Phone hardware installation

The handset can be registered to a maximum of 4 base units. The base unit can be registered to a maximum of 8 handsets.

The handset and base included are pre-registered. If for some reason the handset is not registered to the base unit (for example, the signal strength is insufficient even if the handset is close to the base unit), register the handset again.

If the DECT handset (DECT phone) is not registered (registration is lost) with the BS, you need to delete the previously selected BS in the DECT handset and register again. To do this, do the following:

These settings have been tested for Panasonic KX-TGP500 using KX-TPA50 handsets and firmware version 22:58 . note that different versions firmware may have different web interfaces and/or different functionality. This manual is for a new phone or for a device that has been reset to factory settings. If you're sleepy, return your phone to factory settings.

KX-TGP500 supports up to 8 SIP accounts, 6 DECT phones and up to 3 simultaneous calls. This instruction also applies to setting up KX-TGP600, who came as a replacement.

Additionally: To ensure the basic parameters of the DECT base, you must create at least one new extension number and use the provided KX-TGP500 templates. Since many DECT phones are used in combination with a desk phone, the two phones must use the same extension number (using SIP Forked ID). In this case, you need to create a fictitious extension number, and configure new phone DECT. After preparing the phone with the details of the new number, you can remove the fictitious number from 3CX Phone and set up SIP account 1 with the details of the existing number.

This guide covers all the necessary steps. For successful configuration, all steps must be completed:

1) Register the first phone with a DECT base

2) Login to the web interface of the DECT base station

3) Update the firmware version of the DECT base station

4) Configure the information provided in 3CX Phone System for the new phone

1. Registration of the first phone with DECT base

  • Connect the DECT base station to power and to the network.
  • Start the DECT base station. On at this stage, it will try to get an IP via DHCP.
  • The LED on the front panel will blink when it is ready.
  • On the first handset, press the joystick to enter the main menu.
  • Set “Initial Settings” and go to the “Registration” section.
  • Select “Register H.set”.
  • At the base station, press the “Connection” button and hold it for 4 seconds, the LED on the base begins to flash red.
  • On the handset, press the “OK” button and enter “0000” when prompted for a PIN code.
  • If pairing is successful, the indicator will flash orange and “Handset 1” will appear on the phone display.

2. Login to the web interface of the DECT base station

3. Updating the firmware version of the DECT base station

  • Open the DECT base station web interface > Maintenance > Local Firmware Update

  • Once the firmware update is complete, the new DECT base station will boot.
  • Using the handset, you need to activate "Embedded WEB" as shown in step 2.

4. Configuring the information provided in 3CX Phone System for a new phone

  • In the 3CX Management Console > Extensions, select “Add Extension”.
  • Set up your number details on the General tab.
  • Go to the phone provisioning tab.
  • Enter the phone's 12-character MAC address. This information can be found in the DECT base station web interface under the Status tab > Network Status.
  • From the drop-down list, select the model "Panasonic KT-TGP500"
  • Click OK to create the configuration file. The file is created in a directory on the web server and will be sent to the phone when it starts.

5. Automatic transfer of system settings to Panasonic DECT

Until now, you have been setting up your first phone. If you need to connect additional handsets, then you need to configure SIP information for new accounts manually. All settings except extension number, extension ID and password for all SIP accounts are already configured when you set up the first extension. The mapping between the extension number and the handset number can be configured in the settings: "Base> Telephone> Multi-number". Here you can configure settings for incoming and outgoing calls.

To create more internal accounts in the DECT system, you need to:

1) Setting up a new number in 3CX Phone System. You do not need to configure settings in the "Phone Provisioning" tab.

2) Use settings from an existing number.


Then switch to Telephone>Call Control>Line 2 and fill in the display name and extension number.


Repeat this process for each additional DECT internal.

Flaws

  • Can't download phone book 3CX
  • Calls from queues and groups will leave missed call notifications (regardless of whether the agent picked up or not)
