Several years ago, a terrible maniac was at work in London. He specialized in piercing, with particular cynicism, the wheels of cars in parking lots. At the same time, the maniac left a note under the windshield wiper with approximately the following content: “You were noticed at 11:30 talking on a mobile phone while driving.” More than 60 wheels suffered at the hands of this bloodthirsty psycho. What causes such hatred for drivers talking on the phone can only be guessed at, but the fact that those gentlemen who were forced to fork out for a new set of tires will never drive and talk at the same time again in their lives for some reason sounds convincing.

The photo shows the principle of operation of the speakerphone through the radio.

Or talk or control

We don’t monitor drivers’ behavior so jealously, although they can sometimes scold them. It is not known what this loyalty is associated with, but it would not hurt for some minibus drivers to explain more clearly that drinking coffee, talking on the phone and giving change, while changing to the left lane, is not entirely prudent. In the same England, researchers found that during a conversation, the driver’s reaction speed, the ability to assess a changed situation, make a decision and perform a maneuver, is halved. With simple calculations, it can be established that at a speed of 60 km/h the reaction delay time transforms into 9 meters of travel. What or who may be in front of the car at this moment depends only on providence.

The Austrians went even further. The VCO Studio car enthusiasts club conducted research and found that a driver talking on the phone reacts to the road situation much worse than a driver who drank 150 g of vodka or cognac. This is if we talk about conversation only. But there is also SMS, data and number recognition incoming call, set, switch. And what can happen in a critical situation if the driver is simultaneously having an emotional conversation, changing lanes in a busy traffic or driving through a difficult intersection, driving high speed… This is the reason to buy a speakerphone or hands-free device for use while driving.

Headset - cheap and quiet

The simplest method to free the driver's hands is the most inexpensive wired hands-free mono headset. You can either buy it separately or use the standard one, which most likely comes with the phone. Convenient, simple and cheap option. For two hundred rubles you can find a headset for almost any phone, free your hands, and get additional functions from your phone. The main disadvantage of such systems is the wires. More precisely, a wire, because a mono headset is the only acceptable option while driving. The earphone may fall out, the wire may interfere with controls, cling to handles and levers, in short, there are more problems than solutions.

A wireless headset looks much more profitable. Bluetooth technology has already penetrated into every phone and today there is hardly even the most simple model, which does not support the Bluetooth protocol. There are many more advantages to a wireless headset than disadvantages. But they exist. There are inconsistencies in protocol standards between different companies, and since it is fashionable to change phones, the headset also has to be changed. But the functions of this connection method are almost in no way inferior to direct communication with the phone. Here, voice dialing, and the device pronouncing the name of the caller, reset, answer - everything can be configured so that your hands do not take part in operating the phone. The price of such headsets ranges from 1000 to 6000 rubles. There are models with several microphones, the most ergonomic, inconspicuous, stylish, bright, with logos of iPhones and other Nokias. The bad thing about such devices is that you can’t really listen to music in the car, and extraneous noise quite a lot during conversation, besides such wireless headset takes away some of the attention from perception audio information from the road. You may simply not hear the signals of other road users or the alarming knocks and squeaks in your car.

Speakerphone into the car via radio

Wireless headsets cannot yet be called exclusively a car accessory. They do not provide complete freedom from the phone and take away some of the audio information, not to mention the fact that listening to music is simply uncomfortable - you need to constantly reduce the volume, which distracts attention even more. The situation is completely different with hands-free kits intended for use exclusively in the car. Speakerphone can be implemented either fully integrated into the head radio, using the entire audio system of the car, or as a stand-alone loudspeaking device. It all depends on how modern the head unit is and how much it supports the functions of new phones.

There can be a twofold attitude towards such devices: yes, your hands are free, but if you need to make a confidential call from inside the car without being heard by passengers, you will still have to use your hands. That is, take out the phone and turn off the speakerphone system. In addition, as a physical object, like an extra device in a car, the device can arouse unhealthy interest among burglars. What it looks like is not entirely clear, but such devices look very attractive and expensive. Therefore, you have to either hide them in the glove compartment or carry them with you, which somehow does not fit with the principle of reasonable mobility.

Although there are very worthy devices in this category. There are quite a lot of them and almost all of them are of the same type. An autonomous speakerphone is a Bluetooth device that immediately picks up the owner’s phone and is ready to completely duplicate it. Technologically, the latest models are simply brilliant. Even the simplest ones, like Jabra Drive, Jabra Freeway can surprise you with the quality of sound reproduction. Reviews say that the quality of both the received and transmitted signals is better and richer than in conventional BT headsets. The Jabras have two microphones with a noise reduction system; they support the voice control function, but, frankly speaking, such control is of little use, since not all such devices support the Russian language.

Some models, such as Parrot Minikit HD Black, BlueAnt Supertooth Light, Plantronics K100, have an FM transmitter function. This thing allows you to connect the speakerphone device with the head radio using the FM protocol if the quality or volume of the signal from the built-in speakers is insufficient. The decision is quite controversial, however, not every radio has an AUX or USB input for playing music from external device, and according to the radio protocol all this is solved in no time. The quality of the audio signal will not be entirely high-end, but the processing of speech received from the microphone and output to the speakers is beyond praise.

Video: Speakerphone in a car

In addition, such devices have a significant supply of energy, and they can be recharged either from a cigarette lighter, through an adapter from a household network, or from a computer, tablet or laptop via a USB port. Many models have the ability to install a control button on the steering wheel, then you don’t even have to reach for them in order to adjust or change settings. The price of these systems rarely exceeds 6 thousand rubles, they are easy to install, can be installed and configured with your own hands in two minutes and can be used for a telephone outside the car if the owner is driving, for example, a multi-machine mechanic or his hands are busy at work for some reason. - other valid reasons.

It’s still worth thinking about installing such hands-free systems, especially for those who spend a lot of time driving and simply have to talk on the phone. By the way, they say that that London maniac moved from the city in an unknown direction...

You cannot talk on the phone; it is prohibited by law. To be honest, I support the initiative, because it’s enough to be distracted for a few minutes and that’s it - you can cause an accident or run over someone! But what if you are a busy person and you always need to be in touch? The thing that will save us with peace of mind is the speakerphone, sometimes it’s already integrated into our cars, but sometimes it’s not and we need to take care of it ourselves...

Today, in a small but useful article, I will try to tell and show various methods for “loud” communication in a car without hands. Moreover, you don’t always need to buy expensive devices, because you just need to think about it.

Bluetooth

Trite - but worth noting. Probably, now almost all cars are equipped with this system; you just need to connect your phone and radio and you can communicate through the built-in speakers and microphones.

A very convenient thing, it automatically connects to the phone and also disconnects. Control is often on the steering wheel. I have already described this system -. For those who don't want to read then just a video.

Portable speakerphone for the car

Nowadays, devices are often sold that can be mounted anywhere, even on a panel, even on sun visors.

It's essentially an imitation Bluetooth connections with a radio - also communicates with your phone and plays sound through the speakers built into it, and perception comes through the built-in microphone. Such devices are small, similar in size to a radar detector, some have a built-in battery and can operate on battery power for quite a long time.

Speakerphone via your smartphone

Guys, almost every smartphone has a speakerphone function. You can mount the device on the dashboard in a special mount, or on a sticky mat and communicate that way. But this is not always convenient, because you will need to pick up and hang up the phone, switch the speaker manually, and this again distracts you from the road. Therefore, I suggest looking towards applications, of which there are simply a lot now.

To do this we go to google play and type into the search for “speakerphone in the car” and just a bunch will come up various programs. I put one of them on my smartphone, small photos.

You can also watch a video of how it works.

I’ll end with this, I think my article was useful to you. Read our AUTOBLOG.

In addition to the fact that traffic rules prohibit talking on the phone while driving, installing a speakerphone in the car for the phone is justified from the point of view of the personal safety of the driver and passengers.
A mobile phone is a great convenience, but when you are driving and someone is “burdening” you with their problems, and one hand is occupied, then there can be no question of full control of the road situation. In addition, you are physically limited in terms of operating the machine - with one hand, if necessary, it is impossible to perform several operations simultaneously.
Manufacturers of communication accessories took the first step towards freeing up the hands of the driver (and others) by inventing the Hands free ear headset. It connects to your phone and is easy to use. However, public address systems in cars, initially installed only on premium cars on the production line, are much more convenient and functional.
The car accessories market now offers several options for such equipment, the installation of which does not require any special technical knowledge. There are many options - from the simplest and cheapest to the most expensive, but with a wide range of functions.

Jabra Freeway speakerphone

This is a stand-alone device with a built-in speaker and phone control buttons. Using this device, it is very easy to provide your car with hands-free communication via Bluetooth. As long as your phone and Jabra are compatible, of course.
The photo shows the Jabra Freeway wireless speakerphone, which is the most “advanced” (and more expensive) model, since it can be controlled by voice. Capable of servicing two phones at once.
The device is charged via a USB cable connected to the radio or an external source. The main advantage of this particular model over cheaper ones is that the Jabra Freeway automatically turns off and on, depending on whether you are in the car or not.
Simpler analogues turn off on their own, and must be activated manually; they are controlled only by buttons - in general, they have more limited functionality. The disadvantage of the device is its rather large dimensions, so, if desired, you can find more compact options.

Mini speaker in the car interior

Minispeaker speakers, despite their small sizes, reproduce enough high quality sound, but their capabilities are not limited to this. The main “trump card” of these devices is their small size, which makes it easy to choose a place for installation, the main thing is that the control buttons are accessible to the driver.
Instructions for the minispeaker when connecting a phone to it:

  • turn on the device;
  • go through the phone menu to settings;
  • turn on the Bluetooth function;
  • If the phone asks for a PIN code, enter it and the connection will be established. If the manufacturer has not indicated the code, then dial 0000 or 1111.

Operate the phone according to the manufacturer's instructions using the buttons on the speaker.
Most devices are also equipped with a microphone, so you don’t have to worry about the quality of the sound that your interlocutor perceives during a conversation.

Connecting the phone to the radio

Speakerphone in the car

The audio system still reproduces higher quality and more spacious sound than miniature speakers, so connecting the speakerphone in the car through the radio makes talking on the phone while driving safer, since you don’t have to strain your ears to hear the interlocutor. There are several ways to do this.

Wired connection

To provide a hands-free connection in the car via AUX or USB cable You will mainly need the wire itself and the presence of a corresponding connector on the radio panel. In addition, take care of the secure fixation of the phone - securing it using a special bracket. Most convenient way– installing the suction cup holder on the windshield.
This method has a significant drawback - you will have to use the phone’s microphone to talk, which will be some inconvenience. But for listening to music “downloaded” to the phone, it’s quite suitable.

Connection via Bluetooth

The connection with the radio in this case is wireless, which is very convenient, but drains the phone battery faster.
Products from the French company Parrot have become very popular among car enthusiasts. The Bluetooth hands-free device Parrot CK3100 LCD connects to the radio via a set of wires, has a fairly large display and is convenient to use.

Speakerphone Parrot CK 3100

The display shows all the information about the phone, and the directional microphone for hands-free calls guarantees signal quality. It is possible to connect to standard buttons on the steering wheel, which will require certain skills and the availability of wires with compatible plugs. But when purchasing, be sure to pay attention to the fact that the menu is in Russian and check the package contents - due to the popularity of the products, it is possible to purchase a fake.
The original Parrot CK 3100 hands-free device costs about 15,000 rubles.

Freeing the driver's hands from the phone will undoubtedly affect safety. In addition, you will prevent the possibility of being punished for breaking the rules. The fine for talking on the phone while driving cannot be called small - it is 15,000.
Before purchasing and connecting a speakerphone in a car, it would be useful to make some kind of calculation - whether it is worth buying an expensive device or purchasing an inexpensive product - this is determined by the time you spend behind the wheel. If the car is used infrequently, then it is quite enough to park for a conversation or call back.

With the increasing level of quality of the car interior, as well as the development of internal microprocessor electronics, it becomes topical issue How to connect your phone via Bluetooth in your car. Before directly considering the description of the process itself, it is worth stipulating the conditions and the very possibility of carrying out such an action.

What conditions are needed?

In order for everything to work and the connection to make any sense at all, the Bluetooth modules on both devices need to have the appropriate set of protocols, including A2DP. Most car Bluetooth devices have built-in support of this protocol, but here are the old versions mobile phones don't always support streaming, and this is worth taking into account.

But even for machines without the corresponding built-in factory equipment, such a connection is possible. Fortunately, relatively modern car radios are equipped with similar modules, which greatly simplifies life for those who want to benefit from the car-phone tandem. As a last resort, there are specialized Bluetooth dongles - devices that connect to radios via a 3.5 mm TRS connector or simply Mini Jack. Recently, such gadgets have begun to appear en masse in various offline and online stores, as the demand for them is incredible.

But, be that as it may, the pairing process is based on the same principle, so the described method will be relevant for all types of connection, be it a factory computer, a built-in player or a car radio.

Connection pattern

In principle, there are two ways to connect a phone to a car via Bluetooth, and they differ only in the device from which the connection will be made. You can do this:

  • By telephone.
  • From a car device.

But this does not mean that only one device will participate in the connection. Both variations will use both devices. The only difference is which equipment will be used more. Of course, the connection technique will be somewhat different. But first things first.

Let's start with the first, and therefore easier and simpler option.

All you need to do is take your phone, go to Bluetooth settings and scan devices. After a few seconds, the name of the car, radio and dongle will be shown on the screen.

Click on it to confirm the connection.

After which, a pairing request will appear on the car computer screen, where the system will also indicate a virtual or mechanical button or key that must be pressed to confirm. After clicking, the connection will be made and you can start using the provided functions.

If the main car

The second option is more difficult, but not by much. Go to the radio settings or on-board computer and look for the Bluetooth item.

This review will be entirely dedicated to car enthusiasts who care about safe driving (the review contains 1 video, 36 photos and 34,529 letters, read LOTS OF TRAFFIC!!!).
For me, this story began on June 5 last year, when I was crossing one of the intersections of the city “G” on a beautiful summer day while simultaneously solving work issues by phone. The next moment the expected happened "BOOM!!!" and as a consequence:

Invoice for telephone conversations$4000 was included for car repairs...

The first step after purchase new car began the search for a convenient and functional hands-free device, also known as HANDSFREE.

Main criteria :
1. Ease of (de)installation and operation. This requirement was dictated by considerations of convenience and safety: the device should be easy to install and quickly remove from its fasteners in the cabin in order to avoid the encroachment of a criminal element.
2. High-quality communication. The main requirement is a comfortable (ideally indistinguishable) quality of communication for interlocutors when talking via HandsFree.
3. Independent power consumption. Possible options descending: a) standard constant power from the car without using the cigarette lighter, b) Sooo capacious battery with charging from the cigarette lighter, c) speakerphone with constant power from the cigarette lighter, which is not at all “ice”...
As it turns out, there is another option, which will be discussed in the review.

Looking into the depths of the domestic Internet, I realized that in less than $100 I can't find the device I need. Among other things, the options found were difficult to remove when selling the car, and it’s unlikely that anyone will appreciate a hundred-dollar investment in a speakerphone when purchasing...
China, in turn, offered many more options for less money. As a result, I seriously considered the following options:

Cost $16 - at the time of ordering, it met the criteria of “versatility” (FM modulator + speakerphone), “ease of use” (took it out of the cigarette lighter socket and threw it into the glove compartment). I had to make sure of the quality of the connection.

Cost $25 - I abandoned the purchase almost immediately due to the small volume of the battery (100 mAh), the inconvenience of charging and connection to the radio socket (i.e., to turn on the speakerphone, you must install the radio panel)

Cost $31 . This review is dedicated to him.

The purchase priority was sorted according to the most despicable criteria - cost. Why? Because if a $15 device satisfies a need, there is no need to pay twice as much. As it turned out later, price still determines quality.

Option #1 was ordered and used for several days. In the end I abandoned it due to:
1. Dimensions - a ridiculously hefty “sunflower”
2. Bad connection remote control with modulator, disgusting attachment of the remote control to the steering wheel
3. Objectively poor quality of music and (most importantly) disgusting connection! The most popular words from my interlocutors were “what?”, “I don’t understand..!” and “repeat...”, but there was no talk about driving safety - during the conversation you had to constantly lean towards the microphone.

From option No. 2 I also refused in the form of a microphone for the radio. There are also devices that connect to the phone as an earphone and via micro USB.

There's only one left Option #3 : Solar/Car Charger Powered Rechargeable 1.8" LCM Bluetooth Caller ID Handsfree Set.

Gathering information on the Internet led to an information package of:
- videos in which impulsive English-speaking American-mestizo people talk about the fantastic convenience of a SIMILAR device
- a meager 2-3 reviews for a Google search…
- laudatory descriptions of the product on the seller’s page, which may not be an argument.
In short, an information vacuum!

One way or another, but the declared characteristics I liked the last device:
- 2.4 GHz Bluetooth version, transmission range - 10 meters.
- 1.8" LCM display
- Caller ID with name display
- Ability to save incoming messages telephone numbers
- DSP technology, full duplex, noise and echo cancellation
- Built-in high intelligent microphone and powerful speaker
- Scroll 20 incoming calls, store 600 contacts
- Basic functions: Volume level / Answer call / end call
- Power: built-in 1500mAh lithium battery or car charger
- Charging: Solar panel or car charger (DC 12 ~ 24V)
- Talk time: 9 hours depending on call intensity
- Standby use: 5 days
- Set includes:
- 1 * Bluetooth Handsfree
- 1 * Automotive Charger(12~24V)
- 1 * USB cable
- 1 * Mount (suction cups to the glass + clip to the visor)
- 1 * User Manual (on English language)

In declared characteristics We were especially pleased with:
- impressive battery capacity, a lot of communication quality improvers, a modern design with a nice display and (!) the ability to recharge the battery from solar energy.
The only Rubicon that had to be overcome to buy was the price of 31 USD. Having estimated that this device could successfully roam from car to car for many years, I decided that I would not be at a loss. Ordered.

I won’t describe the ordeals of sending packages - everyone will have their own.

First impressions after receiving.

The parcel arrived without damage. The first impression after opening the envelope is THING!!!

Solid, thick cardboard packaging with lamination is made in a vignette format. The front panel folds back and the device is visible in the blister window. The block itself is packed thoroughly in white polyethylene foam. Each item is packed in a separate bag. Everything in the picture is included.

Fasteners

The fastener material is transparent plastic. The fastener involves 2 forms of fastening: a glass with suction cups to the glass and a glass with a clip to the sun visor.

Clip was immediately shelved because its attachment to the visor excluded the main advantage of using the device - charging from the sun. For this reason, I can’t say anything about the practicality of this fastener. Plastic thickness - 3mm. It’s clear - the plastic is thick, the clip is attached tightly and doesn’t come off when shaken.

Fastening to glass made using 3 suction cups. When the device is attached to the glass, it does not fall out while moving. The only drawback is the rattling in the glass during a conversation. The problem was solved by two fabric gaskets at the joints of the fastener and the device.

Charger

The device is complete UNIVERSAL car charger 12-24V/5V, 1000 mA + USB/miniUSB cable 1.5 m long. From this charge, both the recorder and the THL W8 phone “started up”, so I confirm the versatility. The charger is equipped with a blue diode that lights up constantly regardless of use. To be fair, I note that the charger received from the seller differs from the charging indicated on the seller’s page... for the better! It is much smaller (only 54mm) and looks neater in the cigarette lighter socket

Instructions

It's in English. Considering the rather modest functionality of the device, it didn’t take long to figure it out. It is also necessary to remember that for the Chinese, English is also not their native language, so they write it simply and clearly at the level of “London from the Capital of Great Britain...”. For those suffering, I can upload the scan to the thread (on request)

Speakerphone

And now to the sweets. The device has the following dimensions: 111/54/19mm, speaker size: 45mm/solar panel size: 35/51, display 1.8"

The block has the shape of... a “remnant”, as well as tactile sensations. Black and silver plastic, glossy surface.

The front side is equipped with three buttons:
* "ACCEPT/END END". The button is neither big nor small. There is no need to feel when pressing. This very button is an indicator of the device’s status: blinks blue when the device is in call waiting mode / lights red when the battery is charging. When you press the button, a quiet click is heard.
* two smaller buttons "V+" And "V-". They are respectively responsible for the speaker volume, scrolling through contacts and outgoing/incoming calls.
These buttons, in different combinations, are responsible for other functions that are described in the instructions.
* there is a slider at the end "ON/OFF". Everything is clear here.
* In addition to the power button, at the end there is a miniUSB connector for charging and a microphone hole. In my opinion, the placement of the microphone is somewhat ill-thought out: if you hang the device, let’s say in the center windshield on the suction cup, the microphone is aimed at the passenger. This may negatively affect the quality of communication...

... however, I haven’t tried it, so I don’t insist...
That's all! What else do you need? (the question is rhetorical and does not require an answer)…

Usage

After turning on the device with the “ON/OFF” slider, the display lights up with a bright blue saturated light, quite pleasant to perceive. The letters glow white. The text is perfectly readable. Messages are displayed on one line. After the tones, the device calls itself CAR KIT and tries Connecting... In the phone, find the device called “G3” and add it, the password is “1234”. After authorization, the word Connected appears on the handsfree display, then the device with which it is Connected is named (for me it is “THL W8”) and the Bluetooth icon appears.

The device screen does not light up constantly; it goes out after 2 seconds. During operation, only the blue diode blinks - once every 3 seconds. When you press the central “Receive/End End” button, the display lights up for 2 seconds, which displays: the inscription CAR KIT, the Bluetooth icon and the battery status. The battery status is 4 bars, presumably each bar is 25% charged.

When getting into the car, if the devices are not authorized, you need to press the “ACCEPT/END END” button and the gadgets will be authorized automatically.

Charger

Full charging from the cigarette lighter took about 2.5 hours (with periodic turning off of the ignition). It is difficult to say how long the battery capacity lasts because charging from the solar module occurs constantly, regardless of the “ON/OFF” mode. This is indicated by a burning red diode around the “RECEIVE/END CALL” button. Moreover, depending on the intensity of the light flux, the brightness of the diode changes (the brighter the sun, the brighter the diode burns). While using it, I once turned off the device during the day for 4-5 hours. During this time, the sun charged the battery by 1 division. It works, devil!

Discharge

First of all, it depends on the intensity of calls and mode of use. I make 5-6 calls a day in the car, the rest of the time the device works in standby mode. In my case, a full battery charge lasted 1 week and 5 days. This is assuming that the device was used in relatively cloudy weather and was NEVER TURNED OFF. I believe that in the summer this figure will increase significantly. If the device is not turned off, it will constantly blink with a blue LED. At night, this may attract unnecessary attention from unnecessary passers-by.

Additional features

You can download a phone book to your device. There is such a function in the menu - “ADD PB”, after activation of which the device sends a request to pair with the phone. After approval of the operation, all numbers phone book sequentially copied to the device. After loading, the screen displays not a number, but a name in Latin letters. I don’t know whether the device supports the Russian language, since the days of the first Nokia I have kept all contacts in Latin
- It is also possible to change the screen orientation (turn it upside down). This will be useful for those who want to place the device on the panel
- Voice dialing function declared. I checked it, it works.
- Using the “V+” button you can scroll through the list of 20 outgoing contacts
- Use the “V-” button to scroll through the menu (read the instructions)

Sound

The power of the speaker installed in the device is unknown to me. Therefore, I will focus on personal impressions. The volume of the device has 6 levels. At level 6 the speaker rattles a little. At 5 - optimal: the volume is enough for comfortable communication and there is no rattling. The volume buttons are synchronized with the phone volume, i.e. with a change in volume on one, it changes on the second. The device also does not give an echo. Even with the radio on, you don't have to raise your voice. When communicating on the phone using a device, I regularly inquire about the quality of the connection. No complaints.
A short video.

Over the course of 3 years of steady Chinese dependence, I have purchased several hundred goods of various types: from light bulbs to tablets. This purchase is definitely one of the ten most successful! I recommend to all!
