In addition to the usual graphic file formats (with jpg extension, png, bmp, etc.), which usually contain one page graphic file, there are also graphics file formats that support multi-page images. One of them is the format with the tiff extension ( TaggedImageFileFormat). Exists as a three-letter extension of this format file tif, and four-letter tiff. In fact, this is the same file format, which, being four-letter in the original, became three-letter because the early Windows versions It was a mandatory requirement that all file extensions of this operating system were three digits.

At work, I sometimes need to collect several graphic files into one file, for example, when I scan several pages of one common document(protocols, acts, etc.). In this case, you need to combine these scanned pages into one multi-page graphic file, and then send this file to all protocol participants for review and work. And sending them many files of individual protocol pages is not the best solution.

Also, sometimes it is necessary to scan a few pages of a book, or a small brochure, and then combine all these separate files pages into one file on your computer. To solve such problems, I usually use a small but very powerful and convenient program IrfanView. I have already briefly described its capabilities in the article

Downloading and installing IrfanView

IrfanView is free graphics program, small in size but with very powerful functionality. Considering that it also supports the Russian language, it has become for me one of the most necessary on the computer for viewing and editing photos. In fact, in symbiosis with the built-in Windows Paint, this is a small analogue of Photoshop.

You can download IrfanView from the official website of this program, or you can download version 4.38 from the direct link:

If you chose the first method, then on the official website click on the link indicated in the screenshot below (the site is in English, so I showed below how to download the latest version of the program):

You will be taken to the program download page, where you need to click the big green “Download Now” button.

After downloading, install the program (just click “Next” or “Next” when prompted to install the program). The program icon resembles a red, sprawled cat:

Russification of the IrfanView program

The Russian language for the program interface can be downloaded from the same site, in the left menu “IrfanView languages”

Then we find the Russian language in the list and download Installer:

Then we install the downloaded file, and IrfanView becomes a program in Russian, as shown below.

If for some reason the program does not switch to Russian automatically, then go to the “Options” menu, then “Change language”, and then select the Russian language, and click “OK”:

Creating a multi-page tif file

So, the program is installed, Russified, and now you can proceed directly to creating a multi-page tif file consisting of several consecutive images.

I have seven pages of a brochure I just scanned that I need to condense into one graphic tif file. For now they are all located separately and look like this:

Open IrfanView, go to the “Tools” menu item, then “Multi-page images”, then “Create a multi-page TIFF file”:

A new window will open in which we will create our multi-page tiff from our individual files.

Click on the top right button “Add images”, find and select with the mouse all the files that we need to combine (in our example these are 7 files), it is advisable to first number these files in the correct sequence so that in the created multi-page file they go in the correct ok. After adding these files, they look like this:

Next, use the “Browse” button to specify the folder to save created file, and below we can immediately set the name of the resulting file (just do not change the tif extension). You can also use the ability to sort the source files, but if you initially numbered them correctly, then this is not necessary.

After all the preparations, click the “Create TIF file” button at the bottom left:

As a result, you create a multi-page tif file (in our example, a seven-page “Brochure.tif” file was created).

We open the resulting file “Brochure.tif”, and see that it contains exactly 7 pages. You can turn the pages of a multi-page file either using the buttons indicated in the screenshot below, or using the key combinations “Ctrl” + “Page Down” (next page), or “Ctrl” + “Page Up” (previous page).

So, today we downloaded and installed the wonderful IrfanView program, Russified it, and also learned how to create multi-page tiff files. If you have additional questions, please ask them in the comments.

If the .BW file is known to your system, then you can open it by double-clicking the mouse or pressing ENTER. This operation will launch applications associated with the .BW file installed on the system. If the system encounters a file for the first time and there are no corresponding associations, the action will end with the system prompting you to find the appropriate software on your computer or on the Internet.

Sometimes it happens that the wrong program is assigned to serve the .BW file type. This happens due to the action of hostile programs such as viruses or malware, but most often this is the result of an erroneous combination of the application with the .BW file extension. If, when servicing a new .BW file type, we specify the wrong program to the system, the system will erroneously recommend its use whenever a file of this type is encountered. In this case, you should try to select the appropriate application again. Right-click on the .BW file, and then select from the menu the option "Open With..." and then "Choose default program". Now select one of the installed applications from the above list and try again.

Programs that will open the .BW file

Manual editing of the Windows Registry

If our system cannot cope with the .BW extension and all the automatic and semi-automatic methods of teaching it this art have failed, manual editing remains Windows registry. This registry stores all information related to the operation of our operating system, including the connection of file extensions with programs for servicing them. Team REGEDIT inscribed in the window “search for programs and files” or "launch in the case of older versions of the operating system, it gives us access to the registry of our operating system. All operations performed in the registry (even not very complex ones regarding the .BW file extension) have a significant impact on the operation of our system, so before making any modifications, you should make sure that a copy of the current registry is made. The section we are interested in is the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. The following instructions show, step by step, how to modify the registry, specifically the registry entry containing information about the .BW file.

Step by step

  • Click “start” button
  • In the “find programs and files” window (in older versions Windows systems this is the “Run” window, enter the command “regedit” and then confirm the operation with the “ENTER” key. This operation will launch the system registry editor. This tool will not only allow you to view existing records, but also modify, add or remove them manually. Due to the fact that the Windows registry is key to its operation, all operations carried out on it should be performed judiciously and consciously. Carelessly removing or modifying an inappropriate key may permanently damage the operating system.
  • Using the ctr+F key combination or the Edit menu and the “Find” option, find the .BW extension you are interested in by entering it in the search engine window. Confirm by pressing OK or using the ENTER key.
  • Backup copy. It is extremely important to create a backup copy of the registry before making any changes to it. Every change has an impact on the operation of our computer. In extreme cases, erroneous modification of the registry may result in the system being unable to restart.
  • The value you are interested in regarding the extension can be manually edited by changing the keys assigned to the found extension.BW. In this place, you can also independently create the desired entry with the extension a.BW if it is not in the registry. All available options are in the handy menu ( right button mouse) or in the "Edit" menu after placing the cursor in the appropriate place on the screen.
  • After you finish editing the entry for the .BW extension, close system registry. The introduced changes will take effect after restarting the operating system.

Multi-page scanned documents are often saved to PDF format. Such a document is then difficult to edit, for example, to remove artifacts, adjust the balance of brightness, color, and the like. It is much more practical to store such files in the original graphics file format, such as TIFF. Moreover, instead of dozens of files for each individual page, you can also get one single TIFF file. To do this, you need to create a multi-page TIFF file.

To combine many images in one file, it is convenient to use the photo viewer IrfanViewer. Compared to other utilities such as ACDSee, Picasa, FastStone Image Viewer etc., IrfanViewer has many advantages. Firstly, it is very small - less than 10 megabytes. Therefore, it works quickly on any PC. It has rich capabilities - it has almost all the tools graphic editor, except for drawing functions. In it you can edit the color balance, apply effects, change the scale, adjust individual color channels and much more. Automatic image enhancement functions are also available - IrfanViewer will select the desired brightness and contrast. The program can also take screenshots (either by pressing a button or automatically), as well as perform batch actions on many files.

To create a multi-page TIFF, go to the Tools menu and expand the Multi-Page Images submenu. Click on the “Create multi-page TIFF file” button.

In the window that appears, select the files you want to merge and specify additional parameters. In this window you can perform basic image processing, for example, convert color scanned copies to grayscale, adjust compression for a smaller source file size, and the like.

The pages in a multipage TIFF are displayed in the same order as they appear in the Create Multipage TIFF window. You can choose standard sorting - by date, by name, by size, and the like. And then manually move files using the “Above” and “Lower” buttons.

I am an individual entrepreneur. My small company is engaged in the development and production of electronics. It is not yet possible to employ a full-time accountant, so I resolve the relevant issues myself.

However, the solution to one issue took me six months.

The fact is that when registering an individual entrepreneur, I chose several economic activity codes (OKVED), among which was the production of electrical equipment, development software and some more from related industries. And there was also code 52.6.2 “Retail trade carried out through teleshopping and computer networks(electronic commerce, including the Internet)”, because I have my own website and an online store is implemented there. When I registered, I did not know that among these codes there was a so-called main one, which, by some coincidence, became 52.6.2.

Honestly, I never paid any attention to this until I decided to participate in a competition to receive government subsidies. When I came to the department for entrepreneurship and small business in our city and told them about the profile of my activities, they immediately told me that the likelihood of receiving subsidies was quite high, because first of all they are given to production workers. However, they were very surprised by the fact that in my extract from the Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs, which I brought, the main activity is trade. I was told that I urgently needed to change the type of activity, because the competition was undergoing a formal check and otherwise I would simply fail in it.

I arrived at the office, went online and began to figure out how to change these codes. It turned out that everything is very simple and you need to fill out a simple form (P24001) of only four pages.

I have a subscription to the electronic document management system SBiS++, I quickly found the required form there, filled it out and clicked the “Submit” button, and then...

The program wrote to me that this particular form cannot be sent electronically and that I have to go to the tax office myself. Okay, I decided, I'll take a walk.

I came to my tax office and here was another gift - they don’t accept exactly these forms!!! And you have to go to another tax office, which serves the entire city for such things.

Okay, I went there, honestly sat for two hours, maybe more, and handed in this form.

Ten days later I receive a notification by mail that my registration was denied because the form was filled out incorrectly! What could be wrong there, if only my full name is there? and digital codes?! So it was the codes themselves that were incorrect.

It turns out that when I registered in 2011, some OKVED codes were three-digit, for example, 72.2 “Software development and consulting in this area.” And then this classifier was redesigned and the codes began to have at least four digits, that is, you must indicate 72.20 (with a zero at the end!!!).

I, of course, got angry, but there was nothing I could do, I corrected the form and went back to the tax office. After sitting there for three hours, I still didn’t have time to hand it in, since there were so many people. The next day another disappointment awaited me. I ordered a tax certificate about the absence of debt, and there I had a debt of 6 kopecks. In general, I no longer had time for the competition and as a result gave up on it.

Six months have passed and even a little more, and then one day I receive another small portion of letters via the SBS++ system, among which there is one that says something about a personal account on the tax office website for individual entrepreneurs.

I've been using it for a long time personal account as an individual, and I must say it was done quite comfortably there. Out of curiosity, I registered in the account for individual entrepreneurs. I go to home page and I see the “Services” section, where the first item is “Making changes to the Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs”. Wow, I thought, and clicked the mouse there.

Opened new page With step by step instructions from three points:

  • Preparing your application (suggest using their free program)
  • Submitting an application via the website
  • The reply is in process

Everything seems simple...

I downloaded the program, filled out the form I needed and clicked the “Generate package” button. And then an interesting window opens:

In it you need to select the desired tax office (this is understandable), and also indicate the file of the application itself. This seemed strange to me, because, as a rule, all documents are transferred to XML format, and the program has already generated them. And here you need another file in one of three formats(*.doc, *.docx, *.xls, *.xlsx, *.tiff).

I indicate the received TIFF in the program and immediately receive another message about the need to sign it with an electronic digital signature (EDS).

I have two digital signature keys, one from SBS++, the second from Internet Banking. The program agreed to sign the file with any of them without any problems. If I understand correctly, this program requires CryptoPRO. On another computer, where CryptoPRO was not installed, the program displayed an error.

So, I used the key from SBiS++, after which the program generated a package for me in the form of a ZIP archive, and I successfully sent it through the tax website.

A couple of hours later I received a confirmation email e-mail, that a statement signed with such and such a signature has been received from me.
Well, I think it's great. There is no need to go anywhere; in a week the documents will be ready. But it was not there! A week later I receive a letter that my registration was denied!!! Why? Wrong codes again? No, the codes are correct!

It turns out that on last page no my full name and signatures!!! This is such nonsense! I sign a document with an electronic signature, but they tell me that I need a handwritten signature!

I provide the full answer below:

Among those presented for state registration no documents:
THE PACKAGE OF DOCUMENTS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS INSTALLED
ART.22.2 of FEDERAL LAW No. 129-FZ, T.K. THE APPLICATION ON FORM P24001 IS NOT PROPERLY FORMED.
SECTION 1 OF SHEET G. IS NOT COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CLAUSE 15.11 OF THE REQUIREMENTS, IN SECTION 1 AN INDIVIDUAL PERSON REGISTERED AS AN INDIVIDUAL ENTREPRENEUR INDICATES HIS FIRST NAME, FIRST NAME IN THE APPROPRIATE LINE , PATERNICAL (IF AVAILABLE) IN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE. IN THE CASE OF SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION TO THE REGISTRATION AUTHORITY BY AN INDIVIDUALS REGISTERED AS AN INDIVIDUAL ENTREPRENEUR, THE SPECIFIED INDIVIDUALS (APPLICANT) PUT HIS SIGNATURE IN THE APPROPRIATE LINE.
THUS, ACCORDING TO PP. A P. 1 ST. 23 OF FEDERAL LAW No. 129-FZ OF 08.08.2001. PROVISIONS FOR REFUSAL OF STATE REGISTRATION

I thought a little and did the following.

Firstly, I wrote an appeal to the tax office asking them to explain to me the reason for the refusal and the meaning of a handwritten signature, which cannot be in an electronic document. And its necessity is absurd, because there is an electronic digital signature. I send similar documents via SbiS++ and there are no problems. Unfortunately, I have not yet received a response to this request, although 12 calendar days have already passed.

Secondly, I sent the documents a second time, but first I printed the form on a printer, wrote my full name in my own hand. and signed. After that, I scanned it, generated a multi-page TIFF and sent it again to the tax office.

And what do you think? A week later I receive a notification that changes have been made, along with it electronic versions documents. And it also says that the originals were sent to me by regular mail!

That's it!

UPDATE
I received a response to my request from the tax office. He made several points clear:

1. Interdistrict Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service of Russia No. 2 for the Ryazan region performs the functions of the Unified Registration Center. Therefore, regarding changes to the Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs, regardless of the place of registration, you must contact this tax office.

2. According to clause 9 of the requirements for the execution of electronic documents sent to the registration authority, approved by order dated August 12, 2011 No. YAK-7-6/489 “On approval of the Procedure for sending to the registering authority during state registration of legal entities, peasant (farmer) ) farms and individuals as individual entrepreneurs of electronic documents using public information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet, including a single portal of state and municipal services", electronic documents are sent to the registration authority in the form of files with images of documents scanned from paper media, issued in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation.

I looked at this order, it really does have all this and, moreover, even scan parameters are given:

Documents containing multiple sheets are scanned into one file.
10. Scanning of document images is carried out taking into account the following requirements:
  1. Image format: BW
  2. resolution: 300*300 dpi
  3. color depth: 1 bit
  4. finished file format: multi-page TIF

Now at least almost everything has become clear. The only thing that is not clear is why it was impossible to immediately indicate this order on the tax website. And why in the refusal that I received from the tax office after the first attempt, there was not a word about this order either.

Good day, dear Clerks!
2 weeks ago we decided to change our legal address (well, you know: if you don’t change it to your actual one in thirty days, they’ll liquidate you and they won’t see that you’re alive). Two weeks of ordeals with documents. Unsuccessfully.
Look here: to change your legal address, you need to fill out form 13001 + a set of documents. Yeah, I figured it out.
I wanted to send to in electronic format, but Comita is not on the list of 15 tax authorities at all! I can send it to any tax office, but at 15 (registration of a legal entity) - no. They explain that it does not accept electronic documents and electronic communication with them is not established. (The tax office nevertheless reports over the phone that they have established electronic communication, “perhaps there is a problem on your server”).
Well, OK. I come to the 15th tax office in St. Petersburg, which is in the UCD with my feet. Refusal to accept documents. “Do it differently, have it certified by a notary, fill it out in block letters with a black pen, you need to stitch it…”
Explain to me: what difference does it make which pen to fill out? Block letters or not so much? Why do I need a notary if I’m standing here with my passport?.. I ask: “How does this correlate with the law on the deadline for filing an application with the tax office within 3 days from the date of the decision?” They answer: “Our lawyers don’t look at this so strictly”...
OK. Attempt number two. I go to the notary, which is in the same corridor as the tax office (all in black pen!). Closed. "Notary on a transaction." Attempt number three - the same story. I find another notary office - in the same ECD. They don’t accept: “You have it stitched, but we have to stitch it.” “Okay,” I say. “Let’s get it out, you’ll print out the last sheet of this form for me, and I’ll sign it.” “No,” they answer. “We cannot do this.”
What??? Why??? What's difficult? The notary in the ECD does not have a state registration form? (Yes, and I pay for parking every time, besides killing time in lines.)
Attempt number four is electronic again. Based on a recommendation, I contacted VLSI - an excellent service for electronic document management. 15 IFTS is on the list. I talked to the employees: it should go. I asked for the bill. I paid the bill. Connected. I wrote a letter in 5 minutes, attached documents, and sent it. Error! "The specified inspection is disabled"...
And this is not counting the parallel existence of TWO forms 13001, which one to fill out is unclear.
On the Federal Tax Service website there is a bunch of something that is designated as " electronic services" - but how to connect to all this? (“Install this, install that, only this program, turn on the checkbox... Well, it’s about the same as when I registered on the Ministry of Finance website in the fall, only these don’t even have a support service!) And The main thing is that there is such a wonderful list of the form in which registration documents should be sent - delight!
Here, for example, is pearl:
"2.1. Electronic documents are sent to the tax authority in the form of files with images of documents scanned from paper media, drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Documents containing multiple sheets are scanned into one file.
Scanning of document images is carried out taking into account the following requirements:
image format: BW;
resolution: 300*300dpi;
color depth: 1 bit (black and white);
finished file format: multi-page TIF."
Guys, I’ve been in the printing industry for many years! Why do they need a resolution of 300 dpi, which are needed only for offset printing? What is the super popular BW image format? Does every accountant and manager have Adobe Photoshop installed on their computer (by the way, it has a rather expensive license) and enough design qualifications to assemble the finished files into a multi-page tif?

Gentlemen, tell me, what's funny?
Do small businesses just want to close down the whole business in one day? Or is there something else wrong?
