HP LaserJet 3200 Diagnostics- this is work to identify faulty units, machine components, parts, or determine the amount of work needed to eliminate the malfunction, during which additional diagnostics may be required at the site of operation of the copier (MFP) or in a hospital. As a rule, this is the most difficult and responsible component of office equipment repair.

HP LaserJet 3200 Maintenance- standard work, the volume and frequency of which depends on the design of the device and is defined in the service documentation from the manufacturer. Prevention is not a repair procedure; it does not eliminate malfunctions caused by worn or damaged parts, blocks, or assemblies.

Work to troubleshoot a device with replacement of parts and disassembly of one or more components of the device.

MFP- multifunction device, which combines a fax, printer and scanner. This is extremely practical for modern offices where it is necessary to constantly process documents, as well as for home use. If you need to work exclusively with A4 sheet format, then the MFP is also extremely bargain purchase, because its cost is an order of magnitude lower than copying equipment.

Despite all the advantages of MFPs, their reliability and durability, such products can fail. There can be a large number of reasons for this]: non-compliance with operating rules, lack of proper care, wear and tear of consumables, manufacturing defects, long-term use of the device, etc.

The most common HP LaserJet 3200 failures

HP LaserJet 3200 won't turn on

In 90% of cases, this is a malfunction of the power supply or control module. Fix it yourself this problem difficult. A specialist visit is required.

The MFP does not scan, it says "scanner error"

When turned on, the device begins to check all its blocks in order to enter a ready state. Testing of the scanner assembly is carried out as follows: the lamp and optics system detect a white stripe (a special reference point) to check the performance of the scanning and reflective ability of the MFP to perceive reflected light. If the optics are dirty, the perceived brightness of the light reflected from these surfaces is reduced, making the device unable to detect white stripe and gives an error.

HP LaserJet 3200 does not pick up paper from the tray

There can be two reasons: a breakdown of the paper tray, or wear on the surface of the rubber roller responsible for feeding the paper. In both cases, replacement parts are necessary. It should also be noted that the rubber roller for feeding paper has a certain resource for each machine model. This information indicated, as a rule, either on the MFP itself or in technical documentation.

Breakdown of the "stove"

Almost every MFP has a thermal unit at the last stage of the printing process, the purpose of which is to bake the toner onto the paper. The thermal unit (stove) consists of two shafts:

teflon shaft - heats up to a high temperature and upon contact with paper melts the toner and “bakes” it into the paper. To prevent the paper with the image from sticking and wrapping around the shaft, separators are used - small “paws” that separate the paper from the Teflon shaft after thermal contact.

rubber shaft - presses the paper with toner to the Teflon roller.

Signs of a malfunctioning stove:

  1. The paper sheet comes out of the device with a characteristic rustling sound;
  2. The sheet may wrinkle (usually only one corner);
  3. The occurrence of duplicates of an image or text that should be printed;
  4. In the oven paper sheets start to get stuck, while the MFP displays a “Jam” error;
  5. Visible in the image vertical stripes, stains or smudging.

Very frequent malfunction stoves - this is a breakdown of one or more separators. This causes the paper to wrinkle and jam. The main reason for the breakdown is improper removal of paper jams (the user breaks the separators himself) and foreign objects entering the machine during printing (paper clips, etc.). Another malfunction is a breakdown of the heating lamp or temperature sensors. Repair will consist only of replacing them.

HP LaserJet 3200 prints black sheet

There is no clear reason for this phenomenon. A black sheet occurs due to a disruption in the image formation process. As a rule, this is a breakdown of components such as a developing unit (cartridge), a high-voltage unit, or a scanner. The first thing the user can do is change the cartridge. If this does not help, call a BESTCOM service center specialist.

The printed image is blurry and not clear

In this case, the problem may be a malfunction of the paper feed mechanism or a breakdown optical system HP LaserJet 3200 copier. To fix the problem, you need to replace the broken mechanism and clean the mirrors. But such work must be done extremely carefully, and it is better to entrust it to a specialist.

HP LaserJet 3200 picks up multiple sheets from the tray

In the paper feed tray of each MFP model there is a special separation platform to slow down sheets from a stack, because the gripping mechanism pulls in not one sheet, but several at once. However, the surface of the pad can wear off, causing the machine to pull in a large amount of paper (2-5 sheets). It is unlikely that such a problem will be prevented. The rubber from which the platform is made is consumables. To reduce the frequency of its replacement, you should purchase only high-quality paper.

"Paper jam" on the HP LaserJet 3200 MFP

The main reasons are:

contamination of opto-sensors due to the use of low-quality paper and the occurrence of paper dust

failure of the paper flow recorder flag when a paper jam is removed incorrectly by the user

To clean and replace the relevant spare parts, you must call a BESTCOM specialist

Selecting print media

In this section you will find information on the following topics:

Selecting print media

Print Selection

The company recommends using HP Multipurpose or HP Multipurpose paper, if available in your area (because these types of paper were specifically formulated for use with the product), or other paper that meets the specifications. You can also use 100% recycled fiber paper if it meets the requirements.

Printing on the canvas may be uneven. Very smooth paper may jam or reject ink. There may be jams or irregular media jams in the device. Also, poor quality paper, such as paper that has rips, wrinkles, or curled edges, may jam.

Avoid using envelopes that are too smooth, have self-adhesive areas, clasps, or clear windows. Also avoid using envelopes that have rough, irregular, or curled edges, or that have folds, tears, or other damage.

Use strong envelopes weighing approximately 7.25 to 12.25 kg. Envelopes should be carefully glued and folded tightly.

Media size

The paper input tray can hold up to 125 sheets of 75gsm paper. The page feed slot can accommodate one sheet. Both can be configured to accommodate media sizes ranging from 76.2 by 127 mm to 216 by 356 mm. This includes the following non-exhaustive list of sheet and envelope sizes:

Selecting items to fax, copy, or scan

The device can scan items of various sizes from 51 by 89 mm (business card size) to 215 by 356 mm, and can fax and copy items from 51 by 89 mm to 215 by 889 mm.

The device accepts thick paper, tissue paper, newsprint, magazine paper, transparencies, as well as photographs and other items in carrier sheets. In addition, rough papers are easier to scan than smooth papers. You can feed smooth paper into the printer, but it may not feed easily. For best results, feed smooth sheets one at a time with the special media adjuster set to the correct position.

To minimize the possibility of jams, follow these guidelines:

Remove self-adhesive tags.

Remove staples and paper clips.

Straighten out any kinks or wrinkles on documents before placing them in the document feed tray.

Do not insert any documents that have glue, correction fluid, or wet ink on them.

Do not insert paper or labels with adhesive backing.

Place documents with tears, perforations, or holes knocked out on a carrier sheet that you can buy or make yourself. (See Loading Special Items.)

Avoid using multiple forms when copying.

Load print media

Selecting the Paper Output Path

The procedure for downloading a document is the same whether you fax, copy, or scan. If your document is printed on normal weight paper (46 to 105 g/m2), see "To load standard print media." If your document is encased in a carrier sheet, printed on transparencies, or printed on non-regular paper, see Loading special items.

To load standard print media

1 Adjust the document feed tray adjusters to match the size of the item you are loading.

Place up to 30 pages in the document feeder top part forward, face down.

Loading special elements

When loading items to be faxed, copied, or scanned, you should protect small, fragile, light (lighter than 46 g/m2) items, and irregularly shaped items such as receipts, newspaper clippings, photographs, and old or worn documents.

1 Do one of the following:

Place the element on the carrier sheet. You can buy a carrier sheet or make your own by attaching clear film and a piece of paper along one of the short sides. Place the item you want to fax, copy, or scan on the carrier sheet and insert it into the document feed tray, stapled side first.

Using clear tape, adhere the front and back edges of the piece to a piece of letter or A4 size paper. If the item is not square or rectangular, attach all of its edges to the sheet.

If you are using a photocopier standard sizes, first make a copy of the item and then send it through the scanner.

2 Adjust the document feed tray adjusters to match the size of the item you are loading.

3 Locate the special media slider at the top of the control panel and slide it to the right.

Do not touch the control after the device has started sending the page for scanning.

4 Load paper one page at a time into the document feeder tray, top first, face down.

When loading a business card, insert it with the long edge first.

5 After feeding the special items, move the special media slider back to the left. When feeding a stack of standard sheets with the regulator set to the right, the sheets may go through several pieces and get stuck.

Loading items to print

Print media can be loaded into the paper input tray or the page feed slot.

At one time, you can load up to 125 sheets of 75 g/m2 paper into the paper input tray and one sheet into the page feed slot.

Insert all media vertically ( portrait orientation) into the paper feed tray or page feed slot. If you want to print the sheet horizontally (landscape orientation), change the appropriate settings in your program. Do not print on paper smaller than 76.2 *& 127

The product prints documents, makes copies, and makes printouts of received faxes using media from the paper input tray (or page feed slot).

To load paper into the input tray

1 Adjust the adjusters on the paper input tray to match the size of the media you are loading.

2 Load up to 125 sheets of paper into the paper input tray. Be careful not to overfill the tray.

When adding paper to an existing stack in the paper tray

feed, always remove all paper and align it with the new stack before loading to avoid multiple feeds or jams.

When loading specialty media, make sure the bottom paper output path is selected.

3 Level the stack by reinstalling the adjusters.

Using the Page Feed Slot

Using the page feed slot, you can print one sheet of media without using the paper feed tray. The product accepts media from the page feed slot before it accepts media from the paper input tray.

The page feed slot can be useful when the first page you print is different from the rest. For example, you may need to print the first page of your assignment on letterhead or print an envelope first.

For printing using the page feed slot

1 Adjust the page feed slot adjusters to approximately the size of the sheet you are using.

2 Place one sheet of media into the single-sheet feed slot. When loading specialty media or letterhead, insert the media with the top of the media facing forward.

3 Level the sheet by reinstalling the adjusters.

When loading specialty media, make sure that the bottom paper output path is selected.

Selecting the Paper Output Path

The output path selection determines whether printed media will come out of the paper input slot or the front paper output slot. Use the front paper output slot when printing on specialty media, such as 100 g/m2 or heavier paper, envelopes, transparencies, or labels. This will prevent the paper from wrinkling and curling.

To select the paper output path

To use the front paper output slot, make sure the front paper output cover is closed.

To prevent curling, use a straight paper path by opening the front paper exit cover. Any media coming out of the front output slot will be printed in reverse order.

To avoid paper jams, make sure that the front paper output slot is clear enough to allow media to exit freely, and that the front paper output cover is fully open.
