A black screen when loading Windows 7 means that the system initially boots after turning on the PC in the same way as usual, but stops at the stage when dark background The cursor flickers. For an inexperienced user, this situation can be very frightening. But don't worry: the black screen is a modified version of the "blue screen of death." Unlike its older “brother,” a black screen allows the user to carry out any actions and more effectively correct errors in the OS. So how do you restore your system?

Method number 1. Using safe mode

If you experience a black screen when loading Windows 7, the first thing you should try to do is solve the problem through Safe Mode. To do this, start restarting the computer and press the F8 button on the keyboard. This must be done before the logo appears on the screen. An entire menu with several items will be displayed on the monitor, from which you need to use the "" and "↓" buttons to select "Safe Mode" and then press Enter. What will it give? This mode provides the ability to run only those programs and services that are necessary for the correct operation of the system. This same mode is used by specialists to use computers that have been subject to virus attacks, and it is also used to recover deleted data and to prepare the computer for reinstalling the OS. If, after switching to safe mode, you see a desktop with shortcuts, a taskbar and other tools on the screen, it means that the black screen when loading Windows 7 appeared due to a malfunction of some service that you installed shortly before the problem arose. The most logical solution to the problem would be to perform a system restore or remove recently installed programs and drivers using the "Control Panel" ("Uninstall Programs" item).

Method number 2. Restoring or reinstalling Windows

If you are unable to enter Safe Mode, you can perform a system restore. To do this, insert a Windows disc into the drive and, following the prompts on the screen, select the appropriate options. If the black screen problem persists even after this, you will most likely need to completely reinstall Windows.

Method number 3. Reactivate Windows

Sometimes errors associated with system activation lead to something that appears when Windows startup 7 black screen. If you are using licensed software, you just need to re-enter the code and confirm the data.

Method number 4. If your computer is infected

Perhaps this reason is the most common among those that cause a black screen to appear when loading Windows. There is a certain algorithm of actions, following which you can correct the situation. First of all, you should press the Alt+Del+Ctrl button combination and open the task manager. In the window that opens, you will see the "Processes" tab. That's what we need. You need to find the explorer.exe process. If there is none, click on the “New task” button and enter its name in the window that opens. If the black screen disappears after completing the steps, the problem is almost solved. All that remains is to select the “Run” item in the “Start” menu, enter the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> WindowsNT -> CurrentVersion -> Winlogon, and then enter the value explorer.exe next to the Shell item. If something else is already written there, it must be erased.

Method number 5. Restore the system using an antivirus

This is another method that can help you fix black screen when loading Windows XP and other versions of the popular OS. If the steps described in method 4 did not help, you need to open the task manager again. Using the “New task” item you already know, open Internet Explorer(to launch the browser, enter iexplorer.exe). Should be installed AVZ program, and then run it. Next, in the program window, select “File -> System Restore” and check the boxes responsible for the Explorer launch key and Explorer settings.

Method number 6. System recovery

And finally, the last option on how you can independently fix the black screen when loading Windows 7. To do this, while the black screen is displayed, you need to press the Shift button five times in a row or hold it down for 10-15 seconds. A dialog box will appear asking you if you want to enable Sticky Keys. At the bottom of the window there is a link offering to go to the Special Center. opportunities - click on it. At the top of the new window you can see the search bar in the control panel. Enter “Task Manager” and wait for the Control Panel to open. We need an item called "System". Next, go to the "Protection" tab. The “System Properties” window will appear on your monitor, where you will immediately see the “Restore…” button. Following the program's instructions, select a restore point - it is best to choose those made during the period when the OS was 100% stable.

The desktop is a very important interface and the heart of any personal computer. It is on it that users work with numerous windows and create convenient link icons for organizing quick access To necessary programs. Some users are faced with the fact that the familiar and convenient interface partially stops working - a black screen replaces the desktop wallpaper windows table 7. This article describes what to do in case of such problems.

There are two common types of this problem: the desktop disappears completely or all the shortcuts remain, but a black background appears instead of the usual wallpaper. The first problem is usually caused by damage windows systems due to virus attacks or software failures, and the second is a consequence of lack of activation. The following describes in detail how to remove the black screen and return the original background back.

Activation

If you are using an unlicensed copy of Windows, the OS will try in every possible way to notify you about this. Numerous messages and warnings will be displayed on the monitor screen, active programs will be minimized, and a black background with the message “You may be using an unlicensed version” will periodically be installed on the table instead of your image.

There are 2 possibilities to solve this problem. Firstly, you can purchase a key to your windows versions in the Microsoft online store and activate it. To do this, you need to right-click on the “My Computer” shortcut and select “Properties” from the drop-down list. At the very bottom of the window that opens, users can find an activation tool. You just need to enter the purchased key and wait a few minutes while Windows contacts Microsoft servers.

Alternative way more popular in Russia - you can use a special free activator program to hack your OS. The effect will be exactly the same, however technical support or free update You can forget about Windows 10. A very popular activator is the small utility Chew7. Just download it, press a single button and restart your computer. After restarting, change the black screen to your desired background.

OS damage

If not only the background disappears, but the entire table, along with shortcuts and the quick access panel, most likely your PC was damaged by a virus attack. In this case, you need to solve the current problem, and then immediately protect your computer from viruses.

Since a broken desktop does not allow you to run programs in the usual way, you must resort to alternative method:

Accounting windows records– how to delete or change an entry

The computer is infected with a virus

The malware changes the configurations of deep windows settings, the result of which is a change in the appearance of the interface. If no changes have occurred after removing the malicious program, this does not mean that the destruction of the virus was unsuccessful. The issue may be that the settings were not set before the initial version.

To troubleshoot the problem you must:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

There are two parameters here, Shell and Userinit, whose default values are explorer.exe and c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe, respectively. If this is not true, you must reset the settings and restart the system for them to take effect.

It is also worth checking the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon branch, where such variables should not be located. Otherwise, they are subject to destruction.

Non-working video card drivers

They must be removed and new ones must be installed in their place. To do this you need:

  • call the context menu by right-clicking the mouse, pointing it at “Start”;
  • go to the “Programs and Features” section;
  • uninstall all elements associated with this video card;

However, this method is unsafe because some components may remain in the system even after removal, which can lead to conflicts during subsequent updates. Therefore, a more competent approach would be to use specialized utility Display Driver Uninstaller, which is publicly available.

Why does error 651 occur and how to fix it

The final step is to download the driver from the manufacturer’s official website and then install it.

Black desktop without shortcuts

Microsoft Company working on optimization software and updates it regularly. During the installation process, the system asks the user not to turn off the computer, but there is not always time or opportunity to do just that.

Terminating updates may result in a black screen upon subsequent boot. This process sometimes lasts up to 30 minutes, which is due to large updates or low hardware performance. When the process is completed, the computer will work properly again.

Computer problems

The first step is to turn off the device. After this, you should inspect the wires and make sure that they are not damaged. You also need to check the cables, as well as their interfaces, for mechanical damage.

The motherboard must also be safe and sound. But even in this case, it can cause a black screen due to a large accumulation of dust.

The board also has a CMOS battery, which is responsible for maintaining the BIOS settings. It may run out of power, preventing the system from booting. In this case, replacing it will solve the problem of the black screen. But most often the solution lies in malfunctions operating system.

If all else fails

There is a procedure for rolling back the OS to the latest working update. To save all files, you need to go to “Control Panel” → “System” → “System Protection” and enable all logical drives in the protection settings. Otherwise, during subsequent recovery, only system disk.

Here, restoration occurs by pressing the appropriate button.

A panel will pop up where you need to select the “Next” button at the bottom.

After which a list of available system restore points will open.

Unlock graphic key phone

If you go to “Search for affected programs,” you can get an idea of which applications will be restored and which will be lost.

You must tick the desired point and click “Next”.

At the very end, you must once again confirm all actions and wait for the process to complete. As a result, the computer will restart and a dialog box with the results will open.

Sometimes after this procedure certain utilities stop working correctly, but such cases are very rare. After installing them again, the applications begin to work properly again.

Is being decided this situation without any particular difficulties: first, press ctrl+alt+delete and call the task manager.

Then we launch a new task: File -> New task -> Regedit -> click “Ok”. With this action we launched the registry editor.

If there is something different there, we fix it immediately.

After the actions taken, there are two scenarios for the development of events: the first - everything worked. This means that after the reboot the desktop appeared and the problems disappeared. We use the computer as before.

Desktop gone black screen

Despite the fact that most system failures are quite normally tolerated by the computer, some of them can bring a lot of problems to the user, take, for example, a situation in which the desktop has disappeared, the black screen obscures the entire area, and the user cannot perform absolutely any actions with the computer. Naturally, the reason for this can be not only a system failure, but also the actions of the user that provoked this, or, say, the actions of viruses or malware, but as a rule, the effect does not change.

In the event that the desktop disappears, the black screen does not disappear when loading, but the user can still see the mouse cursor, then the problem is a system failure, and you can fix it yourself by performing a system rollback. How to do it? It’s quite simple, you just need to hold down the F9 key on the keyboard when you boot the computer, and wait until the boot menu appears with the proposed actions.

In this case, you need to try to boot into safe mode by selecting the appropriate menu item. If this action does not help, you can also try, after booting the computer, press the key combination CTRL+Alt+Del, thereby launching the “Task Manager” system program. If this option recovery of the computer has worked, then a program window should appear on the screen, in which we need to go to the “Processes” tab and check for the presence running program explorer.exe. If you couldn’t find one, then the next step is to go to Top Menu“File” and selecting the item called “New task”. In the small window that appears, you need to enter the name of the process to be launched - in our case it will be explorer.exe, and then confirm the actions being performed. If there is already a running process in the “Processes” tab, you can try to terminate it, and after the procedure has been completed, restart it using the same “File” menu.

However, it is worth noting that launching the task manager is not always possible; take, for example, the situation when the administrator has prohibited the launch of this system utility, and then problems with the computer become really serious. Naturally, you can also try to restore the operating system using installation disk, or, as a last resort, completely reinstall Windows, but why do this if you can use the help of specialists. The staff of the HelpUser computer center are ready to help you solve any problems related to the inoperability of your computer, in particular the situation when the desktop has disappeared; a black screen does not allow you to run any software, which in every possible way limits the functionality of the computer. Stop trying to figure out the current problem with your computer on your own. When it is enough to contact the qualified computer specialists of our service center, we will provide the highest quality services, and we will do it promptly.

The appearance of a black screen when loading Windows OS is a fairly common situation. Often the reason for its appearance is all kinds of viruses that a person brings into his computer due to random wandering on the Internet (so-called surfing); another reason may be software failures. In this article I will tell you how to remove a black screen using the example of the most popular modern operating system in the world - Windows 7. We will give three options for fixing the problem.

How to remove black screen from Windows

One of the most common problems with a black screen appearing when loading an OS is that you have an unlicensed copy of Windows 7. In this case, the system will give you something like this: “You have purchased fake copy Software..." or something like that. You can get rid of this by removing one of the system updates, namely KB971033, which is responsible for verifying the authenticity of the OS. To do this, open the “Control Panel”, then “Update Center...”, “View update history”, where you need to click on the “ tab Installed updates" Select the above update and after removing it, restart your computer. Now go back to the “Update Center” and find KB971033 in the update search menu. Uncheck the box on the left, then right-click on the update (right-click) and select “Hide update”, after which it remains to confirm the applied changes by clicking on the “OK” button. However, this method is not suitable if the black screen appears due to viruses or Trojans. In this case, we recommend the following method.

How to remove a black screen: option No. 2

Open the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc or Ctrl+Alt+Del. Now click on the “Applications” tab, then “New task” (bottom right) and in the window that appears, type “Regedit” (the command to open the registry editor). In the registry, look for the line HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / WindowsNT / CurrentVersion / Winlogon - there, double-click on the “Shell” value. If the window that opens contains other entries besides explorer.exe, delete them. If there is only an explorer.exe entry, delete it and then create it again. It happens that this option is also useless. Then we move on to method number three.

How to remove a black screen: option No. 3

Hold for 10 seconds Shift key or press it quickly 5 times in a row. In the window that appears, disable Sticky Keys, then type “Task Manager” in the upper corner and in the “Control Panel” window that appears, go to the “System” menu, and then “System Protection”. After the System Properties window appears, go to System Restore and then click Next. In the window that appears, check the box at the bottom in the “Show other recovery points” item. Now you just have to select the point on the date of which the system was in in working condition and click “Finish” - the system will “roll back” itself to an earlier state - even before the black screen appears. After this procedure, I recommend that you download the Superantispyware program (free version) and check your computer for all kinds of Trojans and others spyware, which lead to similar problems with the system. Also, without the proper software, you shouldn’t even try to visit sites marked search engine that they may be dangerous for your PC. This way you will save your computer from many problems.

And here is a link to a free anti-spyware program: SUPERAntiSpyware - select Free version Edition (red link for direct download).

When starting the operating system - one of the most common mistakes encountered by users. Signs of this Windows errors 7 look like this: Immediately after the download completes, when the welcome and user selection dialog should appear, nothing happens. The screen remains black, no controls are displayed, and no error messages appear. The causes of this problem may be different, and in order to understand how to remove the black screen of Windows 7, you will have to diagnose your computer yourself and look for a solution.

The computer shuts down improperly or the power goes out

If the error when starting Windows 7 is due to an unexpected reason, for example, a power failure, then running the Last Known Good Configuration will help fix this. The essence of the solution is that Windows writes important parameters to special file and if the computer starts successfully, it marks them as operational. If, after accidentally changing any of these parameters, the system cannot start, then it is possible to use the old configuration. To do this you need to do the following:

  • turn off computer;
  • re-enable it;
  • wait until the very first screen, which usually displays the title, goes out motherboard and model or list of connected devices ( hard disks, CD drives);
  • Hold down the F8 key and wait for a menu to appear with a choice of actions.

Among the boot options displayed, you can see options such as “Safe Mode”, “Safe Mode with network drivers" and others. Find among them the “Last Known Good Configuration” parameter, select it using the arrow keys and press Enter.

When you select this menu item, 90% of Windows startups occur without errors, and the computer returns to normal operation.

Error caused by installing new driver versions

We all love updates. Computer hardware manufacturers are well aware of this and periodically release preliminary versions of drivers, marking them as beta versions. And if, in pursuit of a couple of extra frames per second in your favorite game, you downloaded and installed this version, and the computer greeted you with a black screen when rebooting, then there is a solution for this too. It should be noted that such an error can also appear during a regular update, when you download the final stable version of the drivers, but the installation fails with an error. In any case, if a black screen appears after you install Windows 7, you need to do the following:

  • following the instructions from the previous section, launch a window with a choice of options for booting your computer;
  • Use the arrows to select the “Safe Mode with Network Driver Support” option and press Enter.

Next you need to wait until everything is disabled unnecessary services and drivers, including the sound and video card driver, so starting the system in this mode almost always succeeds if the problem lies in them. You should remove the problematic driver and replace it with a working one. This is done as follows:

  1. Right-click on the “Computer” icon, context menu select "Properties".
  2. In the window that appears, on the left side, find the “Device Manager” item and click on it.
  3. Find the “Video adapters” section in the list of devices and expand it by double-clicking the left mouse button.
  4. Right-click on the name of the video card, open and select “Properties”.
  5. In the window that appears, open the “Driver” tab and select one of the possible actions:
  • “Roll back” (the current version of the video driver will be deleted and the previous one will be restored);
  • “Delete” (the current version will be completely deleted installed driver from the system).

If there is such an opportunity, then it is better to select the “Roll Back” option. In any of the options, after selecting an action, follow the instructions of the “Setup Wizard”, wait for the operation to complete and reboot the computer. It should be remembered that after complete removal from the system, you need to download them again from the manufacturer’s website or install them from the disk that came with the equipment.

Black screen after installing a program

This script is extremely simple and almost exactly repeats the steps of the previous section, so most readers have most likely already guessed how to remove the Windows 7 black screen that appeared after installing new software. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Following the instructions from the previous section, start the computer in safe mode.
  2. Click “Start” -> “Control Panel”.
  3. Find “Programs and Features” and click on it.
  4. A list of programs and components appears, presented in table form. You need to sort the list by installation date by clicking on the corresponding column, then start searching for programs that were installed on the day the black screen appeared.
  5. Select required component by clicking once with the left mouse button and clicking the “Delete” button that appears.

After this, you should restart the computer and evaluate the result.

Black screen caused by changing system settings

There are times when uninstalling the program that caused the black screen to appear is not enough. Many of the programs as well official updates from Microsoft, in addition to copying your own files to HDD, change some system parameters. If this is exactly what happened to you, and you don’t know how to remove the Windows 7 black screen and restore old settings, you need to do the following:

  • following the instructions from the previous section, start the computer in safe mode;
  • Click the “Start” button and enter the word “recovery” in the search bar;
  • in the results that appear, select “System Restore” by left-clicking once;
  • in the window that appears, click “Next”;
  • select the restore point to which you want to roll back the system and click “Next” again, then “Finish”.

There is no need to worry about the safety of files created after the date to which we decided to roll back: files created by the user will not be affected during recovery. All that remains is to wait for the operation to complete and boot the computer again.

When nothing helps

If all the methods described above did not help in any way, and you still do not know how to remove the black screen of Windows 7, you should think about radical measures. Ordinary users can seek help from specialized service centers, where professionals will save you from this mistake. More advanced users can try reinstalling Windows. Although this measure requires some knowledge and preparation, it guarantees one hundred percent success in getting rid of the black screen. In any of the scenarios you choose, you should do backup copy necessary files, logging into the system in safe mode, and only after that take decisive action.

When critics try to explain that Windows 7 is not such a perfect platform, they usually nod to the blue screen of death, which has become a common problem. But now a new scourge has appeared in the camp of Windows users - the black screen of death, the so-called BlSoD.

What is it? When you turn on the computer, after it starts loading, the screen goes blank, as if it was disconnected from the network. Sometimes the monitor does not turn off and the cursor is visible, but nothing can be controlled.

Especially many complaints about the black screen were received after Windows updates 7 and MS Office in November 2009. Microsoft undertook an investigation, but in the end their representative said that their updates had nothing to do with it, and since then the problem has been ignored.

Causes and consequences of a black screen

Apparently, the main reason is viruses and malware, software failures or even hardware failure - users often encountered such problems back in the days when Windows itself did not exist.

How serious is the black screen when loading windows 7? Can it be compared to the blue screen of death? Hardly, these are two fundamentally different problems. Blue screen When loading, it usually indicates an irreparable hardware failure, and the black screen of death is easily fixed; in the worst case, you will just have to reinstall Windows 7 from scratch.

You can select a specific date of a successful configuration and try to restore the system, returning to the state when the black screen of death had not yet appeared.

Don't worry about losing documents created after the restore date - they won't be affected.

  • After turning on the computer, without waiting for the boot to start, press the F8 key and select safe mode in the boot options using the arrows.
  • Open the recovery utility. To do this, click the start button, type “system restore” in the search bar and press enter.
  • Select the item of the same name from the list of results.
  • Follow the program's instructions, select the date when the computer started normally as a return point. The computer will restart.

Creating a new user

Sometimes a black screen of death occurs when the profile is corrupted Windows user 7. Turn on your computer again in safe mode and create a new one.

  • Click on the start button and open control panel.
  • On the right side of the panel, in the “accounts” menu, click on the “adding and removing user accounts” item.
  • Select "create" account» and follow the instructions of the wizard. It is better to choose administrator privileges.
  • Restart your computer.

Reinstalling video drivers

Some users note that in their case the problem was caused by a problem with ATI Radeon video card drivers. However, computers with video chips from Nvidia sometimes also show a black screen of death.

  • Go to Control PanelSystem and SecuritySystem. To do this, you can press the key combination win+pause.
  • Go to Device Manager (the button on the left side of the window).
  • Select your video card from the list and call its properties (double click).
  • In the “driver” tab, remove existing drivers.
  • Go to the manufacturer's website and download fresh drivers, then install them. If you do not have Internet access, install them from disk.
  • Restart your computer in standard mode.

Black screen fix

If the tips listed above did not help and the problem is not caused by video drivers, try using free program Black Screen Fix ( current version 3.0.5.28). It was released almost immediately after complaints about a black screen when loading Windows 7 appeared and helps in a large number of cases.
