Joyetech eVic VTC Dual TC Mod is a modern battery mod, the main advantage of which is its versatility. If you need a lightweight and compact device that is convenient to take on a trip, the box mod can be equipped with one 18650 battery. In this case, the power will range from 1 to 75W. If the issue of autonomy and performance comes first, then a modification for two 18650 batteries is at your service. In this case, the power doubles - up to 150W. Each use case has a corresponding battery cover. Both are already included in the kit, so all operations with the device can be carried out immediately after purchase.

The eVic VTC Dual 75W-150W battery mod can be used in various modes. POWER (classical power adjustment (1-75/150W) in accordance with the capabilities of the atomizer), TEMP (setting the temperature (100-315℃/200-600℉) to which the coil will be heated), BYPASS (the maximum power indicator is given, which will be able to provide the installed battery), TCR (three profiles into which the user himself enters the temperature coefficient for any alloy).

Joyetech eVic VTC Dual Mod is equipped with a display that allows you to control the settings for vaping. It has a large diagonal and a good reserve of brightness, and thanks to large and clear symbols, information from it can be read instantly. The screen shows the selected mode, power/temperature values, voltage, resistance, discharge current, as well as puffs, vaping time and battery icon. A nice feature is a screensaver in the form of a clock that can be installed on the home screen.

Joyetech eVic VTC Mini Kit – newest set, consisting of a compact, advanced Joyetech eVic VTC Mini box mod and the familiar Joyetech eGo One Mega tank, available in three colors. eVic VTC Mini box mod: supports four operating modes, adjustable power (up to 60 W) and temperature (up to 315℃ /600°F), power more than 100 W in mechanical mode, replaceable 18650 battery, reliable magnetic cover, firmware upgradeable, vertical OLED display, matte body without chrome, 510 connector with spring-loaded pin, stylish and compact design. eGo One Mega tank: 4 ml volume, liquid level control, air supply adjustment, replaceable nickel and titanium evaporators included, wide range of available evaporators, steel construction.

The manufacturer in its new mod used the successful development of the Wismec subsidiary - the ability to soar with two or one battery of your choice, implemented through replaceable covers. Vapers have already seen such a system in the Reuleaux RX2/3 mod, however, there the choice was made between two and three batteries. In the version with two batteries, the eVic VTC Dual is very similar to the eVic VTwo Mini and “produces” up to 75 W, and with two batteries the mod already increases the maximum power to 150 W.

Like all eVic series devices, new mod convenient, functional and compact. For lovers of high power, it is now possible to install two batteries and vape drips, “powerful” winders and anything else they want.
The mod is sold in two configurations: “without anything” and with the Ultimo clearomizer, which has all modern functions and works on new non-standard flat evaporators of the MG series.

Appearance
The design of the eVic VTC Dual is no different from previous models. The box mod still fits well in the hand and has modest dimensions, however, compared to the eVic VTwo Mini, it has grown a little - it has added 4 mm in height and 1 mm in width. When installing a cover with two batteries, the dimensions, of course, differ more noticeably. The mod is not suitable for stealth vaping in any of its incarnations - the height of 86 mm and the square shape will not allow you to hide the device in the palm of your hand.
The choice of colors for the eVic VTC Dual has become smaller, but is still quite impressive. There are five colors: black, white, red, blue and orange. The case is made of stainless steel. The assembly is excellent - nothing rattles or wobbles.

Functionality

Variwatt
From 1 to 75 W with one battery and from 1 to 150 W with two batteries. The adjustment step is 0.1 W.
For beginners, there is a Start mode (aka Smart), which removes all “extra” information from the screen and leaves only the “more-less” scale. Using the adjustment buttons, the steamer can adjust the power without being distracted by specific readings of resistance, voltage and power. Also, in Start mode, the board remembers the set values for a certain resistance of the evaporator, so when you screw on the “head” with the same resistance (even from a different manufacturer), the mod will “remember” how many Watts it was steamed at last time. The mod stores up to 10 resistance-power presets in its memory. For some resistances, the device already “knows” the optimal power settings out of the box.
There is also an RTC mode, which is the same vari-watt, but instead of voltage and current, a large analog or digital clock is displayed on the screen.

Temperature control (TC)
The mod allows you to adjust the heating temperature of the coil from 100 to 315 °C or from 200 to 600 °F. The change step is 5 and 10 degrees, respectively. Temperature control mode is possible on nickel, titanium and stainless steel, there is also a TCR for three unsupported metals, the resistance coefficient of which can be set independently.
In TK mode, you can block the resistance or manually set the power. Since eVic VTC Dual runs on a proven board from eVic VTwo Mini, there is no doubt about the “truthfulness” and quality of the electronics.

Mechmod
eVic VTC Dual has a mechanical mode in which all battery voltage is supplied directly to the evaporator without regulation by the board. Protections continue to operate in this mode.

Sabom
The resistance range in variwatt and mechanical mode modes is 0.1 - 3.5 Ohms, and in TK mode - 0.05 - 1.5 Ohms.
The eVic VTC Dual mod is 23 mm wide, so it is better suited for use with modern drips and clearomizers than its predecessors. True, wide models with a diameter of 24 and 25 mm will not look so good on the eVic VTC Dual due to the sides sticking out relative to the body of the mod. Although the atomizers will not protrude 25 mm from the front.

Battery
The batteries are the highlight of the eVic VTC Dual. The mod runs on one or two 18650 batteries. The choice is made by installing one of the covers included in the kit. The manufacturer recommends batteries with a current output of 25 A or more.

Compared to the Reuleaux RX2/3, the lid system has been improved. In the new mod from Joyetech, it is difficult to tell what goes on what - the cover on the mod or the mod on the cover, since the battery compartment has now become completely independent. The cover with one battery looks more or less standard, but with two it is a “case” for batteries. Batteries can be inserted or removed through the hinged cover. In the single battery version of the cover, the battery is inserted deep into the cover, so the battery compartment also looks like a separate element.

The covers are secured with a mechanical latch; we had to abandon magnets in the eVic VTC Dual. Moving the battery compartment into the lid allowed for a very quick change of batteries - if two batteries run out, you can snap off the “used” one and immediately install the lid with one “fresh” battery. About the same as changing the clip in a pistol.
Battery packs have spring-loaded contacts. Cover holds two batteries serial connection, so vaping on one battery with a cover for two will not work. You can charge the batteries directly inside the mod via the USB port. The charging current is standard - 1 A. The minimum battery voltage is 3.3 V (or 6.6 V for two batteries).

Display
The eVic VTC Dual is in fashion with its now classic large vertical display. It displays information about voltage, power, resistance, temperature, battery charge in a convenient list format (two indicators are displayed for two batteries). You can also customize the display additional information to choose from: current strength, number of puffs taken and total vaping time.

The screen can be turned off, flipped 180°, and also configured to display a full-screen screensaver with an analog clock. You can also install your own logo on the display.

Connector
510 steel connector with brass spring loaded pin. In the new model, Joyetech has fixed the problematic eVic VTC Mini connector, which was pressed through or did not allow the atomizer to be screwed tightly - now these shortcomings are gone.

Protection
The eVic VTC Dual mod has full list all necessary protections:
from short circuit;
from high/low voltage;
from high/low resistance;
from overcharge/overdischarge;
from incorrect installation battery;
from battery charge imbalance;
from board overheating;
from overheating of the evaporator (cut-off at 10 seconds).

Upgradable firmware
The eVic VTC Dual mod can be updated by installing new firmware from the manufacturer's website (http://www.joyetech.com/mvr-software/?sid=211). To do this, you need to download the file, connect the device to the computer via USB, and then run the downloaded program. Then everything will happen automatically. When updating the firmware, you can also set your own logo, which will be displayed on the eVic VTC Dual screen.
At the time of publication, eVic VTC Dual is already available new firmware version 4.04. It adds a coil preheating function.

Control
The mod from Joyetech has standard controls for eVic series devices. The eVic VTC Dual is turned on and off by pressing Fire five times. Pressing it three times switches to menu mode, in which you can use the “-” button to select a line, and the “+” button to interact with it. For example, to select the display of current strength or the number of puffs, you need to press Fire three times, scroll to this line using “-”, and then press “+”.
In addition, there are functions called by a combination of buttons. When the device is turned on, Fire and “-” will turn off the screen, and “+” and “-” will block the adjustment buttons. Fire and “+” will open a menu where you can turn on or off the display of the logo, as well as set the time the screensaver appears.
When the device is turned off, “+” and “-” will flip the screen. Fire and "+" will open the TCR setup menu. Fire and "-" will show the exact battery voltage. Pressing Fire ten times will display the temperature of the board, and pressing it twenty times will display the firmware version.

Box mod comes in 5 colors. The color I'm reviewing is black.

Arrived in a standard box for this brand.

Having opened it, we see the mod with an installed compartment for two batteries.

Delivery set: the mod itself, a compartment for two batteries, one for one, a cable and waste paper. The compartment for one battery and the cable are in a separate box.

Dimensions for various options.

In total we have three parts. Power on one battery is 75W, on two - 150W. The compartments are held on skids.

The most important part, where the board is located, is very small.

It has a plastic slide that got stuck the first time it was removed. When removing the battery compartments, you need to be careful, as the corners are very sharp and you can hurt your hand. It's all very difficult to remove. If you change compartments frequently, I think they will wear out and then generally exhaust their service life. It will hold, but there will be some play. I haven't seen this yet.

The buttons rattle a little. The screen is easily scratched. There were micro scratches on the first day of use, careful use.

Using the compartment for two batteries, you can squeeze 150 watts out of them. Batteries are inserted from the bottom of the device. Where is plus and where is minus is marked inside and on the lid.

The cover axis is not painted. You can see a silver dot in the photo. The same on the opposite side. Without batteries, the lid hangs loose, but with them this was not noticed. Everything fits well. There are almost no gaps.

The chamfer is made crookedly. On one side it goes to the side. But I noticed this only after a month.

I advise you to use batteries with a compartment for two batteries, so to speak, “married” batteries (from the same batch). Although the mod has many protections, it’s better to be safe. It is also better to charge them together and while charging, and not through a mod. Discharges batteries evenly (difference 0.01 volts). If the difference in voltage is large, then when charging through the mod, charging will stop when one of the batteries is fully charged.
When using a compartment for one battery, changing the battery will involve removing this compartment and you will have to disturb the slide.
The compartment for one battery, as well as for two, already has metal slides

He stands up crookedly.

Pin. At first the atoms were difficult to wind up, but later the positive contact sank. The mod never showed an inscription that there was no atomizer (this happened to me often on ipower).

It fits comfortably in the hand in both uses. After a month of use, the paint holds up well, except for the corner inside the two-battery version. I always liked the coating of EVICs.
I won’t talk about controls and settings. It is no different from other EVs, reviews of which are available here. But the watch surprised me. I set them up, then the mod sat for a month without batteries, and the clock did not go wrong.
Comparison with ipower 80w and photos with gear rda and combo rta

Convenient boxmo for little money. If you want one battery, you want two. Of the competitors, I only know 2/3 of Ryksa, but there is already another choice.
