Note : The overwrite mode when restoring data means that all objects will be restored from the backup copy, regardless of whether they are in the system at the time of restoration. Overwrite mode works as follows:

    • If the object or settings from the backup file are not in Parallels Plesk Panel, they will be created and installed in Parallels Plesk Panel.
    • If an object or settings from a backup file is present in Parallels Plesk Panel, then the object or settings from the backup will replace the corresponding object or settings present in Parallels Plesk Panel.
    • If an object or settings are present in Parallels Plesk Panel, but not in the backup file, then the object or settings present in Parallels Plesk Panel will not be changed.

You can select the path for the backup database, for example, in httpsdocs (the root is not writable):
/home/vhosts/your_domain/httpsdocs/backup

* When this option is enabled, the domain will be unblocked within an hour. Not recommended for use, because If there are warnings during the archiving process, automatic unlocking may not occur.

Please note that user backups created by the Client are included in the disk quota (disk space). System backups are not included in the quota.

Regularly backing up your data on your iPhone or iPad helps protect it. But in addition to starting the backup process, you also need to know exactly how to restore information in right moment. Fortunately, restoring a backup is a fairly simple process.

When backing up a device, the user has two options: Perform on a computer. Depending on the method you choose, the method for restoring backup copies will also vary. Let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of both methods of restoring your iPhone.

Is it better to restore a backup from iTunes to your computer or over the air from iCloud?

Let's imagine an ideal situation - there is a backup copy in both iCloud and iTunes. Detailed instructions about backing up your iPhone or iPad to iTunes and iCloud is posted. Here we will only briefly recall how this is done:

iCloud backups can be included in the section Settings →<Ваше имя> → iCloud→ Backup toiCloud. Data will begin to be saved to the cloud via Wi-Fi from a device connected to the power adapter and in standby mode (when the user is not using the device). And since the backup copy will be stored on the Internet, it will have to be restored using the Internet.

Reserve iTunes copies created automatically or manually after connecting the iPhone or iPad to Windows computer or Mac with iTunes installed (you can download). Click on the icon of the connected device, select the tab "Review" and click on the button "Create a copy now". iTunes backups will be stored locally on your computer.

In most cases, the more recent the backup, the better. For example, if you change your old iPhone to the new one, connect the old device to a computer with iTunes installed, back it up, and then restore the data to the new device using the backup you just created.

Important! You can install a backup stored in iTunes to the working (used) device(i.e. with existing data, including photos, music, applications, etc.), while restoring a backup from iCloud is possible only for clean iPhone or iPad (new or ). Only in this case will you have access to the cloud recovery option.

How long does it take to restore an iPhone or iPad from a backup?

To answer this question, you first need to decide on the backup storage method to use. iPhone recovery or iPad from iTunes will be much faster, since the device is backed up locally and does not depend on the speed of Internet access. Typically, restoring a backup from iTunes takes 10-30 minutes. In some cases the process may take longer.

Please note that after restoring your iPhone or iPad backup from iTunes applications and other data from iCloud will still require downloading. This process will also take some time. It depends directly on the number of installed applications.

In turn, trying to recover your data from iCloud will take much longer. The initial restore procedure will take as long as it takes to download a backup from the Internet, and the device itself will require additional time to unpack the downloaded package and restore from it.

Personal experience suggests that a slow Internet connection can drag out the iCloud recovery process for several hours. If there is enough fast Wi-Fi The data loads much faster, but ultimately it all depends on the size of the backup.

Updating the software as a first step ha

Before you begin any important activity with iOS, you should always make sure that you have the latest version of the operating system installed. Having the latest iOS and iTunes releases will help ensure that everything goes as planned during the recovery process.

Old versions of backups can be restored to an iPhone or iPad with new versions of iOS, but it will not be possible to deploy backups made in the latest versions of the operating system to a device with old version operating system.

It's best to install it on your new iPhone the latest iOS version and not worry about the prospects of losing some data due to failures in the recovery process.

When restoring a backup when iTunes Help on the computer, update iTunes for Mac. To do this, start your Mac App Store and check for available updates. On Windows: Launch iTunes for Windows and navigate to Help → Updates and follow the instructions.

When restoring a backup from iCloud, update iOS on your device: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch follow the path Settings → General → Software Update and click on the button "Install" or "Download and install".

Locally saved backups can take up a lot of disk space on your computer. To view and delete unnecessary copies, open iTunes and go to Settings.

1. Launch iTunes program for Mac or Windows.

2. Connect the device using a cable.

3. Click on the device icon that appears.

4. On the tab "Review" click on the button "Restore from copy" and then from the proposed list of previously created copies, select the one that is required for subsequent deployment.

5. Wait until the process completes before disconnecting the device from the computer.

Note. iTunes backups can also be stored elsewhere, such as on an external drive or online. In this case, you should make sure that this storage is visible on your computer before initiating the recovery process via iTunes.

Saved in the cloud Apple service backups can take up a lot of space. To view and delete unnecessary copies, open standard iOS application Settings and follow the path <Ваше имя> .

The devices and the backups available for them will be listed here. Select an unnecessary copy and at the very bottom of the screen click the button Delete copy.

How to choose apps for iCloud backup on iPhone and iPad

Open the application Settings on your iPhone or iPad and follow the path <Ваше имя>→ iCloud → Storage Management → Backups. Select the backup of the device where you want to disable saving some app data.

Click the button "Show all programs" and turn off saving for programs that you don't want backed up to iCloud.

In the pop-up window that appears, click "Turn off and delete".

To significantly reduce the size of the backup stored in iCloud, you can, for example, turn off Photo library, and as a backup tool for storing photos and videos, switch to unlimited free storage Google Photos(). In this case, it makes sense to use iCloud backups as a tool for storing system and application data.

In one of the recent articles on the site, we, friends, looked at a method Windows recovery from a backup to another computer using software Acronis. And to adapt the operating system to the new hardware, they used . In this article we will again talk about transferring the operating system to another PC or laptop, and again about Universal Restore technology, but only from a different developer company - AOMEI. So, how to preserve the established system when “moving” to another hardware? Below, using AOMEI Backupper, we will create a backup current Windows, let's deploy it on another computer and apply Universal Restore technology.

About technology

AOMEI Universal Restore is a technology the essence of which is to unlink components drivers during the Windows recovery stage. Designed for:

Deploying the system on many corporate devices;

Replacement of individual components that may cause blue screen death (usually motherboards, processors, RAM);

Transfer working system– with settings, programs, profile and personal data - to another computer.

Universal Restore from AOMEI is simpler than its counterpart from Acronis. While the latter is a mechanism for installing drivers for new components, AOMEI's Universal Restore only ensures that the drivers of the operating system restored from a backup are reset. And Windows, in theory, should install everything it needs when it first starts. Which developer's technology is better? In most cases, you can get by using the simplified Universal Restore from AOMEI. But Acronis technology still has a better chance of running a system restored from a non-native backup in in some cases. Due to the fact that Acronis Universal Restore can implement drivers up to Windows startup, it can be transferred between devices with different controllers hard drives. And, as you know, when changing such controllers, the system has not yet learned to change drivers without reinstalling.

  • Note : friends, neither the Universal Restore technology from AOMEI, nor that from Acronis, nor the standard utility for decoupling Windows from hardware Sysprep will help if operating system need to be transferred from an MBR disk to a GPT disk and vice versa. Since this question lies in the area of disk space layout and affects aspects of system boot.

AOMEI Universal Restore is available in the paid editions of AOMEI Backupper – Professional, Server and Technician.

https://www.backup-utility.com/downloads.html

But, friends, trials are not suitable for using Universal Restore; you will need a full-featured edition of one of these releases. I will be working with AOMEI Backupper Professional. By the way, you can Russify the program. Inside AOMEI Backupper Professional we will create bootable media. And with his participation we will carry out the tasks set in the article.

Creating bootable media

Go to the “Utilities” section of the program. Click on the item “Create bootable media».

Select the WinPE environment.

We select the media type depending on the BIOS mode - UEFI or regular.

We choose how to create the media - write to optical disk, to a flash drive or save in ISO image. Here, friends, please note that you can add drivers to the media software, for example, for USB 3.0 ports or for the network, if you use network storage to store the backup copy.

Backup on the source computer

You can back up Windows on the source computer using installed program AOMEI Backupper and from bootable media. But last method takes a little less time due to the full transfer of the high-speed potential of data recording by hard drives to the backup process. Well, let's get started. We connect to the source computer from which Windows needs to be transferred a capacious flash drive, USB-HDD, or other type of storage device. If both the source and target computers are PC builds, the backup can be stored on the internal hard drive of the former. And then, while restoring the backup, connect this HDD to the second, target computer. Friends, who do not know how to connect internal hard disks PC, see this article.

Loading source computer from AOMEI Backupper media, if a backup method using it is selected. Let's create a new backup.

Click “System Backup”.

Specify the path to the backup storage - to a flash drive, internal, external or network drives. Important: the path must be either the root of the disk or folders with names in Latin.

Let's start creating a backup.

Restoring Windows on the target computer

We confirm AOMEI's guess that a backup copy of the operating system has been selected.

iPhone owners have to deal with the situation of restoring a backup. You can save music, movies, books, TV shows, contacts, programs, photos, and so on. In a word, almost all the information that your iPhone stores. Most data is backed up to iCloud and iTunes. How to restore a backup copy of iPhone, and will be discussed in this article. But some may not even know how to create it. Therefore, we will talk about both creating and restoring an iCloud and iTunes backup.

Backup to iCloud

In order to create a backup, you need to go to “Settings / iCloud / Copy to iCloud (enable)”. And that’s it, after the backup function is enabled, it will happen every day, but only under the following conditions:

  • There is an Internet connection via Wi-Fi
  • Screen is locked
  • Is on charge, that is, there is a connection to a power source

You can create a backup manually. To do this, you will need to connect your device to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Next, you need to go to “Settings / iCloud / Storage & Backups”, then select “Create a copy”. Please note that iCloud only works with devices starting with iOS 5.

Restore from iCloud backup

In order to restore an iPhone from an iCloud backup, you need to do the following:

  • After you start working with your new iOS 5 device, an assistant appears.
  • You should select "Recover from iCloud copies" and then enter your iCloud account name and password.
  • In the list that appears, from the 3 latest backups, you must select the one that will be restored.
  • The previous settings will be restored immediately after the system is restarted. Your files will begin downloading. To find out if the recovery is complete, go to “Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backups.”

Backup to iTunes

You can back up devices in iTunes in 2 cases. Firstly, during synchronization with iTunes. It should be remembered that the function is disabled if the backup is in iCloud. Secondly, when you press either right click mouse, or left with the Control key on the very name of the iOS device in iTunes, and then select the “Create a backup copy” item.

If you need to create a manual backup for your iPhone or other iOS device, you can do it as follows:

  • Connect the device to the computer. It should be remembered that you must stand latest version iTunes programs.
  • Go to the “Devices” tab and select the desired device.
  • Next, you should either right-click or left-click with the Control key on the device name itself and select “Create a backup copy.”

Restoring from a backup in iTunes

Now we come to the question of how to restore from an iTunes backup. To restore information, you need to connect the device to personal computer. It should be noted that the connection is required exactly to the PC on which this iPhone or other iOS device is usually synchronized, after which the following steps are performed:

  • Connect iPhone to PC and launch iTunes
  • In the sidebar, right-click on the iPhone and click “Restore from backup.”
  • In the list that opens, select the required backup copy.
  • Click "Restore".

For the information of users of jailbroken devices, it can be said that during the process of restoring calendars, SMS, notes, contacts and settings on the iPhone, the device’s firmware is not affected, much less the iPhone’s factory settings are not returned. Therefore, they can use the restore function from an iTunes backup with peace of mind.

So we finished the conversation about restoring from an iPhone backup. Remember that regularly creating backups reduces the likelihood of data loss and helps restore information in the event of loss of your iPhone. This will allow you to avoid problems with data loss. We wish you good luck!

If you do not use Exiland Backup but simply

This section describes how you can make restoring from backup, created earlier using Exiland Backup, those files that were lost for some reason.

After backups are created, they appear in the list of backups in the "Created backups" tab for each selected job, except for jobs with the "Synchronization" type.

The 1st column displays the full path on the disk where the main backup is located.

If the backup was saved to several locations, you can expand the node by clicking on the “+” on the left to view records about other (non-primary) backup locations. Other columns in the list display the parameters of the created backups. The parameters are displayed only for the main backup; for the rest, the parameters are the same.

For each selected backup, the following operations can be performed:

  • viewing with the ability to restore files from backup
  • go to magazine
  • deletion
  • checking for backups on disk

Restoring files from a backup

To view a backup copy, while on the "Created Backups" tab, double-click on the backup copy in the list or click "View". The backup will be logged in and a window will appear with a list of files inside the backup. You can navigate through the folders inside the backup as usual Windows Explorer or file manager.

The list of skipped files, as well as the reason for the unsuccessful copying of each file, can be found by clicking on the "View" button located to the right of the number of skipped files.

To restore from a backup the files/folders you need, check them, then click on the "Recover" button at the bottom and select the location to restore:

  • to the specified folder...
  • to original location

After selecting a folder, the backup will be accessed with the same parameters with which the backup was created, and the files will be copied. If a backup is not available, an error message will be displayed.

It is also possible to restore files from ZIP archives using the Pkunzip, WinZIP, and WinRAR utilities.

Go to magazine

By clicking on the corresponding button located below the list of backups, you can view exactly the log entry that relates directly to the selected backup.

Removal

When you delete backups from the disk, they will also be deleted from all places where they were saved/duplicated.

If necessary, you can delete backups only from the list, leaving them on the disk.

If, when deleting backups, they are not available on disk, they will be deleted only from the list.

Checking for backups on disk

Exiland Backup maintains a list of created backups, which must correspond to the actual location of the backups on the disk. However, the backups shown in the list may not be available.

Reasons for unavailability of backups:

  • the path to the backup folder has been changed (the folder has been renamed or moved to another location, the drive letter has been changed)
  • the access parameters to the backup folder were changed (login, password, server name changed)
  • and etc.

To check compliance, select the job and click the "Check" button on the "Backups Created" tab.

After checking, the result will be displayed:

  1. all backups are available on disk
    or
  2. there are unavailable backups

In case (2), a warning message will appear at the bottom and you will be asked to either remove unavailable copies from the list or specify a new location. To specify a new location for backups, you must select the folder in which the program will try to find backups. After detecting backups in the specified location, you must save the result by clicking on the "OK" button.
