If you, like me, love to read Sputnik and Pogrom, but do not have the opportunity to support the authors of the project and afford to spend $50 a year, then this article is for you. After reading 5 articles, the site will notify us that nothing in this world comes for free. Creators of quality content are gradually starting to switch to paid subscriptions to materials

For free reading you will need:

In this article I will do everything in the Google Chrome Browser; in Firefox, in theory, everything is similar. I also suspect that browsers based on Chromium (Yandex.Browser, [email protected], Rambler Nichrome and others) can also install extensions from the Google catalog

1. Install AdBlock

(If you already have the Adblock Plus plugin installed, skip this step.)

and go to the AdBlock for Google Chrome download page

At the top right, click + Free and wait for a window to appear notifying you about the successful installation of ABP

2. Read for Free

For a paid subscription, the site uses a popular WordPress plugin - TinyPass. Without going into details, we can say that this is a JS stub on top of the main content. Then we will remove it.

Go to AdBlock - Settings

Social networks, which are still popular, have opened up great scope for the intellectual activity of citizens interested in politics. Amateur Internet media have appeared, operating only on VKontakte, without having independent websites, which does not prevent such media from being quite popular.

One of the notable resources of this kind is the so-called “ Sputnik and pogrom" It was founded by Yegor Prosvirnin (in LiveJournal - nomina_obscura ). Egor’s conceit and show-off are colossal: “I shape people’s consciousness. And their consciousness shapes their actions. And their actions shape the surrounding reality. The real result is that the first Russian people appeared in the world. With a Russian consciousness, a Russian worldview.”.

The name immediately seems strange. What “satellite”? Egorka has nothing to do with the aerospace industry. What kind of “pogrom”? Egor Prosvirnin is a typical Internet resident, overweight, a fan of computer games (he used to write for the gaming magazine “Gaming”), he can only go to the pogrom with a mouse in his hands in some Warhammer.

In general, the “first Russian man” Yegorka Prosvirnin began cheerfully - during the winter protests of the opposition he defended angry national democratic tendencies, fiercely denounced the Putin regime, and energetically criticized the leaders of the white ribbon activists for leaking the popular protest. But then the elections ended, and Yegorka rushed from politics into history - he began to write a lot about Tsarist Russia and bark about the Soviet past. “Sputnik and Pogrom” (let’s call it more precisely “Laughter and Shame”) joined the ranks of whistleblowers of the syphilitic Ulyanov-Blank and the bloody Georgian Dzhugashvili.

However, topics for articles quickly ran out, so it is now necessary to hold the attention of readers with historical fantasies (“The bigger the lie, the more willingly they believe in it”), so the more Prosvirnin spreads rot about the communist past, the more he moves away from common sense. And then I chatted away.

When the Czechs launched the Prague Uprising in May 1945, they thought that the Germans would surrender - May 45, why fight. The Wehrmacht really had no desire to die in the last big battle of World War II (Berlin fell, Hitler was dead, it was all over), but SS Gruppenführer Pückler gave orders to the Kampfgruppen subordinate to him from soldiers of the SS division “Wallenstein” and the most elite regiment “Der Führer” SS Panzer Division "Das Reich" to destroy Prague, as they destroyed Warsaw (German aviation received the same order from the Ruzinsky airfield, where the latest Me 262 jets were based, among other things). The Black Guard of the NSDAP understood that, unlike the Wehrmacht, at best (at best!) the gallows awaited them and wanted to show off one last time (so you understand the level of madness: Gruppenführer Pückler continued to fight in earnest until May 12, declaring that unconditional surrender was not for him decree, after which he shot himself).

The Czechs, freaked out by this turn of events (on the one hand - “Tigers”, jet “Messerschmitts”, selected Nazi fanatics who have nothing to lose, on the other hand - a hodgepodge of police officers and firefighters with one revolver for three of them, “the situation has developed, let’s face it , awkward") began sending out calls for help in all the major languages of the world. Contacts between Czech rebels and American officers are clearly recorded. General Patton's Third Mechanized Army was stationed 70 kilometers from Prague - that's two, well, three hours' drive. General Patton's third mechanized army did not come to the aid of dying Prague - and another beautiful Slavic capital would have repeated the fate of Warsaw, crushed by a German boot, but... but, fortunately, the Russians were nearby.

Vlasovites.

Traitors.

Geeks.

They rushed into the last major bayonet attack on the “SS Black Guard”. And the black guard, unable to withstand the pressure and rage of the Russian bastards, ran, deciding that even for Nazi fanatics the rage of the Russian bastards was too much.

Punish the Czechs - yes. To wheeze with your belly ripped open by a Russian bayonet on the banks of the Vltava - no.

Darth Maul, as we know, embodies anger and indignation - Russian anger and indignation that the memory of the Russian saviors of Prague has been betrayed, cursed and forgotten. This is a still from the second part of our epic about how the Russians saved Prague - and if you open the czar.chat website right now and subscribe, you will be included in the credits of this video.

And if you don’t open it and design it, we’ll still finish filming and releasing this episode, even if we have to film it in our living room, putting together costumes out of shit and sticks.

For there must be at least one group of unkind Russians in the whole world who have not forgotten, have not forgiven and have not become silent.

sputnikipogrom

On July 6, 2017, the authorities of the self-proclaimed Russian Federation blocked our website throughout the Russian Federation.

The site was blocked at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office due to the “presence of nationalist materials” without any complaints about specific texts. Please note that there was no trial, examination or anything else - according to the law on pre-trial blocking, any site can be blocked just like that, and only then the editors of the site must go to court and prove something to the self-proclaimed authorities. Moreover, until the trial and the case, the site will still be in the block.

In this regard, we suggest that you use standard means of bypassing blocking. Having installed one of these tools you will get access not only to Sputnik and Pogrom, but also to all sites blocked by the authorities of the self-proclaimed Russian Federation. Below are instructions for desktop computers, smartphones and tablets.

FOR REFERENCE: from a technical point of view, any of the tools below will allow you to open the website sputnikipogrom.com through a VPN - a “virtual private network” located outside the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation.

Your computer connects to the VPN and sends requests through it.

Russian providers only see that you are connected to some server in the USA or, for example, the Netherlands, and no one knows what sites you view through this server (the owners of a foreign server may know about this - but since they are located in the USA or In the Netherlands, where the S&P is not blocked and will never be blocked, they, unlike dear Russians, are not at all embarrassed by your desire to read Sputnik and Pogrom).

1. Opera browser

This browser comes with VPN settings pre-installed. Activating the connection is very simple.

. Download the Opera browser from opera.com. Run the file and allow installation.

. After installation: if you are using Windows, click on the red O icon in the upper left corner and select “Settings”. If you are using a Mac, select Opera - “Settings” in the top menu.

. Go to the "Security" tab. Check the box next to “Enable VPN”.

. In Chrome browser A friGate sign will appear in the upper right corner of the page, indicating that the site is now accessible without blocking.

. In Firefox: if the site is still unavailable, click on the friGate icon in the browser panel, select “Site not from the list” - “Add to list”.

. All!

3. Tor Browser

In addition to access to Sputnik and all blocked sites, this browser gives you access to that legendary “dark internet”, where all the interesting things happen.

We recommend using Tor only if the options above do not suit you for some reason (Tor is easy to use and looks like the Firefox browser, but is much slower than other block bypass tools).

. Make sure your connection is secure, You can click on the onion icon in front of the address bar.

For smartphones and tablets: Opera Free VPN app

There is a completely free Opera Free VPN app for iOS and Android devices.

This application is installed on your smartphone or tablet and runs in the background. You can continue to use your favorite browsers - access to the sites will be provided through one of the servers of the Canadian company SurfEasy, Inc. (a subsidiary of the Norwegian Opera Software - neither the Canadians nor the Norwegians are decreeed by the Russian authorities).

For installation:

. In AppStore (iOS) or Play Market (Android) search for Opera Free VPN.

. Install the application and give it all the requested permissions to install the “VPN profile”.

. Launch the application and make sure VPN is enabled. Open sputnikipogrom.com in your favorite browser. All!

. You can change the region by clicking on the lightning icon ⚡️

Paid VPNs: for any device

In addition to free services, there are also paid ones that provide much higher speed - when you turn on a paid VPN, you will lose no more than 10% of your normal Internet speed.

In fact, our entire editorial team has not been online without a paid VPN for many years.

Of the paid services that we use ourselves, we recommend PrivateInternetAccess (PIA) - for just $3 a month you get excellent speed and laugh at all the blocking restrictions.

Paid VPN works through a small program that is installed on your computer - or through an application on your smartphone or tablet. (one paid account allows you to install PIA on 5 different devices).

When using a paid VPN, your Internet traffic will pass through a foreign server. Neither Russian providers nor PrivateInternetAccess itself will know which sites you visit (PIA does not keep logs of visits).

All installation instructions are available on the PrivateInternetAccess website.

If you don’t understand something, write to their support or to us at [email protected]. We will tell you what and how to install specifically on your system.

If you have any questions, please write an email to [email protected]— our specialists will be happy to help you set up tools to bypass blocking and answer all your questions.

Well, of course, you can give a subscription to Sputnik and Pogrom to your friend, colleague or family member by registering a gift

Again the people are not the same... now for the “Russian nationalists”.

By the way - on October 10, an event happened in the Russian media, one might say, a fateful one - The website “Sputnik and Pogrom” has officially stopped working. A publication that became, one might say, legendary, was economically successful, collected millions of views and even acquired “clubs of C&P readers” in better times. And the readers’ club is, you know, wow... A little more - and from these clubs you can create party cells, and... nothing like that happened.

Why? This is an interesting question... The editor-in-chief and organizer of the entire publication, Yegor Prosvirnin, acknowledged the fact of the end (well, of course, “temporary”) in a huge (as much as 40 thousand characters, not every thick magazine will take such a text) final article, which someone briefly commented and unambiguously sarcastically: “The satellite fell and the rioters fled.”

Which is certainly true, but... we still need to answer two questions - why did the satellite fall and why did the rioters run away?

The answer to the first question, oddly enough, is in the article by E. Prosvirnin himself. It turns out that the culprit (just don’t laugh) is… American imperialism. Or rather, the Tinypass payment system. I quote verbatim:

« The fact is that in the simplest version (which we used, like honest, poor Russians), “Tynipass” did not allow connecting a new domain to the existing subscriber base. ... That is, it was possible to open “The Fellow Traveler and Debosh”, but subscribers would have to be recruited from scratch. ...So we started writing letters to Tinypass asking them to reconnect us to a more expensive tariff - VX, which allows you to add new domains without forcing readers to re-subscribe. “Tynipass” promised to give us VX as soon as possible, but kept dragging its feet, citing some problems with outdated PayPal accounts... After another reply that TP engineers were about to curb the damned ancient “Paypals”... our publisher account was simply cut off. And without explanation or warning.»

Well, that is, American imperialism has let us down. He didn’t, you know, support the technically heroic fighters against the regime. Even for their own money. Surprising, yes, sir... Abroad once again did not help - what a surprise...

Anyway. This is, after all, a technical question. But there is also a question, in Prosvirnin’s words “conceptual”. That is, to put it simply, “where did the rioters run away”?

And here's the quote again:

« If it weren’t for our great art director Leonid, who constantly saves and re-saves everything everywhere, we would have found ourselves completely naked, even without the e-mails of the 15,000 people who have bought a subscription at least once.»

And here - stop. It turns out that 15,000 is not even the number of M&P subscribers, but the total number of those who “have bought a subscription at least once.” That is, in reality, the great and terrible M&P with millions of hits and hundreds of thousands of views had, at best, 7 to 8 thousand permanent subscribers who were ready to pay real money for texts provirninsky with the company?

Well, gentlemen... 7-8 thousand subscribers - this, excuse me, is the level of a high-quality paper tabloid in a city with a population of one million. For an online publication that claims to reach an all-Russian (or even - take it higher! - worldwide Russian) audience, these are just tears.

Of course, it’s time for Prosvirnin to complain that such and such a bloody regime blocked the site... and then its mirror... that’s why visits and views on it dropped by an order of magnitude. This explanation may even work... until you start reading the comments under the article.

« People are not interested in M&P, and there is no content. But there is no content because there are no authors. But they are not there because the editor-in-chief quarreled with everyone, etc.»…

« It's not a matter of blocking the site, but a lack of suitable content. 95% should be news and politics and some texts about planning the future for Russia and Russians. But nothing - just boring longreads, more like dissertations».

« I paid until next March for a subscription... There is nothing easy to read. M&As are generally outside the modern context»…

That is, the situation is extremely banal: the texts of the great and terrible C&P have simply become uninteresting to readers. The same readers who, in fact, in 2014 were ready to go to Donbass as volunteers and collect humanitarian aid for the militia for a penny. And don’t even remember how Mr. Prosvirnin, back on February 3, 2014, in an interview with Ukro-TV, was delighted about a certain “Russian Nazi” he met in Kiev, who came from Russia to the Maidan to fight in the order of the “Slavic brotherhood” with the Yanukovych regime.

However - here's an incident! - For some reason, normal Russians at home categorically did not want to follow the example of that Nazi sycophant. This made Mr. Prosvirnin extremely upset. Well, yes, again the people were not the same. For some reason, he didn’t want to destroy his own country to satisfy the aesthetic preferences of Mr. Prosvirnin, who (together with his valued K. Krylov) no, no, and let slip about “June 22 is the day of vengeance.” By the way, that one text from 2013 would have been enough for a full-scale blocking of C&P and for the completely deserved imprisonment of its author. But no... The authorities then turned out to be patient and too tolerant... and allowed “Sputnik and Pogrom” to die on their own. The earth is glassy to him.

PS. There is other information on monetization: “ at its peak, S&P had only two and a half thousand subscribers via pay-wall". This is despite the fact that in order to simply leave a comment on the website of “Russian nationalists”, you had to pay to New York. I'm not kidding.

So a subscription to “Shmotnik and Pogrom” never gave any significant money. The project existed on external money. They stopped giving us money - the project ended.
