Overview of the main menu of the program.

In the lower left corner are drawing tools. Notice the test tube that you can use to mix the colors in the palette on the right. To do this, simply point the test tube at the colors and drag them onto the palette.

The paint-by-numbers approach is often derided as simplistic, uncreative and formulaic. But it is worth noting that the picture is created using many colored spots. To stretch the canvas onto it you will need a furniture stapler with staples, a pencil, a spray bottle to moisten the canvas and a hammer. First you need to put the front side on the picture and smooth it out with your hands. Then place a stretcher on top and mark the boundaries of the canvas with a pencil.

After this, you can start stretching; before doing this, you can lightly moisten the inside. The first bracket is attached to the center of one of the long sides. Then they stretch the canvas on the other side as tightly as possible, but not so much as to tear it, and fasten it on the other side in the same way. Sometimes you may need a hammer to drive the staple deeper into the canvas. A stretched strip should appear in the center. Then the same is repeated with the remaining sides. After everything is ready, it should be moistened on the back side so that after drying it will straighten out. If you didn’t succeed in stretching the painting evenly the first time, you can wet it again and, removing some of the staples, correct the shortcomings. Yes, not everything is so rosy, of course, there are also difficulties. I'll tell you about mine. It happens that I get an order for a painting based on a phone photo taken at night. The scheme will be terrible, the colors will be terrible! And no other program can get it out! You can make a picture from such a photograph only by hand drawing. The same thing - photos from classmates compressed 10 times and taken without understanding how (((You can’t even make out the color of the eyes, or even the eyes themselves.
If you are taking a portrait - ideally - contact a professional photographer. Yes, this is money, but you will spend money on printing on canvas, painting will take a lot of time, and also stretching and framing. And if you do it yourself with this program, you also need to pay for it. If you order a portrait from me, it won’t cost you three kopecks either. Believe me, portraits taken from professional or simply good photos They are strikingly different from phone portraits.
Secondly, if you know Photoshop, it is better to do pre-processing - improve the colors, increase the contrast, blur the background a little, focus on the lips, eyebrows, pupils, etc. Then, even after running through the Coloring program, the result will be better. But this is for perfectionists like me.
Third - when processing in progress photos - the message appears - wait, this will take about one minute. So, this will really take about a minute, but on minimum settings. And I always have the maximum. And processing may take more than an hour. At first I was nervous, I forcibly terminated the program, and thought that everything was frozen. Then I figured it out. I just put it on processing and do household chores or something else on the computer. And in fact - no matter what monsters I drove into the program and what I demanded of it - there was never a real freeze. You just need to be patient.
