You bought a SIM card from the Krymtelecom operator, inserted it into your phone, checked your balance via USSD - request *100# , and it’s empty. We topped up the balance and received an SMS about funds being credited to the account. Now I really want to call, but I can’t.

You start calling, but no... the calls don’t go through, you give your number to a friend, but when he calls your number, new number the robot says that “such a number does not exist”... Yes, yes, it’s just “Krymtelecom”, where such “troubles”, unfortunately, often happen.

How to activate a Krymtelecom SIM card

It's simple:

  • Immediately ask the place where you buy the SIM card for the manager to activate it.
  • If you did not receive SIM card activation in the store for some reason, then we do it yourself: call Krymtelecom technical support at 1515 (even from an inactivated SIM card the call should “go through”), or to the number+79784001515 from a friend’s phone, we explain to the young lady what happened and demand that she activate the new SIM card.
The SIM card activation service at Krymtelecom is free. The new SIM card is “activated” after a call to support for about 5 - 10 minutes.

Crimetelecom numbers

There is one in Crimea telephone code+7978, but there are many operators on it. These are MTS, Win Mobile, Volna Mobile. When calling a number, sometimes it is not clear how much money will be charged for the call, and in general what network the subscriber is served on.

Krymtelecom numbers start with +7-978-40X XX XX.

100 thousand such network numbers have been allocated and, as far as I understand, they have not yet been used.

There is, of course, the option that the person changed the operator, and the number will begin with different numbers, but there are very few such people (I can say for sure that I was one of the first in Kerch), many have not even heard of the service of changing the operator while maintaining the number.

According to information from the Telecommunications Services Workshop No. 1 of the city of Evpatoria, State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Krymtelecom".

The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, earlier this week approved the launch of the second (officially, but in reality rather the third) cellular operator in Crimea called Krymtelecom.

Official website of the operator Krymtelecom: ktkru.ru.

Previously, Krymtelecom provided only fixed-line telephony and Internet access services on the peninsula.

Despite the fact that the Krymtelecom operator itself is completely controlled by the state, financed its construction both from the state-owned enterprise itself and from private investors.

Currently, Krymtelecom operates only in the 3G standard, but by June it is planned to launch 4G/LTE 1800 MHz fragments. The maximum data transfer speed is currently stated at 42 Mbit/s. Currently, Crimetelecom base stations are installed in the largest cities and regions of the peninsula and are capable of serving up to 500 thousand subscribers. So far there are only 128 of them, but the company plans to build about 1000 BS.

Krymtelecom coverage (officially):

Currently, the operator K-Telecom (Win-mobile) also officially operates in Crimea, although MTS itself actually operates successfully on the same network infrastructure, providing subscribers with communication with Krasnodar numbers in the code. On average, Win-mobile subscribers spend only about 140 rubles per month on communication services, which is approximately 2 times lower than the Russian average and casts doubt on the profitability of their service.

Rates

According to the director of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Crymtelecom" Vladimir Drozdenko, the newly formed operator will offer Crimeans a number of tariff plans- the most budgetary of them will now cost subscribers 200 rubles. per month (and by no means 140 - see above), unlimited - 1.5 thousand rubles.

According to the currently developed conditions, quote:

“...calls from landline to mobile phone and in the opposite direction will be free for subscribers, as well as calls within the network.”

Tariff "Optimal"- the only thing until the end of February offer for subscription fee 200 rubles per month - allows unlimited communication within the Krymtelecom network, when calling landline and mobile numbers Crimea and MTS Krasnodar Territory, plus provides unlimited Mobile Internet no speed limit. SMS to mobile numbers of all operators of the Republic of Crimea and MTS of the Krasnodar Territory is also now without restrictions. Long-distance calls cost 5 rubles/minute.

The numbers are allocated in the DEF code 978, which is already familiar to Crimeans.

Regarding the Internet, “unlimited” ends with a quota of 5 GB/day. If you exceed it for 3-5 days in a row, access via eDonkey protocols; DirectConnect (DC++) and BitTorrent will be blocked on the number.

The validity period of the “Optimal Start” tariff is from the date of connection until February 29, 2016 (inclusive). From March 1, 2016, all its subscribers will be automatically transferred to the Optimal TP. Next, clients will be offered various packages, which will cost them from 51 to 350 rubles per month, including Internet tariffs.
