    good performance processor, fairly large capacity random access memory, affordable price, powerful video card, thin, bright display, full keyboard

    High performance, played all the latest games, everywhere at above average settings. Doesn't overheat. Comfortable keyboard. Price.

    Well, I would like to highlight the main advantages: Hardware (I think that the laptop fully justifies its cost) There were few brakes noticed. (And those because of everyone you let near him) I played all the games that came out during the period I was using the laptop (September 2010 - ~) without any brakes on maximum graphics. For which I am very grateful =) The HD video card makes me happy every day! Movies are a pleasure to watch (there is a mention of this in the shortcomings).

    Nice stylish design. Not Apple, of course, but more beautiful than many models from the same Toshiba or HP. Interesting solution keys on the keyboard, there is multi-touch and “smart” gesture recognition. Webcam 2 mpksl. Slim body. Rich HD LED screen. There are all the necessary and unnecessary ports. It’s not noisy at all, only when playing demanding new games and with a disc in DVD-ROM. But now the most important thing is that for that kind of money a 2 GHz quad-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and gaming video card from ATI, and also HD. All new gaming products fly to maximum settings. DVD writes to DL discs.

    great performance great price

    At the time of purchase (winter 2010) - the best combination of price and hardware. Powerful quad core, 4 gigabytes DDR3, HD 5xxx video card. Viewing angles are also very good. The device passed the test of GTA 4, Battlefield 3 and other demanding toys with a bang! (Subject to updating drivers with hotfixes from the AMD website). Relatively thin.

    Powerful vidyaha, the percentage is good, though multitasking is lame, pulls shift, call of pripyat, although at the highest with dx 10 it is not very good, the keyboard is comfortable, although it will get clogged, the performance rating for 7k is 5.5, but this is due to the HDD RAM 7.2 percent 6.9, etc.

    Great laptop for the price. Powerful, lightweight, with interesting design. Modern games are running: the latest CODE, GTA 4, Mafia 2. The OS loads quickly, the keyboard is comfortable. It heats up poorly under high load! Especially compared to the old Acer laptop on Santa Rosa.

    I think that for such money and such performance there are no disadvantages.
    It's just a pity HDD not 500. but 320 is also enough.

    It gets hot, it gets very hot.

    2 years ago 0

    short battery life (3 hours maximum), heavy, gets hot (while working with demanding applications), visibility changes at different viewing angles

    The build quality and convexity are especially noticeable above the F1-F3 buttons. Crackling around the touchpad, the plastic does not fit tightly.
    Battery. Lasts a maximum of 2.5-3 hours of internet surfing, only Wi-Fi works, brightness is almost at minimum.
    Display. The viewing angles are not very good, and the colors are not so great either.

    1) This, of course, is a screen - the viewing angle is ugly, but I note that in the dark, when watching HD movies at the desired viewing angle, it seems that this is no longer a laptop monitor, but a full-fledged TV;
    2) Lack of Bluetooth;
    3) Wi-Fi does not support the N standard (but I will add that the signal is excellent);
    4) The placement of the USB ports is a bit inappropriate, but this can be solved by the hub;
    5) Probably the most important drawback in my opinion is the cheap materials of the case. It’s not good for the boyars to put such iron in such plastic.
    6) Sometimes it strains keys located far from each other on the keyboard - dust/small debris/hair often gets in (underline as necessary);
    7) A bit heavy;
    8) This is not a drawback, but a small wish - it would come with a bag =))
    9) K

    Inconvenient placement of USB ports. The lid is a little dirty, you need to take it with clean hands or constantly wipe it with a napkin. When used for more than 1-2 hours, the bottom of the laptop and the left side get very hot, tolerable of course, but it would be better not to get hot.
    By default, Wi-Fi is turned on, which eats up the battery. I wasn't very pleased with the sound from the built-in speakers ( high frequency, as it seemed to me, but this is my personal opinion, I still connect a stereo system to the laptop).

    screen quality

    quiet speakers

    1. Wafer, only support b/g
    2. Plastic, it’s terrible, after six months you can hear squeaks everywhere, near the drive, along the edges... This is a huge minus.
    3. Cooling, or rather the lack of it, in AC Revelations it heated up to 100 degrees and turned off. The solution is to blow it out more often, or better yet, buy a cooling pad for it.

    battery life not enough, but I took it as a replacement for a stationary system, the FPS drops if you disconnect it from the network by 3-4 somewhere, the monitor has poor viewing angles but I’m already used to it, even though I’ve only had it for a week

    These are mediocre speakers built into a laptop, there is no bass at all. Standard matrix with poor viewing angles, small arrow buttons. And the battery lasts only an hour and a half

In August 2010, I was faced with the task of buying a laptop at an affordable price with good characteristics. After studying several dozen models, I chose a laptop from the Taiwanese manufacturer Acer ASPIRE 5551G-N934G32Mikk, which will be discussed in this short review.

operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 N930 (2000 MHz, 2 MB L2 cache)
Memory: 4096 MB DDR3 1066 MHz (max: 8192 MB)

Contents of delivery
The Acer ASPIRE 5551G-N934G32Mikk package includes a power adapter, a passport and a quick guide.

Recovery programs and drivers are written directly to the hard drive. After starting the laptop preset program Acer eRecovery Management offers to create disks with factory settings and drivers. I have 5 DVDs released.

Appearance
Acer ASPIRE 5551G-N934G32Mikk is available in several colors, I have a mixture of anthracite and marengo.

The design of the laptop is not bad, it looks quite stylish. The laptop body is matte with a peculiar pattern that gives the surface a pleasant roughness. Thanks to the matte finish, there are no fingerprints on the case, which is a plus. Another feature of the case is its flexibility on the top cover, which is somewhat unusual.

The wrist lining is made of a material that imitates aluminum. The working platform will fasten under the weight of the palm in the lower right part if the laptop is placed on a soft surface (sofa, pillow) or on the lap and will not fasten if the laptop is on a hard surface.

The reason for the squeak is the optical drive, located on the right side, and having a gap of 1 mm with the housing. I don't think this is a significant drawback; it's not easy to find people who work with a laptop on their lap or in bed.

But what I really didn’t like was the difficulty of inserting the power plug into the socket and the heating of the case under heavy load.

The keyboard has a long key travel and is comfortable to work with, but is prone to heavy clogging. Foolishness in the form of small arrows is inherited from one laptop to another, from one manufacturer to another.

The touchpad supports MultiTouch technology, if you learn how to use it, you can save time, this usually helps me in my work.

On the right side there are two USB port a, DVD-RW, Kensington Lock.

On the left side there is a power connector, VGA output, USB port, network RJ-45, HDMI output, audio outputs. The location of the interfaces at the ends is very inconvenient. At the front end there is a slot for expansion cards.

Comparison with

Display
The laptop has a 15.6" display with LED backlight and glossy finish. Screen resolution 1366x768. After matte finish Asus Eee PC 1005HA is inconvenient to work with the glossy screen of the Acer ASPIRE 5551G-N934G32Mikk. Horizontal and vertical viewing angles aren't exactly great, but are typical for most laptops.

Dust accumulates along the edges of the display, which is difficult to remove.

Performance
The laptop has 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, coupled with 4 GB RAM, a good video card and powerful processor Get excellent Windows Experience Index results:

The results of some CPU tests in Everest Ultimate Edition are below.
CPU Queen:

CPU PhotoWorxx:

CPU Zlib:

Thus, the performance of the Acer ASPIRE 5551G-N934G32Mikk is comparable to that of powerful personal machines.

Autonomous operation
The manufacturer claims up to 3 hours of battery life, but in reality, under maximum load, including FullHD video playback, the machine barely lasted up to an hour and a half. It's no wonder with this configuration.

conclusions
Last summer, Acer, releasing the ASPIRE 5551G-N934G32Mikk, broke the prevailing opinion that powerful laptops must be very expensive. The retail price of the laptop was set at 25,000 rubles. In terms of price-quality ratio, the Acer ASPIRE 5551G-N934G32Mikk remains the best solution today.

The laptop's closest competitor is HP PAVILION dv6-3105er for 30 thousand. rubles, having a similar configuration.

Pros:
- Powerful configuration
- Excellent performance to price ratio
- Comfortable keyboard
- Appearance

Minuses:
- Glossy screen finish
- Not ergonomic arrangement of ports and connections
- General contamination.
- Heats up

The image on a screen with a glossy finish tends to have more contrast and brightness; the colors appear more saturated on it. The main disadvantage of such screens is the appearance of noticeable glare from external lighting. Matte screens scatter the light falling on them and do not create unpleasant glare.
