This week I came across a website for the first time, the page of which crashed my browser. This trouble happened to everyone’s favorite Fox (Mozilla). The latest version update is from the developer's website. So everything is fine with the program itself.

The scroll wheel does not work, mouse commands do not execute or there is a long delay. I opened the Task Manager and see a constant CPU load of 100%. I tried to open this blog page in other browsers: Yandex browser, Google Chrome, FlashPeak Slimjet. The same picture, the processor load is full.

I can’t change the processor to another one, and why should I? Before this site everything worked fine, the load was no more than 10%. And in tablets and smartphones there is no more powerful than my single-core Celeron 2.8 GHz.

At first I thought it was some kind of virus. But this suspicion disappeared when I opened version 12.17 in Opera - the one on the old Presto engine. The load dropped to 30-50% and it was possible to read and navigate through pages.

The solution to the problem from the user's side is simple. I turned on the application I installed for Fox called NoScript.

You need to open the Extensions tab. (step1) Select the installed Firefox add-on. (step2) Click the Enable button. If you do not have such an extension installed, then you need to go to the developer’s website and download it.

Additional protection for Firefox: NoScript allows you to allow JavaScript, Java (and other plugins) only for trusted domains you select (eg: banking site). White list, based on the principle of proactive blocking, allows you to prevent the exploitation of vulnerabilities (known and not yet known!) without loss of functionality... Experts agree: Firefox is indeed safer with NoScript

After restarting the browser, go to the same page. Everything works as usual, the processor does not choke. Navigation and mouse listen to the user.
The solution for the site administrator is different. You need to find the problematic JavaScript and rewrite it yourself if you know programming languages. Or look for a programmer who works with scripts.

Why does the browser load the processor?

Has it ever happened to you that your laptop fan just started howling, spewing out a stream of hot air? After looking at the task manager, you saw that the browser was loading the processor, for example, GOOGLE CHROME. What to do in this case?

It is very easy to find out, this short note is about it. Although the secret is simple, very few people know about it. So, what should you do if your browser is using up your CPU?

How to view browser processes?

On the top panel of the browser, in a place free from bookmarks, point the cursor and click right button mice, calling context menu. So we see the following points:

Select task manager and open it. There we see all the processes that occur in the browser. We sort the column called CPU (processor) and see what loads the processor the most:

As you can see, the browser that loads the most is the tab in which the article about purchasing on Aliexpress is open, as much as 9%, and then 9% of the plugin that shows flash animation on the site.

Most likely, some kind of banner is running on the site, which is loading the processor. We close this tab if we don’t need it and the fan stops singing its sad song.

To get rid of such problems with banners loading the browser in the future, you can install the FlashBlock extension, which will block all this animation.

Here is such a simple tip, I hope it will be useful to you. I haven’t checked other browsers, since I only use this one, you can look for a similar function in your browser, and if you don’t find it, then go to Google Chrome ;)

There is already one comment ;)

What to do if firefox uses a lot of CPU

Every program, every application installed on your computer, one way or another, loads the processor. Accordingly, it is very important to monitor how resource-intensive programs you run, especially if your computer’s processor is old or weak.

A web browser is undoubtedly a basic program that is available on any computer, because without it it is impossible to access the Internet. It is moderately “gluttonous” and under normal conditions the browser, in particular Firefox, does not load the processor too much. But what should you do if, when you launch your browser, you suddenly begin to notice severe system freezes and slowdowns? Perhaps a virus got inside your computer or a plugin crashed.

What to do

So, in in good condition The web browser should not load the processor more than 10%. Open the “Task Manager” by simultaneously pressing the ++ keys, and find “firefox.exe” in the list of processes. If there really is a problem, then you may see the scary message “firefox is loading the processor at 100%”, and of course, something needs to be done about it!

To correct the situation, do the following:

Perhaps it's a Java script issue. In one of the previous materials, I already talked about how to disable JavaScript, namely: go to the “Settings” of the browser, then to “Tools” and uncheck the box next to the “Enable JavaScript” line. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that after disconnection, some sites may not work correctly, and you should only resort to this method if absolutely necessary.

Plugin-container

  • open your browser and address bar write “about:config” without quotes;
  • in the “Filter” field, write “dom.ipc...” as shown in the screenshot, after which the necessary variables will be filtered automatically. Now change their value to “false”, the end result should look like, again, in the screenshot. Restart your computer.

I hope that these simple tips will help you cope with the problem, and your favorite browser will not consume more than 10%, conditionally allotted for its normal functioning.

The Yandex browser is loading the system. When started, it consumes all RAM - 2GB and 100% of the processor. It can only be closed through the dispatcher. In a couple of minutes. RAM is being unloaded. I would have killed him, but in 3 months I had collected a lot of bookmarks, it would be a shame to lose them. Because of this hangup, I can’t export bookmarks to another browser. Where does he store them and how can I get them out, for example, in Chrome?
Here is the location of his ambush: "C:\Documents and Settings\Alexey\Local Settings\Application Data\Yandex\YandexBrowser\Application\browser.exe"
This hanging bastard greatly slows down the work! I had to go back to Chrome.

Guys, everything is much simpler. The fact is that when you open several tabs, one or 2 of them load the CPU. The solution is quite simple, press win+esc or run the “browser task manager” (Menu - Additional tools - Task Manager (Chrome). Menu - Advanced - Additional tools - Task Manager (Yandex.Browser), etc.) and find those tabs which load the CPU and delete them from the task manager, the problem will go away as if by hand,

quantity open tabs does not affect. I have one open with the series and the percentage is loaded at 100%.

Remove the problematic browser and use a normal one. Initially and to this day, for example, I use Opera (the original), which was recently released a new version 12.18, no matter how many times I tried to switch to another browser, nothing worked due to its complete rejection. Now about bookmarks. There is a rule, regularly periodically create copies of bookmarks, export them to various formats. You can simply extract the necessary links from the saved copies. You can also import saved copies into various browsers. Those who follow these rules do not have any problems with losing bookmarks.

I was loading one of the add-ons (add-ons). Found by turning off one by one. It turned out to be Lingualeo.

My browser conflicts either with the antivirus program... Or with the system itself... It overloads the system and freezes itself... And this is just such a problem with it... The same Google works quickly and easily.

My Yandex browser loads the processor by 20% every time after the first launch (i.e. after turning on the computer). But if you close it and open it again, the CPU load drops to 2%. I have no idea how to deal with this.

Dmitriy | 20 April 2013, 14:01
Yandex browser is an unsuccessful copy of Google Chrome. Install Google Chrome and don't worry.

Alex | February 18, 2013, 10:09
1."It's not the browser, it's the quantity open windows." The number of open windows is ZERO, but it hangs at startup and does not allow anything else to be opened.
2. “You put the browser launch file in the wrong folder on your hard drive. Move it to “Program Files”. The path to the browser is very long, which is why the computer is slowing down.” I didn’t slow down for THREE months, and then the journey became long.
3. “Well, don’t be lazy. Open a bookmark...” DOES NOT OPEN.

Oleg | 16 February 2013, 05:36
Well, don't be lazy. You open the bookmark, copy the address, paste it into notepad. Then in Chrome you paste the link from notepad and save. For a long time, of course. But guaranteed. Or try the program http://www.hekasoft.it/backup-restore.php

Igor | February 15, 2013, 11:11 pm
You placed the browser launch file in the wrong folder on your hard drive. Move to "Program Files". The path to the browser is very long, which is why the computer slows down.

A large number of people often encounter a problem when the processor starts to heat up, and not just heat up, but actually overheat, overclocking itself to 100%. If you dig a little deeper, it turns out that the problem is in the browser. At the same time, it does not matter at all which browser is installed (Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla, Yandex), anyone can load the PC. What to do in such situations and how to resolve the error?

We are looking for the reason for the high load

There may be several reasons for this action. However, from the most banal to various extraordinary ones, which simply cannot be eliminated in 5 minutes. At the same time, it is very important to take into account the power of the computer.

Here are the main reasons:

  • Too many windows (tabs) open;
  • A large number of active processes. It happens that you close the game, but the process continues to work;
  • Outdated version of the program;
  • Banal viruses;
  • Addons, extensions, plugins. They can load the processor and prevent it from functioning normally. Especially if they were not launched from licensed portals.

Remember the addresses of official stores. Mozilla has it addons.mozilla.org, for Chrome - chrome.google.com/webstore, for Opera - addons.opera.com. With Yandex, everything is much simpler, since their store is synchronized with all current browser platforms and add-ons can be downloaded from there.

Perhaps the reasons are not entirely in the browser:

  • Driver conflict. If you don't have Windows 10, you have to install drivers manually. Perhaps you installed outdated “firewood” or incompatible with this OS;
  • Svchost.exe can also negatively affect the CPU. More precisely, its viral analogue. Various viruses are often disguised as this file, and it is quite difficult to distinguish the real, necessary svchost. But probably;
  • Normal dust, dirt, hot room, broken fan, etc.

Removing the processor load by 100%

Check how Windows works for you without launching a web browser. If everything is in order, then the problem is definitely in the Internet Explorer. To reduce the load on the processor caused by the browser, the first thing you need to do is:

In the case of Chrome, go to “Settings” - “Advanced” - below it will be “Reset settings and remove malware”. Scan the program.

Current methods

General Windows check

  • Launch " Command line"(Win+R - write cmd) on behalf of the administrator. We write in the window sfc/scannow and wait for the process to complete. The option allows you to find and restore “broken” files;
  • If you have Windows 7, download Microsoft Fix it. Use it to reset the network;
  • Run cmd through the steps described above, write - netsh int ip reset logfile.txt. Restart your PC.

Results

All of the above methods will not help remove 100% of the CPU load caused by browsers - you will need to reinstall them. Moreover, after uninstalling, use cleaning via CCleaner, and then install again. Keep in mind that your OS must have current KB updates, but the service itself must be disabled.

In this material we will talk about what to do if Yandex.Browser loads the processor at 100 percent. This happens quite often. And there are many reasons for this. We will try to consider everything possible options solving the problem.

Let's start with the fact that modern websites are quite heavy. A resource with a bunch of additional content can easily load the processor even up to 80% when opened. Of course, browsers have their own optimization mechanisms, but they don’t always cope.

And yet, if the processor loads 100 percent, then this is a cause for concern. A normally working browser should not behave this way. This means there is some kind of problem.

With a high degree of probability, we can say that this is the typical work of viruses. And some sites may well use the user’s computer to mine cryptocurrency. Which is also not very good. However, let's talk about options for solving the problem.

Trying to delete temporary files

Often this behavior of a web browser is due to the fact that it simply does not have enough space to work. If system disk clogged with all sorts of garbage, then not a single program will work normally. Therefore, you need to delete temporary files and clean the disk of debris.

Doing this manually takes a very long time. Therefore, it is better to use the built-in function. It is called as follows:

After cleaning, you can try to launch Yandex Browser again. If everything is exactly the same, then you should move on to the next stage. It will be discussed in detail in the next chapter. And for the purpose of prevention, it is better to follow all the recommendations from this material.

Cleaning the system from viruses

Malicious objects may well masquerade as browser processes and overload the processor. That's not news. Therefore, it is better to check the OS for viruses and try to remove them. Perhaps then the problem can be solved.

It is best to use ESET Smart Security for these purposes. This product combines the functionality of an antivirus and a firewall, which is quite good. You can download the program from the official website of the developer.

After this the procedure will begin. It can take quite a long time, since the entire computer is scanned. During scanning, all malicious objects will be found and removed automatically.

Enable system updates

If the service automatic update The OS was disabled, then such Windows behavior is quite possible. And the browser has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's just that outdated OS files conflict with the updated web browser.

Therefore you need to enable updates operating system. And she herself will find new files and install them. Perhaps you didn't turn it off yourself this service, but simply downloaded this assembly of the system. In any case, here's what you need to do.

A few minutes after this, the system will begin searching for and downloading updates. After all updates have been installed, you will need to restart your computer. And only then will it be possible to launch Yandex.Browser to check.

Disabling extensions

No matter how strange it may sound, some extensions can also provoke this behavior in the web browser. Especially when you consider that Yandex Browser uses add-ons that are written for other browsers.

Therefore, you can try disabling all browser plugins. This should reduce the load not only on the processor, but also on RAM. So let's get into it right now. Here detailed instructions on this occasion.

After the restart you need to start the dispatcher Windows tasks and see how much the processor load has changed. If it really decreased significantly, then it was precisely because of extensions that are not suitable for this web browser.

Conclusion

Let's summarize. Now you know what to do if Yandex Browser loads the processor 100 percent. Most often, this is the work of viruses. But other options cannot be ruled out. There can be many reasons for this web browser behavior.

In any case, the best results can only be achieved by following all the recommendations presented in this material. In any case, you need to try all the methods. One of them will definitely help solve the problem.
