It would seem that there are only three options, but choosing a color for yourself is more difficult than it seemed. However, this year we have the following popularity rating:
- GOLD;
- SILVER;
- BLACK.
You may not agree with me on this, but now I will explain my point of view in detail. After all, there is always a logical explanation for absolutely everything.
Let's take Gold. The most spectacular and unusual iPhone 8/8 PLUS this time is Gold. Thanks to the glass, there are some shimmer issues. 
It’s also worth noting that this is a happy medium between last year’s Gold and Rose Gold. The color is very delicate and most importantly, it will suit absolutely anyone.

Let's take Silver. Also quite non-standard this time was Silver, which was always behind. The glass case changed this position simply instantly.

Personally, I liked the girly version the most in the new line - gold looks gentle and beautiful, the option was a great success. Although Apple previously offered a universal golden option - in principle, both men and women chose it. But a soft pink, cream iPhone in a man’s hands is already a kind of fantasy, definitely a woman’s decision.
What about Space Gray? Gray space, in my opinion, has been spoiled. It is no longer as beautiful as it used to be, like the iPhone SE or iPhone 6s Plus, it had a more interesting shade.
iPhone 8 Plus, matte 7 Plus and glossy 7 Plus The third option is silver color. It didn’t evoke any feelings at all, neither joy nor disappointment, it didn’t hook me at all. Personal choice
In short, the new colors of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus upset me, I was waiting for something more interesting, continuing to use my iPhone 7 Plus Jet Black without cover. Yes, it’s already over a year old, it’s covered in scratches, but I still really like it, it has a nice smooth gloss. It is somewhat similar to a large polished stone, I tried walking with 8 Plus - it didn’t feel the same at all, I came back.
I bought the 7 Plus only because last year, when I saw the iPhone 7 in red, I realized that it was not quite the red color I had dreamed of. In general, I love orange, but Apple only makes watch straps and iPhone cases in this shade, without the risk of producing smartphones in such a bright color.
Unusual seven
We still have the red iPhone, it became the hero of the video, they “transplanted” it with a black front from another iPhone, it was such an unusual phone, a kind of blogger exclusive.

I just want a red iPhone, as bright as a Ferrari, why can't Apple make it red? As a Smart Cover or a strap for Apple Watch, they know how to select shades for accessories!
The black and red iPhone 8 looks more aggressive than the white and red version of last year. In my opinion, it has become better, but this is a matter of taste.
Here's another idea for Apple: make phones with colorful elements. For example, highlight the lens on a black phone with a red insert, or make a black body, but with a red apple. Although if you think about it, it’s already somehow Chinese.
