Comparison of the most popular Facebook pages in general and its Russian-speaking audience revealed interesting fact. If readers of “worldwide” communities are interested almost exclusively in modern music, then visitors to the “Russian” segment of the social network have interests ranging from politics to travel, photos and antiviruses.CNews compared the listings of the most popular communities on the social network Facebook among Russian-speaking and English-speaking audiences.
The comparison showed that while the interests of domestic Facebook users range widely from the activities of President Medvedev to the business of the anti-virus developer ESET, the global reader mainly loves music and poker.
The entire top ten global Facebook communities are dedicated exclusively to media or music brands. First trademark, not related to show business, can be found in it only in 11th place in the ranking, and this brand is Coca Cola. However, its page lags behind Linkin Park, located one line above, by only 180 thousand readers or 0.6% of the total community audience, so Coca Cola has every chance of overtaking Linkin Park and breaking into the “top 10” in the coming days: Cola's daily readership growth is 46 thousand higher than that of avant-garde rockers.
The “official Facebook community” page recently became the leader in popularity among global pages. Most recently, she took over the leadership of the community of the online application Texas Hold'em Poker (“Texas poker”, the most popular version of poker rules in the world) developed by Zynga.
In total, six out of ten communities in the global “top 10” Facebook pages are dedicated to contemporary music artists. In addition to them, the pages of the series “Family Guy” (originally known as Family Guy) and the video hosting site Youtube were included in the “worldwide top”.

These include, in particular, political topics covered on the president’s page Dmitry Medvedev(President of the U.S.A Barack Obama not included in the global top 10). There is a topic of travel and advertising (selling last-minute tours) and two communities dedicated to the problems of diaspora: “Global Jewish online center Jewish.Ru” and “Russian-language forum about the USA: America.gov/ru”.
Two out of ten Russian top communities can be classified as “lifestyle” topics: this is the page of the fashion publication Look at me and, not far from it in terms of audience, “I love PHOTOS”.
Quite unexpectedly, the second most popular among the Russian-speaking audience was the Nod32 antivirus community from ESET, which was “liked” by 174 thousand users. It can be noticed that main competitor ESET in the domestic market “Kaspersky Lab” occupies only 38th line in the Russian-language Facebook top with less than 27 thousand readers.
