Everything appears on the Internet more reviews MegaFon Login 3 tablet. Here are real reviews with graphs and screenshots. Some guys even sniff the colorimeter tablet.

Meanwhile, this model Not intended for testing at all. It's about something else. The buyer of a tablet for 1990 rubles (which is exactly how much MegaFon Login 3 costs) is concerned with only one question.

- How is he in general, okay?

I answer - NORMAL. You can take it.

In general, this review can be completed. But I will still add a few words for the most incredulous.

Quite often you need a tablet that you don’t mind. It wouldn't be a shame to throw it in the car as a navigator. It’s not a pity to give it to children to be torn to pieces. Don't mind throwing it in your bag just in case.

MegaFon Login 3 is the right tablet that you don't mind. He misses the stars from the sky. Its seven-inch screen with an IPS matrix has a resolution of 1024x600, and from the severe unevenness of the backlight you will immediately understand that the matrix, to put it mildly, is not expensive. But this is noticeable only on dark background. As well okay.

The processor there is weak by today's standards, Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8210. There is no power in him, only weakness. Two cores, overclocked to 1.2 GHz. But all sorts of simple toys, like “birds”, “farms” and other things, will do. Don't expect anything more. There is only 4 GB of onboard memory, and more than half of it is occupied by the system. I tried to install Asphalt 8, but it simply didn’t fit there. Therefore, you can’t play any three-dimensional games. As well okay.

Fine!

There is a slot for a SIM card. Of course, only the MegaFon one is suitable. There is no LTE support, but taking into account the fact that MegaFon, almost the only operator, can get good speed over 3G, it’s generally normal.

Navigation programs work perfectly, the GPS signal is picked up quickly, despite the sanctions. Back is fine!

Battery 3500 mAh. There is nothing to load it on the tablet. The diagonal of the matrix is small, the processor is on a strict Kremlin diet. You can watch the video for seven hours straight! This is 10 episodes of House of Cards! Almost the entire season! This is absolutely normal!

The Android version is the most recent - 4.4.4. And if it weren't for a bunch of pretty demons useful software, which you can’t delete without ROOT rights, would be great. And so it’s just normal.

The back cover is metal. So cold. In summer it's ok.

You can talk on a tablet like you would on a phone. Guys with big hands and they will be happy with their heads. There is also a front camera for video communication. You can switch from it to the rear camera, but the quality of the video and photos there is such that it would be better to cover the hole with chewing gum. As well okay.

Camera of the “On You So That It Was” variety

Well, the most important argument for buying. Get ready.

The tablet has a radio! Catch “Chanson” and “Echo of Moscow”! You just need to connect headphones as an antenna. And it would be normal without the bazaar!

And one more nuance. The tablet costs 1,990 rubles, but upon purchase you need to add another 700 rubles to your account for the Internet S option for two months (3 GB of traffic monthly). But even taking into account this additional payment, it turns out fine.

There are a lot of cheap tablets on sale now. Just the other day, a friend boasted that he bought something Chinese for as much as 1,300 rubles. But there is a matrix from the “Burst My Eyes” series and a processor “One sluggish, crumpled core.” You can only use it out of curiosity and not for long, because either it will die of its own accord or you will smash it against the wall out of irritation.

MegaFon Login 3 is quite usable. If you don’t expect anything supernatural from him, you’ll be pleased. And for the supernatural there are plenty of other models. And for a completely different price.

Positioning

The previous tablet of the Login series, number 2, became a bestseller; for several months it led sales among all tablets on Russian market, which was a consequence of its low price (2,990 rubles plus a subscription for several months of Internet from MegaFon). Updating this device to the third version was supposed to bring even less cost, since the operators adopted MegaFon's know-how. Thus, MTS launched a promotion with budget tablets at a price of 1,990 rubles and additional connection. Moreover, before the autumn season, when Login 3 was planned to be released. MegaFon responded to this not only with its model, but also by reducing prices for a number of budget tablets as part of the promotion; their price is still the same 1,990 rubles. In Moscow, upon purchase, you still need to connect two months in advance tariff plan“Internet S”, which still makes the offer very interesting. Please note that back in February the cost of the second Login was fundamentally different - 2,990 rubles and about 700 rubles per account; today, together with the traffic package, the third version of the Login does not reach 3,000 rubles. This is a new price category that destroys competition in budget tablets, making operators the main players in this market. Partial subsidies or waiver of margins on such devices are only possible for operators, and in terms of price/quality ratio their products become very interesting.

Positioning Login has not changed, let me repeat what I said about the second version: “Positioning? Most cheap tablet with 3G. And even without a 3G module, this is still the cheapest tablet. It is often bought for children as a first, when they don’t mind if it gets broken. Although, in my opinion, for children the quality of the screen comes to the fore, and this is not worth saving. As a children's tablet, this is definitely not the best choice. On the other hand, if your budget is limited, then you won’t look at anything else for the money.

This tablet is very interesting as a purchase for corporate needs - when employees in the field need an inexpensive device with communication capabilities, including using Skype, Whatsapp and other applications. The tablet outperforms regular smartphones in terms of screen size and the ability to find other uses.

And finally, it is obvious that the device is often bought as a first tablet, when they do not know why it is needed and how useful it will be in the household. And they are trying to save as much as possible on such a device. The approach is not very justified, but with a limited budget it has the right to life. Let's see what you get for your money."

Design, dimensions, control elements

The front panel of the tablet is familiar - black plastic, a neat rectangle, and an inconspicuous front camera. And here rear end The tablet is made of metal, it is a sort of burnished shade. It is better not to carry metal devices, the paint will wear off, as happened on my tablet, it rubbed against the MacBook.

If you take the tablet vertically, like a phone, then on the left side there will be a power button, as well as a paired volume key. At the top end there is a microUSB connector, a 3.5 headphone jack, and a Reset button. The reset button is clearly marked; in the previous tablet, the microphone hole could be confused with it. Behind the hinged lid there is a microSD slot, as well as a slot for a regular SIM card. You can also see the camera lens on the back panel.

Size – 192x118x10 mm, weight – 300 grams. Quite compact, well assembled, no complaints about the tablet. For the money it is a very good offer, which beats its competitors both in terms of its body and a number of other features.

Compared to Google Nexus 7

We can say that the complaints about Login 2 in the third version have been taken into account and everything has been redesigned (the factory is the same), the microUSB connector is no longer recessed so much into the case, you can use any chargers. The slot for the SIM card and memory cards has been removed under a flap, glossy plastic has been abandoned in the body design, it is now more practical. This is a cheaper but much better made model. It is amazing that the changes have occurred in such a short period of time.

Display

Screen with a diagonal of 7 inches (TFT, IPS, capacitive), resolution – 1024x600 pixels, up to 262,000 colors. There is no automatic backlight brightness adjustment. On paper, this screen is completely similar to the previous model, the characteristics are the same. In practice, these are two different worlds - the difference is simply striking, the screen is noticeably brighter, conveys colors better, although it cannot be called ideal in every sense. But the viewing angles are better, and the fonts are rendered well. All together suggests that this is a completely different user experience.

You can change the size of fonts, adapt them even for those who have poor vision - the limitation here is not in the software, but in the physical size of the screen. In the sun it becomes blind, but we can read it.

The screen is extremely good in its class and offers good capabilities. This is one of the biggest improvements over the previous version. And here is a comparison of screens with Login 2.

Memory, memory cards, hardware platform, performance

If the second Login had a chipset from Qualcomm, which necessitated the need for 3G support, then the advantages ended there - only 512 MB random access memory, very slow work in most applications, which directly affected the perception of the tablet. Considering the cost, one could turn a blind eye to this, because for that kind of money it’s difficult to get something more productive. But in Login 3 they were able to almost double the productivity, and by any standards the tablet can no longer be called slow, it has become noticeably more comfortable. Let's start with the fact that the amount of RAM is now 1 GB. The volume of built-in memory is 4 GB, as before, it is divided into equal parts, with 1 GB available to you in each section. You can install memory cards up to 32 GB, which is enough for most people.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8210 chipset – two cores, maximum frequency per core up to 1.2 GHz. This also gives a noticeable boost in performance. Look at the results in synthetic tests, they are approximately twice as high as for Login 2.

Considering that you expect very slow performance for ultra-budget devices, here you come across a completely different approach. This is a normal, common solution for people, and there are no particular disadvantages in terms of performance.

Battery

Regular battery 3500 mAh, Li-Ion (in Login 2 – 3000 mAh). Thanks to the Qualcomm chipset, this is one of the most energy-efficient budget tablets. With about 20 minutes of calls, about 2.5 hours online and 1.5 hours of watching a movie (which was downloaded to the same device), plus an hour of other activities, the tablet worked until the evening from early morning. In the modest mode of reading mail, chatting on Skype, and the like, the operating time increases dramatically - it’s 4-5 days. We can say that the operating time is quite good, and this really sets the model apart from competitors with batteries of similar capacity. I will also add that the operating time compared to Login 2 has increased by about 15 percent, this is influenced not only by the battery capacity, but also by the overall system performance.

Full charging time is about 2 hours or so (included Charger).

Camera

The front camera can be used for video calls, but its quality leaves much to be desired. The main camera is 3.2 megapixel (in Login 2 - 2 megapixel), without autofocus. As expected, it’s nothing, it’s made for show – you’re unlikely to use it, your phone probably has a much better camera.

Software – Android 4.4.4

The tablet uses almost “bare” Android, except that MegaFon has modified a number of functions, such as system updates. You can install it manually from a microSD card (if you have required file), and load by air. It is curious that this is one of the few devices with the latest Android versions, and, apparently, it will receive further updates. A sort of Nexus from MegaFon.

Programs from MegaFon are represented by the “Money” utility (electronic wallet), “MegaFon Navigator” (useless navigation program), GetUpps! (the application store from Yandex and MegaFon is also completely unnecessary), the “Replace beep” utility (replacing regular beeps with a melody that the caller hears), Grass (music).

The obvious disadvantage of this product is that the operator tried to embrace the immensity and squeeze all its current programs, as well as partner programs, into a budget device; for example, the phone also has a browser from Yandex and their navigation. Based on the assumption that this device should be used by a person unfamiliar with Android, another is unlikely to buy it, we must ask whether he needs three navigation programs - Google Maps, Yandex Maps and MegaFon Navigator, the latter is a copy of the second program with additional information operator about salons and so on.

MegaFon is not alone in this approach, but this does not mean that it is the right thing to do. Downloading a bunch of useless, duplicate software is not a rule of good manners, but rather something similar to spam. This is not an alternative for the user, but a solution to certain business problems regarding the number of presets. The uselessness of the GetUpps app store! almost complete, it has no advantages over the original, it is secondary - the same can be said about the browser, which, moreover, is somewhat slower than the original, which makes its necessity even more doubtful.

Among other things, I would like to note the presence of FM radio; it works well. Additional and useful software includes a file manager, voice recorder, notes.

Impression

Of course, like other similar devices, this tablet can be used as a phone - both with and without a headset. What truly amazed me was the progress that occurred in six months. The previous version Login 2 was cheap and popular. As a result, we had to put up with a number of shortcomings, in particular, performance was far from ideal. Login 3 has done so much work on bugs that it’s time to say that this is a product of a different price class, it should cost noticeably more - but in practice it is cheaper by a thousand rubles and costs 1,990 rubles plus a traffic package for 2 months.

Let me briefly list the main changes: the amount of RAM has been increased to 1 GB, the screen diagonal is the same as the resolution, but its quality has increased noticeably. The battery capacity has been increased to 3500 mAh, from 3000 mAh. The body was made of metal. Camera resolution has increased. The chipset was changed and the performance doubled. And all this while the cost drops by 30 percent. Fantastic.

On the market, MegaFon and MTS have tablet offers for 1,990 rubles, you will find almost a dozen different models. But none of them offer a metal body, which is one of the most noticeable differences. And then you need to look at performance, there are almost no solutions on Qualcomm, and if there are, then on previous versions. Using Qualcomm instantly improves battery life, which will be critical for many.

Despite the fact that Login 3, unlike the previous device, enters an already existing market where there are different offers, I have no doubt that it will become a bestseller. There are all the prerequisites for this, and the quality of this tablet is very high level. And the functionality is such that it is very difficult to find fault with it; in terms of price/quality ratio, it is one of best tablets On the market. If you need a budget device, I highly recommend taking a closer look at this model.

Just four years ago, a tablet could be used to determine a person’s wealth and approximate income. They were expensive and the range was small. Products only famous manufacturers mobile gadgets met then on the shelves. But over time, tablets have become more accessible, and today they are one of the essential attributes of modern comfortable life. Now you can count more than a thousand manufacturers that produce these devices.

The situation in our country is completely different from the rest of the world. The most popular tablets in Russia are those that have a relatively low price. For this reason, giants such as Samsung and Apple occupy the minimum segment of the market, and cheap “Chinese” products are selling like hot cakes. One of these is the Megafon Login 3 tablet, reviews and specifications which we will consider today.

Specifications

Usually tablets have the lowest price price category purchased by caring parents for their children. And this is understandable, because it is not a pity to let them be “slaughtered”: you won’t lose too much money, but there will be at least some benefit. Also, cheap devices can often be seen as a working tool among couriers, forwarders, and people on business trips. Naturally, this is done due to low cost. In case of loss or damage, the device is not so sorry.

Judging by the customer reviews the Megafon Login 3 tablet received, we can say that this gadget, in addition to its low cost, is also quite functional. Let's look at its technical characteristics to make sure of this.

  • operating system: Android version 4.4.4;
  • screen: 7-inch diagonal IPS matrix with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, pixel density 169 ppi;
  • processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8210, two cores, frequency 1.2 GHz;
  • GPU: ;
  • amount of RAM: 1Gb;
  • internal memory: 4Gb;
  • memory expandability: support for memory cards up to 32Gb;
  • camera: main - 3.2 MP (resolution 2048×1536), front - 0.3 MP (resolution 640×480);
  • communications: 2G/3G, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS;
  • battery: Li-Ion 3500mAh;
  • dimensions: 192x118x10 mm;
  • weight: 300g.

Judging by technical reviews owners should deserve good ones. And this is understandable, because it can be purchased for only 1990 rubles. I would like to note a very important feature in the form of the ability to write SMS and make calls via GSM communications. At its core, our tablet is a simple smartphone with a seven-inch screen. But now even a weak budget gadget for such a price is difficult to find, but here for 2000 rubles you can get two in one. In general, this decision of the company is a huge plus.

Equipment

The tablet is delivered in a thick cardboard box with a print of a characteristic color. The cover shows the tablet itself and its name. On the sides are brief technical specifications that the Megafon Login 3 tablet can boast of. It received good reviews regarding the packaging itself. Everything seems reliable and durable.

Opening the lid, we will see a small seven-inch gadget that lies neatly in a special recess. It is packaged in protective shipping film, which guarantees the integrity of the device. Under the stand there are documents, a guarantee, USB cable for connecting to a computer and a network adapter and the adapter itself. Unfortunately, the headset is not included in the standard set. But the tablet would receive the same even if it was available.

Appearance

If you don’t look at the price of the tablet, which clearly demonstrates its budget nature, then at first glance it looks quite prestigious. The reason for this is the presence of aluminum back cover, which is surrounded on the sides by plastic. I am also very pleased with the assembly of the gadget. Nothing creaks or wobbles here. True monolithic construction. Let's take a closer look at the Megafon Login 3 tablet, reviews, photos of all the main external elements.

Plastic on the sides Low quality, but it does and does not get dirty so quickly. As for the front panel, everything here is done in gloss. The factory protective film is practically useless, and users immediately replace it with a more reliable purchased option.

Let's look at the Megafon Login 3 tablet reviews and appearance characteristics in more detail. So, the front panel is almost completely occupied by the touch display. On the sides, if you hold the tablet in a horizontal orientation, there is a fairly wide frame. It is slightly narrower at the top and bottom. Users note that this decision allows you to hold the tablet in a vertical orientation with one hand and at the same time the sensor cannot be accidentally touched.

If you hold the tablet vertically, then above the screen, near the earpiece, there is a front camera. There is nothing else on the front panel. All soft keys are touch sensitive and are located on the display.

The Megafon Login 3 tablet (see photo of the back side above) demonstrates in all its glory the available 3.2 MP main camera peephole, the manufacturer’s company inscription and the call speaker. Its volume is decent, but when the volume is set above average, it begins to produce a low-quality, hoarse sound.

The upper end has a special plastic plug. Under it are hidden slots for SIM cards and a microSD flash drive. MicroUSB output, headphone jack and reset button are located nearby. In principle, judging by user reviews, these elements do not create discomfort in using the gadget.

The left edge contains the power off and lock button. Hidden underneath is a volume rocker. To be honest, the left-side placement of these important buttons is rather unusual. Usually the shutdown button itself is located on top, but the manufacturer decided to break all stereotypes and monotony. The Megafon Login 3 tablet would have better reviews if it were not for such courage of the developers. Naturally, you can get used to the left-side arrangement of the buttons, but when you pick up this device for the first time, you start to get a little lost.

The right edge does not have any function keys. The bottom edge only has a microphone for talking.

Overall, this tablet makes a mostly good impression. Naturally, there are some downsides. But a state employee cannot be ideal.

Display

The Megafon Login 3 tablet, which we are reviewing, has a small screen with a diagonal of 7 inches. It is made on the basis of an IPS matrix with quite good resolution at 600x1024 pixels. It is worth noting that thanks to the use of high-quality components, the screen itself has very large viewing angles and practically does not fade when they change. But due to the use of a special coating, it is uncomfortable to work with the tablet in some modes.

In bright sunlight, the information on the screen is almost invisible. This, of course, is a minus of low image contrast. The lack of a light sensor is a bit disappointing, and brightness adjustment is only done manually.

In general, in comparison with other gadgets of a similar price category, the Megafon Login 3 has a good screen. The w3bsit3-dns.com tablet was rated well precisely because the manufacturer took into account the wishes of users regarding the second version of the gadget.

As for the sensor, it is capacitive. It responds well to touch and can support up to five points at a time.

Software

Normal operation of the tablet is ensured thanks to the latest version of Android OS at the time of release. In appearance, it is completely similar to a classic tablet OS. The right menu allows you to customize fast access to applications and functions independently.

It is also possible to work with several desktops at once in screen lock mode. It is recommended to put shortcuts on them specifically for those applications that are most often used. At the same time, the speed of their launch increases significantly.

Pre-installed software

Let's look at the main “built-in” software that the Megafon Login 3 tablet has. Reviews from those who have already tried this gadget are not very encouraging. The point is that instead of standard programs, which come with a clean OS, there is a lot of unnecessary junk installed here. Most users immediately remove them, since these programs are of little use. In return, they install more functional software, but in smaller quantities. The situation is a little relieved by the GooglePlay client, which the manufacturer did not think to remove.

Multimedia

Multimedia is not very impressive. Everything is standard here. It will not be difficult to replace with new and more functional video and audio players those that the Megafon Login 3 tablet already has. The reviews and characteristics of these programs are not particularly encouraging. In particular, the standard video player does not read all formats and is a bit slow in encoding audio. In addition to the video player, there are no other multimedia programs here. For this reason, their installation is the responsibility of the users.

Cameras

The quality of shooting with the main 3.2 megapixel camera was also not very pleasing to those who purchased the Megafon Login 3 tablet. We will not review its capabilities in detail. We can only say that the camera does not have autofocus and flash. You can get normal quality pictures in good lighting. But this is still not something that can be watched on the big screen in the future.

The front camera also does not shine with image quality. It is used to make video calls and for this reason it has not received much criticism from users due to its functional purpose.

Filling

The “heart” of the Megafon Login 3 tablet is a dual-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz. For a budget employee, this indicator is good. 1 GB RAM ensures normal response when launching applications. Naturally, the Megafon Login 3 tablet received quite good performance reviews. The fact is that few people expected such a “quick” reaction from him.

There is very little internal memory here. But thanks to the ability to expand it using a flash drive up to 32 GB, the problem itself disappears.

Offline mode

The battery capacity in the tablet in question is 3500 mAh. This, together with an energy-efficient chipset, allows the gadget to operate for about a day with average usage. To be honest, this is a very good indicator, and the Megafon Login 3 tablet received positive reviews from users regarding how it holds its charge.

It was noted that if you just look through mail and chat in instant messengers, the battery life can reach 4 days. Agree, this is a very good indicator.

conclusions

The Megafon Login 3 tablet received generally good reviews. This result was achieved due to the fact that no one expected functionality from a budget device in the lowest price category. And this is true, because it is not always possible to get a smartphone that can make calls and a tablet at the same time at a price slightly below 2,000 rubles. The manufacturer let us down a little with the location of the keys and the contrast of the display, but these are minor things.

For some reason, the first lines when writing this post would like to recall an article by a famous party figure with the loud title “Dizziness from success...”. Its title can serve as a kind of epigraph to this review. For those who are not yet aware, relatively recently the Megafon company introduced new smartphone from the popular Megafon Login line - Megafon Login 3. Since the beginning of February it can already be purchased in retail network the company's communication stores, however, against the backdrop of the widely advertised Megafon Login+ phablet, about which not so long ago its appearance on GT went completely unnoticed.

I must admit, even from the “second version” of logins, I closely followed the entire line of branded devices from Megafon, because I was extremely interested in what we would see in the “third release”. The prerequisites were extremely good. Judge for yourself, after Megafon Login 2 (MS3A) we saw the Login 3 tablet on a chipset from Qualcomm, which was quite good in its technical characteristics for a cost of ~3000 rubles. (now, due to the economic situation, its price has soared to almost 6,000 rubles), the victorious march of Login+ across all advertising billboards in the country - a worthy continuation of the Login line in the form of a smartphone was quite expected. However, a miracle did not happen...

The Megafon Login 3 smartphone, even for a budget model, turned out to be very mediocre and in many ways resembles its predecessor Login 2, from appearance to technical characteristics.

The photo shows Megafon Login 3 (left) and Megafon Login 2 (right).

Brief technical specifications of Megafon Login 3

  • The capacity of the built-in battery is 1200 mAh.
  • Manufacturer: Huizhou Debang Industrial, Co, Ltd.
  • Availability of SimLock (by default, the device only works with SIM cards from the Megafon operator)

The price of the smartphone at the time of writing this article is 2490 rub., plus, in order to purchase a smartphone at this price, you need to additionally purchase a package of communication services, in the form of an Internet tariff, or a tariff plan from the “All inclusive” line (I don’t give the cost here, because it depends on the region of connection, You can read more about the package offer on the operator’s official website).

The Megafon Login 3 kit includes a charger, an instruction manual, and the phone itself. No “frills” like headphones, etc. not provided:

The smartphone supports 2G (GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 / GSM 850 / GSM 900) and 3G (UMTS 2100 / UMTS 900) communication standards and is built on a dual-core chip from MediaTek - MediaTek MT6572M (clock frequency 1 Ghz). The video subsystem here is Mali-400 MP. The amount of RAM is 512 Mb, internal memory is 4 Gb, of which approximately 2 Gb is available for storing user data. Display - TFT, 3.5" with a maximum resolution of 320x480 pixels. Resolution of the main camera - 2 Mpix. WiFi, GPS and FM radio are supported, while a wired headset is used as an antenna. The only advantage, perhaps, if you can call it that, is the modern OS Android 4.4.2.

The set of pre-installed applications is quite standard, with the possible exception of free Internet Security by Kaspersky Lab. All pre-installed applications are visible in the following screenshot:

The performance of the smartphone in the same AnTuTu is predictable, ~10,000 “parrots”:

Here are tests of a single 2 Mpix camera, GPS, etc. - probably doesn’t make sense, because... In terms of camera, everyone probably knows what 2 MPix is. Using GPS on this phone is a little inconvenient due to small sizes screen sizes and matrix quality. If you hang your phone on a car mount Windshield, then I, for example, see little there, because... firstly, everything is very small, secondly, when the viewing angle changes, the image significantly loses brightness / contrast, or even color inversion occurs, and thirdly, the positioning accuracy, in comparison even with the same Megafon Login 3 tablet , limps a little.

As a summary: An event happened that everyone had been waiting for for so long - finally the “mythical” Megaphone Login 3 appeared on sale. “Mythical” - because there were a lot of rumors about what kind of device it could be on the Internet. Someone hoped that LTE support would appear in Login 3 and that the smartphone would be a worthy replacement for the archived Megafon 4G Turbo model, someone was just waiting quality smartphone with a large screen, similar to MTS Smart Run for example (which for some reason users recognized as the best operator smartphone of 2014 - according to the results, by the way, in the category “Best operator smartphone” - Smart Run - 1st place, Megafon Optima - 2nd place and Beeline Smart 3 - 3- f)… But neither of these things happened. Under the proud name Megafon Login 3, the operator presented us with virtually the same 3.5" Login 2, only “slightly different”. I would say the same... however, I won’t. The profile is already clear. In total, we got a 3.5" smart , with Android 4.4.2, dual-core MediaTek MT6572M (1 GHz), 512 Mb RAM and 2 Mpix main camera at a price of 2490 rubles. This is in 2015, the year when for all operators, including Megafon, you can find a 4" smartphone for the same price - and not locked to the operator. You don’t have to look far for examples, on the same Megafon website - ZTE V815, the same 2490, but 4" and no simlock.

For a smartphone with similar characteristics, which is also “locked” to an operator, the price is clearly too high. If we compare it with branded models from other manufacturers, then an adequate price for a device with similar characteristics can be seen from MTS in the MTS 970 model. The price stated on the official website is 890 rubles. (It’s really worth noting that this smartphone has already been discontinued and it’s impossible to buy it new at this price). If Megafon changed the terms of purchase of Megafon Login 3, for example, the same 2490 rubles. of which 1000 rub. the phone itself, and 1490 rubles. on account - then the proposal would be interesting. In the current version, under the same conditions, I would simply buy a ZTE V815 or any other 4" model.

Ultra-budget device with IPS matrix and phone functions

In order to reach new audiences with the expectation of long-term relationships, operators cellular communications are ready to sell her mobile devices at very attractive prices. Not only expensive gadgets, such as Apple iPhone, but sometimes even the most budget models, the price of which can be reduced almost to a ridiculous level. These include the Megafon Login 3 tablet, produced by the Chinese company Foxda Technology Industrial, which is actively promoted by the Megafon operator. Now it can be purchased for only 1990 rubles, provided that you immediately pay another 700 rubles for connecting the “ ” option (this fee is enough for two months of the service).

Taking into account the very low price, acceptable characteristics of the tablet and 12 months of official warranty, we could not ignore Megafon Login 3.

The weak point of Megafon Login 3 is the amount of permanent memory. However, it can be increased by microSD cards. The resolution is also somewhat below the usual level (you should never focus on Samsung here). But all the shortcomings are more than offset by the price.

Contents of delivery

In the box with the tablet, in addition to the instructions, there was only a short Micro-USB cable and network adapter(5 V, 1.5 A).

The equipment is minimal, which is to be expected.

Design

Megafon Login 3 to yours appearance evokes associations with the “ultra-budget” Ritmix RMD-758. Although the design differences between the two tablets are significant, general principles are easy to guess. Large fields, economical rough plastic as the main material, stamped metal plate to stand out.

Wide frames on all sides make the tablet convenient to use in any orientation.

Above the display we see a slot for the earpiece and a camera lens, and between them there is an LED indicator. While charging, it lights up red, and, unfortunately, does not inform you about missed calls.

Most of the rear panel is occupied by a metal insert with longitudinal embossing. It is inscribed in a monolithic plastic part. This arrangement of parts is a compromise between the “sandwich” option (rear panel + rib + front panel) and the classic unibody case, in which two panels are adjacent to each other without intermediaries. This approach allows you to achieve a balance between reliability and low cost design.

The upper part of the plastic insert contains most of the interface elements. In the corner is the rear camera lens. On the other side, there are spring-loaded slots for Mini-SIM and microSD cards hidden by a plug. The set of connectors is minimal: Micro-USB and headphone output; there was also a place for a forced reboot hole.

The rear speaker fits neatly into the protruding part of the metal panel. Its maximum volume is low. In addition, it is noticeably muffled when the tablet is lying on the table. Based on the sound quality, it is only suitable for speech transmission; in more demanding scenarios, distortion occurs at high volumes.

The mechanical buttons on the left side cannot be called comfortable, because they require significant force to press and at the same time have a narrow shape. And their operation is accompanied by a loud click. There is also a microphone hole on this side. It can be assumed that talking on a tablet while holding it in your left hand will be uncomfortable. But during testing we made sure that this does not affect the quality of communication.

Megafon Login 3 is assembled with high quality: there are no widened slots between the parts, the plug fits tightly and does not begin to play after several uses. When you try to bend the tablet, you hear a quiet creak, but you can ignore it. The only disappointment, perhaps, were the mechanical buttons.

Screen

The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface that is scratch-resistant. Judging by the brightness of reflected objects, The anti-glare properties of the screen are worse than those of Google Nexus 7 (2013) (hereinafter simply Nexus 7). For clarity, here is a photo in which the white surface is reflected in the switched off screens of both tablets (Megafon Login 3 is on the right, then they can be distinguished by the presence of non-removable button icons on this tablet):

The screen of Megafon Login 3 is noticeably lighter. The reflection in the screen triples, which suggests the presence of an air gap between the surface of the matrix and the outer glass. On the outer surface of the screen There may be a special oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating, but its effectiveness is extremely low, so the finger glides across the screen poorly, fingerprints are difficult to remove, but appear instantly.

When manually controlling the brightness, its maximum value was about 280 cd/m², and the minimum - 43 cd/m². The maximum brightness is low, and given the weak anti-glare properties, the image on the screen will be indistinguishable in bright daylight. In complete darkness, the brightness can be reduced to a comfortable level. Automatic adjustment There is no brightness from the light sensor. At any brightness level, there is no significant backlight modulation, so there is no screen flicker.

IN this tablet used IPS type matrix. The microphotographs show a typical IPS subpixel structure:

For comparison, you can see the gallery of microphotographs of screens used in mobile technology.

The screen has good viewing angles without a significant color shift even with large deviations of the gaze from perpendicular to the screen and without inversion (except for the very, very dark ones when the gaze is deviated downward when portrait orientation) shades. For comparison, here are photographs in which the same images are displayed on the screens of the Nexus 7 and the tested tablet, while the brightness of both screens is set to approximately 200 cd/m², and the color balance on the camera is forcibly switched to 6500 K. Test picture perpendicular to the screens:

The color balance is noticeably different and the colors on Megafon Login 3 are slightly less saturated. And a white field:

Visually, you can see that the brightness and color tone on the Megafon Login 3 screen are slightly uneven over the area. Now at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the plane and to the side of the screen:

It can be seen that the colors and brightness balance did not change much on both tablets, but on Megafon Login 3 the contrast decreased to a greater extent due to brightening of blacks and a strong decrease in image brightness. There are also signs of inversion of the darkest shades. Then the white field:

The brightness at an angle for both tablets has noticeably decreased (at least 5 times, based on the difference in shutter speed), but in the case of Megafon Login 3, the screen brightness at this angle is noticeably lower. When deviated diagonally, the black field brightens greatly and acquires a yellowish or red-violet tint. A photo from the Nexus 7 shows this for comparison (the brightness of the white areas in the perpendicular direction is approximately the same for both tablets):

And from another angle:

When viewed perpendicularly, black uniformity is average:

Contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) is high - 1100:1 . The response time for the black-white-black transition is 26 ms (14 ms on + 12 ms off). The transition between halftones of gray 25% and 75% (according to the numerical value of the color) and back takes a total of 40 ms. The gamma curve, constructed using 32 points with equal intervals based on the numerical value of the shade of gray, did not reveal any blockage in either the highlights or the shadows. The index of the approximating power function is 2.54, which is higher than the standard value of 2.2 (that is, the picture is slightly darkened), while the real gamma curve significantly deviates from the power dependence:

Color gamut narrower than sRGB:

Apparently, the matrix’s light filters mix the components with each other. The spectra confirm this:

This technique allows you to increase the brightness of the screen with the same energy consumption for backlighting. As a result, the colors of images - drawings, photographs and films - oriented to the sRGB space (and these are the vast majority) have slightly reduced saturation. The balance of shades on the gray scale is a compromise, since the color temperature is significantly higher than the standard 6500 K, but the deviation from the blackbody spectrum (ΔE) is less than 10, which is considered a good indicator for a consumer device. At the same time, the variation color temperature and ΔE is small, which has a positive effect on the visual perception of color balance. Dark areas of the gray scale can be ignored, since color balance there is not very important, and the error in measuring color characteristics at low brightness is large.

Let's summarize. Maximum brightness of this screen low, anti-glare properties are weak, as a result, on a clear day outside, the screen will become unreadable. No automatic brightness adjustment, so the user will have to adjust it manually (if at all necessary in this case). The advantages include no screen flickering, high contrast and - upon visual assessment - good color balance. The disadvantages are the following: low black stability to deviation of gaze from perpendicular to the surface of the screen, average black field uniformity, decreased color gamut . Economical screen option on an IPS matrix.

operating system

Megafon Login 3 runs on the latest version of Android, 4.4.4. The manufacturer only expanded the basic set of software; no significant changes were made to the OS interface.

Almost all additional services are directly related to Megafon. Among them we note cloud storage MegaDisk, which provides 2 GB of free space for free. Traffic mobile internet Megafon is not taken into account when working with it. In addition, Login 3 comes pre-installed mobile version Kaspersky antivirus

From 4 GB internal memory Less than half of the tablet is available to the user, only 1.84 GB. Megafon Login 3 takes a long time to turn on, almost a whole minute. The operating system does not work perfectly: sometimes there is no response to touch, sometimes the animation freezes, and the Play Store often slows down. But in general, this does not create serious interference.

Platform and performance

Megafon Login 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 single-chip system, model MSM8210 (the same as in the recently tested Nokia X2 smartphone).

Let's start evaluating performance with JavaScript tests.

In terms of processor performance, the MSM8210 is only slightly inferior to the MT8389; the benefit from the latter's two extra cores is practically negligible.

But the difference in the number of cores makes itself felt in complex benchmarks. In addition, Login 3 is seriously inferior to RMD-758 in the RAM multitasking test. According to the results of this group of tests, our hero is approximately equal to the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.

MobileXPRT's second rating, based on OS GUI tests, matches our impressions of Android work. Normal, but nothing more. Let's move on to gaming benchmarks.

Due to the resolution, Megafon again outperforms Ritmix. The only exception was Epic Citadel in High Quality mode, where the benchmark did not want to overcome the bar of fifty frames per second.

It’s difficult to navigate Basemark X and Bonsai Benchmark; the results are completely different.

GFXBenchmark Manhattan HD (Offscreen)1.3 fps- - -
GFXBenchmark Manhattan HD (Onscreen)4.5 fps- - -

A remarkable fact: in the most demanding Manhattan HD scene on OpenGL ES 3.0, our hero demonstrated the same result as competitor Ritmix in the less demanding T-Rex HD on OpenGL ES 2.0. Part of this can be attributed to the difference in resolution, but it seems that even under identical conditions the Snapdragon 200 would still be a little faster.

But even this small potential of a single-chip system makes it difficult to unlock the amount of internal memory. When we were planning to install real games, we removed almost everything from it, with the exception of a couple of small applications, and still the first game on the list, Asphalt 8, refused to install. In everyday use, when free memory will be even smaller, you will have to be content with only modest-sized toys. Dead Trigger 2 from our test set fits well into their number, which sometimes slows down on Megafon Login 3.

Video playback test

To test the output of video files on the screen of the device itself, we used a set of test files with an arrow and a rectangle moving one division per frame (see “Method for testing video playback and display devices. Version 1 (for mobile devices)”). Screenshots with a shutter speed of 1 s helped determine the nature of the output of frames of video files with various parameters: the resolution varied (1280 × 720 (720p) and 1920 × 1080 (1080p) pixels) and frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 frames/ With). In the tests, we used the MX Player video player in the “Hardware+” mode. The test results are summarized in the table:

FileUniformityPasses

Note: If in both columns Uniformity And Passes Green ratings are given, this means that, most likely, when watching films, artifacts caused by uneven alternation and frame skipping will either not be visible at all, or their number and visibility will not affect the viewing comfort. Red marks indicate possible problems related to the playback of the corresponding files.

The intervals between frames (or groups of frames) alternate slightly unevenly in most cases, 50 and 60 fps files play back with dropped frames, and 1080p files at 60 fps do not play back at all. When playing video files with a resolution of 720p or 1080p and an aspect ratio of 16:9, the image of the actual video file is displayed exactly along the wide border of the screen. The brightness range displayed on the screen corresponds to standard range 16-235 - all gradations of shades are displayed in shadows and highlights.

The tablet's standard player is not at all capable of opening MKV videos with H.264, but it can easily decode AC3 tracks. It’s good that MX Player has a “Hardware+” decoder available, which solves all problems (when using a software decoder there are three latest file on the list are very slow).

Wireless network support

Megafon Login 3 supports Internet access via single-band Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. In addition, the tablet implements the wide communication capabilities of a single-chip system. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC includes a Qualcomm Gobi 3G modem, and thanks to this, you can make calls using the tablet. The quality of communication during a conversation is not bad, the interlocutor can be heard clearly and without distortion, although additional volume would not hurt the speaker. There are no problems with voice perception on the part of the interlocutor.

Megafon Login 3, as you would expect, only works with Megafon SIM cards. There is no information yet about the possibility of unlocking; enthusiasts continue to search for an effective method.

The navigation capabilities of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, implemented using Qualcomm Izat technology, have already been praised by us in our Nokia X2 review. Megafon Login 3 determines its location in less than a minute after turning on GPS and quite quickly establishes communication with many GPS, Glonass and Beidou satellites.

Completes the set of supported communication standards Bluetooth 4.0. Connecting external drives via USB OTG is not supported, and this is one of the few disadvantages of the single-chip system.

Cameras

Megafon Login 3 is equipped with two cameras - front (0.3 MP) and rear. The maximum resolution of her images is 2048×1536 (3.2 megapixels). The photos are unclear, it is immediately clear that the camera is installed “for show”.

The text captured by the camera can only be read if you photograph it in small pieces, since the camera does not have autofocus and its resolution is low.

The tablet is also capable of shooting 720p video (MPEG-4 (Base Media), 11.6 Mbps, 1280x720, 14,283 fps; audio: AAC (LC), 96 Kbps, 48 kHz, 2 channels), but low bitrate and frame rate call into question its practical use.

Autonomous operation

The battery capacity of Megafon Login 3 is 3500 mAh - the same as that of Ritmix RMD-758. The charge is not consumed very smoothly, but you can navigate according to the schedule with some error.

We were unable to test the duration of operation in game mode, because some time after launching Guided Tour in Epic Citadel, the tablet itself rebooted.

The Snapdragon 200 platform is characterized by a more balanced battery consumption: the gap between reading and video modes is smaller here than in other SoCs. There is speculation that Snapdragon would beat almost all competitors in gaming mode, but due to problems with the Epic Citadel, we did not know this. In general, for a budget tablet, the last mode in the table is the most relevant, and here Megafon, together with Ainol, is an outsider.

Charging the tablet from the standard adapter takes approximately three and a half hours. The tablet charges from the computer without problems.

conclusions

We recently wrote about another “best” offer from another mobile operator. Of course, Megafon with the new Login 3 looks more interesting. This tablet has 3G, phone functions are implemented, and although not the best, it is still an IPS matrix. As a result, Megafon Login 3 does not fail in any test point and stably maintains its budget position. Thanks to its excellent navigation performance and wide communication capabilities, Megafon Login 3 can be recommended as a car navigator. Especially if in the first two months after purchase you plan to actively travel around Russia.
