This autumn turned out to be many times more interesting for fans of techno-porn voluminous galleries from iFixit. Because, unlike last fall, both iPhone and iPod touch transformed at once. When devices change externally, they also receive a completely new layout of parts. Introductory round with iPhone 5, the new touch is now aimed at preventive opening.

If you can’t take the player out of the package, how difficult will it be to disassemble it? Fortunately, Apple has placed a picture on the transparent plastic that shows exactly this method of removal:

You need to blow on the player with an industrial hair dryer for 30 seconds to soften the glue. After this, you can carefully pry up the front panel with a plastic tool.

However, it's not just about the glue. The frame around the front panel is also secured with side latches - so that the master will certainly damage something during the dismantling process. But this is not about iFixit.

The shielding plate is mounted on several screws. All the most interesting things are hidden under it.

Detaching the display from the back half is harder than it looks. It will not be possible to remove the motherboard at this stage, since its non-removable cable (orange) is laid directly under the battery. You have to use some skill to disconnect the display connectors while hanging.

But this is the same component that fits closely to the plastic insert in the upper right corner of the rear panel. Most likely, we have a Wi-Fi antenna in front of us (label C 2712).

Under the motherboard there is a single cable with volume keys, microphone, flash and Power button. The failure of any of these components will automatically mean replacing the entire cable.

It’s good that the 5-megapixel camera module is detachable.

The disappointment of the day is the Home button in the new touch. It is based on a rubber membrane and is not very reliable, unlike its counterpart from the iPhone 5.

The battery is glued to the back panel, but the indentations on the side still allow it to be picked up and peeled off without damaging the cells.

Battery voltage - 3.7 V, energy characteristic - 3.8 Wh, capacity - 1030 mAh. The latter casts doubt on the reliability of recent...

"iPod touch. Bright even inside.”

The orange cable from the motherboard leads directly to the Lightning connector. Black speaker reclines from this block.

Adjacent to the speaker and connector is an audio codec manufactured by Cirrus.
