Modern people can no longer imagine their lives without mobile phone. We use it absolutely everywhere: at home, at work, while traveling. For some, it even replaces a computer and TV. In order for your smartphone to retain its appearance for as long as possible, you need to think about protective elements, for example, a handbag or case in which you will carry it.

You can make such an element with your own hands from available materials and it will be in no way inferior to the store-bought one, but on the contrary, you will have an original, unique accessory for your “assistant”.

So, let's talk about how to make a phone case.

Materials for the case

Such an accessory can be made from anything: wood, silicone, leather or thick fabric, or felt. On the Internet you can find many ready-made patterns and templates for making a case from available materials.

How can you make a case?

Sew a cover. If you know how to work with a needle and thread at least a little, then using the finished pattern you can sew a real organizer or a book case for your phone.

A simple combination of materials and their colors can achieve originality in execution. These cases last a long time and look very unusual and functional.

You can make a case using silicone glue. To make a silicone phone case with your own hands you will need:

  • glue gun;
  • silicone sticks;
  • parchment;
  • masking tape;
  • pencil.

Instructions:

  • Wrap your gadget in parchment and secure with masking tape.
  • On the body of the smartphone, transfer the pattern you like onto paper using a simple pencil. When creating an ornament, mark all the buttons and connectors on paper.
  • Take a glue gun and repeat the pencil drawing with silicone glue. Let it cool and dry.
  • Carefully remove the resulting cover and paint it with bright colors. The bumper can also be decorated with beads, rhinestones, sequins, etc.

This accessory is quite easy to make, you only need a little practice, and it looks very stylish. The only downside that can be noted is that if you don’t have a glue gun, the idea won’t come true.

New case from old

How to decorate a phone case with your own hands? Easily! Such an accessory can be made using decorative elements. Take a ready-made simple case and decorate it with rivets, rhinestones, magazine clippings, colored ribbons, buttons, in general, with anything you want.

Using colored tape you can bring an old white case back to life. Just cover it with even multi-colored stripes and you’ll have a rainbow in your pocket. You can update the accessory in half an hour, but you will have to tinker a little with the glue.

Wooden case

How to make a wooden case for a smartphone? Of course, it is almost impossible to create a completely wooden case yourself if you do not have wood carving skills, but it is quite possible to use this natural material as decoration.

Make neat diamonds, squares or triangles from wood chips and cover the PU case with it. You can also use small twigs as decorative elements.

Let us immediately note that this option is not very convenient. Due to the roughness of the surface, it will always catch on clothes and this will significantly reduce its service life.

Fabric cover

A smartphone case in the form of a handbag can be easily made from old jeans. Cut the fabric to the required size, sew it on three sides and decorate it to your taste.

Fantasize, improvise and invent! Having made a phone accessory with your own hands, be sure that it is unique and you will not find even a similar option anywhere else. IN Lately, accessories self made are very in demand and popular, as handmade things are beautiful and original.

If you do not know how to sew, then choose another manufacturing method from those listed above or your own. A gadget bag can be knitted, woven from rubber bands, or made from thick paper.

Photos of DIY phone cases

Wood is a material that never goes out of fashion. Recently, due to the dominance of plastic and other “high-tech” materials, wooden things have become a sign of style. In addition, wood is a very pleasant material to the touch. Therefore, it is quite logical to make something from it that we often touch. I'm talking about a smartphone case. In our case, this is an iPhone, but this is not at all important. A wooden case for a smartphone can be made different ways: cut on a machine, glued together from parts cut on a machine and made by hand using carpentry tools. Not everyone has machines, but not everyone has hands (potentially), so we’ll tell you about the third method.

First you need to take a wooden block a little more phone and saw off two thin plates from it. These will be the front and back walls.

Then we cut out the sides from wood to a size slightly thicker than the phone.

We fasten these blanks with wood glue and leave them to dry for a day.

Further processing can be carried out in different ways. The most common method is staining and varnishing. But if you have a desire to make a truly original case, here are examples different materials and processing methods: on the left is a case made of amaranth, covered with colorless wax, in the middle is made of oak, soaked for 5 minutes in black Rubio Monocoat oil, on the right, also made of oak, kept for 15 minutes in clear Rubio Monocoat oil. After processing, we attach a leather clasp with a sewn-in magnet to the case. We drill a hole in the case for the second magnet and attach it there with glue.

The wooden iPhone case is ready.

Wooden cases with engraving look more expensive and unusual than standard models made of plastic and silicone. This accessory will help you protect your smartphone from damage and dust. At the same time, in open access What remains is the screen and the necessary elements: camera, buttons, sensor.

Nowadays, a lot of accessories have been invented for various gadgets. There are special keychains and pendants, cases and laces, not to mention stickers and decals. Of course, you can guess this yourself - after all, technology is moving forward, which means that not only leather cases can be seen here and there. But the designers propose something completely strange - making a case out of wood. Could any of us have come up with this idea? Probably, but not so many people even think about the fact that the case does not have to be made of soft materials. Be that as it may, here we see exactly the wooden cases invented for such fashionable now iPhone gadgets- they are made of hardwood and bamboo, and there are a variety of colors - from dark wood to very light. It is also worth saying that mobile cases are designed for several brands of phones - they will also suit iPhone Touch, and iPhone Nano, and iPod Classic.

The cases look solid, beautiful and new, each has a personalized number, but another question arises - is it convenient to wear such a gadget? In theory, the case was invented so that the phone does not get scratched, if it falls, it does not break, and it is protected from dirt and dust.
