Twitter is one of the oldest social networks, which, although it has lost its trendiness, still remains relevant and in demand. In particular, Twitter is good for quickly distributing links to news and articles, which is why large information resources successfully use it in SMM promotion. The topic of our material today is a basic level: “How to create and design a Twitter account for a company.”

The material will be presented in the form of step-by-step instructions, during which we will go through all the stages of registration together, and also figure out how to give your profile a beautiful appearance without having design skills.

Creating a company Twitter account

Registration

We go to the main page of the service. In the upper right corner we find the button “Registration” and click on it.

Once on the registration page, enter the necessary data, as shown in the screenshot.

After entering your registration data, you must go through verification using your phone number (the same number can be used for several accounts) and confirm it using the code received in SMS.

Then you need to choose a username. Choose any free name and if you ever don’t like it, you can change it, however, it is better to choose the same name that you use for other social networks. networks.

Interests, contacts and 20 subscriptions

Twitter welcomes you and asks you to indicate topics of interest. You can specify or skip by clicking on “Details”.

At the next step, it is proposed to send invitations to your contacts from the mail to read your Twitter. We recommend skipping this step, since few people like to receive letters with another offer to subscribe to something; it is better to send an e-mail newsletter to your database.

At the final stage you need to make 20 subscriptions that Twitter offers or find the accounts or people you want to follow yourself.

If you don’t want the email address specified when registering your company’s Twitter account to be inundated with notifications, we recommend that you look at “Settings and Security” - “Email Notifications” and uncheck absolutely all the boxes.

To make a beautiful profile design, go back to the main page and click “Edit profile”

Profile photo

First, let's choose a profile photo. If you have a personal brand, then you need to put your photo, but if this is a company profile, the best choice would be a logo.

Then you need to fill out information about the company. Write a short but informative preview about (use emoji to highlight the most important) how your Twitter will be useful or what the company's mission is. Indicate the city or country in which it is located, the website address, and select the theme color.

Twitter cover or header

The last thing that remains for us is to add a cover or so-called Twitter header. It is necessary to take into account that the dimensions of the hat are 1263 by 320 pixels.

To create this header we will use the site Canva.com. There, in the “Headers for Social Media and Emails” section, there is a template called “Twitter Background”.

Here, using the designer, you can create any “header” for Twitter yourself or make changes to one of the proposed templates.

After the background is ready, all that remains is to make it the cover.

Having finished creating and designing a Twitter account for the company, we need to share the news on this page. On Twitter this happens with the help of short messages ( only 140 characters), which are called tweets. Twitter also supports hashtags, so you can immediately come up with your own branded hashtag by which all your tweets can be found.

The tweet may contain:

  • text (Example: “Hello! There’s a new arrival in our store!”);
  • picture and text;
  • link;
  • geolocation;
  • survey;
  • gif animation.

And all this can be used to attract readers, increase site traffic, improve customer loyalty, receive feedback, and of course, to find new customers!

Now write and publish yours first tweet.

In future publications we will pay special attention to such topics as attracting subscribers, advertising and promotion on Twitter.

Background on Twitter profile design. Free template with markup and ready-made profile header image design from Pauline Cabrera

Background

In February 2014 at twitter.com We started testing a new profile design. It was very reminiscent of the design of Facebook or even Google+. The main feature was its adaptability to different screen sizes.

In April 2015, Twitter officially unveiled the new design to the public. Now we will have to work on our profile again.

Twitter header image template

I don't know how to create, but I know how to use what others create. In this article, I invite you to get acquainted with the Twitter header image template proposed by Pauline Cabrera(Pauline Cabrera) and slightly modified by me to standard.

A special feature of the Twitter header image is the adaptability of its size and proportions to the devices used by the user. It is important for us to know what the user will and will not see.

The following was determined by trial and error: Twitter header image template.

This is also a rather conventional, but close to reality, version of the markup. You may need to customize your design or use the ready-made design I added to the template.

The proposed ZIP archive (1.4 MB) contains a PSD (Photoshop) file. The layer with the markup is placed in a folder Templates. Examples in a folder Example. My version of a header image for Twitter in a folder Design. The Design folder contains several subfolders:

In this case, you will need to give access to the settings of your Twitter account. Everything else will happen automatically.

Hi all!
For a long time now, people on the Internet have begun to talk about the fact that a new design for Twitter accounts will soon appear. And recently (I can’t say exactly when) it happened! Now we have the opportunity to change the old account design to a new one. Many began to be indignant and say that this design is very reminiscent of . And indeed it is. In the new design, our avatar is located on the left, and the header is on top, like on Facebook. Personally, I am satisfied with this type of my Twitter profile. But for those who don’t want my design, Twitter gives the opportunity to stay with the old design. But for how long? This remains a question, because We all remember how VKontakte gave us the opportunity not to use the microblog wall, while some took full advantage of the new functions of the wall. But then one day we all just changed the wall to a microblog. And a wave of indignation rolled in, and the inscription “Durov, return the wall!” filled out the entire contact. Then, of course, some concessions were made and some functions were changed. But users never received the old wall.
It seems to me that the same will happen with Twitter. I think after a while the old design will be completely removed and only the new will be left.
So let's immediately stock up on beautiful hats and avatars.

New Twitter design. Header and avatar sizes

So according to the new standards in twitter header It is recommended to put the image in size 1500 to 500 pixels.
Avatar in turn, it is recommended to set the size 400 to 400 pixels.
The avatar is quite large compared to the same Facebook. So there is room to turn around =)

What else is new in this design?
In the same update, we are given the opportunity to pin one tweet at the top of our profile. As for me, this is some kind of status. In principle, this is a useful thing. Especially if you have some kind of corporate microblog on Twitter, then you can attach the most interesting offers, competitions or promotions at the top so that every Twitter user who visits your profile can see the most interesting information.

Attach Tweet very simple. All you need to do is click on the three dots below the tweet and select “Attach to your profile page”

A pinned tweet will appear in a larger font than the rest of your feed, making it hard to miss.

We have also changed the display of the “hot topics of the day” and “like-in-spirit” blocks. Now they are on the right.
In principle, I like the new design of Twitter. Quite comfortable, and most importantly, now there is room to expand - the header will be larger than on Facebook! In the meantime, we have not introduced any restrictions on images and text on the header - you can write all sorts of calls to action on it, or again voice some promotions, or write contacts. So let’s use innovations to our advantage! =)

Christina was with you,
Have a nice day to all of you!

In this tutorial I'll show you how to create an interesting geometric design with your photos that you can use in your Twitter header.

1. Analyze the layout

Twitter uses a floating background that adapts to different screen resolutions. Because of this, it is quite difficult to calculate which area of the header the user will see on a particular device. Fortunately, there are certain recommendations that will allow us to get rid of unnecessary work. Twitter recommends a header image of 1500 x 500 pixels. However, the image will still be reduced by the system to 1263 x 421 pixels, but I think it's wiser to stick to the official recommendations.

Step 1

Open Photoshop and go File - New(File - New) (Ctrl+N). Call the new document “Twitter Header” and install Width(Width) by 1500 pixels, and Height(Height) - 500 pixels. Resolution(Resolution) - 72 pixels/inch, leave the background white.

Step 2

Let's move on View - NewGuide(View - New Guide) and create guide lines. First, set the vertical one and enter the value 317 pixels. Then we create another vertical guide with a value of 1188 pixels. Thus, we divided the working canvas into three columns. The central area will be displayed on mobile devices. Therefore, it is important to consider these guidelines when developing your hat design.

2. Draw a triangular mesh

Pictures look much more interesting when using a geometric design than when placing them in a line. However, many artists don't want to bother with pixel-by-pixel alignment of lines and angles. But I will show you a few tricks on how to achieve the desired angle of the lines without wasting time on mathematical calculations and maintaining a beautiful and neat design.

Step 1

Let's take it RectangleTool(U) (Rectangle) and choose any bright color that will stand out against the white background (we will change it later). Click on the work canvas to open the window CreateRectangle(Create a rectangle). In field Width(Width) enter 10 pixels, and in Height(Height) - 900 pixels. Then click OK and move the created rectangle to the right guide.

Step 2

We use PathSelectionTool(A) (Path Selection) to select the rectangle (make sure that in the top tool options bar PathOperations(Contour Operations) is set to AddtoShape(Add to figure)). Let's move on Edit - Copy(Edit - Copy) (Ctrl+C) to copy the shape. Then we move on Edit - Paste(Edit - Paste) (Ctrl+V) to paste the copied rectangle above the original.

Further Edit - FreeTransform(Editing - Free Transform) (Ctrl+T), rotate the copy so that the bottom end touches the lower right corner of the working canvas and intersects the vertical rectangle exactly in the center. The left end of the copy should touch the top of the canvas.

Step 3

Make sure the previous rectangle is still selected, move on Edit - Copy(Edit - Copy) (Ctrl+C) and Edit - Paste(Edit - Paste) (Ctrl+V) to copy the shape. Then Edit - FreeTransform(Editing - Free Transform) (Ctrl+T) and flip the copy horizontally.

Step 4

Activate again PathSelectionTool(A) (Outline Select) to select two diagonal lines. Then we copy and paste them. Activate Free Transform and move the copies so that their left ends touch the left guide line.

Step 5

The copied rectangles are still on the clipboard, so press Ctrl+V again to paste a new copy. We move them to the left to the very edge of the working canvas so that a triangle is formed from the lines. Make sure the rectangles connect at the top and bottom ends to the adjacent lines on the right.

Step 6

All we have to do is add a vertical rectangle on the left side. Copy and paste the vertical line and move the copy to the left guide.

3. Create triangles for photos

The grid we created will serve as a border between the photos that will be placed underneath it. Thanks to a properly constructed grid, all photos will be at the same distance. Plus, we don't have to worry about making sure the photos have neat edges because the grid will sit on top of the pictures and hide any imperfections.

Step 1

Name the layer with the mesh BorderLines(Grid) and press the button LockAll(Lock All) in the Layers panel so you don't accidentally change this layer while working on your photos.

Step 2

Click on the background layer to deselect the layer BorderLines(Net). Then we take PenTool(P) (Pen) mode Shape(Shape) and set a fill color that will stand out against the white background and grid. Draw a triangle in the upper left corner. Make sure it is under the mesh.

Step 3

It is important that PathOperations(Path Operations) in the Tool Options Bar was set to NewLayer(New Layer). Thanks to this, each new triangle will be created on a separate layer. Let's draw a second triangle to check that everything works as it should.

Step 4

We continue drawing triangles until we fill the entire mesh. You should have 12 triangles.

Step 5

Unlocking a layer BorderLines(Grid) and change the outline color to white.

4. Add a photo

Having finished with the triangles, we begin to integrate photographs into the composition. The most difficult thing is to determine which photo to add in which place so that everything looks beautiful and harmonious. Fortunately, this technique allows us to freely experiment with the size and placement of photographs.

Step 1

First, select the shape on top of which we will add the photo. Then we move on File - PlaceEmbedded(File - Place built-in) and select our photo. Place it so that it completely covers the triangle.

Step 2

Let's move on Layer - CreateClippingMask(Layer - Create Clipping Mask) (Alt+Ctrl+G) to transform the photo layer into a clipping mask for the triangle. At the same time, the photo remains completely independent and is available for editing. Thanks to this, we can place it the way we want without worrying about unnecessary details.

Step 3

We continue the process of adding a photo and converting it into a clipping mask until all 12 shapes are filled.

5. Final effects

Due to the wide variety of photos, such a design can look chaotic and incoherent. And the lack of consistency in the composition can be confusing for the viewer. Therefore, we will add a few additional effects that will help us create a cohesive design.

Step 1

Activate the topmost layer with the photo in the layers panel. It should be located immediately below the layer BorderLines(Net). Then we move on Select - ColorRange(Selection - Color Range). In the drop down menu Select(Select) choose Reds(Red) and activate the option Invert(Invert). This way we will select all the shades except the red ones.

Step 2

Add an adjustment layer Layer - NewAdjustmentLayer - GradientMap(Layer - New Adjustment Layer - Gradient Map). Photoshop will automatically apply the selection from the previous step to the adjustment layer mask. This means that the gradient effect will be applied to the entire image except the red areas.

Step 3

On the panel Window - Properties(Window - Properties) open the drop-down list with a choice of gradients, click on the gear icon there and select the Photographic Toning gradient. In the dialog box that appears, click the button Append(Add) to add new gradients to the current list.

Scroll to the very bottom of the list of gradients and select Sepia-Blue 2.

Step 4

Set the adjustment layer's opacity to 60% to reduce the effect.

Step 5

Hold down the Alt key and go Layer - MergeVisible(Layer - Merge Visible) (Shift+Ctrl+E) to create one merged layer. Let's decolorize it Image - Adjustments - Desaturate(Image - Adjustments - Desaturate) (Shift+Ctrl+U).

Step 6

Set the layer blending mode to Screen(Lighten) and reduce the opacity to 30%. Then we move on Filter - Blur - GaussianBlur(Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur) and set Radius(Radius) by 5 pixels. This will give the entire composition a soft focus effect.

Step 7

Let's move on File - ExportAs(File - Export as) and select the JPG format. We set the quality to the lowest possible level, at which too noticeable distortions do not appear in the picture. The smaller the file weight, the faster it will load on your profile page. After saving, go to Twitter and update the page header.

To create a Twitter profile header like this, it's important to use the same shading and soft focus effect. Apply a Gradient Map adjustment layer with similar settings and create a merge layer with a slight blur.

This is a fairly universal design that can be used with any photographs of any subject.

A beautiful geometric design is a great way to make your Twitter profile stand out. In this tutorial, you learned how to use a few tricks to create perfect angles without any math. After that, we added a collection of photographs and applied several additional effects in the form of shading and soft focus to make the composition look cohesive.

Hello, dear readers of the blog site! As I have repeatedly noted, there can be no trifles in promoting a blog or website, including one created on the WordPress CMS. Everything is important: SEO (internal and external optimization), SMO and SMM (promotion on social networks).

And the latest trends are such that there is a rapid increase in the importance of social networks for the development of a project, since search engines pay increased attention to social signals. The data obtained in this way is increasingly taken into account when ranking.

Twitter is not lagging behind in this sense (about registration, setting up an account and using Twitter). Therefore, it is very important to spend a little time designing the background, header, and choosing the right photo or avatar. In general, work on the design to attract the attention of potential subscribers. I think that for ordinary users the following information will not be superfluous.

By the way, from other articles you can learn how, as well as how to create and upload pictures for a VK avatar () and how to use the numerous opportunities for listening to music, watching videos, drawing graffiti on VKontakte (), using programs and applications of this largest social network. networks in RuNet.

How to change (add) photos and headers for Twitter

When someone on Twitter opens your profile, the first thing they notice is the design of your account page. If the design is standard, set by default, this will not serve as a repulsive moment, because for some reason the person came to your page, most likely he was hooked by some tweet or message.

In this case, first of all, he will get acquainted with your news feed, the number of subscribers and other useful information. But imagine that you are, say, a web designer, and the Twitter header, background or theme of your profile do not represent anything outstanding. In this case, the person who was planning to place an order may be put off by this circumstance.

Of course, it’s not a fact that every potential client will leave this Twitter page without hesitation, but, you see, in such cases, every user is important. But if the background on Twitter, the same photo or a beautifully designed header amazes the imagination with its uniqueness, this may be the decisive factor to turn to such a master. I hope you understand why I'm rambling here. Well, now let’s first look at how to add a photo to Twitter or change it.

So, to quickly edit a photo and write brief information about yourself, click on the “Edit Profile” button located immediately under the header on the right, after which the editing mechanism will immediately be activated and you will be able to perform the necessary actions (upload a photo to Twitter or delete it, enter brief information about yourself and your website, and also indicate your location if desired:

You can also change the color of the theme (links, background of icons, icons). After you click on Twitter headers. After clicking on “Edit profile”, in addition to editing the data described above, you will be able to change the header images. For this purpose, you can upload a suitable image from your computer:

You should keep in mind the recommendation that it is advisable to maintain the image resolution (1500x500). If you ignore this limitation, the header image may not look as desired. By the way, you can successfully create a picture for a header using an online editor, which is essentially a simplified version of Photoshop.

The material, which you will access via the link provided, describes all the features of this program. If you don’t want to strain yourself, you can download an image from the Internet, and then, after processing it, including adjusting the dimensions in a graphics editor (I myself often use the program in such cases), then upload it to Twitter.

How to change background on Twitter

As with the header, the background or themes for Twitter can be created in several ways, including using a ready-made image that you have on your computer. Below we will look at how to change without unnecessary headaches, having ready-made themes, including through the application available for these purposes.

Select background directly from your account

Now, first, let’s work a little on the design of the page and see how to set images for Twitter on the background using the sample themes available directly in the account options and give it uniqueness, this is also of considerable importance. In the top menu, click on the avatar with your photo, then from the context menu select “Settings”:

A list of options will appear on the left side of the account window, in which we find the “Design” section, to which we go:

You can select an image from those offered. In this case, changing the background for Twitter is very quick and easy - you just need to left-click on the picture you like. The selected background will be applied immediately. Going through the pictures in this way, then, after choosing the final version, do not forget to save the changes using the button located at the very bottom. Below is a block with which you can upload your own picture:

You can upload a small image and then check the Tile option. This will allow you to get a background with multiple repetitions of the loaded image, which sometimes looks very impressive. There is also a setting for the background position (left, center, right), its color and the color of the links. To select a shade, left-click directly on the colored rectangle, a color palette will appear, which you can use. Here's how to change the background on Twitter, as you can see, it's not complicated.

Choosing a Twitter Theme Using the Colourlovers App

If you have noticed, Twitter offers various applications that are located in the section of the same name on the left, including those designed to simplify and speed up the editing of various elements. If you look carefully at the previous screenshot, you will see at the very bottom of the topic block a link to the option Themeleon for Twitter by Colourlovers app..

Once on the page of this service, you can simplify your actions with the variety of themes and backgrounds offered there. To do this, you need to synchronize your Twitter account with Colourlovers.com. Click on “Login to Twitter”, as a result of which a warning sign will appear with information about what the application can and cannot do when accessing part of the data:

Click on “Authorize”, after which you will be redirected again to the Themeleon Colourlovers page, but with your profile on it. This will greatly speed up editing and simplify the selection of available backgrounds and themes. Unfortunately, the application is in English, so I will have to give some explanations of the possible options. So, let's go in order:

At the very top is a collection of themes. To select, simply click on it with the left mouse button, as a result of which the image will be immediately applied as a background image. The same image will appear in the Background block located just below on the left. Here, by the way, you can choose to use various patterns instead of the proposed theme, a collection of which is located in the “Patterns” tab.

I note that using a theme for Twitter entails not only setting the selected image, but also automatically editing other elements, for example, the color of links. In addition, you can upload your image by selecting the file and clicking “Upload”. Don't want to use the picture? No problem, just click on the appropriate area for this purpose. Then you can simply use the color palette in the “Layout” tab to get a background without images:

Select the desired palette collection from the drop-down menu to create your theme, click on the desired option and immediately see the changes that have occurred. By the way, by clicking on the lower five squares one by one, you can also change the shades of all other design elements (background, links, etc.).

That's probably all. In conclusion, I will explain the meaning of the buttons located between the “Background” and “Layout” blocks:

  • Undo - to cancel, that is, to go one step back. This is if you want to cancel the previous option.
  • Shuffle layuot colors - shuffle the appearance colors.
  • Apply layout colors to background colors - convert appearance colors to background colors.
  • Apply background colors to the layout colors - the reverse operation: converting background colors to appearance colors. By the way, this operation is not possible if you decide to use a ready-made Twitter theme from the top collection.

As an example, I’ll give you my
