On New Year's Eve, many webmasters decorate their blogs and websites accordingly (for example, which I recently wrote about). Although, of course, New Year's icons provide the most invaluable help in this process. In general, icons are probably the simplest and most unobtrusive way to add a little festive mood to your website. You just need to tinker a little in Photoshop and add a couple of New Year’s icons to the standard design elements so that the project is “ready for the holidays.” This could even be a simple change in the RSS icon, adding a “Christmas tree or Santa” to the header, the main thing is not to add a falling snowflakes script :)

Winter Holiday and Christmas Icons

Winter Holiday Icons - this collection includes icons of traditional Christmas and New Year symbols (cap, tree, snowman, etc.). The default icon format is .png, but there is a delivery option convenient for Mac OS X users. Christmas Icons 2 is essentially a continuation of the Winter Holiday Icons set. The developer of the icons is the same, so even the download page is the same. Such New Year icons can be very organically integrated into your website, giving it a festive look. By the way, pay attention, there are still many interesting, and most importantly free, icons on other topics!

Smashing Christmas Icon Set

Smashing Christmas Icon Set - this beauty was made for Smashing Magazine by the Russian studio SoftFacade. It contains 10 icons, including RSS, Shopping cart, Calendar, Contacts and more. Icon resolution is 64x64 and 128x128 pixels. Formats - .png and .ico. Each icon is a work of art, worked out to the smallest detail and made with soul - a super set.

Happy Santa icons

Happy Santa icons - this set of icons plays on the theme “Santa Claus from different angles.” The icons are made with high quality (I would even say in the style of the same Smashing Magazine). Due to the same design style, it can be used to visually represent different sections or pages of the site, for example, “Santa with by mailbox" - these are contacts, where the car is the delivery section, "Santa with a book" is suitable for the frequently asked questions (FAQ) section, etc., you just need to use your imagination.

Christmas Icon Mix

Christmas Icon Mix is a large (no, huge) archive of icons, which contains everything! This collection alone can be considered complete. The total size is about 102 mb. Included 9 EPS files, plus jpeg preview. I didn’t count the number of individual icons, but believe me, there are a lot of them. Looking at the picture above, I think you can feel the enormity this set- snowmen, Christmas trees, gifts and many other useful visual images. We can confidently say that the Christmas Icon Mix set of New Year icons is a worthy addition to the collection for any designer.

There may be very little time left before the New Year, but I’m sure you will still have time to use some of the presented sets for your website in order to add a festive atmosphere to it.

P.S. Guard. The new freelance exchange Golance is for everyone who is interested in working remotely - design, programming, texts, translations and many other areas.

Our project has many interesting icons for the site, and there are also thematic sets. for the website will be useful for those who want to decorate their website for the New Year and Christmas. There are many ways to decorate your resources for a particular holiday, one of the ways is to use New Year's icons in some parts of the site. Insert a Christmas tree into the header of the site, add Santa Claus's hat to the logo - all this will bring a smile to the face of users, they will understand that your site is relevant and active.

All icons are 128x128 pixels in size. The set includes Christmas tree decorations, a snowman, and even garlands.

Perhaps the highest quality and most interesting set in this collection. Iconka has always pleased with her work, and continues to do so. The archive contains icons in PNG and ICO format, sizes: 96x96, 64x64.

The set is no less high-quality, and the sizes will be larger here, but the contrast is not impressive. This was probably the author's intention. There are only three icons: a bag with gifts, a cat in a Santa Claus hat, and a wreath.

There are only 3 badges, and they are of good quality. I would not use this set for website design. It will only serve as an addition to other design elements.

7. Christmas PNG Icon Set

Although the archive contains only PNG, it is clear that the set is intended for the desktop. There is also a “My Computer” icon, and there are many options for the folder icon.

In the archive you will only find the face of Santa Claus. You can use the icons as emoticons.

Nice set of New Year icons. There really is a lot to choose from here. The main content of the archive is multi-colored Christmas tree balls.

Hello friends. On the eve of the New Year, of course, I want to post something on the topic. I found these cute New Year themed icons. I am sharing with you. The archive contains 33 icons with various images on them. The difference between this assembly and many others posted on my site is the presence of different formats: Adobe Illustrator(AI, EPS), Adobe Photoshop(PSD), SVG, and of course PNG. So all icons can be edited in your favorite editors, and also used on the site in SVG format.

Images on icons

It might be stupid to list, because: what kind of icons could there be for the New Year theme? Well, of course, Santa Claus, Christmas tree, snowflakes and so on. But this way you can find the icons you need through a search on the site or even google search or Yandex. So I'll go through the list: Santa's face, several types of snowflakes, reindeer in a glass ball, X-MAS sign, star, carrier pigeon, bells, gnome, weird reindeer with glasses, Christmas stocking, teddy bear, moon, snowman, mittens, various Christmas tree decorations, Christmas tree, hat, Santa Claus or Santa Claus on a sleigh, cookie man.

The icons are made in a cartoon style in gentle but bright colors: red, green and blue. In PSD, by the way, you can separate the circles from the images themselves and then you will get completely different icons, but I like them better round. Happy 2016 and goodbye.

How can I distinguish folders with holiday clipart from other folders on my computer?

Do you know what you can change standard view folder, replacing it with the original image. The images that you will use should be stored in a place from where you will no longer move it, because if you delete it or move it to another location, your folder will lose its appearance.

So, let's put our materials in order and put all the collected materials into separate folders. For example, I have a folder “Musical Cards” (MO for short). In it, at first I created various other folders - CLIPPARTS, AUDIO. VIDEO, ANIMATION.

But there are postcards on different topics - these are the seasons, these are various holidays, so my MO folder over time has grown to exceed tens of GB. I began to divide the material by seasons and various holidays, and in each of these folders I had all the same clipart, audio, video and animation.

Those folders that I don't need on this moment. I throw it on cloud storage, and when the time comes, I return them to my computer, and even then, not completely - some files are simply stored on the cloud until the right moment.

Over time, folders with the name of the year began to appear in my seasonal folders, since many projects are created every year, and when they are all together, you begin to get confused - where is which project from which postcard.

And now, while putting things in order on my computer, I found a folder with New Year-themed ICONS, and decided to slightly embellish the design of my folders on the computer.

To be more precise, I don’t touch the folders themselves, but change the type of shortcuts that open the folders I need.

Where do you store all the material you need so that it is always at hand? Of course, you want it to be on the desktop, and often the desktop becomes cluttered to such an extent that it is difficult to navigate what is where.

It is not recommended to store any files on the desktop, except perhaps just shortcuts, since the Desktop is located on drive C, where the operating system is installed (in most cases). All voluminous and important materials should be stored on another drive, for example, D. After all, if, for some reason, you suddenly need to reinstall the operating system, all files from drive C will be destroyed.

In all the times I've had to work on a computer, I've gone through more than one reinstallation. Operating system, so I know well what it is, and the way it was explained to me, how to do it correctly, I have never lost important files.

And in order for the necessary folder to be at hand at the moment when I work with it, I place a shortcut to the folder I need on the desktop. It’s easy for me to select this folder when I’m looking for a place to save the file I need when downloading, and this folder is always at hand, because by clicking on the folder shortcut, which is on the desktop, I open the folder I need on drive D.

To take out the label desired folder to your desktop, click on it right click mouse, find in the menu - Send - and hovering the cursor, you will see - Desktop (create shortcut).

So, we have created a shortcut, now you can “transform” it by decorating beautiful image. To do this, right-click on the shortcut, go to the very bottom and find Properties - Change icon:

In order to change the icon not of the Shortcut that we created, but of the Folder itself, you need to go to Settings in the drop-down menu, after which you will see - Change icon.

Suggested standard icons are very primitive, so we click Browse to indicate another path where our new icons are located (you can download them from the link at the end of the publication):

They must have the .ico extension:

When you start working with other folders, new shortcuts will appear on your desktop. You can simply delete unnecessary or irrelevant shortcuts, because the folders they link to will not go anywhere, and you will have only those necessary for work on your desktop.

Even if there are a lot of such shortcuts, create Working Folder(RP) and just collect all the shortcuts in it, and then you will have order on your desktop.

What else can icons be useful for? They can be added like a favicon (website icon), which is visible in address bar browser:

Icons with the extension png (on transparent background), can be used on websites and in postcards:
