To Remember:

  • This tutorial is only for installing CM11 Android 4.4.2 ROM on Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562. Please do not try on any other Galaxy S Duos variants.
  • Your phone should be rooted and have ClockworkMod recovery installed from before.

  • Perform a Dalvik Cache wipe before proceeding from the recovery mode.
  • Samsung KIES will NOT detect your phone after installing this ROM because it is a custom firmware.
  • Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

NOTE: Screenshots of the ClockworkMod Recovery may change as new versions are released.

Step 9 – Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 10 – Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Android 4.4.2 ROM zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Install Android 5.0 Lollipop themed ROM on Galaxy S Duos S7562. Firstly I let you know that this is just a themed custom ROM which looks like recently launched Android 5.0 Lollipop OS but it is based on stock ICS. It is so beautifully themed and customized that you’ll experience a total Lollipop OS on it. As Galaxy S Duos users can never get this latest OS officially on their device, the only way they can experience this is by flashing unofficial custom firmware. Today in this article we’ll be discussing a detailed step by step process on how to install Android 5.0 Lollipop themed ROM on Galaxy S Duos S7562.

All thanks goes to Harish Sharma for developing this beautiful ROM. With this Lollipop touch ROM you’ll be experiencing the look as well as the feel of Android Lollipop on your Galaxy S Duos. This ROM also comes with some extra additional features, apps and capabilities which can surely improve your device performance thus making it run faster. You’ll also experience an improved battery life, more energized power and amazing web browsing experience. If you are eager to flash this Android 5.0 Lollipop themed custom ROM on your Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 then proceed to our actual article given below.

Implement every step given below at your own risk. If any damage happens to your smartphone then neither do I nor the developers will be responsible for that. So I highly recommend you to follow every instruction with an attentive mind. Note that this Android 5.0 Lollipop themed custom ROM is compatible only and only with Samsung Galaxy S Duos with model number GT-S7562. Do not flash this if you’re having another device except the one mentioned as it may cause permanent damage to your phone. Check your device model number from Menu->Settings>About Phone before moving ahead.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Charge your device at least up to 60% so as to reduce the risk of interruption during the Lollipop ROM flashing process.
  • Backup all your phone data and settings including contacts, messages, call logs, memos etc. to external SD card or on your PC. This is essential as everything gets wiped in the last step of this procedure.
  • Backup EFS folder present in your phones system directory. This folder contains all your phones specific information such as the IMEI, wireless devices MAC addresses, product code, and much more. So a backup of this folder is essential. There is always a risk that this EFS folder might get corrupted. If so happened, your device will be completely useless & will no longer be recognized by your carrier. Refer our article to backup and restore EFS/IMEI data:
  • Ensure that you have installed mobile specific drivers on your PC. This is recommended so as to recognize your Galaxy S Duos when connected via USB data cable. You can install them by installing Samsung Kies or manually install them from the link given below:
  • Your Galaxy S Duos must be rooted. For doing so, follow our guide:
  • A custom recovery like Clockworkmod (CWM) or TWRP must be installed before proceeding further. Refer these steps for flashing CWM recovery:

Procedure:

Step 1: Download all the zip package files in a specific folder on your computer. Remember not to extract them.

Step 2: Now connect your Galaxy S Duos to computer by using USB data cable, enable USB debugging mode and copy the downloaded zip files on your phones SD card.

Step 3: Then safely disconnect your Galaxy S Duos from computer. Switch it off completely until it vibrates. Now boot the phone into CWM recovery mode. For doing so, press and hold Home button (middle button) + Power button + Volume Up button together till you enter recovery mode.

Note: Touch won't work in this recovery mode. So use Volume keys for navigating up and down and use Home button for selection.

At first take a complete nandroid backup of the ROM which you are currently using. This Nandroid backup is the backup of your phones entire operating system & is always helpful in case of failure while flashing process or during any problem with the ROM, then you can easily restore your saved previous ROM.

Refer our detailed article for taking Nandroid backup:

Step 4: For taking a complete nandroid backup of your current ROM, use Volume keys and navigate to the ‘ backup & restore’ option on the CWM recovery mode and on the next screen select ‘ backup' option using Home button. This will make a complete nandroid backup and it will be saved on your phones SD card. Refer screenshots.

Step 5: Next you need to wipe the data and cache partitions from your phones internal memory. For doing so, navigate to the ‘ wipe data/factory reset' option using volume keys. Select it using Home button. On the next screen press Yes option to start the wiping process. Similarly navigate to the ‘ wipe cache partition' option and select it to wipe the caches.

Note: This step will clear all data from your phones internal memory including contacts, messages, apps, memos, call logs etc. Thus a complete backup of everything must be done before attempting this step.

Step 6: Return to the main menu and select the Advanced option located on the recovery mode itself. On the next screen select Reboot Recovery option.

Wait until you boot again into recovery.

Let’s move to the actual Android 5.0 Lollipop themed ROM flashing process.

Step 7: Now navigate to the ‘ install zip from SD card’ option and select it using Home button. Then on the next screen select ‘ choose zip from SD card’ option. Clicking this option will show you all the data present on your external SD card. So navigate to the Android 5.0 Lollipop themed ROM which you’ve copied earlier and select it. On the next screen select ‘Yes’ option to start the actual Android 5.0 Lollipop themed ROM flashing process. Be patient and wait for some time as the process completes.

Step 8: Similar flash the file.zip and bugfix.zip files as you've flashed the L Touch ROM.

Step 9: After implementing everything as mentioned above again wipe data/cache partitions from the recovery. This step is essential to solve the boot loop issue.

Step 10: Just restart your Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 by selecting ‘ reboot system now’ option from the CWM recovery mode. The first boot takes more time to start than usual.

Note: If you want to restore back your previous saved Rom, then boot your Galaxy S Duos into recovery mode and select ‘ Backup and Restore’ option and then on next page select ‘ Restore’ option. Then select the ROM you want to restore.

Voila! You have successfully installed the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop themed L Touch Custom ROM on your Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562 smartphone. The same can be confirmed from Menu->Settings->About Phone. This is just a themed ROM which looks like Android Lollipop and is not any official firmware from Samsung. Enjoy the look and experience of Lollipop OS on your S Duos with this ROM. Also don’t forget to share your views after using it. Lastly if you face any kind of difficulty or have any query regarding this guide then do let me know through the comments section. I'll try to help you out. Till then enjoy! 🙂

Hello everyone, there hasn't been an article on Android for a long time. The other day they brought me samsung smartphone GT-S7562 Galaxy S DUOS with a request to flash it this model. I don’t know what exactly was done to it, but the firmware definitely crashed. The request was to install the usual stock firmware and, if possible, install CWM-Recovery and get root rights.

You can read what Root rights are and how you can get them for Android devices. And so, I think it’s time to start the firmware process.

You do all manipulations with the phone at your own peril and risk!

Files required for flashing Samsung GT-S7562 Galaxy S DUOS firmware

  • Drivers, let's take them here;
  • Program for firmware Odin3 1.87, located Here;
  • Firmware, download from here;

Then select the country and language, tap on the “Next”, “Install”, “Finish” button.

The driver installation is now complete. Launch the Odin3 1.87 program. In the program window that opens, click on the PDA button and select the firmware with the “.md5” extension. A checkmark will appear next to the PDA button ( Leave other settings and checkboxes unchanged).

Next, with the smartphone turned off, you need to simultaneously press the Vol.Down “Volume Down” button, the Home button “Central button”, then press the Power button “on/off button”. After the smart device vibrates, release all buttons. A warning window will appear.

Smart is ready for firmware. We connect the phone to the computer via a USB cable. In the Odin3 1.87 program, the port number will appear in the ID:COM column on a yellow background; the program has identified the phone. Then press the "START" button. The firmware process will begin.

After the firmware is completed, the smart device will reboot. Disconnect your phone from your PC. Close Odin3 1.87 program.

CWM firmware process - RECOVERY

Launch the Odin3 1.87 program. Click on the PDA button and select the CWM-Recovery file with the extension “.tar”, download from here.

NO NEED TO UNPACK ANYTHING

A checkmark will appear next to the PDA button ( leave the rest of the settings unchanged).

Next, with the smartphone turned off, you need to simultaneously press the Vol.Down “Volume Down” button, the Home button “Central button”, then press the Power button “on/off button”. After the smart device vibrates, release all buttons.

Connect your phone to PC via USB cable. The Odin3 1.87 program will detect the smart device, and the port number will appear in the ID:COM column on a yellow background in the top left. Press the "START" button. The process will begin CWM firmware-Recovery, which will take no more than two minutes. The inscription PASS on a green background indicates that the firmware process was completed successfully. Disconnect the smart phone from the computer.

The process of obtaining Root is right

First of all, you must have a memory card installed on your phone. You need to upload the CWM-Superuser 3.1.3 file to the external SD card, which can be downloaded Here.

NO NEED TO UNPACK ANYTHING

Turn off the smart phone, with the phone turned off, press Vol.Down “Volume down”, Vol.Up “Volume up”, Home “Central button”, and then turn on the phone with the Power button “on/off button”. After the device vibrates, release all buttons.

I draw your attention to the fact that it should say CWM-based Recovery, and not Android system recovery<3e>.

To navigate to the CWM-Recovery menu, use the Vol.Down “Volume down” and Vol.Up “Volume up” keys, confirm the selected action with the Home button “Central button”, to go back, use the Power button “on/off button”. I advise you to do full backup, to do this, go to the “Backup and restore” menu and select “Backup”.

Then we go back and click “install zip from sdcard”. Next, tap “choose zip from sdcard”, find the file CWM-Superuser-3.1.3.zip. Then select “Yes-Install CWM-Superuser-3.1.3.zip” and confirm with the Home button. After installing CWM-Superuser, go back and select “reboot system now”. The device will reboot.

Conclusion

If CWM-Recovery is not useful to you in the future, I advise you to flash Stock-Recovery which is located Here, this will also remove the yellow triangle on the Samsung label when you turn on the phone. Sew in the same way as CWM-Recovery, using the Odin3 1.87 program. Something like that.

Sincerely,
