can range from 3,000 pages for black and white printing and up to 6,000 pages for color.
  • Scanning. When choosing, you need to carefully study the technical characteristics of the built-in scanner. For home use, a resolution of 600-1200 dpi is sufficient.

For office work you need 2400 dpi. Scanning speed is also important. This indicator can be checked upon purchase.

Scanners come in flatbed and broach types. The flatbed type is based on glass on which the document to be scanned is placed. A photo sensor located under the glass reads information while moving.

The scanner can even process an entire book. This is an ideal option for home.

A broach scanner is equipped with a fixed photo sensor; the document being scanned moves, making it impossible to work with a large amount of material. The best option is a combined scanner.

  • Permission. For printers, the optimal resolution for perfect images is 4800x600.
  • Connection interface. Common connection types:
  1. Ethernet
  2. Wi-Fi.

Ethernet and Wi-Fi allow you to connect the MFP via a local network to all devices without a computer. This means that there is no need to use wires when connecting. You can work through a smartphone, or a flash card.

  • Paper tray. Modern models have two or even several trays, which allows you to simultaneously print on paper and on photo paper or an envelope.
  • Noise during operation. The multifunction device should operate silently. If the printer makes a lot of noise, then it is not a good option to buy.

To check the indicator, you can ask the sales consultant in the store to make a test copy and printout.

  • Electricity consumption. In operating condition, the printer consumes about 10 W, in standby mode - 0.7-2 W. Some models use sleep mode, which will make it possible to reduce electricity consumption.

  • Display. Multifunctional devices are usually equipped with a touch screen, which greatly simplifies control. The choice of control panel depends on individual preferences and does not affect the operation of the device.
  • Design. The modern market offers a huge variety of multifunctional devices. It would be useful to pay attention to the quality of the plastic from which it is made.

When choosing models with glossy surfaces, you need to remember that they require more careful maintenance.

Design is associated with a subjective factor that depends on individual preferences and does not in any way affect the functional features of office equipment.

  • Package. The design of the box does not affect the technical characteristics of office equipment.

More than five centuries have passed since the invention of the first printing press. During this time, technologies, means, and methods of printing have changed, but the only thing that has remained unchanged is the desire of a person to see what is printed. The word “printer” has become so firmly established in everyday life that even a preschooler can understand it. And if older people still remember their coursework and diplomas printed on a matrix printer, then the current generation divides printers into inkjet and laser. Let's talk about the latter.

Which company's laser printers are better?

There are more than a dozen popular manufacturers of laser printers. The undeniable leader in the number of models in this segment is the company Hewlett-Packard. HP printers are reliable, easy to use, and a wide range of prices and capabilities makes them accessible to every group of consumers. Unfortunately, the company's original cartridges are also leaders, but only in terms of their cost and the availability of good protection against any alternative.

In terms of reliability and popularity of HP products, the company's printers are not inferior Canon, Xerox, Brother. These are time-tested brands, and they maintain their brand with dignity.

Those who want more freedom of choice can pay attention to laser printers from Japanese manufacturers Kyocera, OKI, Konica Minolta, Ricoh - among them there are very interesting examples, but maintenance will cost much more.

Samsung previously also operated as a manufacturer of printing equipment, but decided to sell this business and focus on other areas.

We do not recommend being tempted by the cheapness of laser printers from unknown brands. Too many difficulties arise during repeated refills and in case of their premature failure.

LED printers - one step ahead

It is worth noting that in recent years an increasing share of the laser printer market has been captured by devices based on a different technology - LED. There are several fundamental differences between LED and laser printers.

  1. The print heads of such devices do not have moving parts, therefore they are more reliable and less noisy.
  2. The light rays here are an order of magnitude shorter than laser beams and do not electrify the air with the release of ozone.
  3. LED printers are much more compact, especially color models.

Finally, information security issues can sometimes be of decisive importance. Having the necessary equipment, it costs nothing to restore the “image” of a document printed by a laser printer using characteristic radio emission. For LED devices, this approach is fundamentally impossible.

In this article we will look at printers - about - devices that can not only print, but also make copies and send faxes - we have already written.

There are many options, it remains to figure out which laser and LED printers presented on the Russian market are considered the best at the end of 2019?

Usually, cheap laser MFPs are bad - you can find a lot of shortcomings in them, which are primarily explained by their low price, which, however, is logical. However, we are not interested in unworthy models. We have compiled a rating of the best cheap MFPs with positive customer reviews.

1st place – Brother DCP-1510R

The Brother DCP-1510R MFP, priced at $112, deservedly takes first place. This model is cheap, and its width is only 38.5 cm, which makes it compact and allows you to install it in a place where no other MFP would fit.

Characteristics: One of the main parameters is resolution. For a scanner/printer/copier it is 600x1200/2400x600/600x600 dpi, which is pretty good. The MFP is equipped with a 1000-page cartridge - it is inexpensive, but it can also be refilled. Therefore, the printer is not only cheap for the buyer to purchase, but also has a low cost of ownership.

The device collects positive reviews and buyers often note its reliability. Over the course of 3-4 years of use, there are no problems with the device, which allows us to place it in first place in this rating.

2nd place – Brother DCP-1512R

And again, a laser MFP from Brother costing $133. This is an excellent model with a fairly good print speed - up to 20 pages per minute - and a good printer resolution of 2400x600 dpi.

The device is equipped with a cartridge with a resource of 1000 pages. Although the resource is small, it can be refilled many times. This is what makes the cost of owning an MFP low, which fully meets our criterion.

It is worth noting that many users speak negatively about this model, because... it has certain disadvantages: the absence of a digital panel, which is usually used to set the number of copies. There is also no tray for storing paper, and the model is also noisy.

However, despite the shortcomings, the model is worth the money, and we can recommend it as one of the best.

3rd place – Xerox WorkCentre 3210N

Unlike previous models, this is a more functional MFP: in addition to a printer and copier, it even has a fax. The MFP costs only $105, which is cheap for a device with similar functionality and high performance – up to 50,000 pages per month. Of course, this is an office model.

The printer resolution is 600x600 dpi, speed is 24 pages per minute. The same goes for the copier. As a consumable, there is a scanner with a large resource - 2000 pages, and there is also an Ethernet port that allows you to turn the MFP into a network device.

Let's talk about the main thing right away: you can buy non-original cartridges for this MFP, which are cheap and can be refilled. The device itself prints/scans efficiently and quickly, but there are also disadvantages: large dimensions, there may be “glitches” when using low-quality paper (you only need to buy high-quality paper, but it costs a little more).

4th place – Samsung Xpress M2070

This is a laser black/white MFP with a print resolution of 1200x1200 dpi and a productivity of up to 10,000 pages/month.

It is equipped with a cartridge with a resource of 1000 pages. In their reviews, many buyers complain about problems with refilling this cartridge. It is chip-based, and refilling requires special chips, which are very rare. So there may be problems with refueling. In addition, the cost of refilling will cost approximately 1000-1500 rubles, which is quite expensive. So even though this MFP is cheap, the cost of ownership remains quite high, which is by no means an advantage.

Otherwise, the model copes with its task and prints/scans well.

5th place – Ricoh SP 200S

An excellent multifunctional device from Ricoh that costs $122. It is intended for a small office and has a performance of up to 20,000 pages per minute. The speed is 22 pages per minute.

The printing resolution is 600x600 dpi for the copier and 1200x600 for the printer. It comes with a 1,500-page cartridge and is easy to refill. There is even a special hole through which toner is poured, and this is very pleasing. Thanks to this solution from Ricoh, operating costs become low and the cost per print is greatly reduced. At the same time, it scans perfectly and has high quality printouts. Without a doubt, this is one of the best cheap laser MFPs.

6th place – Ricoh SP 111SF

And again an MFP from Ricoh, but this time more expensive - for $136. It is designed for small offices and has a capacity of up to 10,000 pages per month. Printing resolution is 1200x600 for the printer and 600x600 for the copier. There is a fax machine, which may be a deciding factor for some buyers.

It uses a cartridge with a resource of 2000 pages. The toner for this model is inexpensive, and you can refill it into the cartridge yourself - there is nothing complicated about it - customers write about this in reviews. With a fairly large resource and the ability to refill the cartridge yourself, the cost of ownership is significantly reduced.

The rest is also good: this is a reliable and high-quality printer/scanner/copier/fax, which is reliable and has practically no problems.

7th place – Samsung Xpress M2070FW

Not the cheapest, but a very good MFP for $150 with a wi-fi interface and an ethernet port. This device is for a small office, and its productivity is 10,000 pages per month.

The print resolution of the copier and printer is 1200x1200 dpi, the scanner is also 1200x1200 dpi. A distinctive feature is the ability to print on almost any media: films, glossy paper, labels, etc. A cartridge with a resource of 1000 pages is used, which can be refilled. However, after each refueling the chip needs to be replaced, so it is not cheap. However, it is still cheaper than buying an original cartridge every time.

Basically, this is an excellent and one of the cheapest laser MFPs, equipped with wi-fi and an ethernet port, which makes the device ideal for the office or even at home.

8th place – Panasonic KX-MB1500

The next representative of the best and budget laser MFPs is the Panasonic KX-MB1500, costing $130. This model has a productivity of up to 5,000 pages per month and a print resolution of 600x600 dpi, which makes it optimal for a small office or home.

The kit includes a 2500-page cartridge that can be refilled. The toner for it is cheap, so the cost of owning this MFP is low. The model is reliable and simple: it works quite quickly and quietly, and most importantly, it copes with its task perfectly.

Possible disadvantages: weak scanner, inconvenient software, and the device sometimes crumples output sheets.

9th place – Samsung Xpress M2070W

For $147 you can also buy a very unusual Samsung Xpress M2070W MFP. This model is for a small office and has a capacity of 10,000 pages per month. The resolution is 1200x1200 dpi for printer and copier.

The device prints on almost any media, including cards, films, glossy paper, etc. Connection is via Wi-Fi, so you can print documents even from your phone.

The cartridge has a resource of 1000 pages - this is not much, but it can be refilled. Depending on the office, the cost can be around 1000-1200 rubles. Therefore, the cost of ownership is not very high.

The model is positively perceived by customers who write good reviews. However, many of them are dissatisfied with the software and the complexity of setup. Users also note the presence of a nasty squeak after printing 20 sheets. Everything else is good. This is a decent and inexpensive model.

h2>10th place – Ricoh SP 111SU/h2>
The last place in our ranking is occupied by the Ricoh SP 111SU, which costs $130. It is intended for a small office and has a productivity of 10,000 pages per month.
