There is no phone more anticipated in 2017 than the iPhone 7s. The release of a new iPhone is usually the biggest event in the smartphone world any year, but this time around the tenth anniversary, the release of a new model could be even more special.
As such, even though there's still quite a bit of time before the release, we're already hearing numerous rumors about the possible design and specifications, as well as future prices and what we can generally expect. In this article we tried to fit all the rumors and news in one place.
iPhone 7s release date
We do not know the exact timing of when the new model will be released, since there has been no official release. But as a rule, Apple adheres to its timing standards, and most likely we expect that the phone should be released exactly a year after the release of the iPhone 7. Therefore, iPhone 7s release date in Russia and around the world, will be in early September 2017.
Most likely, we will already be able to pre-order one or two weeks before the release of the iPhone 7s. It's also unclear whether it will be the 7s or will be replaced by the iPhone 8. This is the tenth anniversary, after all, and there have been some rumors that Apple may skip the release of the "S" series this year.
iPhone 7s - what will the display be like?

There are a number of rumors about the new display in the iPhone 7s, but most of all there are claims that there will be support for an OLED display rather than LCD.
The president of Sharp, which makes displays for smartphones, confirmed that new Apple devices will be equipped with OLED screens.
OLED displays are used in various Samsung and Apple Watch models, and generally have superior contrast compared to LCD displays. It also fits curved screens, which the new iPhone 7s has been rumored to be possible, although unlikely.
Another change we could see is screen resolution as Apple lags behind the competition and apparently new sharper screens are being prototyped, including one larger than 1440 x 2560, although that's a big leap.
Finally, the size of the display itself may change; models with 5 and 5.8 inch screens may be added. This is something new and interesting, as the 5 inches will be between the existing 4.7 and 5.5 models, while the 5.8 will dwarf them in size. But despite the fact that there are smartphones with larger screens from other manufacturers.
And beyond the visual differences, there's a chance that Apple will also improve 3D Touch, making it more sensitive and accurate than it is now.
iPhone 7s - appearance, design

The new iPhone could feature a huge design change, with rumors pointing to a new curved glass panel instead of the metal one that the iPhone 7 has.
And even if such a decision is made, and a design change occurs at all, not all models will be the same, and therefore you will still be able to buy a new phone with a recognizable design.
Recent news claims that the new series of models will be the 7S, 7S Plus and 7S Pro - although we expect the latter to be the iPhone 8 rather than the Pro version.
New phone models will have an edge-to-edge display, making them smaller with the same screen size or the same size as current iPhone models.
iPhone 7s - camera and battery

We don't expect significant changes to the iPhone 7s camera. Rumors say single lens for the 7s and dual lens for the 7s Plus.
However, there are some improvements in both cases. For example, the 7S Plus is said to have optical image stabilization on both lenses, rather than just one like the 7 Plus.
Everything else is just speculation, but changing the megapixel count is possible, at least on the rear cameras (which are currently 12MP). It's unlikely that anything will change on the front cameras, as Apple only recently improved and raised the value to 7MP.
On the battery side, there is evidence that Apple may finally enable wireless charging. This is due to rumors that Foxconn (which assembles and produces the iPhone) is experimenting with this technology. The information received tells us that all iPhone 7s models will be equipped with wireless charging.
This rumor was bolstered by the fact that Apple has now joined the Wireless Power Consortium (an industry group focused on implementing a wireless charging standard).
iPhone 7s - new OS and processor
There are still no rumors about a new operating system or sources indicating this fact. But this can be easily predicted. Most likely, the new iPhone 7s smartphone will run iOS 11, given that we are currently using iOS 10.
It is also likely that the new A11 or A11 Fusion chips will be used. We're guessing it will be a quad-core processor, since Apple only recently made the transition to quad-core chips for smartphones and will likely stay there for a while.
It is expected that there will be 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, given the fact that the iPhone 7 Plus now has 3 GB.
iPhone 7s - Innovative Features

- Face recognition
The iPhone 7s may get a Smart Connector, just like the iPad Pro, which is used to connect various accessories such as a keyboard.
Another useful feature is the iris scanner, which is already a feature of some smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Or Apple could go further and add facial recognition, as there are several rumors floating around in this direction.
In fact, Apple has already bought a startup company that is working on this technology, but this does not guarantee that such features will be added to new devices in the near future.
iPhone 7s - price
At the moment, all we can say about the price is that it will be about $649, which translates to about 37,000 rubles for the smallest configuration. This price will most likely be the starting price for the new iPhone 7s.
