1. What is nrg format. Purpose

Automatic addition of multimedia data
In many cases, the player can automatically download media and add it to files. For example, when you rip a CD, the player can search an online database and download media about the recordings contained on the CD to your computer.
The player also periodically checks the library for non-media items. If records are found in the online database that match library items, the player will automatically download multimedia data and will add them to the library files.
Add or change media manually

Adding media from an online database
An easy way to add media data from a file that is already in the player's library is to search the online database for information. This method works best when the information is in the database, but the Player cannot automatically find it for a file in the Player library.
- Switch to library
- In the Player Library, click right click mouse and select the command Find album details. The player will connect to the Internet and display a dialog box Finding Album Information.
- To select multiple adjacent elements, click the first element and, while holding down the Shift key, click last element. To select nonadjacent elements, Ctrl-click each one.
- In the dialog box Finding Album Information match the item or items to the correct album in the list or refine your search.
The player closes the window and adds the information to the player library. After some time (depending on how many changes have been made and whether the player is performing other operations), the information will be added to the file.
To have the player update the file immediately, click Arrange and select a team Apply changes to media.
Add media using the Edit command
If you're comfortable entering information manually, you can skip the online database and edit the information directly in the Player Library using the Edit command.
- Open Windows Player.
- If the player is already open and in playback mode, click the Switch to Library button in the top right corner of the player.
- In the Player Library, right-click the item name, artist name, or other media attribute and select Edit.
If the attribute is not visible in the player library, you may need to scroll using horizontal stripe Scroll the bottom of the Player Library window (if available), left or right, or configure the Player Library, displaying the attribute column is hidden by default.
To make the same attribute change on multiple elements, you can save time by selecting a group of elements before right-clicking the appropriate attribute. - Type the information you want to add or correct, and press Enter.

- If necessary, repeat steps 1 and 2 to correct other attributes.
Notes:
- Some attributes, such as duration, size, and flow rate, cannot be changed.
- Some attributes, such as artist and genre, can have multiple elements separated by semicolons.
Add media using drag and drop elements
If you have elements in your player library that contain the correct media, and you want to copy those attributes to another element that contains false information, you can quickly do this by dragging the erroneous element onto the correct one.
- Open Windows Player.
- If the player is already open and in playback mode, click Switch to library in the top right corner of the player.
- In the Player Library, click a view in the navigation pane, like Executor, Album or Genre.
- In the details pane, drag the item containing false media onto the item containing correct media.
For example, drag "Unknown Album" onto the "Giant Steps" album. All elements of the "Unknown Album" will become part of the "Giant Steps" album.
- If a confirmation window appears, click Yes.
Protecting multimedia data from overwriting
Once media has been added to files, it is advisable to ensure that they are then were not overwritten by the player.
- Open Windows Player.
- If the player is already open and in playback mode, click Switch to library in the top right corner of the player.
- In the Player Library, click Arrange, select Options and click tab Library.
- In area Automatic update media file information make sure the checkbox is checked Add only missing information.
- This will prevent the player from accidentally changing the correct media that has been added to false information that may be contained in the online database.
