Delivery and configuration

The LG TONE+ HBS-500 wireless headset comes in a relatively large and quite informative box, which is made of high-quality, medium-density cardboard. In addition to several high-quality images, company logos and icons, here you can find detailed information about all the technical and functional capabilities of the purchased accessory.

Inside the box is a transparent plastic container. Due to its characteristic shape and convenient groove system, it securely holds the headset during transport.

The LG TONE+ HBS-500 delivery kit contains all the necessary list of elements for a quick and comfortable start. It includes: a USB cable, 3 pairs of replacement ear pads, a paper user manual, a warranty card and a WEEE card, which indicates LG's participation in the electronics hazardous waste recycling program.

Appearance, design features

From a design point of view and functionality The headset under review is a slightly simplified version of the more expensive and technically advanced LG TONE+ HBS-730 model, which became the founder of the series. However, having inherited a stylish appearance, the new product also acquired a number of interesting features.

The base of the LG TONE+ HBS-500 case is made of matte black plastic, which is successfully complemented by silver inserts. This material is of high quality and has pleasant tactile properties. In addition, this classic color scheme harmonizes well with any style of clothing, including business when the main headphone module is placed under the collar of a shirt. But when talking or listening to music, the wires will stick out a little due to the way they are attached to the body, which, however, does not create much discomfort.

The headset itself has compact dimensions (168 x 140 x 18.1 mm) and modest weight (29 g), which only accompanies its trouble-free use throughout the day, without noticeable fatigue and other inconveniences. Its design is a small rubber rim with a diameter of 4 mm, in which there is a wire connecting two functional blocks located at the edges. Their shape resembles highly elongated droplets with a largest diameter of 18.1 mm, on which there is a cut edge to accommodate control elements.

Thus, on the left module there is a multifunctional button to end the call and start voice control. When you press it twice, the playback of music tracks begins (Start/Pause), and when you hold it, the pairing mode with an external device starts or the headset is turned on/off.

There is also a small hole for the speaking microphone, and just to the side there is an LED activity indicator and a micro-USB connector for charging the battery. The latter is closed with a thick rubber plug that prevents moisture from entering.

The right module has two volume control buttons, which, when pressed twice, can switch selected songs on the paired device, as well as, if necessary, enable/disable the built-in vibration alert.

In general, this design solution, divided into two functional blocks, allows for good weight distribution, because the teardrop-shaped modules act as weights and prevent the headset from flying off the neck even with fairly active actions.

As for the headphones themselves, in this wireless accessory they use a vacuum-shaped driver and are equipped with three pairs of interchangeable ear pads (small, medium and large). This allows you to choose the ideal option for almost any user.

For ease of use of the headset in the stowed position, there are special grooves on the sides of the functional blocks into which fairly strong magnets are inserted. They securely fix the headphones inside the mount and prevent them from dangling chaotically while walking.

In addition, on the back handle, between the working modules, there are two clips that press the wires (24 cm each) tightly enough to the base, adjusting their length and preventing them from getting tangled.

The build quality of the LG TONE+ HBS-500 deserves only positive feedback. All structural elements fit very tightly: there are no noticeable backlashes or gaps. The overall rigidity of the structure is also high. The rubber headband has good flexibility and does not cause a feeling of concern even with increased pressure or more active use.

Softwaresecurity

A useful addition to the functionality of the LG TONE+ HBS-500 is proprietary software that allows you to fully unleash the potential of the accessory you are reviewing. It has a pleasant and intuitive interface, and also contains a number of very interesting and quite useful features. In particular, with its help, the user can simultaneously connect two paired devices to the headset, control the playback mode of music tracks, set the volume level in one click, and also set up receiving not only text but also voice notifications from the most popular social networks. To do this, you need to install the proprietary Tone & Talk utility and download the audio support package. Unfortunately, the Russian language in this list no, which may become some limitation for residents of our region.

Sound quality

Direct testing of the sound of the headset under review was carried out using a smartphone. All the necessary software was installed on it, and the pairing procedure was carried out several times.

Despite the lack of official information about the size sound drivers, their shape, volume and workmanship left a more than pleasant impression. Due to their simple, but at the same time well-calibrated ergonomics, they are in excellent contact with the auricle and provide clear, deep and very detailed sound throughout the entire available range (there are high, mid and well-defined low frequencies). And thanks to the built-in equalizer with a preset set of settings, the user will be able to quickly switch between musical styles (while holding down the volume buttons) without experiencing discomfort when listening to a variety of compositions.

The headphone volume reserve is sufficient for any conditions of use, including very noisy urban transport environments. For example, by setting the volume level on the headset to the maximum value, on the phone it is quite enough to fix this parameter at 30-35% (5-6 divisions out of 15) in order to listen to music comfortably and not fall out of tune. environment. At the same time, at 60% and above (9-10 divisions), external noise completely disappears from the audio range, which allows you to concentrate on listening to your favorite song or audio podcast.

Using the LG TONE+ HBS-500 as a standard telephone headset also did not cause any complaints. Both from the user's side and from the interlocutor's side, voice transmission was at high level and had a pleasant and clearly distinguishable sound. No interference, extraneous noise or interruptions were observed, which indicates the high quality of the built-in microphone and the good performance of the noise reduction system. However, we should not forget that this indicator primarily depends on the condition of the interlocutor’s phone and the quality of mobile communications.

Testing for reception range and battery life

A rather unusual and in many ways unique design solution when developing the headset made it possible to equip the LG TONE+ HBS-500 with excellent wireless module and a good battery.

During the entire testing period, we did not record even the slightest hint of possible problems with connection or connection stability. Despite the abundance of electromagnetic interference in a modern living space and the presence of natural barriers (doors, walls, ceilings), the headset almost instantly connected to an external device and maintained a high signal level. In the direct line of sight of the paired smartphone, it easily withstood more than 15 m of the declared distance, while in the presence of a small obstacle (window frame or plasterboard partition), the above-mentioned figure was reduced to only 10 m. Even such a significant obstacle as two load-bearing walls could not affect communication quality, but only reduced the wireless communication distance to 5 m.

As for the built-in battery, a non-removable lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 125 mAh is used, which provides a decent level of autonomy. With its help, the LG TONE+ HBS-500 wireless headset can work up to 9 hours in talk mode, up to 7.5 hours when listening to music and up to 500 hours in standby mode. And to fully charge the source uninterruptible power supply, you need to spend a little less than 2 hours of free time connecting the gadget to the USB port of a stationary device.

Results

Without the slightest exaggeration, a wireless headset LGTONE+ H.B.S.-500 is a very interesting and unique mobile accessory. Thanks to the successful development of innovative ideas and many years of experience in the development of high-tech gadgets, a truly sought-after product has been created, which is able to win many loyal fans around the world.

It was Korean engineers from LG who first developed and put into practice the idea with a separate function block. Its implementation made it possible to equip the headset with a reliable wireless communication module and sufficient capacious battery, as well as increase the overall level of comfort.

In addition, due to the use of high-quality materials and high build quality, the reviewed accessory is pleasant to use throughout the whole day without experiencing fatigue or other discomfort.

And, of course, do not forget about the availability of proprietary software for the most popular platforms, which has a number of useful features. By installing it, the user will be able to simultaneously use two paired devices at once, and also receive important notifications in a timely manner in text and voice format.

Based on the above advantages, we can confidently recommend the LG TONE+ HBS-500 wireless headset for purchase to all lovers of extraordinary design ideas and high-quality sound.

Advantages:

  • stylish, innovative design;
  • excellent build quality;
  • comfortable ergonomics;
  • excellent wireless connection, which fully meets the stated parameters;
  • high-quality and loud sound throughout the entire frequency range;

  • good level of autonomy.

We express our gratitude to the Ukrainian representative office of the company LG Electronics for the wireless headset provided for testing.

None of the music lovers would call LG a manufacturer of professional audio equipment. But that doesn't mean all LG headphones sound lousy. On the contrary, some of them produce quite decent sound. Moreover, such headphones most often have a low price tag. Let's take a look at the best models that are available on Russian market. This will make your choice much easier if you are a fan of the South Korean brand.

The best LG wireless headphones

LG Force (HBS-S80) - original earplugs

Now LG Electronics is trying to develop its mobile business. It does this, among other things, by releasing high-quality Bluetooth headsets. LG Force belongs to the plug-in (in-channel) type. These headphones may seem overly large. But they are lightweight - so they stay in the ears very securely. There is also water protection and aptX support. In short, they sound good and work in the rain.

Advantages:

  • The weight does not exceed 27.5 g, which is quite tolerable;
  • Water protection has been introduced - the headphones are not afraid of sweat and rain;
  • There is an ear mount that saves you during sports;
  • There is support for the aptX profile, thanks to which sound is transmitted without compression;
  • The neck cord practically does not interfere;
  • The kit includes a case that simplifies transportation;
  • The headphones are equipped with a microphone.

Flaws:

  • Some people will find these earplugs cumbersome;
  • Water protection is not properly implemented in all copies;
  • Low frequencies do not stand out very much.

LG TONE Infinim (HBS-910) - the headband is not for everyone

Many people love in-ear headphones because they are easy to throw in your pocket. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about LG TONE Infinim. In fact, these are still the same “plugs”, but they are equipped with a special hoop that hangs around the neck. There is no folding mechanism here, so the product will definitely not fit in your pocket. But the headset provides a long operating time. Also, everything is in order here with the sound quality - in this regard, the headphones are superior to everything previously created by LG.

Advantages:

  • The modern Bluetooth 4.1 standard is used;
  • Built-in high-quality microphone;
  • Excellent sound quality;
  • Long battery life - up to 10.5 hours in music playback mode;
  • The headset is made of pleasant to the touch and reliable materials.

Flaws:

  • Very high cost - for headphones they ask for about 8,000 rubles;
  • The headset cannot be called a compact one - it will not fit in a pocket.

LG HBS-500 - simple and high-quality headphones

One of the very first headset models from LG, equipped with a neckband. There are no advanced technologies or unique appearance here. Connection to a smartphone or tablet is via Bluetooth 4.1. The weight of the device was reduced to 29 grams - at some moments the accessory on the neck is almost not felt! As expected, the headset allows you to adjust the volume and answer calls.

Advantages:

  • Automatic pairing supported;
  • There is a vibration alert that does not allow you to miss a call;
  • You can control the volume and answer the call;
  • Used wireless technology Bluetooth 4.1;
  • Comfortable and lightweight design;
  • Fast charging - this process takes about two hours.

Flaws:

  • The range on the street leaves much to be desired;
  • For some reason, the headset vibrates when the signal is lost;
  • The voice notification quickly becomes boring.

The best wired headphones from LG

LG Quadbeat Optimus G is a very inexpensive option

These headphones first started rolling off the assembly line back in the days of the Optimus series smartphones. Buyers immediately liked these “plugs” equipped with a microphone. Now the main advantage of this product is its very low price. For a minimal amount by modern standards, you will get great-sounding headphones. Included with them you will receive several replacement ear pads.

Advantages:

  • Very low price - now you can buy a headset for about 500 rubles;
  • Good sound insulation - even the noise of the subway does not disturb the music;
  • The headphones are equipped with replaceable ear pads;
  • The product can be thrown into your pocket - the headphones are light and small;
  • There is a tiny remote control on the wire with a Pause button;
  • The wires in your pocket hardly get tangled.

Flaws:

  • The manufacturer does not include a case with the device;
  • The microphone built in here is not of the highest quality.

10 Best Wireless Headphones

LG Quadbeat 2 - loud headphones with a familiar design

This accessory should please you with both its volume and comparative purity of sound. Of course, this is not a music lover's product, but you will definitely feel the bass, just as there are no problems with reproducing high frequencies. The device has a flat cable that does not get tangled in your pocket. On it you can find a remote control with three keys. This makes volume adjustment and playback control much easier. You can use these buttons to answer the call.

Advantages:

  • The headphones have a flat cable that is difficult to tangle;
  • There is a microphone that allows you to talk with your interlocutor;
  • There is a remote control with a large number of buttons, making it easier to use the headset;
  • The kit includes replaceable ear pads;
  • The headphones turned out to be quite reliable - a rare buyer complains about damage;
  • Very low impedance - it does not exceed 24 Ohms.

Comparing LG wireless headphones, we looked at the 3 most popular models - they are presented in the same price range, but each has certain distinctive features. Detailed review functions and characteristics will help you make the right choice when purchasing.

Models presented:

LG Tone+ HBS-500

In appearance, the device resembles the HBS-730 model, but the design of the “collar” has undergone certain changes. The durable frame easily bends in different directions, which ensures a long service life. The device looks very stylish, but with prolonged use, certain elements of the headset turn yellow, which spoils the appearance of the product.

Natural voice transmission in any conditions. But the sound is not volumetric enough, as if lifeless - the bass is lost, and high frequencies sound too harsh. These are convenient LG wireless headphones for communication, but not for listening to music tracks, due to the lack of aptX.

Pros:

  1. The control system has been improved - corrugated buttons are convenient for blind control. Tracks are switched using the volume buttons, and the call key has become multifunctional. Initially, this is not very convenient, but with a little practice you can easily learn how to operate the headset;
  2. Increased battery life. Enjoy your favorite songs for 8 hours (at medium volume), talk time - 9.5 hours;
  3. Convenient shape. Reliable lightweight design, easy to fix, does not cause inconvenience.

Minuses:

  1. Weak magnetic fixation. The plastic surface of the grooves made it possible to reduce the cost of the product, but this came at the expense of comfort of use;
  2. Increased size. A controversial disadvantage, as it can also be considered as an advantage - it all depends solely on personal preferences;
  3. Absence additional functions and noise reduction. This is largely justified by the low cost of the product, but on the other hand, this model is inferior to most more advanced analogues presented at a similar price.

LG Tone Ultra

Tone Ultra (HBS-810) are comfortable and functional wireless headphones from LG. At first glance, the wires look rather flimsy, but in fact they are durable and designed for long-term use. The “collar” fits comfortably around the neck, is fixed well and does not dangle, and can be worn on the collar.

Excellent sound quality thanks to the presence of the AptX codec, which becomes a significant advantage in comparison with LG Tone+. Excellent sound, conveys both low and high frequencies well, allowing you to fully enjoy your favorite compositions. Another plus in favor of the HBS-810 is a good microphone. This model is a universal choice for both communication and listening to music.

Pros:

  1. Battery – designed for long-term operation, about 12 hours of listening to music at medium volume. The headset works in talk mode for several days;
  2. Automatic wire rewinding. A feature that makes using the HBS-810 headphones even more convenient - just a slight movement of the hand is enough to fix the cable in the desired position;
  3. Pair with multiple devices. The connection process takes only a few seconds - excellent wireless headphones for LG Smart TV;
  4. Ease of Management. It takes a minimum of time to master the system; everything is quite simple and intuitive.

Minuses:

  1. Lack of moisture protection. This model will not best choice for active training, since even a small amount of sweat can disable it;
  2. Insufficient wire length. According to reviews from the owners, 22 cm is enough right next to each other - this is an obvious flaw of the creators;
  3. Passive noise reduction. Ear pads with additional silicone controls do not cope with this task, which somewhat spoils the sound.

LG Tone Infinim

LG Tone Infinim wireless headphones are distinguished by good build quality and an original design that attracts attention. The lightweight plastic headset is easy to use and the size is suitable for those with a not too massive neck. It is strongly recommended to wear the “collar” only on clothing - the area under it sweats very much, which causes some inconvenience and destroys the soft-touch coating.

The HBS-900 model is not suitable for those who prefer an active lifestyle. Dust, sand, sweat - all this can quickly damage the device. During an active workout, the headphones bounce, which makes it difficult to concentrate on the lesson.

LG Tone Infinim is also suitable as the main headset used for communication. But it is important to remember that during a conversation you will have to turn your head towards the only microphone - the function of blocking echoes and extraneous noise does not fully cope with the task.

When talking in public transport, you will have to raise your voice so that the interlocutor can hear anything.

Pros:

  1. Model HBS-900 – optimal choice for long trips, leisurely walks and sedentary work, providing excellent sound;
  2. Support for the aptX codec, thanks to which any audio composition sounds flawless. An excellent alternative even to wired devices;
  3. Long battery life. The headphones fully comply with the characteristics declared by the manufacturer, and work for about 3 days in the mode of frequent conversations and listening to music at medium volume (3-4 hours a day);
  4. Voice control. It becomes a significant plus, significantly simplifying the process of operating the device.

Minuses:

  1. The fragility of the headset. You should be careful when putting on the headset, and thin wires require maximum care when using;
  2. Minimum equipment. Just a few attachments - no cover or additional inserts.

Conclusion

If you are planning to buy LG wireless headphones, then you should initially decide for what purpose the device will be needed. If this is communication, then it is worth considering the LG Tone+ HBS-500 model, for comfortable listening to music in a quiet mode - LG Tone Infinim. The LG Tone Ultra will be a universal solution, combining functionality and excellent sound.

Definitely recommended for purchase, but don't expect miracles for this price. Beware of Chinese counterfeits on Ebay and Aliexpress. The fakes are similar to the point of indistinguishability; they are only distinguished by poor sound quality and a very short battery life. It is basically impossible to check this when purchasing online. The official one should be preferred retail network. Watch and listen before purchasing.

Advantages:

Excellent sound quality (music and voice transmission, microphone) for a compact wireless headset, long battery life, fast charging, excellent fit on the neck, comfortable and distinct control buttons, multi-point, stylish design, Bluetooth 4.1 LE. The connection is quite stable.

Flaws:

The size of the earplugs themselves is too large, this applies to both their body and the rubber ear pads. They come in 3 sizes, but even the smallest ones are too big for my ears. There could have been a little more bass, especially considering the large size of the speakers themselves. There is no active noise reduction system, which greatly interferes with conversations in windy weather or noisy places. The range is short, no more than 4 meters, but in principle more is not needed.

    The multi-button is a nightmare. Substructure construction in Korean. The fact is that it has 3 functions attached to it at once: on/off, play/pause and dial last call. You need to calculate the pressing time. If you want to turn it off, but did not time the press, the last number is dialed. If you want to press play, it's the same thing. It’s very awkward later in front of friends: I have to explain that “every year on December 31, my friends and I go to the bathhouse.” The worst thing is if you have to explain about the multi-button at night or early in the morning to a very important person. If you communicate a lot on the phone with important people, then in all seriousness, refuse to buy this headset. But for me personally, the most important thing is sound quality. It is at its best, considering that this is a junior model with a “junior” price. The battery lasts a long time. Signal reception distance: 10 m indoors, 15 m outdoors. The headphones do not press or pop out, and you can move your head freely. By the way, this thing can read incoming SMS in Russian - very convenient. I give it a 4 for the sneaky multi-button.

    Advantages:

    decent sound quality
    stylish appearance
    ease of landing
    capacious battery

    Flaws:

    multi-button "on/off/play/call"

    I mostly listen to audiobooks while walking. I almost always use only one earphone, the second one always got in the way, dangled, slipped, etc. This is not the case here. The adjustable length of the wire is convenient, nothing dangles. The sound is quite satisfactory. So far I like it better than the previous SBH50 headset: subjectively more convenient (there are several nice features), it loads faster, holds a charge longer, charges faster. The reason for the replacement was that the clip was broken. I wanted to buy a proven headset, because... Everything was fine, but I decided to experiment with another manufacturer - I was not disappointed.

    Advantages:

    Design, low weight, ease of operation (read the instructions), enough good sound in conjunction with the Xperia Z1 (subjectively), ease of wearing and use. Holds a charge for a long time and charges quickly. Sound notifications about the charge level, about establishing a connection with the phone, about a call and when a call ends.

    Flaws:

    Sometimes the sound stutters - I don’t know why. There is a suspicion that the interlocutors do not hear me very well during a telephone conversation.

    Well, in general, everything is great for the money, but the sound... 4 - in a relatively quiet place, 3+ - in the subway, etc. Places. Hisses at high levels, so -0.5.
    By the way, when checking, put in your own ambros, otherwise the ones that come out of the box are the smallest ones - they don’t sound comme il faut.

    Ergonomics, appearance, sound (in its category)

    I immediately write what interested me when I read the reviews but could not find it anywhere. I use the headset with Iphone 6plus!
    Due to the closed nature of iOS, there are no proprietary functions that are implemented through a proprietary program on Android - reading SMS and something else, but! a single click launches Siri, which, in principle, you can ask and call whoever you need and send or read an SMS, so as a result the functionality does not suffer much.

    I was pleasantly surprised by the sound, I listen to podcasts (I hardly listen to music), the quality is excellent - better than my Sony earplugs. Noise insulation on the smallest ear pads is good; in the subway you can hear everything without any problems, no complaints.

    One of the nice features is an icon with the charge level in the phone’s status bar, as well as in the top drop-down menu it is shown as a percentage - a small thing, but a nice touch. Once it happened that at first it showed a charge of 30%, and then very quickly it was discharged to 2% and the headset turned off, but considering that before that I used the headset for 3 days (about 3 hours a day in listening mode), I think that anyway, she has the right battery.

    Advantages:

    Weight, ease of use, sound quality, instant and strong connection, operating time.

    Flaws:

    play\pause by double click instead of single click, which is not obvious.

    I spent a long time choosing from different types of headsets, but settled on these. they are comfortable, they don’t stick out of the ear like when wearing gill-type headsets, they don’t catch the eye of others, the interlocutor hears well, if your ear is tired, you can simply remove the earphone and attach it to the magnet at the tip, I usually go with one earphone, but if I want music, I insert the other, the charge is enough for a whole day of listening at an average load. I bought it to talk while driving, considering that I have a 7-inch phablet, a good way out of this situation is to not have to hold the bandura to your ear. I advise.

    Advantages:

    comfortable, compact, quality build.

    The controls are simple, everything you need is there, including scrolling through tracks. The collar is not felt on the neck and does not press, although I don’t even like scarves. They look flimsy, but this is due to the fact that they weigh almost nothing.

    These are already the third decent-sounding bl headphones, and so far they

    Advantages:

    Sound!
    Of course, it’s useless to expect super bass for heavy music from plugs (buy better subwoofer), but the mids and highs are very good. (and if you put the plugs in your ears well, then the quality low frequencies also increases greatly, to a pleasant level. That’s how I listen.) The voice sounds very beautiful. And an aria from the queen of the night with a super high voice, and Buddhist throat mantras with low, booming voices. The sound is spacious, you can feel it on good recordings.

    Flaws:

    As I understand it, the phone needs to support sound transmission with good quality. otherwise there's no point. Huge nozzles included. The smallest ones are already standing. (I bought a set of attachments of all sizes separately for pennies)

    As a music lover who listens to music all the time, I am delighted with the headphones! No damn wires! I got used to it for about a week. I didn’t listen to music before because I was too lazy to take out headphones and it wasn’t always convenient. Now I “always” wear them!

    Previously I used 730s and these sound better. Initially I thought they were quiet, but it turned out that I increased the sound almost incorrectly (it was a little more convenient on the 730), but after setting it up once, then adjusting it on the phone. P.S. Excellent headphones. I bought the 730s and never regretted it, but here the sound is much better.

    Advantages:

    Excellent sound, bluetooth 4.1 (I don’t have time to turn it on before it connects right away)

    I put it on, hooked it up to the phone, turned on the music and went. Everything is simple and intuitive. I only needed to consult the instructions once: to understand how to connect 2 devices to the headset at once (phone and laptop). Everything is working.
    Lives stably for several days, charges quickly. Recommended for anyone who is tired of getting tangled up in wires and regularly taking their phone out of their pocket.
    P.S. Can be used as HandsFree in the car.

    Advantages:

    Comfortable, fast headset. Good quality sound (although I’m not a music lover, so this is a subjective opinion). The wires do not rub against clothing while moving, so there is a minimum of extraneous noise.

    Flaws:

    From a series of quibbles:
    1) If you pull the wire, the ring that holds it on the collar flies out. You can lose it.
    2) You need to get used to the controls. For example, double-clicking "Plus" switches to the next song. Because of this, you cannot quickly increase the volume. On the other hand, if you press the button too quickly 2 times in a row, the headset will only perceive one press.

    I bought the headset mainly to listen to music. Sound quality came first. Bright stereo effect, sound purity, lows in place. There is plenty of volume to spare. I use it in tandem with galaxy s5. I didn't even expect this from wireless headphones. Very pleased with the purchase.

    Advantages:

    Very good sound, comfortable to wear, looks stylish, reads SMS.

    Flaws:

    It's just not very convenient controls.

    The sound is acceptable, the quality of data transfer and connection speed are high. Particularly pleasing is the ability to connect to several devices at once.

    It looks like a slave collar, but people are not yet accustomed to sufficiently progressive thinking.

    You have to constantly think about the fact that it is running low and there is no way to connect via a wire, which would undoubtedly be convenient.

    The charging port is positioned in such a way that it is impossible to use and charge at the same time, which in my opinion is a serious design flaw considering how easily this could have been avoided.

    Cannot be folded compactly.

    Overall I like it. The price is quite low, while the sound quality is not the worst, and the convenience of a wireless headset is simply indescribable.

    Advantages:

    Sound quality
    - Connection speed

    Flaws:

    Appearance
    - Discharges quickly
    - Charging port location
    - Impossibility of wired connection
    - Geometry

    If you listen to rock, metal, etc. music - pass by.

    Firstly, there is no bass at all. The equalizer on the playback device helps a little, but it is very far from acceptable sound. (Up to this point, I had been using different Sennheizer plugs for about 10 years. CX300, CX400, CX275-S, CX870)

    Secondly, at high volumes and very rich music they begin to wheeze, and it seems that it is not the headphones, but interference on the Bluetooth channel that appears. When the distance to the phone is 1.5 meters and the battery is fully charged.

    If you listen to electronics or acoustics, there are no complaints, no interference and clear sound at any volume.

    Advantages:

    Lightweight, comfortable, almost instant connection. Multipoint. Price.

    Despite the disadvantages, I really liked the headset.

    Advantages:

    The operating time stated by the manufacturer is fully justified. We worked for 5 days, of which 8 hours were playing music. More precisely, they turned on just for these 8 hours out of these 5 days.
    Low frequencies are quite sufficient. There is an equalizer with 3 presets (turned on by holding down both volume buttons) after turning off the last selected one is saved.
    It is very comfortable to wear the headset. If regular headphones You need to constantly tighten the wire so that there is no feeling that the headphones will fly out of your ears at the slightest turn of your head, but this is not the case here. You can twist your head as far as your neck allows and the headphones won’t fall out because the cable might get caught somewhere.

    Flaws:

    When there is an obstacle between the sound source and the headset, for example, arms folded on the chest, short stuttering occurs.
    Three buttons are still not enough for comfortable control. Everything has to be done by double-clicking (switching tracks, pausing). Again, a pause configured for a double press instead of a single press is far from convenient. Voice dialing is set to single press here.
    There is too little time left to use after first receiving the Low battery message. There will still be low battery messages twice at intervals of a minute, and then they simply turn off.

    Advantages:

    Appearance, price, workmanship. The earplugs are held in the headset by magnets.

    Flaws:

    Subjectively quiet sound, an inconvenient form of “plugs”, which has been mentioned here many times.

    It seems that I started talking to her on the phone more...

    Advantages:

    Lightweight, comfortable, holds a charge for a long time. I make a lot of calls at work and the headset does its job perfectly. Both my interlocutors and I praise the connection, saying that it is much better than through wired headphones.

    Flaws:

    It still feels a little on the neck, but that’s the kind of person I am, I can’t wear anything extra. But its advantages are worth enduring.

    Overall, I was pleased with the headset - my hands are free, the sound is pleasant. It’s really funny to answer a call on the street when your headphones are hidden under a scarf - people shy away and look like you’re the city crazy ☺
    P.S. I was looking for another problem on the Internet, which manifested itself in the form of loss of sound in the right earphone, after switching tracks or increasing the volume, 2 weeks after starting use, but it looks like it’s a defect and we just need to get to the repair: (By the way, the sound returns if it’s quiet I press the right case, but for the same reason I try not to touch the volume button and, in principle, not to touch the case.

    Advantages:

    There are no inconvenient wires - nothing dangles or clings when your hands are busy/running, and even if you are sitting at the computer listening and you need to get up and walk somewhere - the sound is with you (at a distance of 4 meters or one reinforced concrete wall☺);
    Reads SMS messages and some pop-up messages from social networks (my headset seemed to react to Instagram) after installing the program;

    Flaws:

    As a music lover, I was upset by the weak bass (for this and 4), the equalizer on the phone is amazing (Sony m4);
    When listening to tracks with 90 bpm or less, stuttering sometimes appears;
    Sometimes the connection to the computer is buggy, you have to reconnect Bluetooth both on the headset and on the computer 2-4 times;

    Excellent model, got what I expected.

    Advantages:

    I wear it all the time, both at work and on vacation, when playing sports. Convenient operation, ergonomics, long battery life. You can tuck them under the collar of your shirt and then they are almost invisible at all. There are no complaints about the sound quality.

    Flaws:

    The elastic bands included are not very good, none of the sizes fit well and sometimes fall out when running.

    Due to the insufficient rigidity of the design, the headphones spin around the neck while running (and always to the right - apparently, a mass imbalance), and during bending and twisting, they generally fly off the neck almost every time.
    On the plus side - good...

    Advantages:

    Good sound

    Flaws:

    Insufficient structural rigidity

  • But the manufacturer did not stop there and decided to also experiment in the Bluetooth headset segment, releasing a device in the format... of a collar. Meet LG Tone+ HBS-730.

    Packaging and equipment LG Tone+ HBS-730

    The headphones are supplied in a relatively compact branded box. Waiting for us inside:

    • The headphones themselves with headband
    • MicroUSB to USB cable
    • Instructions
    • Replaceable attachments

    Charging occurs using a classic microUSB cable. A total of three pairs of interchangeable attachments are available. The smallest ones were perfect for me, they penetrate the ear canal perfectly and provide good isolation.

    Design and ergonomics of LG Tone+ HBS-730

    The rather new and unusual form factor of the headset initially surprises not only the owner, but also those around him, creating quite a WOW effect. Every now and then everyone asked what kind of miracle device this was. The “collar” is a very interesting and ergonomic solution (I’ll tell you why later), but it’s not suitable for everyone.

    The arc on which the droplets themselves are attached is quite convenient. It is made of plastic, and the connecting element is made of pleasant soft rubber. Due to this, if desired, the headband can be bent in any direction without damaging the structure.

    On the left arc of the LG Tone+ HBS-730 there is a call button. It is surrounded by a blue LED activity indicator.

    The volume control buttons are located nearby. On the outside of the arc there is a two-position power lever. On the inside there is a microUSB connector for charging. It is covered with a plug so as not to stand out against the background of the structure and remain protected.

    On the right arc there is a place for the Play/Pause multimedia button and a pair of buttons for switching tracks.

    The headphones themselves are made in the form of droplets (plugs). They are located in special recesses into which they are attached using magnets. In the test sample, the mounting pads turned out to be slightly demagnetized, which is why the headphones easily came off at the slightest impact. By the way, a microphone is hidden in the left magnetic pad.

    The manufacturer positions the LG Tone+ HBS-730 as a solution for stylish young people and athletes. Regarding the first, perhaps each person should decide individually, but I will tell you about sports use in more detail. When doing basic exercises or while running, the user will not feel any discomfort; the LG Tone+ HBS-730 sits confidently on the neck, practically without dangling. The length of the wire of the droplets themselves can be adjusted using small clamps.

    The only unpleasant moment is that during abdominal exercises the headphones will still fall off due to the design features. In this case, either or a more sporty wireless one would be more suitable.

    In winter, the headphones fit well under a jacket, although at first the arc still puts a little pressure on the neck, you need to get used to it or position it more comfortably.

    Summing up the design and ergonomics, it is worth noting that the LG Tone+ HBS-730 has some features that a future buyer needs to take into account - the unusual shape of the arc and the risk of losing the headset while performing some specific exercises. Despite the total mass of 32 grams, the arc still significantly outweighs the droplets themselves.

    Wireless connection

    The headphones work Bluetooth protocol 3.0 is a strange decision, because it was possible to use new energy-saving technology using the fourth generation protocol. Connection stability does not cause problems. Periodically (a couple of times a day) there may be a drop in the quality of the connection (the sound begins to stutter a little), but this goes away quite quickly. Perhaps this is due to the steel body of my smartphone, which slightly shields the signal. By the way, the headset supports simultaneous work with two devices at once.

    Yes, I can’t help but express my “ugh” about the ever-blinking activity indicator. If during the day it is almost unnoticeable, then at night, being on the neck under a jacket, the headset strives to alarm others, illuminating the wearer’s neck in blue.

    Integrated into headphones voice assistant with a pretty cute in a female voice, which somehow reminded me of Cortana. On English language it reports connection status, incoming call and volume level changes. It is also possible to voice dial by number or contact name, but I was unable to get this function to work adequately. This is due to the lengthy procedure and the frankly poor quality of speech recognition. For example, I want to call our employee. The procedure looks like this:

    1. We press the call button on the headset, we hear: “Say call, followed by name or number”
    2. Say “Call%username%”
    3. (On the fifth attempt, the headset understands what I really want from it and gives the answer) “Say “1” for the first number, say “2” for the ....”
    4. Arrr...

    I have from two to five numbers on each contact, which creates certain problems in choosing, and given the difficulties in recognition, I preferred to abandon this idea altogether. On the other hand, this is a fairly experimental thing, so I wouldn't put an incident like this down as a flaw.

    The declared range of the headphones is 10 meters. In fact, it is slightly higher, which is very good. You can cook borscht while listening to music in the kitchen while your phone is charging in the bedroom.

    Sound quality LG Tone+ HBS-730

    The headset demonstrates very unexpected results in the field of music playback. Firstly, it has a very impressive volume reserve. Secondly, droplets with properly selected nozzles allow you to almost completely turn off the outside world, creating excellent noise insulation even in public transport. Thirdly, the sound quality and detail of individual compositions deserve praise. Initially, the headphones are well suited for listening to jazz or melodic rock. And if you twist the equalizer a little, the LG Tone+ HBS-730 becomes a good candidate for the role of a club music player. To summarize, I can say that the sound quality among wireless headsets LG Tone+ HBS-730 definitely deserves first place in its price category.

    The sensitivity of the microphone is not bad, you can even successfully talk on the street. There is a proprietary noise canceler, which is well worth the money invested.

    Autonomy LG Tone+ HBS-730

    The battery life declared by the manufacturer is 15 hours of talk time, the battery capacity is 195 mAh, which is slightly less than that of the one we recently tested. On the other hand, I was able to confirm the result at 15 hours while listening to music at above-average volume. So the LG Tone+ HBS-730 is enough for three to four days of use, if you don’t play music for 7-10 hours straight.

    To fully charge the headset it takes a little more than 1.5 hours, which is a normal result. The assistant informs you about the current charge level every time you turn it on. If you want to find out how much battery is left at the moment, you need to press and hold the volume down button. Let's write down the disadvantages that we are not told the exact percentage of the charge level, but only a conditional level - Low, Medium or High.

    conclusions

    Thus, LG Tone+ HBS-730 is a rather extraordinary representative of the wireless headphone segment. The test subject is distinguished by an original form factor, excellent sound quality and impressive autonomy. It is worth understanding that the LG Tone+ HBS-730 is not suitable for everyone, not least due to the price tag of almost 1000 UAH, but the headphones will definitely find their representative for stylish youth or a brave athlete.

    Pros:

    • Ergonomic and stylish design
    • 15 hours of autonomy
    • High charging speed
    • Excellent sound quality compared to competitors
    • Connection speed and stability

    Minuses:

    • High price
    • The design is not for everyone
    • Voice assistant needs improvement
