The majority considered the development in the field of smartphone manufacturing of this company only an appendage to laptops, because many of us were already familiar with the term “ chinese smartphone on Android” and this discouraged the desire to purchase something from their model range.

Yes and retail chains mobile phones, there was no rush to import phones from this company to our market. But the most demanding ones wanted to get quality at an affordable price, ordering goods directly from China. You can find out how to do this by studying our material entitled:

But everything changed dramatically after the company released its flagship, workhorse of 2013 - the Lenovo K900 smartphone with an Intel processor. For many, this was a shock and new. People began to be interested in the company, and dealers, having fussed, began to offer the lineup IdeaPhohe in their retail networks. Actually, thanks to this model, most ordinary users learned about the existence of mobile phones from Lenovo. View full list devices and study their classification by reading the article:

Let's take a closer look at what a smartphone is. Lenovo Ideaphone K900 and find out why it might be interesting for us.

The device comes in a stylish small box, which is typical for Lenovo, but in this case the box itself looks more stylish than when packaged budget models- this already suggests that there will be something interesting inside.

In addition to the phone in the box, we can see documentation, a paper clip for removing the SIM card, Charger, microUSB cable, adapter for Euro socket and audio headset.

Characteristics

Feature of this smartphone is Intel processor Atom Z2580, which has 2 cores operating at 2 GHz, which, unlike others mobile processors has a high degree of heating, which should not be surprising during its operation. The phone has 2 GB of RAM, and the built-in memory, depending on the device version, is 16 or 32 GB.

The 2500 mAh battery in the device can last two days in energy saving mode, and with active use you will need to charge the smartphone every day, but this is a price to pay for the thickness of the device.

Other characteristics

  • The thickness of the device case is ultra-thin 6.9 mm.
  • Overall dimensions of the device 158 x 78 x 6.9 mm
  • The phone has 1 slot for a microSim card.

Screen

The high quality HD screen is made using AH-IPS technology. The font is not loose, the display's responsiveness to touch is also at a high level. You can adjust the brightness manually or automatic mode. Thanks to multi-touch technology, it is possible to process up to 10 touches at once. The proximity sensor locks the screen when you hold the phone to your ear.

Camera

Like many similar devices, the Lenovo 900 phone is equipped with two cameras. The main one has automatic focus and flash. It is 13 megapixels, due to which it provides good quality pictures. The front one is only 2 megapixels, but as many users say in their reviews, it is practically not used.

There are also some shortcomings of the main camera. The sharpening function does not always cope with its task. Thus, there is no need to talk about the “artistic” nature of the photographs. In general, the camera seems damp. Perhaps the manufacturer was in a hurry when creating it.

Software

For its operation, the Lenovo K900 phone uses an operating system Android versions 4.2.1. On standard interface ideaDesktop shell is installed. There are no significant changes, only slight updates have been made to the interface, and widgets have been added. The settings menu consists of three sections, transitions between which are made by a selection bar located at the top of the screen.

The user can customize the navigation bar of the control panel at his own discretion, selecting the most important functions for himself. There are many pre-installed applications, some useful and some not so important.

Performance

It is based on the Intel Atom Z2580 processor. The cores operate at a frequency of 2 GHz, 4 threads of execution are implemented. The smartphone successfully supports high-definition video playback. Slots are quickly scrolled through, and there are no delays when launching programs. As for games, the situation with them is not so rosy. Some of them go without problems, others lead to slowdowns.

Memory

The smartphone has only 2 GB random access memory. For loading user files 9 of 16 GB offered. Currently, the Lenovo k900 phone with the ability to install a flash card is not on sale, but the manufacturer claims that it is working on this issue.

Autonomous operation

Lenovo approached the issue of autonomy carefully. Since, due to the thickness of the case, it was not possible to accommodate a large-capacity battery, the manufacturer preinstalled a program that allows you to save energy. The battery is non-removable, so it cannot be replaced.

In respect of battery life Everything about the smartphone is at an average level. It can last a whole day without recharging if you use the device for an hour of calls, several hours of listening to music, and also a couple of hours of active surfing the Internet.

The Lenovo 900 smartphone leaves somewhat mixed feelings after use. It pleasantly surprises with its stylish design, which puts it in the expensive segment. The excellent build quality is also pleasing. But there are also annoying moments that spoil the overall impression of the phone. These disadvantages include the inability to connect a card to expand the memory. Although, Lenovo promised to fix this error, so all we can do is wait.

To summarize, it is worth noting that the device attracts you with its external data and internal strength. Many users find it difficult to pass up such a device.

The flagship of the leading Chinese manufacturer mobile devices company Lenovo smartphone The K900 has finally reached our editorial office for review. This device, located somewhere on the border between mobile phones and tablets, has been on sale on the market for several months now, having managed to gain a bunch of mostly positive reviews from those who have already managed to buy and use it. And the price of this smartphone, which was about $300 in mid-May 2014, is an excellent motivator for choice. After all, it’s not often possible to buy a mobile phone with such characteristics and in such a body for such a relatively modest price.

But reviews are reviews, and testing a new product yourself and writing a review based on your own impressions is always more interesting. Moreover, in addition to the attractive price, the description of this smartphone promises us many unusual characteristics and parameters. So, let's get started with the review.

Characteristics

First, let's get acquainted with the technical characteristics of this smartphone:

Technical Lenovo specifications K900

Number of SIM cards:

5.5" IPS, 1920 x 1080 pixels.

CPU:

Intel Atom Z2580 2GHz, 2 cores

RAM:

Built-in memory:

Wireless interfaces:

Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS

Battery:

Description

To us at Lenovo review The K900 came in this stylish, atypical for the manufacturer, black box with the model name cut out on the dust jacket. Apparently, the black color should emphasize the premium quality of this mobile phone compared to others in the line.

The tightest neat packaging contains:

Charger with adapter for European sockets;

USB cable;

Instructions in Chinese (also in elite black color :));

Earphones.

There are no additional bonuses that emphasize the top-class Lenovo K900 in the box.

The appearance of the Lenovo K900 attracts attention with its strict forms and thoughtful design.

Here the manufacturer did his best. Strict corners of the case, traces of grinding on aluminum back cover, bolted, I really like the precise placement of all the elements at first glance. And the thickness of the case, which is only 6.9 mm, smoothes out the spade-shaped enormity of the smartphone, making the solution elegant and sophisticated. The smartphone is assembled perfectly, nothing creaks, despite its small thickness. Perhaps the non-removable back cover also contributed to this parameter.

Lenovo K900, due to its large size, is, of course, not intended for one-handed operation, this must be understood. And you can hardly carry it comfortably in your jeans pocket. But it seems that the user who has decided to buy a mobile phone with a large diagonal is aware of what he is getting into. Thanks to the thickness and pleasant-to-touch materials, the smartphone is very comfortable to use with two hands. In addition, it is noticeably lighter than most competitors on the market with a similar screen diagonal.

Under the touchscreen there are three traditional buttons. They are not illuminated, which is not very good. The top end of the Lenovo K900 is pristine.

On the left is a two-position volume key,

on the right is the phone power button and the micro-sim card slot.

At the bottom end we find connectors for connecting headphones and a mini-USB cable, as well as a microphone hole.

The back cover, fastened with stylish bolts, bears the manufacturer's logo. Above it is the main camera with two backlight LEDs, and below is the external speaker grille.

Screen

The Lenovo K900 display is made using IPS technology with a diagonal size of 5.5 inches and a Full HD resolution of 1920x1280 pixels. We really liked this part of the smartphone. In addition to the expected large viewing angles, this screen has a very large reserve of brightness, guaranteeing ease of use even on a sunny day. Auto-brightness adjustment works quite correctly. The drop in contrast even at maximum angles is almost unnoticeable. The frames around the sensor are small, but perhaps they could be made even thinner by reducing the dimensions. The touchscreen supports multi-touch for up to 10 touches.

Iron

The hardware parameters are another surprise from the manufacturer. The dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 with a frequency of 2 GHz installed in the Lenovo K900 is a bold attempt to break Qualcomm's monopoly in top solutions. The smartphone is very fast in terms of operation. The interface's response is instantaneous; we were never able to find a program that would make the hero of today's review think.

IN Antutu benchmark Lenovo K900 scored more than 20,000 points, which is an excellent result.

The smartphone has 2GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of storage. And here the user is in for an unpleasant surprise: installation of memory expansion cards is not provided. Judging by the reviews, this is the most sore point of this mobile phone for buyers, because you can install flash drives of 32 or even 64 GB in solutions that are much cheaper in price.

Other options

The sound of the Lenovo K900 speaker is loud and clear; for this parameter, the test subject deserves a solid “5”. WiFi is quite good, it catches and maintains the network without any problems. weak signal. The GPS connected and determined the location almost instantly and very accurately. Regarding these characteristics, we can also leave only the best reviews.

Camera

The Lenovo K900 has a 13-megapixel main camera with frame dimensions of 4096x3072 pixels. The application for using it is called simply and tastefully - “Super Camera”, and has many settings. However, we had no particular desire to use them; the smartphone takes excellent pictures automatically. For fans of “special effects” there are a bunch of presets with various image changes. In addition, it is possible to select a manual focus point, shoot by voice, shoot animation, etc. Photos from the Lenovo K900 turn out to be of very good quality, even indoors and in artificial light. The smartphone also has a very short minimum focusing distance, almost macro.

Video shot in Full HD resolution has the ability to stabilize, as well as manual focus selection. Sometimes automatic focusing does not understand where to aim it, thinking about it for a while.

Examples of photos:

Example video:

Front camera with a resolution of 2 megapixels. It’s quite suitable for Skype or self-portrait, but we wouldn’t count on it too much.

Firmware

The Lenovo K900 costs operating system Android 4.2.2. As always, the Lenovo firmware has a pre-installed proprietary launcher with a bunch of useful features and user amenities. Here you will find ample opportunities for customizing the interface, easy access to the most common functions, a bunch interesting settings(such as “pocket mode”, in which the smartphone should play the call melody louder), gesture control, etc. Once again, we note that Lenovo can make its launchers very well.
