Last year Chinese manufacturers Smartphones, one after another, began to install fingerprint sensors in their products. As a result, in a matter of months, this technology even penetrated into the segment of smartphones under $100, getting rid of the “patina of exclusivity” and ceasing to be an important “selling point.” To attract buyers, we now have to focus on other advantages, including battery capacity. It is growing rapidly: if just a year ago smartphones with a battery capacity of more than 4000 mAh were a rarity, then already in the fall of last year models with a battery capacity of more than 6000 mAh were announced. Such products have good autonomy, as evidenced by their large dimensions and weight, which are further increased due to the large diagonal of the screen. You remember that five inches for the Chinese is just a mini? But 6000 mAh is not the limit, as the new product from Oukitel proves.

Equipment, appearance

In the initial price segment It is customary to save on packaging design: simple printing and box materials, unified design with other models. But Oukitel K10000 does not belong to the entry-level segment by Chinese standards, and therefore the designers were allowed to express themselves. The usual rectangular packaging has a leather-like texture and is very pleasant to the touch, somewhat reminiscent of a soft-touch coating. Golden letters on a black background convey a minimum of information, but cope with the task of attracting attention. However, the IMEI codes are still indicated on the box.

The equipment is standard, but with some emphasis on the external battery function. The microUSB-USB cable with a switch that activates the charge release mode reminds you of the possibility of charging other devices. The Shenzhen Act APS-KI018W4E-G charger is also of interest. It changes the output voltage within 5, 7 or 9 V at a current of up to 2 A. This is clearly done to speed up battery charging; most likely, the legs are growing out of the program.

The included translucent plastic case is already placed on the smartphone and is not noticeable until the smartphone is taken out of the box. The ears of the case are attached to the side corners of the smartphone, while the sides remain open. The case fits tightly and does not play, the cutouts for the camera and flash exactly match the location of these elements on the smartphone.

The Oukitel K10000 smartphone looks brutal; this design will have both supporters and opponents. The sides of the case are made of aluminum alloy, the upper and lower insert parts (with spoken and ringing speakers) are made of polycarbonate, but visually almost merge with the metal edging.

The back panel is edged with soft-touch plastic: a good solution that provides good grip on the hand. The central part of the back panel is made of metal and bears a stylized image of a bull. Most of the body elements are made in the same harsh and rough style: the speaker grille, the rear camera window, the volume buttons - everything hints at the “off-road” qualities of the Oukitel K10000. Unfortunately, there is no dust and moisture protection here, but it would finally form the image of a smartphone ready for all adversity. So far, we are offered only outstanding battery capacity, and the accompanying features (very heavy weight and thickness) are hidden by a successful, catchy design. The smartphone cannot be disassembled and the battery cannot be replaced by the user. The memory card and SIM are installed in the basket on the left side, which is removed using the included lever.

The headphone jack is located on the top end; the bottom has two ringing speaker grilles (although there is only one speaker), a microphone and a microUSB port. The lock and volume buttons are located on the right side, but due to their location, the thumb rests on the volume down key, not the lock key, which is difficult to reach. Saves the situation different shape volume and lock keys, so that as you get used to the smartphone, erroneous presses will be kept to a minimum. The front camera does not have a flash, but the rear camera has a two-segment LED flash.

The body of the Oukitel K10000 smartphone has no gaps or cracks, and the quality of fit of metal and plastic parts is high. No creaks were noticed when squeezing/twisting.

Screen and sound

The screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels looks great on a screen diagonal of less than five inches, but at 5.5 inches, graininess can be seen with the naked eye. It does not hurt the eyes at all, but is noticeable when compared with a screen of an identical diagonal, but with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. In terms of pixel density, the Oukitel K10000 is inferior to many competitors: even smartphones priced around $150 now often offer Full HD screens, and the vast majority of such smartphones cost $180 (the price of this model). But not everything is so simple here - as the resolution increases, the power consumption of the screen and backlight also increases, and the smartphone uses up its charge faster in resource-intensive games. So Oukitel engineers, choosing between “screen” and “autonomy”, chose the latter.

The IPS matrix is used, which provides excellent viewing angles; when viewed from different angles, the image turns slightly yellow or blue, but remains legible. The minimum brightness is low enough for working in a dark room, but not all Chinese devices can drop it to comfortable values. The maximum brightness is good for a screen with an IPS matrix and will be sufficient when working outside on a sunny day, but without a large margin. Automatic adjustment brightness operates smoothly, with a delay of several seconds after changing the ambient light level.

The audio path of the Oukitel K10000 smartphone does not contain expensive amplifiers or DACs for ringing speakers or headphones. As a result, the ringing speaker has an average volume and lacks bass, but quite clear sound. The BesLoudness function will help correct the volume situation, noticeably increasing the average level in musical compositions, but leaving the signal peaks untouched (according to subjective feelings). The sound quality in the headphones is in no way inferior to models with flagship Qualcomm SoCs without specialized DACs or operational amplifiers. The headphones do not have background noise, which is sometimes found in other smartphones. One can only complain about the lack of a large volume headroom, but it is just enough for in-ear models.

Photo

The Oukitel K10000 smartphone is equipped with a rear camera with a two-segment LED flash. The camera resolution is stated as 13 megapixels, but at least one store indicates that in fact it is 8 megapixels, and everything else is a matter of interpolation. The camera software is no different from other devices based on MediaTek platforms, except that it includes the ability to shoot HDR and apply several simple effects (sepia, negative, etc.). There are also front-camera, 2 MP resolution, with interpolation up to 5 MP.

All pictures were taken in automatic mode. To test the capabilities of the sensor, I compared it with the Nubia Z7 Mini, which has an honest 13 MP sensor. Above is a photo of Oukitel, below is Nubia, and the first two photos were taken at 8 megapixel resolution, forcedly installed on both smartphones:

Oukitel on top, Nubia on bottom. 8 MP (left) and 13 MP (right) photos

In terms of image clarity with a resolution of 8 megapixels, the Oukitel K10000 smartphone is not inferior, and in some places even surpasses the Nubia Z7 Mini. The results are generally good, with competent “noise reduction”, although the shift is noticeable color range in warm colors. But with a “native” resolution of 13 megapixels, the Oukitel K10000 already loses a lot in image clarity; this is very similar to the result of interpolation. I advise all owners of Oukitel K10000 to shoot in 8 megapixel resolution (giving best quality) and do not waste space on your memory card. .

OS and interface

All firmware for the Oukitel K10000 smartphone on this moment based on Android 5.1 OS, but GUI has been redesigned. Now all system and user applications are grouped on desktops (like in iOS) instead of the main menu. You can create folders and even select design themes, although there are only two of the latter and they only change the style of the icons. There is also a working wireless update function that does its job automatically and shows a list of changes in the new firmware.

WhatsApp, Opera Mini and Clean Master are installed, more significant changes are hidden in the settings menu. There are several points for controlling gestures: you can configure the behavior of the phone when there is an incoming call and conversation, launch the camera, take screenshots and adjust the volume with a simple movement of two or three fingers.

A separate menu item is responsible for recognizing gestures when the screen is off: just draw an “m” with your finger on the off screen to start/pause music player, "s" to enter phone book, swipe down to launch the camera, swipe up to unlock, etc.

Finally, the “Float Gesture” menu item allows you to record your gestures to launch any system or custom application. These gestures only work in a special widget that can move around the screen, and clicking on it opens a radial menu with several items, including gesture recognition. Interesting feature, but to launch the application you need to make quite a lot of movements, sometimes it’s faster to find the desired program on the menu. Only gestures drawn with one finger are supported, without leaving the screen. If these gestures can be recognized in the future even when the screen is off, then the benefits of “Float Gesture” will increase significantly.

For those users who, since the last charge of their Oukitel K10000 smartphone, have time to forget about the need to recharge, the Power Saver utility will come in handy. It can activate the basic functionality mode if the battery charge is suddenly will fall below 10% (you can also choose from 20% and 30%). In this mode, everything will turn off wireless network, the music will stop and the screen backlight will go out, and the user will have only three functions: calls, contacts and SMS. You can return to normal functionality only by exiting the economy mode.

Hardware platform and performance

The Oukitel K10000 smartphone is based on the MediaTek MT6735P SoC, which differs from the regular MT6735 in the reduced frequency of the processor cores. Four ARM Cortex-A53 cores operate at 1 GHz, instead of 1.3 GHz, and the picture is complemented by an entry-level ARM Mali-T720 GPU. With such a SoC, the Oukitel K10000 smartphone is unlikely to be able to claim leadership in gaming applications; its choice does not seem very justified for a smartphone priced at $180. But, as with the screen, in this case the company could focus on autonomy and only lastly on performance. While competitors offer smartphones based on SoC with similar cores, but in the number of eight, with a frequency above 1.5 GHz, but with a “one-day” battery with a capacity of about 2500 mAh, Oukitel decided to follow the saying “the quieter you go, the further you will go.”

The amount of RAM is 2 GB - not a record, but a sufficient level for all everyday applications, and for SoC MediaTek MT6735P a larger volume is simply not needed. After loading the OS, more than 1300 MB of RAM remain free. Built-in flash memory with a capacity of 16 GB, of which 11.6 GB is available to the user, there is also a slot for microSD cards up to 32 GB. It's time to evaluate the performance of Oukitel K10000 in test applications:

The test results can be called very modest, although they correspond to the level of SoC MT6735P. It is more than two times inferior to the MT6753 model, which is found even in more affordable smartphones than today's hero. In terms of hardware characteristics (with the exception of the battery), the Oukitel K10000 is a clear outsider for its price. How are things going in real games?

In Real Racing 3, the gameplay in some places resembles a gif animation: with a frame rate of about 15 fps, it is difficult to control a high-speed car. The situation weakly depends on the number of cars on the screen; even when there is a clear track in front of the player, the frame rate remains low. Asphalt 8 with high image settings is still not playable comfortably, on medium fps settings acceptable, optimal at low levels. In Dead Trigger 2 the situation is better; fps sags only in complex scenes with a lot of effects on the screen, which happens infrequently.

With active use, you may encounter slowdowns and “thoughtfulness” of the smartphone. Actively surfing the Play Market while simultaneously installing applications will certainly remind you of the modest characteristics of the platform being used. In navigation applications, when loading offline maps and 3D visualizations, you also cannot count on instant response from the interface. Working with the OS resembles the user experience flagship smartphones four years ago (with the then current version of the Android OS), the “thoughtfulness” of the interface is present, but not so noticeable as to interfere with everyday work.

Communications

The Oukitel K10000 smartphone works in GSM networks 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 1900/2100 and FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600. Two Micro SIM cards are installed in a removable basket, but when installing a memory card, only one slot for Micro SIM will remain free.

Wi-Fi speed tested when connected to TP-Link router TL-WR1043ND (first revision), for which the limit is 300 Mbit/s at 2.4 GHz. Tariff plan provides speeds up to 100 Mbit/s. The smartphone was located at a distance of one meter in direct line of sight from the router:

Upload and download reached 66 and 69 Mbit/s respectively, this is a very good result. The table also contains more modest readings; they were obtained when connecting to another server.

In the open air, the smartphone quickly finds navigation satellites, the communication quality is good, as is the sensitivity.

Autonomous operation

This section is key for a smartphone with a 10,000 mAh battery. The Oukitel K10000, with the screen brightness and speaker volume fixed at 50% and Wi-Fi turned on, performed as follows in the PCMark and AnTuTu Tester tests:

Almost 26 hours in the PCMark test is an outstanding result; it is rare that a smartphone shows more than 7 hours in this application. The other side of the coin was the size, weight and whimsical nature of the chargers. My Tronsmart Smart USB Charger charged the Oukitel K10000 smartphone at a speed of about 2-3% per hour. At the same time, this charger is able (in most cases) to detect the connected load and provide optimal charging speed, but the Oukitel K10000 was an exception. With the included charger, the smartphone charged from 14% to 46% in an hour, and after another hour the charge level was already 78%. Thus, the complete charger charges the battery by more than 30% in an hour. The capriciousness of a smartphone leads to the fact that in conditions of limited time it makes sense to charge it only with the included charger, the rest network adapters are unlikely to provide acceptable charging speeds.

Results

The Oukitel K10000 smartphone can be recommended to users who find themselves away from a power outlet for a long time, and from civilization in general. With such a product you can be sure that mobile connection and GPS will be available a week (or even longer) after the last charge of the built-in battery. But on a long hike you shouldn’t rely on one smartphone; you should take at least one external battery with you. A brutal appearance can be a plus, depending on individual preferences.

Other buyers should keep in mind that the impressive terms battery life achieved, among other things, through the use of the rather weak MediaTek MT6735P SoC, which is found in much more affordable smartphones. But if modest performance and screen resolution, the use of interpolation in the camera are not important factors when choosing a smartphone, then the Oukitel K10000 can be considered.

Hi all. There is an opportunity to introduce you to interesting new products. Last time we reviewed interesting watches in terms of autonomy. And today it’s no less unique. On review is Oukitel K10000 with a 10000mAh battery. I propose to get to know this monster in more detail and see what it is capable of.

The phone comes in a stylish black box, in which it is not a shame to give it as a gift. On the surface there is an imitation of some kind of leather; only crocodile comes to mind. On the upper part the inscription of the manufacturer's company is made in glossy golden paint. On the bottom side is the manufacturer's address and some information about the charger.

The inside of the box is lined with black velvet. Looks very stylish. We will analyze each element of the package separately.

The tray for SIM cards and memory cards is located on the side, so there is a paper clip in the box. Charger at 5/7/9V and 2A. Fully charges the phone in 3.5 hours.

I checked the charging using a tester. It was not possible to get more than 1.61A.

Next, there is a protective film and a cloth for cleaning the screen.

OTG cable and cable for charging and data transfer.

Separately, in a black paper envelope with golden inscription, there are instructions for this phone.

And a plastic case on the back. The side edges are transparent.

Appearance

The phone looks very brutal and massive. Screen size 5.5 inches. There are no round smooth edges on the front side. There is a metal frame along the perimeter. In general, I think the manufacturer managed to stand out with the design of this phone from the gray mass of similar devices.

On the left side there is a tray for SIM cards and memory cards. You can use 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM card and a memory card at the same time. That is, the tray is combined. There are rivets on the bottom and top.

At the bottom of the screen there are buttons Menu-Back-Home. They are not illuminated.

At the top of the screen, from right to left, there is a 5MP camera, a light and proximity sensor, and a speaker. The speaker is framed in a beautiful grille.

On the right side there is a phone on/off button and a volume rocker. The buttons do not play, everything is done fine. It’s more common for me when they are located on the right side.

At the top end there is a headphone jack. I don’t really like it when the audio output and microusb are separated at different ends.

There is a microphone at the bottom right end. There are also 2 speakers here. Outwardly they look powerful, but only one of them is real, the one on the right. A microusb port with OTG function was placed between the speakers.

The back side looks no less brutal and powerful than the front of the phone. The cover is metal and has rivets, the battery is not removable. There is a rubberized part around this cover.

On the lid there is a stylized image of a bull. This is due to the name of the models of this manufacturer for the domestic market. Looks impressive.

At the top there is a double led flash and a 13MP camera.

At the bottom is the manufacturer's name.

Combined with a metal frame and a capacious battery, this phone can't weigh much, but even I'm a little surprised. Weight 318g. You can’t wear one like this in your breast pocket; you can easily tear it off. But I think the target audience won't be put off by the weight.

Screen

This model has a 5.5" screen with HD, IPS, OGS resolution. The screen is good. At large angles the picture remains clearly visible. I think this model will have 178 degrees. The phone has a sufficient brightness reserve. In sunny weather you can see the picture on the screen without any problems I didn't notice any distortion or loss of quality. For me, reading books at minimum brightness is not comfortable. But there are owners of this model who are satisfied with everything in this regard.

Firmware

This model has Android 5.1 installed. In the future, the manufacturer promises a sixth version. There is no desktop on the phone; applications are located directly on the screens. The icons have their own design that differs from the standard one. Installed play market and there is Clean master. No purely Chinese applications were noticed.

There is a circle on the screen. If you click on it, they fall out additional menus. This circle can be disabled in the settings. I liked the presence of the Game mode, when selected, the lower buttons of the screen are blocked and you can safely play. Sometimes you accidentally click on one of them while playing and it throws you out of the game - it’s annoying.

The phone has 2GB of RAM, but from the start 1.5GB is available to the user. Of the 16GB of internal memory, 11.59GB are available. The built-in memory can be increased with 32GB memory cards.

In this model, it is possible to receive updates over the air, but at the time of testing nothing arrived. There is a menu with gestures, but like in many phones they are not fully translated. And there is a separate application for saving battery power.

Performance tests, networks, autonomy.

Games

Coming from iron this phone It becomes clear that this is not a gaming phone. In Asphalt8 at the most high settings fps starts to drop. Let's remember that the Epic Citadel at ultra high settings produced 21 frames per second. On medium settings everything is fine. To test the quality of the touchscreen I used the Nibbler toy. Why is this being done? It happens that you press one sector of the phone, but another one works. Everything is good in this model. You can watch the games in the video review.

Camera

The front camera is 2MP with interpolation up to 5MP, and the rear camera with auto focus is 8MP with interpolation up to 13MP. The original files can be downloaded from this link. Video is recorded in FullHD with 3gp extension. An example of video shooting with sound testing can be seen in the video review.

As always, I'm doing a video review. In it you can look at the process of testing in games, checking OTG and checking the quality of audio recording when shooting video.

Conclusion

The phone has mediocre cameras, so you shouldn't expect much from them. Both of them are with interpolation, the rear one is with auto focus. 2GB of RAM is enough for daily tasks and comfortable surfing the Internet. Of the 16GB of internal memory, almost 11GB is available to the user, but can be increased by using 32GB memory cards. This model uses a combined slot for 2 SIM cards and a memory card. You can use 2 SIM cards or a SIM card and a memory card at the same time. Now this is the situation with many manufacturers in new phones. IN Antutu phone scores just over 24,000, about the same result as the Cubot P11. In phone good screen with a wide brightness range. Subjectively, for me, the brightness at the minimum level is too much for reading books, but other owners are satisfied. The viewing angles are good; on the street you can easily see the picture on the screen. At the highest settings in Asphal8 fps drops a little, in Epic Citadel at ultra high it produces 21fps. The advantages of this phone include the presence of OTG and 4G. The disadvantage is the lack of an event indicator. I often have the sound turned off for work issues and this thing saves me.

Externally, the phone stands out due to the broken lines on the body and its size. There is a metal frame around the screen. I remember riding on the subway and half the car was watching with interest what I was holding in my hands. The back side looks no less impressive: the black metal plate and the bull also attract attention. But 318g. The phone weighs not only because of the metal. The battery is set at 10000mah, it is not removable. The phone can last 14.5 hours in heavy games with communication networks, wi-fi and 100% screen brightness turned on. This is the best result to date.

Of course, this phone has already found and will find its category of buyers, but this model is not for me: you can’t put it in a shirt pocket. And according to information from the manufacturer, Android 6.0 and a fingerprint scanner are expected in the updated model, but this will happen in the second half of the year.

Thanks everyone for your attention.

Where can I buy?
I liked the review +17 +50

The largest smartphone manufacturers do not produce models with truly powerful batteries. They stopped at the 5000 mAh mark - and that’s where they stand. And some, like HTC and Samsung, can't even break 4000 mAh. It is understandable: large and rich companies can afford to optimize the power consumption of a smartphone in other ways, for example, by using the latest generation of energy-efficient screens and modern 10-nanometer chipsets.

On the other hand, the “old-fashioned method” - using a really large battery - is also quite effective. In this ranking you will find 7 smartphones with really serious batteries - from 6000 mAh and more. Perhaps, in order to “squeeze” the maximum operating time out of this or that device, you will have to tinker with the software, but most of these devices are inexpensive.

7. BlackView P2 (6000 mAh, 11,900 rubles)

A metal smartphone with 4 GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, an average MediaTek chipset and so on - in a word, a typical inexpensive Chinese device 2017 model. If it weren’t for one “but”: the battery here is about twice as large as a regular one - 6000 mAh. We would venture to guess that she will last four days without any problems. Unless, of course, you get a copy with normal and not crooked firmware - when buying small smartphones Chinese brands this happens all the time. Then you should go to the specialized forums where the “pickers” of these very firmwares sit. They will help.

6. Ulefone Power 2 (6050 mAh, about 10 thousand rubles)

This device also cannot boast of top-end specifications - a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, an average MediaTek MT6750T chipset, and so on. In general, everything is about the same as the BlackView model. And the battery is almost the same - 6050 mAh. Yes, and with the firmware the same situation. Ideally, you can count on several days of confident work, but in practice - how it goes.

5. Oukitel K6000 Plus (6080 mAh, about 10 thousand rubles)

And again chinese smartphone with a battery of around 6000 mAh (the developers are talking about 6080), a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, a MediaTek chipset, a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel and other set of features typical of mid-level devices from the Middle Kingdom. What makes Oukitel stand out from the general background is, perhaps, only its pedigree - the company has been working on smartphones with powerful batteries for a long time and was even able to set a number of records (more on one of them below).

4. + Moto TurboPower Pack (2730 + 3490 = 6220 mAh, more than 60 thousand rubles)

The Motorola Z2 Force does not have a very capacious battery - only 2730 mAh. But! For Motorola smartphones, as is known, are issued back covers Moto Mods with different functionality, including batteries. And if you attach the Moto TurboPower Pack with its 3490 mAh to the Z2 Force, then the total will be as much as 6220 mAh. An inelegant solution, would you say? We disagree: Motorola did this back panel very thin, so that with it the device will be only slightly larger than a typical smartphone. And yes, the Moto TurboPower Pack is compatible with a number of other Motorola Z-series models. We put the Moto Z2 Force here only because it is the most unusual in the Motorola line - the screen of this model is very difficult to break.

3. Highscreen Easy Power (8000 mAh, 7490 rubles)

The model combines very simple components (1 GB of RAM, a weak MediaTek chipset, a 5-inch screen with HD resolution), but the battery is gigantic - 8000 mAh. As a result, the smartphone works for quite a long time. On the other hand, the weak filling makes it suitable for use as a means of communication and access to the Internet, but certainly not for the same games.

2. (3100 + 6900 mAh = 10000 mAh, 13990 rubles)

This smartphone comes with removable batteries of 3100 and 6900 mAh, as well as rear panels for each of them. I installed the first battery and got a relatively thin device with a couple of days of “autonomy” left; I installed the second one – and now you have three or four more days. In total, in theory, it comes out to about a week. Highscreen Boost 3 SE Pro is equipped with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a slightly outdated 8-core MediaTek chipset (after all, the smartphone is more than two years old) and a 13 megapixel camera. A special feature of the model is an advanced audio system, including an ESS9018K2M DAC and an ADA4897-2 amplifier.

1. (10000 mAh, about 11 thousand rubles)

If the K10000 model turned out to be quite unsuccessful (a few details -), then the K10000 Pro has a chance to rehabilitate the manufacturer. The device received a more modern (and faster) hardware platform and, hopefully, normally optimized firmware. Which, together with a monstrous 10,000 mAh battery, will allow it to work for a really long time. Want to check how durable it is? Order now. It is relatively inexpensive and, among other things, offers a design in the style of “a bit of a collective farm replica of Vertu.” However, from a distance of a couple of meters this “collective farm” quality is no longer noticeable.
