Starting from December 25, 2015, the operator will withdraw 15 rubles per day from the accounts of subscribers who have not used communication services in the last 45 days. The Internet project “Be Mobile” decided to find out what rules apply to other operators and how to act for people who use communication services irregularly.

Last news from MegaFon about revising the tariffs for inactive SIM cards with a positive balance excited the Internet. But few people noted that similar principles of “eliminating” silent people are used by all operators without exception mobile communications.

Gone are the days of the unrestrained race for subscribers at any cost. Nowadays, operators pay great attention to financial indicators, such as profitability per client and the volume of consumed communication services. Fluctuations in exchange rates, loans and the need to invest in the development of networks - all this forces market players to optimize their costs. “Dead souls”, they are also “silent”, as you understand, do not improve the statistics of average revenue per client. In addition, for each phone number the operator pays money to the state. The rent is a fixed amount. It is charged regardless of whether the number is used or not.
