Articles and Lifehacks

Probably, any person at one time in his life wondered what can be found out by a phone number. In the age of technology and communications, every adult, and even many children, have a mobile phone.

Protecting the rights of the number owner

  • When applying for a SIM card with a phone number, it is doubtful that anyone thinks about the security of their personal data.
  • Of course, when drawing up an agreement with a mobile operator, you cannot do without filling out a form with passport data, residence address and other information.
  • Operating company mobile communications In accordance with the law, it undertakes to store the personal data of each client and under no circumstances disclose it. This right is regulated by the Federal Law Russian Federation“About personal data.”
  • In the event of a “leakage” of information about individual from the company's database, it will be held responsible for this.

What information can you get?

Of course, legal protection of information is good. But you can still find out information. This type of information search is carried out by specialized spy companies.

Their services are paid for by the customer. He, in turn, receives all necessary information. Not many people realize that you can find out not only where this or that person lives, but also who he is friends with, and where he is going on vacation.

For example:

  • Last name, first name and patronymic of the owner of the phone number (information is indicated when purchasing the number);
  • His date of birth (a photocopy of his passport is provided to obtain a SIM card);
  • Date of registration of the cell phone number;
  • Passport details (also a copy of the passport);
  • Place of registration and actual residence of the wanted person (passport details, questionnaire);
  • Contact numbers (stored on the server of the operator company);
  • Correspondence via SMS;
  • Frequency of calls to certain numbers (taken from the subscriber’s call printout);
  • Pages visited on the World Wide Web (printout of surfing pages);
  • Content obtained from the network;
  • Another contact phone number.
It becomes clear that a mobile phone is an excellent source of obtaining information about its owner.

Find out the owner mobile phone it is often simply necessary. The situations are different: from selling something large and valuable on the Internet to going on a date. Is it possible to break through a mobile phone in Russia and how to do it? Let's understand the issue. What does the law say about this?

On January 1, 2014, Federal Law No. 304-FZ of November 2, 2013 “On Amendments to Article 44 of the Federal Law “On Communications” and the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses” came into force. The law prohibited the street sale of SIM cards. Now the operator or a person who acts on his behalf (dealer) is obliged to enter into an agreement for the sale of the card and enter the subscriber’s passport data into it. The dealer must send a signed copy of the agreement to the operator within 10 days. And the operator must check the accuracy of the information. What operators know about subscribers

The contract must include basic information: full name, registration address, series and number of the passport, as well as when and by whom the document was issued. But if the SIM card was purchased secondhand from the metro or at a train station, then, of course, the subscriber data will be fake. You yourself understand how prohibitions work. In addition, operators have data on calls made and SMS sent. They don’t record calls (for now - keep in mind the “Yarovaya package”), but they save the contents of SMS. They also have information about the dates and amounts of balance replenishments, the current account balance, and the IMEI of the device.

Is location tracked? Yes, and not only when you call. Coordinates are recorded at the moment of entering and leaving the network, moving between cells. Technically, the operator has the ability to manually request coordinates and record the entire track. So how to break through a mobile phone?

1. Ask Incredible, but it works. Call the number, say that you are conducting a survey, ask a few simple questions. At the end, specify your first and last name.

If a person is ready to cooperate and has already answered the questions, he can automatically give his last name or first name. Especially if you promise a small bonus. For example, top up your account for participating in a survey. And even transfer these 10-20 rubles (the amount should not be large so as not to arouse suspicion). 2. Google The easiest and completely legal way to find out a lot about the owner mobile number. People often leave this information in open access. Forums, bulletin boards, social networks... If a person has “lit up” a number on the Internet at least once, there is a high probability of finding this message, using it to go to his profile, etc.

If the nickname is relatively rare or you find out something else, you can Google further. Combinations “nickname + city”, “nickname + surname”, “nickname + car make”, etc. will give additional information.

Finally, if you found a photo of a person by number, it makes sense to use the FindFace service. He finds profiles of people on VKontakte based on photos and provides links to them: It often happens that they call from an unfamiliar number and hang up. Calls to such a number may be charged. Victims often post numbers on the Internet, so Googling the number before calling is useful. 3. Check social networks Enter the number in the search social network. It can show accounts that are linked to this number, as well as posts in which it is mentioned. On Facebook, just numbers are enough. In addition, you can go to the form for restoring access to the page and enter the number. The social network will offer to send a six-digit code to this number, and next to it will show the account (photo and full name) to which it is linked: “VKontakte” allows you to enter a phone number to restore access to the page, but requires the last name to which the number is linked. 4. Log into Viber Messenger allows you to find out the user’s first name (and most often, last name) and receive a photo of the user. Click the Add button (blue with a plus in the lower right corner), then enter the phone number and add the user. After this, in the contact list you need to click on it and select “Information”. The photo, of course, can continue to be used in the same FindFace. 5. Top up his account Salon employees cellular communications When replenishing an account using a phone number, they usually see the full name of its owner. Pretend that you want to check whether the number was entered correctly and ask the employee to give the owner’s full name. Usually sellers meet halfway, suspecting nothing. Indeed, you want to top up someone’s account, which means you give the impression of an honest person. And if the manager refuses to give your full name, you can go to another salon. Trying is not torture. Again: you are not breaking anything. You just have to ask))) 6. Use special services New sites where you can get a mobile number appear regularly. But should we believe them?

For example, here is one of the first in search engine results - phonenumber.to. Reliability - depending on your luck. I checked several of my friends' numbers with their permission, and several callers confirmed the accuracy of the information. True, there is frankly little data: registration address and e-mail, sometimes also a photo. If the number has recently been changed, the service displays the old data. But there is also a lot of garbage in the service. Look, for example, at the results of recent queries that the service openly displays on home page. The site owner claims to use different software technologies so that the collected information is as accurate and comprehensive as possible. Data is obtained from open sources (the same search results), API of other sites, from people who collect and sell mobile databases. Users themselves add information, not about themselves, of course. Similar services are provided by the website nomer.me. Here they promise to punch not only the number and provide “full name, registration/registration address, date of birth, passport details of the owner, tariff, balance, date of opening (connection) of the number, history of the owners of the phone number, as well as who was the owner of the phone number in a given period time or get full list former owners" (author's spelling preserved). The developers claim that the information is obtained from employees of cellular companies, and not from offline databases, so the relevance is higher. They can name other phones that belong to the owner specified number. They will let you read SMS and provide call details. Also check credit history and so on. Prices: Naturally, full prepayment is required for everything, which is already alarming. Technically, nothing is impossible. Operators actually store subscriber data (example: https://roem.ru/03-04-2015/191001/slishkom-mnogo-dayut/). The only question is whether OPSOS employees with the required level of access will expose themselves for the sake of a few hundred rubles. Each employee signs a non-disclosure agreement confidential information(NDA). Violation is fraught with dismissal and the initiation of a criminal case. But reviews about the service are rather negative. “Scam” is the mildest definition of deceived clients. They say they promise a lot, they take money, but there is no result. You can't get into the consumer rights society with something like that. Actually, checking such services is easy. Order the information about your own phone number, and you will immediately understand everything. 7. Check the database of numbers Buy the entire database or gain access through the web interface - a method similar to the previous one. Even if the data is provided to you, there is a high risk that it will be out of date. But most often after transferring money or sending SMS on a paid number you are simply banned (blocked, added to the blacklist). 8. Contact the operator If you or your loved ones are threatened, you can contact the mobile operator directly and state the reasons for your contact in a statement. Employees must review it and provide or not provide you with information about the subscriber.

But, of course, this doesn’t work if you just need to find out information about the person you’re hiring, want to buy something from, or go on a date with. Practice shows that operators usually refuse and require an official request to be made through law enforcement agencies. 9. Go to the police, prosecutor's office, FSB, FSO The procedure is similar: write a statement to the authorities, state the reasons. If law enforcement officers consider the reason sufficient and open a case of a criminal or administrative offense (Clause 4 of Article 13 of the Federal Law “On Police”), they will make a request to the cellular operator. The company will be required to provide subscriber information. Information about who owns the number does not fall under Art. 63 Federal Law “On Communications”, so the request does not violate the confidentiality of communications. The reason, of course, must be serious for the prosecutor to authorize the request. But even if you are threatened, the process of providing data may take a long time. And it’s not a fact that the data received will be revealed directly to you. 10. Hire a private detective And they provide such services. For a couple of hundred dollars they promise your full name and address, for a thousand or more - a complete dossier: download from the operator’s database, current location, call details. They most often refer to connections with authorities and the operator. Of course, there is no guarantee. You wouldn’t report a private detective, much less a police or FSB officer. But the larger the amount, the higher the likelihood that the OPSOS employee will give out such information. Representatives of law enforcement agencies, judging by information on forums and on the darknet, are also doing the same. Of course, this is an abuse of power and a matter within the jurisdiction. But most often the method works. So there are plenty of options

In fact, the only question is whether the game is worth the candle. And without a phone number you can find enough information about many people. We have listed the legal methods. Try it and see - it's free and safe.

Hooliganism and threats made through intrusive calls force people to step up their efforts to find the subscriber on the other side of the phone. This is not easy to do, because federal laws protect personal data, but there is always a chance that the enterprise will be successful.

Search for a person by cell phone number

If a persistent subscriber calls with threats, it is better to immediately contact the police for help, because doing something on your own can be dangerous. In all other cases, you can resort to tricks: call from another cell phone, contact the operator, etc. With the right approach, you can find out not only the full name, but also the residential address of the caller.

Call back

Armed with another phone, you need to call the person and tell him that you are conducting a social survey. For participation, it is worth promising a symbolic bonus - topping up your account by 10–50 rubles. You should not name exorbitant amounts, as this will arouse suspicion. After a few simple questions, you need to ask the subscriber to introduce himself: in 9 cases out of 10 he will give his full name.

Application to law enforcement agencies

If you receive threats from a mysterious stranger, it is better to immediately contact law enforcement agencies. The application must clearly state the reason for the application: if it is compelling, specialists will make a request to the cellular operator (to whom the number is registered) and conduct a verification using passport data. The information received will be used for the investigation, but it is not a fact that the owner’s contacts will be passed on to the plaintiff.

Contacting your mobile operator

If you regularly receive threats from strangers, you can contact the service provider directly and state the reason for the contact in a statement. Employees must review it and decide whether to provide data or not. Practice shows that mobile operators they often refuse, requiring an official request through law enforcement agencies.

How to find out who called on the Internet for free

IN public access there is a lot of data about each person. This method is completely legal, because people sometimes post information about themselves on various Internet platforms. Another thing is that this information may turn out to be unreliable or outdated, then it will be impossible.

Messengers

Popular applications (Viber, WhatsApp, Skype) often allow you to find out not only the user’s first name, but also the last name. To do this, click the “Add” button, enter the phone number and confirm the action. After this, in the “Information” field you can see the user’s personal data and photo.

Social media

The number must be entered in search bar VKontakte: then the entries in which he was mentioned, as well as the accounts to which he is linked, will be displayed. You can go to the form for restoring access to the page and enter your phone number. The social network will offer to send a six-digit code and will show the account being restored. At this stage, you can find out the owner's first and last name.

Search sites

The easiest way is to enter his phone number in Google or Yandex. If a person posted advertisements somewhere, the system will definitely reflect this. It is possible that the photo will also appear.

Sometimes annoying calls are made from paid numbers: the scammer hangs up after one ring, and when call back money is withdrawn from the subscriber. Victims often post information about attackers online, so it’s best to check the information before making a call.

Sberbank Online

Transferring money by phone number is a great way to find out cardholder details through an online service. Donate the minimum amount to the conspirator so that during the transfer the system will display the first name, patronymic and first letter of the last name of the person who owns the account.

Databases or directories of cell phone numbers

You can use special paid and free resources. There is a high probability that the database will be outdated or the required number simply will not be there. It is better to refuse the paid option: after transferring funds, scammers often block the buyer and do not send him anything.

Special programs and mobile applications

Thanks to special utilities possible as accurately as possible. The programs are not free, but most of them work. WITH mobile bases data is more difficult because its reliability is questionable.

This mobile phone application is a global telephone directory with information about popular contacts. At the time of the call, the numbers are determined automatically and displayed with the subscriber's full name. The program is popular in the countries of the European Union, so it is problematic to “calculate” domestic users with its help. The exception is “hot” phones – spam, scammers, debt collectors.

“Punching numbers” - phone ID from Google

Thanks to this application, you can easily identify a person by cell number: see all registered pages on social networks, on sales platforms, etc. Registration is required, but the developers guarantee the confidentiality of user data. Preface

The reasons why we may be trying to find the owner of a number can be very different.

But if these are threats that you or your loved ones receive, then you should not try to deal with this person on your own. It's better to file a complaint with law enforcement agencies.

Advice: Along with the application, provide voice recordings of the threats. To do this, record one or more conversations using your phone.

The easiest way is to use one of the applications designed for this. For example, there is "Record phone calls to MP4" , which can be downloaded.

Using it is extremely simple - open the application and turn the switch in the upper right corner to "On"

After that everything telephone conversations will be recorded and you can copy them to a flash drive.

After that, take the flash drive and go to the nearest police station, where you can write a statement and wait for the hearing.

The fact is that law enforcement agencies have completely legal access to the above-mentioned telephone databases.

And investigators or other representatives of these authorities can calmly see who owns the phone, find this person at his residence address and/or registration, and come to him to “talk” about the threats.

And if you need to complete the task for some other reason, use one of the methods described below.

Search engines

The most banal and simple way, which literally lies on the surface, is to , or any other search engine and enter the desired number.

The fact is that phone owners one way or another post their numbers on social networks, message boards, forums, various websites, and so on.

Perhaps the person was offering some services or selling a product and posted his number for this.

In the 21st century, the situation is such that almost each of us has at least once “lit up” his number somewhere.

Even if you simply indicated it when registering on some resource, it means that it is already present somewhere and can be found.

So just enter the desired number into the search engine and enjoy the result.

Hint: Enter the phone number without +38 if it is Ukraine and without +7 if it is Russia and so on.

When writing this material, we entered one number and, to everyone’s surprise, we managed to find the owner very quickly - he “spotted” it in one of the groups. As you can see in Figure 2, he entered it when collecting the fan club. Actually, when going to the first search result, I was able to see what kind of user this was. When I went to his page on a social network, I was also able to find out where he lives, what he is interested in, and so on. Everything is extremely simple!

But it happens that using search engines gives nothing. Then you should try to search directly in places where the person could be “exposed.”

Social media

Judging by the search results, users from this country most often post advertisements on this resource. Also, check out the following sites:

  • Russia.free classifieds.rf;
  • adiso.ru;
  • russia.dorus.ru;
  • rusale.net;
  • businessmarket.rf.

If you do not agree with the above lists and, be sure to use the search on them.

As for forums, there are quite a lot of them and they are all thematic. It simply doesn’t make sense to search for everyone.

If a search in a regular search engine yields nothing, but you at least have a rough idea of what kind of person you are looking for, you can try to find him on a thematic forum that you think might interest him.

But this method is ineffective.

That's all!

Actually, this is where all legal methods of searching for a person, that is, the owner of a particular phone number, end.

Everything there is also paid and the prices are almost the same as phone-location.net.

In addition to sites, there are also quite regular rates from various mobile operators, which allow you to track the location of a person.

Operator tariffs

Important! It’s worth saying right away that all the tariffs that we will consider allow you to determine the location only with the consent of the subscriber. When you order the service, he will receive a notification and he can agree or refuse to let someone know where he is.

So, here is a list of currently available tariffs from Russian mobile operators that make it possible know the user's location:

    "Locator" - MTS Russia. The operator allows you to see where your friends and relatives are. But no one checks who exactly you will be tracking, so you can connect any subscriber. The cost of connecting to the service is 100 rubles per month, provided that you submit 100 requests to find out the location. In fact, the price of one request is 1 ruble. You can study this service in more detail on the website mpoisk.ru.

    Beeline.Coordinates from Beeline. The conditions are the same as, but the cost is 1.7 rubles every day, regardless of the number of requests. But you can track a maximum of 5 people. More information can be found at
