Xiaomi Mi6 and Meizu Pro 7 – the best flagships in manufacturers’ lines at the beginning of 2018. Both phones are based on cool mobile processors, equipped with TOP cameras and screens. Which one is better? ‒ actual question, let's try to answer it.

Xiaomi Mi6

Comparison of characteristics

In the table we indicate the main parameters of both phones for clarity.

At approximately the same price, the flagships have different characteristics. The obvious differences are in the screen and processor. Meizu also uses a cool audio chip and additional screen on the back side - Xiaomi cannot boast of this. But he got more random access memory and battery. There are differences in the cameras – below we present photos taken on both smartphones. Let's start the comparison with the most significant difference - the central processor.

Comparison: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 vs Mediatek Helio P25

Qualcomm and Mediatek are competing brands. Xiaomi, Google, OnePlus and even Samsung use Snadpragon chips in their phones, while Metiatek processors are mainly purchased by Meizu. They are also used in other smartphones from lesser-known brands. It is believed that chips from Qualcomm are better.

Snapdragon 835 is the company’s latest processor at the beginning of 2018. It is created using a 10nm process technology and has the following characteristics:

  1. 8 Kryo 280 cores with a frequency of 2.45 and 1.9 GHz.
  2. Dual-channel LPDDR4X 1866 GHz memory.
  3. Adreno 540 graphics core with a frequency of 710 MHz.
  4. Dedicated Hexagon 682 DSP.
  5. Separate chip to support Specrta 180 ISP dual camera.
  6. Record video in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
  7. Support for 4K displays.
  8. Built-in LTE Cat.16 modem providing data transfer speeds up to 1 Gbps. Unfortunately, in Russia there are no networks that could provide such speed.
  9. Fast charging Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0 (more on this). According to the manufacturer, the technology allows you to charge your phone up to 50% in 15 minutes.
  10. Performance in Antutu on Xiaomi Mi6 – 181118 points. This is a record among Android platforms.

The Helio P25 used in Meizu Pro 7 was introduced at the beginning of 2017. At that time it was a flagship, but today its characteristics are much inferior to TOP chips, including the 835th “snap”. Its parameters:

  1. 16nm technical process (10nm from a competitor).
  2. 8 energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores (versus 8 high-performance ones for the Snapdragon 835).
  3. Supports LPDDR4 1.6 GHz.
  4. Built-in graphics ARM Mali T-880 MP2 with a frequency of 900 MHz.
  5. ISP chip to support dual camera.
  6. Supports FullHD displays with a maximum frame rate of up to 30 per second.
  7. Capable of recording video in 4K resolution at 30 FPS (the 835th snap in this resolution can record video at 60 FPS).
  8. Built-in LTE Cat.6 modem (vs. LTE Cat.16).
  9. Fast charging technology is supported.
  10. The test result in the Antutu benchmark is 67521 points.

It is obvious that Xiaomi Mi6 is superior to its competitor in terms of performance. His Snapdragon processor 835 is head and shoulders above the weak Helio P25. However, it is worth recalling that the flagship Meizu Pro 6 plus (older version) received a more powerful 10-core Helio X30, which can compete with the latest chip from Qualcomm.

We will not consider the screens - they are almost the same. And although the technologies are different (AMOLED vs IPS), the picture is displayed perfectly on both.

Camera comparison

And although the phones have dual-module sensors, which in theory should affect the quality of pictures by allowing more light to enter the matrices, they are poorly implemented. Of course, the detail and color reproduction of the cameras has increased, as well as dynamic range, but nothing extraordinary was achieved.

Let's start with Mi6. The phone received sensors with different focal lengths. The main lens is wide-angle with optical stabilization. During the day the photos turn out great, in the evening they turn out noisy. Sometimes in daylight, weakly dynamic scenes become blurry.

Examples of nicknames on Xiaomi Mi6

All images open in full resolution when clicked.

The dynamic range is wide – this is especially noticeable in the second photo. Note the gray clouds and clear blue sky, as well as the dark visible areas under the bridge.

As for Meizu Pro 7, even the camera characteristics raise questions: why doesn’t the flagship have optical stabilization? Is it possible that in modern phone Is this level of optics installed with an f/2 aperture? Even some budget phones use f/1.8 lenses. And most importantly, this phone doesn’t even have laser focusing, although Meizu Pro 6 had it.

Examples of photos on Meizu Pro 7

All images are clickable - they open in full resolution when clicked.

Night footage from strong noises

Bokeh effect

To be honest, the pictures come out quite good, although initially it seems that the results should be worse. If Meizu had used optical stabilization and laser focusing, the camera would have outperformed the Xiaomi Mi6 sensors. For now they are on the same level. The quality of the picture taken in the evening was very disappointing - there was a lot of noise despite the overly active noise reduction.

Peculiarities

The main feature of Meizu is the additional screen on the back side. This is an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 1.9 inches and a resolution of 240x536. In your phone settings there is a “Second Screen” category where you can set different modules for display: camera, pedometer, weather, notifications, etc. This display, although touch-sensitive, is not very functional. You can’t answer calls on it, much less make calls, and there’s no way to rewind music. However, it conveniently displays the number of steps taken, weather, date, time. This screen can be used as a selfie mirror, but that's where its capabilities end for us.

The second feature is the Cirrus Logic CS43130 audio chip. Traditionally, Meizu installs cool sound chips in its phones that provide high quality sound in headphones and speakers. However, it is impossible to single out anything special.

Xiaomi Mi6 does not have any unique features. Its main “weapon” is the powerful modern Snapdragon 835 processor. It is thanks to it that the Mi6 wins in this rating, and this victory is well deserved. Pro 7 is weak smartphone, which by modern standards can hardly be called a flagship.

Meizu Pro 7 based on Mediatek Helio X30 processor

These phones are mainly sold in stores with Helio processors P25, but there are also more advanced versions (Pro 7 Plus) with Helio X30 chips. These are powerful processors created using a 10nm process technology; they are equipped with 10 cores, divided into 3 clusters:

  1. 2xCortex-A73 with a frequency of 2.5 GHz - high-performance modules.
  2. 2xCortex-A53 (2.2 GHz).
  3. 2xCortex-A53 (9 GHz).

Other parameters:

  1. Supports dual-channel LPDDR4X 1866 GHz memory.
  2. Graphics module PowerVR 7400XT with a frequency of 800 MHz.
  3. Built-in LTE Cat.10 modem.
  4. The Antutu result is 160 thousand points (181,000 for Snapdragon 835).

In terms of performance, Meizu Pro 7 Plus based on Helio X30 can be compared with Xiaomi Mi6 on Snapdragon 835, but the latter is still higher in the Antutu rating and has a high-speed modem, although this does not matter for the Russian consumer.

Unlike traditional taps and swipes, Meizu PRO 6 features a 3D Press function that allows you to distinguish the force of touching the screen in real time and launch corresponding functions and applications. This technology not only improved the efficiency of the system, but also made possible a closer connection between person and device. In addition, 3D Press technology includes vibration of the device in addition to visual changes when touched with a certain force.

Meizu PRO 6 is equipped with the third generation NXP Smart PA system. The advanced chip can record the status of the speaker in real time and intelligently control its vibration. The device has improved the volume and transmission of low-frequency sounds from the speaker. The sound is clear and loud without any noise. Battery capacity - 3400 mAh. There is a fingerprint scanner that detects the user's pulse, i.e. You won't be able to unlock your smartphone with a fake silicone fingerprint.

The most pleasant innovation in Meizu Pro 6 Plus is the appearance of a really good main camera. The module is based on a 12 megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor and a fast lens with f/2.0 aperture. Plus there is optical stabilization and a combination of laser and phase detection autofocus. The front camera is far from innovative - a 5 megapixel sensor.

1 Meizu MX6 - Meizu phone with the best reviews

The average price in Russia is 15,300 rubles. You can buy Meizu MX6 on AliExpress for 13.3 thousand rubles (delivery to Russia is free). This model, which went on sale in July 2016, scored 78% of fives according to reviews in Yandex Market. This is the best result among the Meizu smartphone catalog. Technical characteristics: 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, Android 6.0 operating system, 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM, support for two SIM cards. Battery capacity - 3060 mAh. There is a fingerprint scanner.

Main camera 12 MP, front camera 5 MP. Camera based on Sony IMX386 sensor. With built-in phase detection autofocus, the MX6 achieves superior focusing accuracy and speed. As in Meizu MX5, a lens of 6 lenses is used. Despite the reduction in the resolution of the main camera compared to the Meizu MX5 (the Meizu MX5 camera was 20.7 megapixels), the quality of photography in comparison has become noticeably better compared to this and other previous models.

Meizu products were initially in demand with us when the Russian consumer tried the right Chinese quality and correct prices. Then the company was pushed forward by Xiaomi with its even more attractive pricing policy and Dragon processors. Now Meizu has reconsidered her views on the smartphone industry and is focusing on design, cameras, individual features and convenience achieved by using innovative technologies such as recording the force of pressing or the mBack button.

We have collected for you the best smartphones from Meizu in the budget, mid-range and premium segments. These are proven models that are worth their price.

The best inexpensive Meizu smartphones: budget up to 10,000 rubles.

Despite the fact that Meizu is a Chinese company, its products cannot be called too cheap. Yes, the price/performance ratio is simply excellent, and even top-end devices are relatively inexpensive, but ultra budget smartphones not in the company's line-up. The cost of phones starts at about 8 thousand rubles.

4 Meizu M6 16GB

Cool screen
Country: China
Average price: 7939 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.6

Chic inexpensive smartphone. For seven thousand rubles you get a 5.2-inch IPS matrix with HD resolution, a 13-megapixel camera, an eight-core processor (yes, on the Media Library), and convenient one-button controls. All necessary sensors are available: light, proximity, gyroscope and compass, fingerprint scanner. This best device for those who love Meiza and are looking for something budget-friendly for surfing the Internet, using social networks, casual games and photography.

In reviews, users complain about the quality of photos in poor lighting conditions, especially those taken with front camera, and also complain about only HD resolution at 5.2 inches. Considering the price, all the shortcomings of the smartphone are natural and forgivable.

3 Meizu M5c

Best price
Country: China
Average price: 8,310 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.4

The M5c model is the most affordable in the class of budget devices. But this accessibility imposes a number of restrictions. First of all, you should pay attention to the plastic case. It gets scratched quite quickly even with careful use. And it doesn't feel so nice in the hand. The second significant drawback is lower productivity. The processor is somewhat weaker than its competitors, the RAM is only 2 GB, the internal memory is 16 GB. Buyers in their reviews claim that the interface works without problems, but it’s better not to think about heavy applications and games. Another disadvantage is the lack of a fingerprint scanner, which the other two participants have.

In the end, is the phone bad? Not really. Considering the price tag, we have an excellent candidate for the role of an inexpensive smartphone. It is worse only when compared with its comrades on the brand.

Advantages:

  • Lowest cost
  • Good build quality

Flaws:

  • All performance indicators are slightly lower than competitors

2 Meizu M5 32Gb

Largest amount of built-in memory
Country: China
Average price: RUB 10,876.
Rating (2019): 4.5

The M5 can hardly be called the best in all respects. The appearance is the same as the M5c discussed above, which means all the shortcomings are the same. The only difference is the slightly increased dimensions due to the screen being increased to 5.2 inches. Although the resolution remains the same - 1280x720 pixels. There are also not many internal differences, but only when compared with the M5s. The processor performance differs little, the amount of RAM is the same 3 GB, but the video processor is somewhat more powerful. Although you can still play either casual games or serious games on minimal graphics settings. Even the amount of built-in storage is the same - 32 GB. Overall, the device is not bad, but the price is higher than the M5s, and the plastic body is a mess...

Advantages:

  • Large amount of built-in memory
  • Good performance
  • Good image quality in normal lighting

Flaws:

  • Plastic body that gets scratched quickly

Most often, Meizu products are compared with its fellow countryman – Xiaomi. Both companies quickly gained momentum and gathered a huge army of fans. And, of course, disputes between these armies will never subside over whose idol is better. We will not take the side of one manufacturer or another, but will simply collect the pros and cons of each of them in a table.

pros

Minuses

Design. Budget models look slightly better than competitors in the same price range

Sales begin on a larger scale, and therefore it is easier to buy a new product at the start of sales

Great sound in headphones. Flagship smartphones are equipped with a DAC, which provides excellent sound.

Better image quality in budget and mid-range classes

Branded mTouch button, combining a fingerprint scanner, physical and touch keys

Chipsets from MediaTek. Top-end Meizu smartphones are equipped with excellent processors from Samsung, but the entry-level and mid-range ones are based on mediocre MediaTek SoCs.

Similar models are slightly more expensive than Xiaomi

Lower prices, better price/performance ratio

Own ecosystem. Xiaomi has a huge number of others smart devices, and they work especially well with their smartphones

Powerful filling

The presence of an infrared port in almost all models

A large number of component suppliers, which is why the quality “dances” a little

A large number of flaws in the OS (for example, the well-known problem of notifications not arriving)

What's the result? You cannot choose only Meizu or only Xiaomi. Both companies have successful and failed smartphones, as well as branded chips and famous flaws. As usual, the choice depends more on the buyer's personal preferences.

1 Meizu M5s 16Gb

Best performance in a metal case
Country: China
Average price: 8,500 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.7

Here is the best Meizu in the budget class. First of all, the M5s model stands out for its metal body, which is good news. This advantage is also mentioned in many customer reviews. Secondly, the filling is pleasing. MediaTek MT6753 can hardly be called a performance monster, but it’s enough for the quick operation of the interface and applications. Moreover, in the 32GB version, as much as 3GB of RAM is installed (in the version with 16 GB of ROM, there is only 2 GB of RAM). The device does not shine in games: casual games run without problems, but serious games can only be played on minimum graphics settings, and sometimes there can be stuttering.

The cameras pleased me. The 5 MP front camera shoots just fine for its price. The main camera performs well only in sufficient light. It remains to add the low cost to the above, and we get an excellent phone.

Advantages:

  • Low cost
  • Metal body
  • Excellent performance for this class
  • Good front camera

The best Meizu smartphones with a large screen: budget up to 15,000 rubles.

Large displays in smartphones are all the rage these days. Nowadays no one is surprised that a 5-inch device is called “mini”. And this is quite logical, because in recent years the percentage of people who consume content from a smartphone screen has been growing at an incredible pace. At the same time, than bigger screen, the more comfortable it is to watch videos or play. Meizu’s assortment, of course, has many large devices, but we have selected for you only relatively inexpensive models.

3 Meizu M6 Note 3/32GB

Powerful battery
Country: China
Average price: 13,751 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.6

Model with Full HD, dual camera and big battery at 4000 mAh. In reviews, users express positive impressions of using the camera: the frames come out bright, juicy and clear. Some people are confused by the bokeh effect - it looks strange. Macro photography is ok, autofocus does not fail. The main drawback of the model is the insufficiently bright screen. Out of the box, the phone's display may tend towards warm shades - this can be treated by correcting it with a blue bias in the settings. Smartphone owners are also dissatisfied with the quality of the coating - it quickly collects scratches.

The performance is pleasing - the Meizu company decided to experiment again with the Dragon, so here, to the delight of users, there is a fast eight-core Snapdragon 625. A bonus is fast charging, which charges the smartphone by 50% in half an hour.

2 Meizu M5 Note 32 Gb

Best camera
Country: China
Average price: RUB 15,494.
Rating (2019): 4.6

The M5 Note smartphone is the successor to the previous participant in the rating. And, of course, this model is slightly better. The appearance remains the same down to the smallest detail - even the dimensions differ by only a couple of tenths of a millimeter. The screen is the same 5.5’ display with FullHD resolution, but the contrast is higher, which is noticeable to the naked eye. also in better side cameras have changed. There are no changes in numbers (13 megapixels, aperture 2.2), but the pictures are much better. In the dark there is not much noise, and in daylight, with straight hands, you get simply excellent pictures.

But in terms of productivity, progress is not noticeable, and this is extremely sad. It is also worth considering that there are several modifications of the smartphone: 16 and 32 GB models are equipped with 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB version – 4 GB. Finally, it is worth noting the presence of fast charging, thanks to which a 4000 mAh battery is charged in just 1.5 hours.

Advantages:

  • Great camera
  • Higher contrast display
  • The 64GB version has the largest amount of RAM
  • Fast charging

Flaws:

  • I would like more performance

1 Meizu M6s 64GB

Large amount of permanent memory
Country: China
Average price: 12,400 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.8

A device that lures buyers with its convenient virtual mTouch button, replacing three standard Android buttons. Another plus for the M6s is the processor from Samsung, and not the throttling Mediatek. There is a 5.7-inch diagonal with HD+ resolution and a fashionable 18:9 aspect ratio. Both cameras shoot decently for this price segment: both main with 16 MP and front with 8 MP. This phone from Meizu has received universal approval from users.

The main complaints in the reviews concern the need to choose between a second SIM card and a memory card. But the quality of the photos, the fast and conveniently located side scanner, the stylish, expensive-looking design and the user-friendly Flyme shell evoke so much delight.

The best flagship smartphones from Meizu

The vast majority of smartphone manufacturers have a clear division of devices into classes. The division is banal, according to cost - budget, middle and top classes. Of course, Meizu is no exception, so let's look at the most powerful, beautiful and expensive models of their production.

3 Meizu Pro 7 64GB

Two screens
Country: China
Average price: 23290 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.5

On the back of the device there is a small colored touch screen. It doesn’t add much functionality; it’s only convenient to look at the time, track notifications and pedometer indicators. But it is unusual, beautiful and show-off. You can also use it to take selfies with the main camera.

In reviews, users note the excellent photo quality (there is a dual-module main camera), luxurious appearance and surprisingly high-quality deep sound. There’s nothing to criticize the screen for – it’s a bright AMOLED, contrasty and clear. Problems - no NFC, no ability to connect a memory card, not enough powerful battery(maximum two days). Some other users also complain about Meizu's rough-hewn Flyme shell and the modest performance of Mediatek's chipset.

2 Meizu 15 4/64GB

Best camera
Country: China
Average price: 31010 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.9

Fans of this smartphone claim that with its dual-module camera of 12 and 20 megapixels, it takes pictures no worse than the iPhone X and the flagship from Samsung. This is quite similar to the truth, since it has cool laser autofocus, optical stabilization and three (!)x optical zoom. A conventionally frameless design with a button under the screen and a body clad in ceramic acts magnetically, attracting buyers.

Top processor, water protection, NFC contactless payment module - none of that is here. There is a fast, but not the most productive Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, fast charging and a battery with a modest capacity of 3000 mAh, a fingerprint scanner and a facial recognition function. The screen is worthy of praise - it is a Samsung development. It is not clear how the manufacturer “forgot” to install NFC in its flagship - this is a serious mistake. Overall this is good alternative for those who don’t have enough money for the latest Galaxy or who are fundamentally against Apple.

1 Meizu 16th 6/64Gb

Model for perfectionists
Country: China
Average price: 32,000 rub.
Rating (2019): 4.9

A smartphone with ideal proportions. “Meizu” did not bend to the trends: it did not attach an “eyebrow” to the screen and did not remove the audio jack. The engineers made equal indentations at the top and bottom, and synchronized the position of the connectors and buttons. A chic 6-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ and an aspect ratio of 18 to 9 is equipped with a fingerprint scanner. Yes, the sensor is located directly below the screen. The fly in the ointment is that the finger must be placed in a strictly designated place, and the response speed is lower than that of competitors. But the scanner is accurate. There is also face unlocking, which works even in the dark.

A small but significant plush is a separate vibration motor that works pleasantly and softly. The vaunted mBack button has evolved into an on-screen navigation bar. There are also gestures and standard navigation keys. The performance is excellent, because it has a top-end Snapdragon 845 processor. The main disadvantage of the new product is the lack of NFC. Also, the device is not pleased with its autonomy - with moderate active use it lasts a day on a single charge.

Rating 5

Advantages: Unusual and so beautiful - everyone is staring at it, functional, tactile, high quality, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Good cameras. The price has dropped by half since the release date.

Disadvantages: I wish there was more battery..

Comment: Excellent phone - bought as a gift, only positive emotions, and everyone is happy. The sound is much better than the pro 6 plus, activation by face (a thing!!) is instant, for the last three years - only Meizu!! Previously, all of mine used Huawei, Xiaomi, which did not last for more than 1.5 years even with careful handling, or simply died or the batteries did not last, despite replacements, because... In the firmware, the service life is fixed by the manufacturers, but this is not observed with Meizu - they live until you buy a more modern one..

Advantages: -camera
-display quality
-optimized operation
-shell

Disadvantages: -when will it be possible to pay with an NFS chip?

Comment: The overall picture is very positive, Meizu has a high-quality approach to what they do and the phones turn out to be worthwhile. I used Pro6 before and notice the difference. The sound is excellent, although it does not sound like music. Photos bring pleasure both to the process itself and to the overall result. Go to new phone took no more than 20 minutes of my time, and everything was already in place, everything was installed by itself. I am sure that the high rating is justified here

Advantages: Meizu for me is the freedom to customize Android, multiplied by premium design and ergonomics like the iPhone. Even the poor version with a storage capacity of 64 GB completely covers all data storage needs. Meizu services, not yet fully operational outside of China, are still extremely useful - Account Meizu, Data Transfer Tool, etc. Despite the fact that the hardware in the device is not top-end, I have never noticed any slowdowns or glitches.

Disadvantages: The camera has become much better compared to previous models, but still does not reach the top. But there are a lot of photo processing features that have been added, which is nice (Although I hardly use the camera). A minor but solvable drawback is the security center, which blocks Push notifications from instant messengers and social networks. networks. But everything is solved in 5 minutes after searching for relevant articles on w3bsit3-dns.com.

Comment: The second screen is not particularly functional yet, but I am sure that in the expected Flyme 7 this feature will be fully developed.

Advantages: - Appearance. Looks stylish. Doesn't copy iPhones like all other phones. It also fits perfectly in your hands, you can easily control it with one hand. Not too slippery.
- Productivity. No matter what anyone says, the smartphone is very fast. The processor and memory are enough for the eyes.
- Camera. Very decent photos. This is my first time using a second camera, but the quality of the pictures is very pleasing to the eye.
- Charger. It charges really very quickly. Idle 1.5 hours = 100%. When watching a video (via browser) or running game= 2-2.5 hours to fully charge. In the past, Xiaomi would barely charge if something was running.
- 2 screens. This is of course a unique feature of the phone. The second screen is not really needed in terms of functionality. It's just time to look at it. But the very fact of its presence adds its own “fun” to the smartphone.
Basic everything. I would also like to note as a plus that the kit comes with a rear bumper. True, it is plastic and quickly broke (without falling) in the weakest place, above the 2nd screen.
- Sound and player mode. The sound from the headphones is simply amazing. I'm most pleased with this, because... I listen to music a lot. The speaker itself is loud, does not wheeze, does not make noise. The sound is great. But it's much better with headphones. + the phone has a player mode - everything is turned off except music. Control via 2nd screen. Simple and convenient. 15% charge was enough for 8 hours of pure music. An excellent result in my opinion. Well, 64GB of memory is more than enough to fill everything your soul requires.

Disadvantages: - Battery. Despite quick function charging, 3000 battery is too small for that device. It would be better if they put at least 4000 in there. Then everything would be ok. With constant WatsApp, 3-4 hours of play a day is enough for a little more than a day. But nothing stops you from charging it in an hour and continuing to work.
-Flyme. After a large number of uses from the Chinese (LeTV, ZTE, Xiaomi, etc.) this is the first Meizu. And honestly the firmware is not much... rough. Not all widgets can be resized. Screen settings (shortcuts and the like) are also quite primitive. I didn’t see any firmware features. The functionality of the 2nd screen is still weak. Only a pedometer (which is not really needed there), time and the weather. In a word, customization of the same Miui is much more beautiful and functional. But I will hope to expand it, especially after Flyme 7 (February 24 announcement)

Comment: My impressions of the phone are very good. This is the first phone more expensive than 15,000 rubles and I am completely satisfied with it. Everything you need to eat works great. An hour of charging and you can continue to work (the power bank helps us all) The feature with 2 screens especially gives the phone the status of a flagship. The sound is wonderful. I'm completely satisfied with the phone and glad I bought it. For the price - the price is normal. I cannot call it unjustified.

Score 4

Advantages: 1.Screen
2.Fingerprint scanner
3.Availability of a second screen
4. Appearance
5.Nimble
Camera (compared to M2 mini)

Disadvantages: 1.Autonomy
2.Slippery
3.Sound

Comment: Impressions and comparison after 2 years of owning Meizu M2 mini.
Pros:
1.The screen is good, the colors and clarity make me happy.
2. The scanner is excellent, it’s instant!
3. The second screen is a cool thing, not like everyone else (in principle, that’s why I chose it and not the Huawei P10).
4. Appearance - beautiful, strict, metallic, thin (all in black). I was recently at a general holiday with friends (they are all owners of different-sized iPhones), so they were very surprised that it was Meizu. Subtle and beautiful. I liked everything very much.
5.Nimble - after the M2 mini, this is heaven and earth. There may be even faster ones, but that’s enough for me. I play games on it no more complicated than Clash Royal. He copes with this and ordinary tasks (Internet and calls) with a bang.
6.Camera - after the M2 mini - it's a bomb! And in comparison with other flagships... so-so. But this is enough for me! While I'm playing with it.
Minuses:
1. Autonomy - I was waiting (and after reviews on the internet) that it would last longer than my M2. No. It also lasts all day, I put it on charge at night. More precisely, not for the night, but for an hour. QUICK CHARGE is a really cool theme: one hour and a full charge, in half an hour it increases 60 percent! This compensates for the rather weak autonomy.
2. Slippery - damn, you really need to hold it tightly or push it against the bumper. But he's too handsome for a bumper. For now, at my own peril and risk, I carry around without it.
3. Sound - again, having listened a lot and read reviews, I was sure that this phone would tear me apart. Headphones Meizu HD50 - I didn’t notice any difference with the sound in the M2 mini. The external speaker plays louder and clearer than the M2 mini, but I wanted that with headphones...

CONCLUSION: considering that I took it for 22 thousand rubles. (behind European version with global international firmware, and not “Chinese” and dancing with tambourines), then this is a “must have”. If it cost 30 tr. and more, then I would take something else.
Thank you for your attention. I hope I helped you at least a little with your choice.

Pros: Excellent, very easy to use smartphone.
+ Appearance. Discreet, stylish design, the second screen looks beautiful and appropriate (but only in black)
+ Camera. A very cool camera for a smartphone for a little over 20 rubles. It takes pictures clearly, without noise, and behaves decently even in the dark.
+ Screen. clear, rich colors. I'm very happy.
+ Sound. The main plus. The sound is simply unrealistically cool. This needs to be heard.
+ Second screen. It’s quite a convenient thing, which, moreover, makes the smartphone stand out from the general background. Quickly view the time, notifications, weather - it's convenient.
+ Autonomy. Whatever they say, she's not bad. My smartphone lasts almost 2 days under average load.

Disadvantages: - No NFC. In principle, this is not critical for me - taking out a smartphone and taking out a wallet with a card takes about the same time. But this may be inconvenient for some.
- It is not possible to use memory cards. In principle, 64 GB is enough, but if I want to download more Flac, problems may arise.
- Of course, it is not a gaming one - the processor is very modest. Although nowadays fewer and fewer people play games on smartphones. I gave up a long time ago. For all daily tasks The processor power is enough.

Today, Meizu smartphones are quite well known to Russian buyers, but they are not in particular demand. The company is among the top ten the best manufacturers in the world, and this arouses a certain interest - what is good about the company, and what prevents it from breaking into leadership positions. Below we will talk about the emergence of the brand and Meizu smartphones in 2018.

The history of Meizu begins in 2003 from the production of mp3 player. The device turned out to be quite good, but it copied a previously released product from another Chinese manufacturer. This gives the company an understanding that it is necessary to make technology that is different from others, and the company is guided by this principle to this day. Already in 2004, the company released its own unique device, which was warmly welcomed by the public. In 2007, the company's founder, Huang Xiuzhang, aka Jack Wong, realized that development in a new direction was necessary and decided to create smartphones.

The first devices are very reminiscent Apple products, which caused several lawsuits and scandals. After this, the company begins to develop its own style of devices. This is how the concept of a branded multifunction button was born, and a love for metal cases appeared. Until 2015, Meizu released one device a year, without being distracted by the creation of budget smartphones, but everything changes after major investment from Alibaba Group. Currently, the company has several lines of smartphones, as well as proprietary features.

  1. All Meizu smartphones have a steel frame that increases impact resistance.
  2. mTouch touch button with a number of functions.
  3. Flyme's own shell, which provides the same experience of using any brand device, regardless of their price.

Let's give Interesting Facts about the brand.

  1. Meizu consists of two words Mei and Zu, which can be translated into Russian as “people in trend.”
  2. In order to get to Meizu, you need to be a dreamer- This is one of the most important criteria for selecting candidates.
  3. In order to increase software for its devices, back in 2014 the company promised to give 100% of the profits from applications to their direct developers.
  4. The company received investments from Alibaba in exchange for promotion cloud storage called Aliyun.
  5. The second major investor of Meizu is MediaTek, thus the famous chipset manufacturer expanded its market presence, and also took a kind of revenge on the Xiaomi brand, which moved to cooperate with Qualcomm.

In conclusion of the topic, it is worth considering the question of which smartphone is better - Xiaomi or Meizu. It is logical, because both brands are Chinese and have similar prices. At the same time, Xiaomi shows better sales, and this is natural, since it has serious advantages in a number of parameters.

  1. Despite the wide selection of devices from both companies, Xiaomi often creates really cool devices. Most of Meizu smartphones are passable, and of the truly interesting models we can only remember a smartphone with two Meizu screens Pro 7 Plus. The 16th turned out to be quite interesting in terms of parameters. Xiaomi has an order of magnitude more devices that become bestsellers.
  2. The build quality of both brands is equally good, but there is a difference in terms of design. Xiaomi is not afraid of experiments and enjoys different materials– plastic, metal, ceramics, glass. Meizu can be called adherents of metal, and if in the cheap segment they still turn to plastic, then many older devices are created exclusively in metal, and despite its practical properties, it is less impressive in terms of visual perception.
  3. Device performance is most often on Xiaomi's side, at one time it was no coincidence that they refused to work with MediaTek, since in the mid-range and budget segment, chipsets from this brand do not show the best results, especially in games.
  4. In terms of autonomy, Xiaomi is often rated more high-capacity batteries than Meizu, but the advantages of the latter are worth writing down fast charging , which is found even in the cheapest devices.
  5. From the point of view of branded firmware, there can be no comparison, since everything here is not for everyone, but global firmware on Flyme more often. Xiaomi updates MIUI sequentially, from expensive smartphones to cheap ones, and sometimes the latter have to wait a very long time for their turn.
  6. Meizu can be considered a plus emphasis on sound in almost all smartphone lines.

Both brands are good, but in terms of functionality, performance, and appearance, the devices Xiaomi company often better, which makes her a leader. It is possible that Meizu will soon be able to change this situation, since the latest devices of the year began to look more modern and received not only bright colors, but also a more modern body material - glass.
