Everything here is much simpler than it seems. If you do not live in China, then you only need the global version of the firmware, which has all languages and Google Play Services. First of all, let's start with unlocking the bootloader on Redmi 4 Pro, suitable for Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. This is a mandatory operation, since a locked bootloader will not allow you to overwrite system memory partitions.
Unlocking the bootloader
To apply, you need to go to the MIUI website and follow the Unlock Now link. Here you need to log in through your Mi account - log in. Now you will need to fill out a special form “Permission to unlock”, indicating the following data:
- Username on the website en.miui.com.
- Real phone number. A notification of receipt of permission and a code for submitting an application will be sent to the number you specified.

- Click on apply immediately and enter the code from the received SMS.

The next step is to directly unlock the bootloader. Open the installed MiFlashUnlock and log in through the Mi account where you received permission. Instructions for flashing Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro firmware using MiFlash
We need MIUI 9 firmware for Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro because this is the latest and most current version. Since the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro has firmware via miflash, we will need to download it. The advantage of this program is that the package of necessary drivers is installed automatically, without the need to install the drivers yourself in the future.
The bootloader is unlocked, the firmware is downloaded, MiFlash is installed - you can start!
- The firmware is performed via fastboot, therefore, we need to switch to this mode: press the “power” and “volume down” buttons. We connect the phone to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
- You need to unzip the archive with global firmware for Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro. Preferably to the root of the “C:\” drive to avoid problems with long paths or Cyrillic characters. The resulting path must be copied.
