Phone Supervisor

The phone was announced back in December 2013. It went on sale in early March 2012. In Russia, not all stores can now find this model. Most often it is presented in online stores. The lowest prices are now in Ukrainian stores. average price on this moment 12 thousand rubles. Which is not so little, but still competitive. The markup for the brand here is simply terrible. Also the phone (in terms of characteristics) is from Chinese manufacturer, for example, such as Lenovo, Zopo, ZTE would cost about 6000-8000 rubles. That is, the markup is only for the fact that it is approximately 100% Samsung. Of course, if you want brand and quality, then yes, I think you should buy this model. And if high performance is important to you, then I think you should look towards manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom. But I've gone too far from the phone itself. This review is for those who are planning to buy a phone from this manufacturer. By the way, I would like to note that this is not the first model to use mechanical buttons. Whether this is good or bad, of course, is up to you to decide. Personally, I don’t really like this idea; I will mention these buttons later and give reasons for my opinion. The body is made entirely of plastic. The quality of the plastic is not very good good quality. It is very unpleasant to the touch. It's probably worth starting with the back cover. It is made of plastic that is smooth to the touch. It is neither glossy nor matte. There are no fingerprints left on it, but even the shallowest scratches, small chips, and any mechanical damage in general are clearly visible. The edging is made of glossy silver plastic and I think it will peel off over time. All buttons are located in a standard manner, and, in my opinion, very convenient. On right side Just above the middle there is a power on and off button, and above the camera shutter button. Located on the left side double button volume adjustment. Overall, all buttons are very easy to reach. At the top end there is a hole for a second microphone and a standard headphone input. At the bottom end there is a speaker and a USB connector.
The front part is completely covered with glass or ordinary plastic, unfortunately I cannot understand this. If it is glass, then it performs its functions perfectly. To be honest, I never regret the phones I test, and sometimes I even deliberately try to damage either the display or the body. This time I carried the device in my pocket along with the keys, and at the end of the test I did not see a single scratch. Previously, regular glass was installed in Samsung smartphones, they were no worse, but small scratches were very noticeable, but now there is no such problem. Let's continue talking about the front part of the phone. Almost the entire area is occupied by the display; under it there are three mechanical buttons: “Application list”, “Home”, “Back”. In short, standard Android buttons. The frames on the sides of the display are very narrow, which visually makes the device smaller. On top we have: the earpiece, front camera, and sensors.
Mechanical buttons. I don't even know who this was made for. For me personally they are not very comfortable. Press hard, sometimes they don’t even work. Pressed with a characteristic sound. I'm even afraid that the images printed on the buttons may be erased over time. On the rear side everything is a little boring. In the middle in the center is the Samsung logo. Above is the camera module, to the left of it is the LED flash, and to the right of it is the external speaker. The Galaxy Core Advance itself is very large, dimensions 133.3x70.5 millimeters. The thickness of the case is only 9.7 millimeters, which is very small for such a price and for such dimensions. But the weight here is simply enormous - 145 grams, which is a lot; you can hold such a device suspended for a maximum of 10 minutes. At the ear, this time is generally reduced to 3-5 minutes. After the conversation, the hand simply “falls off.” It’s quite difficult to fit all this in your hand and often falls out. The buttons on the ends are located as standard. All of them are located on the right, at the top there are two buttons for increasing and decreasing the volume, just below there is a hardware button, which is designed to turn the power on and off. The build is generally good, but personally I don’t like everything. Of course, there are no backlashes or creaks, but the back cover bends in the area of the battery, even with light pressure I'm afraid that this cover will simply break.
There are headphones included, but personally they worked for me with varying degrees of success. Sometimes one ear just turned off, and the sound in general Low quality, noises were heard frequently. I tried to test the sound with my headphones and the quality suits me. Certainly high frequencies this is everyone's problem budget phones, and, of course, we couldn’t do without it. The external speaker is very loud, with such speakers it is simply theoretically impossible to miss a call. The speaker also screams, and it screams almost like a hefty speaker. When talking, the ear simply “withers” from loud sounds; very often you have to turn down the volume. The microphone is quite sensitive, but it feels like the noise suppression microphone doesn't work very well.
The screen is very large, but not the maximum for this price. But in terms of quality it is not very good, and even more likely not in terms of quality, but in terms of technical characteristics. Display diagonal - 4.7 inches. The matrix is made using TFT technology, which gives it additional brightness. Of course there is a lot of brightness, but the clarity is a little lacking. This screen has a resolution of 480x800 pixels. If we calculate the number of pixels per inch, then in our case we get 199 pixels. This is just a ridiculous number for 2014. Pixels are simply visible to the naked eye. Especially when watching videos in action scenes, there are only pixels everywhere. The matrix itself is covered with ordinary plastic. I also consider this a very strong problem. Now you can close the matrix even with the first version of the gorilla and the buyers will be very grateful to you for this. The quality of any picture in general leaves much to be desired, but is generally acceptable. Let it be even an ordinary picture, or a video, or any game. Everywhere the low number of pixels per inch fails. But okay, that was the only problem. There is also a problem with color rendering, it is frankly weak here, the colors are bright, but not natural, everything gives off warm shades. Plus, sometimes there is graininess. The viewing angles are not disappointing, the vertical ones are very decent, and the horizontal ones are just a dream. The brightness is certainly decent, it is enough even with a reserve in the bright sun. But, alas, the screen itself glares and reflects. It's fun to play games, of course. big screen and all that, but again the weight affects it. If, for example, you play racing games using a gyroscope, your hands will get tired instantly. And if you want to play around with angry birds, then the screen is perfect for this.
Well, now let's move on to the inside of the device. Galaxy Core Advance has dual core Qualcomm processor Snapdragon 400 MSM8230 with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM, which together provide the performance necessary for running demanding applications. In general, on paper everything is very good, you have a decently powerful processor and a good video card. But, in reality, everything seems to be fading away. Our hero can easily handle all applications and almost all games, but sometimes it is very clearly visible that the FPS in games sags, and sometimes very much; it often happens that it is simply impossible to play even the simplest games. It’s good that everything in the menu is quite good, the interface itself works without any complaints at all. There are no brakes, everything is smooth and even. There are no complaints about the interface at all. The only minus of the filling is the amount of RAM, well, 1 GB is not enough now, that’s not enough and that’s it. It would be optimal to install 1.5 or even 2 GB. Of course, I’m a realist and I understand that you can’t put that amount of memory in a smartphone for 10 thousand, but on the other hand, what is an extra 512 MB of RAM? Some 2-3 dollars. In short, if we talk about the internal part, then it is average, almost all games are available, and absolutely all applications. Its own memory is quite enough - 8 GB, but in addition to this there is a slot for a memory card. The device supports memory cards with a capacity of up to 64 GB inclusive.
The camera has a resolution of only 5 megapixels. For such a price this is certainly not normal. Compared to the general background, it looks simply terrible. There is a large screen and powerful hardware, and such a camera. The maximum photo size is 2592x1944 pixels. The quality is not very good. From useful functions There is: optical zoom, a fairly powerful LED flash and autofocus. There is also a front camera, it has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels. This is not much, but it’s enough for Skype calls. Video recording is not of very high quality.
The battery on paper is quite capacious - 2000 mAh. But for such a screen and hardware this is very little. Enough for about a day. And if he just lies there, then problems persist for two days. The smartphone charges from a wall outlet in about three hours.

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance is an improved version of the smartphone popular among young people. The device was first announced in December 2013 and the manufacturer positions it as full replacement predecessor. The device has become more attractive appearance and improved hardware, but first things first.

Appearance

Whatever one may say, but a new version Galaxy Core looks much more interesting and stylish. The case has become more austere, a texture has appeared on the back cover like the Galaxy S4, and hardware buttons have appeared below the screen. The smartphone looks like a cross between Note 3 and S4, and its body dimensions are 133.3 x 70.5 x 9.7 mm and weighs 145 grams.

As usual, the device will be produced in black (or rather gray) and white colors. Back cover Now it looks more strict and interesting, and the edging around the camera pleasantly emphasizes the style.

Characteristics

The smartphone has a dual-core processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz, as well as 1 GB of RAM. The built-in volume is 8 GB. Of course, there is support for microSD cards up to 64 GB. There are all possible communications here: Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 3G HSDPA, EDGE and others.

The camera in the Galaxy Core Advance has a 5 megapixel sensor, autofocus and LED flash. The battery capacity of the smartphone is 2000 mAh, which is very good for devices of this level. It is also worth noting the presence of FM radio, because in top-end devices, manufacturers are increasingly abandoning it in favor of Internet radio.

Screen
