Externally, the Dell Inspiron 3147 looks very nice. Plastic is used for the body, but the plastic is of good quality with a special polishing that looks like metal, but this is only an optical illusion. The surface of the case does not leave fingerprints, but as for scratches, they can occur if used carelessly; this point should be taken into account. The build quality is good, but it cannot be bad, because we are dealing with a transformer, and this means using the laptop more intensively than just a laptop whose lid has been opened or, at most, taken on the road. The netbook is equipped with steel hinges that allow you to rotate it 360 degrees. This model is designed for mobile use. The dimensions, by the way, are as follows: 300 × 201.5 × 21.2 mm, while the weight is 1.59 kg. The body color chosen is neutral - silver, both outside and inside, with the exception of the lacquered black border around the eleven-inch screen. In the middle of the lid there is a mirrored corporate logo of the manufacturer. The edges of the lid in the upper part and especially the lower end edge are rounded, like two rollers, which is made for convenience, to make it easier to grab with your finger to open the case, and the side edges are flat. The netbook is ready to transform into four modes: laptop, tent, easel and multimedia stand. The hinge is quite tight, so you need to use two hands to open the laptop.
Screen
The screen diagonal of this model is 11.6 inches. An IPS screen is used, which is covered with protective glass, and along the perimeter, as additional protection, there is a rubber roller, which also performs an anti-slip function when using the netbook in stand mode. Screen resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels, supports up to ten simultaneous touches. As for the quality of the picture on the screen, it’s pretty good. Hardware

I'm happy with the laptop. Fully meets all the stated characteristics and my expectations. Quite capacious HDD(500Gb) for such a small size. Yes, it’s not gaming friendly and a little slow, but this is understandable both from the description and the price. And for working with the Internet and storing a large volume - quite suitable option. Everything is fine with Wi-Fi - it functions normally, does not fall off, just a narrowed range. Good touch screen sensitivity. I don’t abuse transformation, but sometimes I use it, it’s convenient that it’s there.

1) A year later, the plastic showed that it scratches and rubs very easily, but this is only an aesthetic problem.

Design and ergonomics
The device looks simply amazing. It immediately becomes clear that all the details of the laptop are 100% worked out. Almost the entire body is made of practical gray plastic with a rough texture.
The designers were able to come up with a design in which both straight lines and rounded edges would look harmonious. Well, most interesting feature here are the hinges, which, in essence, make this laptop a transformer with three use scenarios.
You can work both in the usual mode and in two positions of the stand, as well as in tablet mode.
If we look at the design in more detail, then everything is implemented according to the classical scheme.
The manufacturer's logo is visible on the lid; the back panel has rubberized feet for stable operation. various surfaces, and on the side faces there are all available connectors, control keys and built-in speaker grilles. By the way, they are loud enough for listening to music and watching videos at home. The manufacturer also provided a hole for attaching a security lock. How can you expose such a beautiful laptop to the risk of being stolen?!
The working surface here is quite practical - it fits your wrists perfectly, and the large touchpad improves the level of comfort while working.
The island-type keyboard features virtually silent and smooth key travel.
The touch display has received a protective coating.

There is a mechanical Home key at the bottom.
Weighing 1.39 kg, the thickness of the device is slightly more than 2 cm. Why not an ultrabook?
Display
The 11-inch touch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Color rendition is natural, and viewing angles are at a good level.
But there are also moments that I didn’t like. This is a fairly wide frame and a glossy finish, which, together with the light source behind it, can drive even the most balanced person crazy.
Performance
Dell Inspiron 11 (3147) features a quad-core Intel processor Pentium N3530 with a frequency of 2.16 GHz (in Turbo mode Boost frequency can reach 2.58 GHz), 2 MB cache and built-in graphics adapter Intel HD Graphics. The laptop also received 4 GB of DDR3L RAM and a 500 GB hard drive.
This configuration will cope with the most common tasks, such as working with a suite of Microsoft office applications, Internet surfing, playing video in high resolution etc. In the case of launching games, I can say that most popular online games, taking into account the selection of optimal settings, will work here without any complaints.
Software
The tested model runs the Windows 8.1 operating system with a standard set of services and applications. Here I would like to talk about good software optimization, a smooth and thoughtful interface.
Communications
The laptop has wireless Wi-Fi modules 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. They work flawlessly. There is an HDMI socket to output images to an additional display, a multi-format card reader is provided for reading memory cards, and there are two for connecting various peripherals and external drives. USB port 2.0 and one USB 3.0 connector. The manufacturer did not forget about the combined 3.5 mm audio output for connecting a headset.
Working hours
