Quite often, users cannot find their favorite applications on Google Play because they have been removed. Yes, indeed, this happens all the time. Either programs for downloading music from VK will disappear from the Market, or the well-known XModGames, which helps in online games, then something else. In the end, you simply may not have enough traffic to download this or that application, because not all of them weigh 10 megabytes. Some games have even “stepped over” the one gigabyte level. What to do in such cases? Are there really no workarounds? Eat! That is why we decided to tell you how to install the application on Android from your computer! There are more than enough ways, but we thought carefully and settled on the two most effective, simple and popular. They will suit everyone!

How to install an application on Android from a computer

As mentioned above, we have prepared two options: the first involves installing a specialized program called “InstallAPK”, the second involves using your own Google mail. Well, the easiest way is to connect your smartphone to your computer via USB and drop the downloaded .apk (application or game) onto your phone and then run the installation file through Explorer. In some cases, installing a cache is required; to do this, read the instructions: “ ”.

Both are extremely simple. Even the most inexperienced user can master them if desired.

Option one - installing applications via InstallAPK

First of all, you must download this program. And if for one reason or another you need to install an application on Android from a computer, you can use the above-mentioned software - it is the best in its business and works almost flawlessly. You can use it on any Windows versions, starting with XP.

Unfortunately, some devices are not supported by the program. But you shouldn’t despair - there is a 100% option that really works flawlessly.

Gmail as an app installer

Perhaps you still thought that Google mail is intended only for exchanging letters. But no, this is far from true - you can also install applications through it. What does the computer have to do with it?

As you can see, both methods are extremely simple, but few people know how to install the application on Android from a computer. The main thing is not to forget about the “tick”, because without them you cannot count on a successful installation.

Surely many users of Android devices on board were wondering if it is possible to install applications and games on a smartphone or tablet from a computer? We answer - there is an opportunity, and today we will tell you how to take advantage of it.

There are several ways to download programs or games for Android directly from your computer. Let's start with a method that is suitable for any device.

Method 1: Google Play Store web version

To use this method you will only need modern browser for viewing Internet pages, for example, Mozilla Firefox is suitable.

  1. Follow this link . will appear before you home page content store from Google.
  2. Using an Android device is almost impossible without a “good corporation” account, so you probably have one. You should log in using the button "To come in".

Be careful, use only the account that is registered for the device where you want to download the game or program!

  3. After logging into your account, either click on "Applications" and find what you need in the categories, or simply use the search bar at the top of the page.
  4. Having found what you need (for example, an antivirus), go to the application page. In it we are interested in the block marked in the screenshot.

Here is located necessary information– warnings about the presence of advertising or in-app purchases, the availability of this software for the device or region, and, of course, the button "Install". Make sure that the selected application is compatible with your device and click "Install".

You can also add the game or application you want to download to your wish list and install it directly from your smartphone (tablet) by going to a similar section of the Play Store.

  5. The service may require re-authentication (a security measure), so enter your password in the appropriate box.
  6. After these manipulations, the installation window will appear. In it, select the desired device (if there is more than one linked to the selected account), check the list of permissions required by the application and click "Install", if you agree with them.
  7. In the next window just click "OK".

And on the device itself, the download and subsequent installation of the application selected on the computer will begin.
  8. The method is extremely simple, but in this way you can download and install only those programs and games that are in the Play Store. Obviously, for the method to work, you need an Internet connection.

Method 2: InstALLAPK

This method is more complicated than the previous one, and involves the use of a small utility. It will come in handy when your computer already has an installation file for a game or program in APK format.

  1. After downloading and installing the utility, prepare your device. The first thing you need to do is enable "Developer Mode". You can do this as follows - go to "Settings""About the device" and tap on the item 7-10 times "Build number".

Please note that options for enabling developer mode may vary depending on the manufacturer, device model, and installed version OS.
  2. After such manipulation in the menu general settings the item should appear "For developers" or "Developer Options".

When you go to this item, check the box next to "USB Debugging".
  3. Then go to the security settings and find the item "Unknown sources", which also needs to be noted.
  4. After that, connect the device with a USB cable to the computer. The driver installation should begin. For correct operation of InstALLAPK you need ADB drivers. What are they and where to get them - read below.
  5. After installing these components, run the utility. Its window will look like this.

Click on the device name once. The following message will appear on your smartphone or tablet.

Confirm by pressing "OK". You can also note "Always allow this computer", so as not to confirm manually every time.

  6. The icon next to the device name will change color to green - this means a successful connection. For convenience, the device name can be changed to another.
  7. If the connection is successful, navigate to the folder where the APK file is stored. Windows should automatically associate them with InstallALLAPK, so all you have to do is double click by the file you want to install.
  8. Next is a rather unobvious moment for a beginner. A utility window will open, in which you need to single-click the connected device. Then the button will become active "Install" at the bottom of the window.

    Click on this button.

  9. The installation process will begin. Unfortunately, the program does not signal its completion in any way, so you have to check it manually. If the icon of the application that you installed appears in the device menu, it means that the procedure was successful and InstALLAPK can be closed.
  10. You can proceed to install the next application or downloaded game, or simply disconnect the device from the computer.
  11. Quite difficult at first glance, but this number of actions only requires initial setup– subsequently, it will be enough to simply connect your smartphone (tablet) to the PC, go to the location of the APK files and install them on the device with a double click of the mouse. However, some devices, despite all the tricks, are still not supported. InstALLAPK has alternatives, but the principles of operation of such utilities are no different from it.

The methods described above are the only viable options for installing games or applications from a computer today. Finally, we want to warn you - use either Google Play Store or

Most users tend to install applications on their mobile devices from official sources. In the case of Android OS, this is the Google Play store. The main advantage of this method of installing programs is regular updates. Google does not recommend, but still allows you to install applications on your smartphone or tablet that you downloaded from other sources. However, you will not be able to receive updates for them. As it turned out, there are solutions here too, how to always have current versions applications on your device.

There may be several reasons for this. For example, some developers do not want to publish their programs on Google Play, others are prohibited from doing so Google company, if they software contrary to the posting rules. Often, large companies, for one reason or another, can establish regional restrictions on access to their applications - a striking example of this case is the game Pokémon GO or the official client of the music streaming service Spotify, which are still not available in the Ukrainian segment of the application store.

We should not exclude the fact that Google Play does not work in some countries, including China. Accordingly, branded shells of Chinese mobile devices intended for sale in the domestic market do not contain Google services. And the last reason is that recently, users of smartphones and tablets are independently abandoning Google services in favor of increasing the autonomy of the device.

The only way to install the application on a smartphone or tablet in such cases is to download its APK file from other resources.

Where can I get Android apps other than Google Play?

There are plenty of such resources on the Internet, but not so many that are reputable and, importantly, safe. One of the most popular is the APK Downloader web service, which allows you to download from the Google Play store setup files applications. To do this, just paste into search bar page address the desired program in Google Play and click the “Generate Download Link” button. APK Downloader will download the application and provide a direct link to the APK file.

Other sources for downloading programs are APKMirror and APKPure. Let's make a reservation right away that these sites do not contain paid programs, and represent repositories free applications, essentially a kind of “mirror” of Google Play. APKMirror, in turn, includes programs not published in the official store, as well as experimental versions of applications.

Regardless of which resource you choose, you must allow installation of applications from unknown sources in your device settings.

How to update applications installed from unofficial sources?

The only problem with installing apps from third-party sources is that you won't receive updates. This applies to cases where you do not have Google services or the installed application is not available in your region. Therefore, to update the program, you will have to download the new version again. But there is a better way - these are special applications.

APKUpdater

APKUpdater is a small utility that searches for updates for everyone installed applications on the device and notifies about their presence. The program has only two tabs: the first displays a list of all available applications, and the second contains updates available for them.

If exists a new version application, the utility shows a link to download it. APKUpdater searches for updates not only in the official Google Play store (via APK Downloader), but also on APKMirror and APKPure resources. Thus, in a couple of clicks you can update all applications installed from unofficial sources, and even those that are not on Google Play.

In APKUpdater settings you can select or exclude certain sources: Google Play, APKMirror and APKPure. In addition to release updates, the utility allows you to receive alpha and beta versions of applications. APKUpdater can check for updates in background and notify the user about it. This action can be set to repeat daily or weekly.

In general, APKUpdater acts more as a tool for searching for new versions of installed applications, with which you can always keep programs on your smartphone or tablet up to date. If the utility could update applications independently, this would be an ideal solution.

APKPure App

APKPure App is an alternative app store that is official client APKPure service. Unlike APKUpdater, the utility allows you to search and download APK files of games and applications from only one source.

APKPure has a simple, classic interface and a convenient content structure. The main advantage of the application is the ability to update installed programs. The utility automatically detects the presence of new versions of applications and notifies the user about it. In addition, APKPure has the function of auto-installing downloaded APK files and deleting software packages after their installation.

As you can see, there are worthy alternatives to the Google Play store, so if the latter is not available, you can always install almost any application on your smartphone or tablet.

Many smartphones have the Android operating system, which initially has a lot of icons behind which various applications are hidden. Before we figure out how to install an application on Android, let's figure out what an Android application means?

The Android application is a program with clear functionality that is designed to work normally on a smartphone, taking into account its capabilities. For example, such a program could be a game, a State Services application, a Sberbank application, a VKontakte application and numerous other Android applications.

On the other hand, an Android application is an “apk” file (from the English Android Package).

The "apk" file is the executable or installation file. It contains the application code and all the resources needed to get the application up and running. After completing the installation procedure for the apk file, you will be able to use the application.

In accordance with the fact that an Android application is

  • or a regular application,
  • or an application in the form of an apk file,

Then you can install the application on Android in two ways:

  1. like a regular application that is installed from the store, or
  2. as an application that is launched through an apk installation file.

Applications: pre-installed and those that the user installs

Devices running on operating system Android, from the moment of purchase, contains a large number of applications. Such applications are called differently:

  • pre-installed
  • factory,
  • default applications
  • etc.

To the number of preset software usually includes applications that provide antivirus protection, device navigation, geolocation, communication, and much more. When the user becomes comfortable with the functionality that has already been installed, he may need to add applications independently, of his choice.

Users who have just started mastering Android often have a question: why do we need applications for Android, and in such quantities? Is it possible to do without them?

You don't have to install new applications, or turn off pre-installed applications. Accordingly, in this case the smartphone becomes “morally obsolete” mobile device, which only allows you to call, send/receive SMS and view the time. Agree that few people are satisfied with such “stripped-down” functionality of a smartphone.

In any case, as you master it, there is a need to install some applications: VKontakte, Facebook, WhatsApp or others. As they say, appetite comes with eating. Android applications are easy to install, and if you don’t like them, they can be easily removed. Below we will consider these actions in more detail using the example of the Android application for Yandex.Mail.

How to install an application on Android from stores: the first method

The word “store” does NOT mean that the Android application will be paid. The store may have both free and paid applications.

The easiest way to install applications is from Google Play Market. It’s convenient to search in the Play Store required applications and find out information about them. Installing applications from Play Store carried out by clicking on the “Install” button.

Let's look at how to download Yandex.Mail on Android. The application is supported on smartphones and tablets on Android based 4.0.3 and higher. To download other applications, the steps will be almost exactly the same.

The Play Market application is pre-installed for Android. Find the Play Market icon among Android Applications and open it:

Rice. 1. You can find the Play Market in Android Applications

After opening the Play Market store, you need to look for the Yandex.Mail application. To do this you can:

1 in Fig. 2 – enter “Yandex mail” in the search bar and
2 in Fig. 2 – the application will be found:

Rice. 2. Download Yandex Mail for Android from the Play Market

It is important to open official Android applications, because, alas, there are many “fake” ones.

Open the Yandex.Mail application in Google Play Market to download and install it:

Rice. 3. Install Yandex Mail on Android

Before installing the application on Android, for security reasons

Rice. 4. Accept permissions before downloading Yandex.Mail on Android

By clicking the “Accept” button for permissions for Yandex.Mail, the application will be downloaded to Android. And you will be able to open the mail or delete:

After the Yandex.Mail application is installed, you can later find the mail icon in Android Applications:

Rice. 6. Installed Yandex.Mail can be found in Applications

Google Play Market is NOT the only store where you can download Android applications.

  • Among domestic stores, one can highlight the Yandex Store.
  • The American Amazon AppStore is also widely known.

How to delete an Android application

It happens that you used an Android application, but then for some reason you are not satisfied with it and you want to delete it. The pre-installed application can only be turned off; it cannot be deleted.

And those applications that the user installed himself are easy to remove. For example, let's look at how to remove the Yandex.Mail application.

Open “Settings” of Android:

Rice. 7. Android settings can be found in Applications

In Settings, find the “Device” tab and go to Application Manager:

Rice. 8. Android Settings – Device – Application Manager

In the Application Manager, from all the variety of applications, you need to find the Yandex.Mail application, which will need to be deleted:

Rice. 9. Find Yandex.Mail in the Application Manager

Before deleting Yandex.Mail, it is advisable to:

1 in Fig. 10 – Clear cache,
2 – Clear data, then
3 in Fig. 10 – Delete Yandex.Mail.

Rice. 10. Clear cache, data and delete Yandex.Mail

Delete the Yandex.Mail application means that such an application will not be on the smartphone. But this does not mean at all that it will be deleted along with the application.

If you need to delete your Yandex.mail account, I wrote about how to do this on a computer.

If there is no “Delete” button for an application, or this button is not pressed, it means that such an application cannot be deleted, because without it Android will not be able to function normally.

How to install an application on Android: the second method is an apk file

Applications in Android system You can also install by directly clicking on the “apk” file, which was NOT obtained from the Play Store. Such a file can be installed not immediately, but at a convenient time. In addition, such a file can be sent to a friend.

There is an Apkpure store from where you can download an apk file for any Android application:

Please note that to install applications NOT from the Play Store, you will need to enable the “Unknown sources” option in the device security settings on Android.

  • To do this, open “Settings” of Android (Fig. 7),
  • in Settings we find the “System” tab (2 in Fig. 11),
  • and in the System open “Security” (3 in Fig. 11):
