Honest and detailed review iPhone 11 Pro.

iPhone 11 Pro - best smartphone on the planet right now. I came to this conclusion after spending two weeks with the new product. I studied it closely, tested it in various conditions, and, of course, paid special attention to the camera. However, the iPhone 11 Pro does have its downsides. One of them basically kills the desire to buy a smartphone. Told me everything in detail and honestly iPhone review 11 Pro.

Where to buy iPhone 11 Pro at the best price

Quite unexpectedly, there are already promotions for purchasing the iPhone 11 Pro!

At Beeline, purchasing an iPhone 11 Pro is available on an interest-free installment plan. You can also get an additional discount when purchasing a smartphone through the trade-in program.

5. The buttons on the iPhone 11 Pro have moved a little lower. All at once, taking the SIM card slot for company. Only some Apple fanatic will say that this has improved convenience. In sober practice, there is no difference with the iPhone XS/X.

6. New case color. The iPhone 11 Pro came out in a new dark green color, in which the smartphone is posing in the photos in the review.

7. A secret change that few people noticed. 11 Pro buttons have a different click sound. The clicking became more pronounced and clear.

8. Dimensions and weight. iPhone 11 Pro is thicker and heavier compared to iPhone XS:

  • iPhone XS: 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm, 177 g.
  • iPhone 11 Pro: 144 x 71.4 x 8.1 mm, 188 g.

With “Maks” the same picture:

  • iPhone XS Max: 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm, 208 g.
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max: 158×77.8×8.1 mm, 226 g.

The difference in size is almost not felt. The thickness is already more noticeable. You can directly feel these 0.4 mm with your hand, but only if you have previously used the iPhone XS without a case. I asked my friends for their opinion on the thickness of the new iPhone. They say that " slightly thick" Nothing particularly negative.

Weight is a completely different story. The iPhone 11 Pro gained 11 grams compared to the iPhone XS. And the 11 Pro Max actually felt like it was “in the village with grandma.” Plus a whopping 18 grams.

These are the heaviest iPhones in history. And their weightiness is obvious. If you switch to 11 Pro from XS, the weight gain seems normal. But when you first pick up the 11 Pro after some “seven” with its 138 grams, at first you feel uneasy. Of course, you can get used to it. There's nothing complicated about it.

I won’t say that heavy weight is a minus new iPhones. This is the trend. Every year, smartphones acquire more and more modules and boards, which makes it difficult to become lighter.

And this is assuming that Apple is trying to make iPhones as light as possible. Just look at the new iPhone 11 Pro motherboard.

And if it's short?! The triple camera and dark green color are what clearly sets the iPhone 11 Pro apart from other iPhones. Is this not enough? Absolutely not! The camera really draws attention to itself. I caught people's gazes dozens of times when I took out my smartphone to take a photo. Of course, they weren't looking at me. The unusual triple camera instantly attracts the eye, especially those in the know.

Frosted glass. Pleasant to the fingers and eyes

The main change in terms of design of the iPhone 11 Pro is rear frosted glass. First of all, it looks different. The glass reflects less and does not attract fingerprints. It always looks neat, there is no need to endlessly wipe it.

But the biggest difference is in the tactile sensations from the glass. If you stroke the case with your finger, it glides directly over the matte surface of the case. Does not get stuck, as happens with glossy glass. The paradox is that the iPhone 11 Pro with a matte body fits more confidently in the hand and does not slip out.

I really liked the frosted glass. When you hold a smartphone in your hand, you feel its novelty. A year ago, when I first touched the iPhone XS after the iPhone X, there was nothing like this. The update in terms of design was as boring as possible.

The iPhone 11 Pro has the same design (remember the cycles). But due to the frosted glass there is a feeling of newness. For me it's very important indicator, especially for those who plan to switch to a smartphone from the iPhone 8/8 Plus and other newer models with glass bodies.

And if it's short?! Frosted glass - top! It looks cool and doesn't collect fingerprints; it slips less in your hand.

New dark green color. Discreet, stylish, in the spirit of Apple

iPhone 11 Pro is available in four colors: classic " gray space"and silver, slightly tuned gold and a completely new dark green, also known as Midnight Green. As soon as I saw the colors, I immediately knew - I’ll take green!

Apple created an amazing color, one might say premium. It is not striking, but looks stylish and modern. Not too bright, but not dull and faded either. The designers found a middle ground. If the green color were a little brighter, it would already be a bit childish. But there is nothing like that; after all, this is a Pro iPhone.

By the way, buying an iPhone 11 Pro in green turned out to be a real problem. I never expected a shortage of such expensive iPhones, so I was in no hurry to be one of the first to buy. And in vain.

A couple of days later I went to buy a dark green iPhone 11 Pro with 64 GB of memory, but it ran out. In one store, a second, a third. I visited about ten stores in the center of Moscow. And when patience was running out, there was one, last, iPhone 11 Pro in the store with the necessary memory and color.

And if it's short?! Conversations about design are always subjective. But I really liked the dark green color of the new iPhone. It looks fresh and Apple-like.

Equipment. Finally, normal charging!

Friends, it's done. In 2019, when at price flagship smartphones it became possible to purchase a trip to Goa or a good car, Apple included a normal charger in the iPhone box.

The 5W adapter is a thing of the past. It was replaced by a modern (almost) Charger with a power of 18 W! I was honestly happy when I unpacked my smartphone and saw this adapter. A smile appeared on his face. After all, here it is, a change of generations!

Moreover, the adapter itself is far from new. Apple has been selling it in its online store for several years, for quite decent money, I must say.

So, if you buy an iPhone 11 Pro with your last hard-earned money, spend until payday to purchase a normal one charging adapter you won't have to. You will be able to charge your smartphone quickly out of the box.

Oh yes, the USB-C to Lightning cable needed for this charging is included. Let me clarify just in case, because we are talking about Apple. This one could have sent for the cable to a nearby store.

And if it's short?!"Fast" charging "out of the box". Better late than never.

Display. Brighter and more contrasty - and this is noticeable without a microscope

Apple loves to release a new iPhone with a description like “the screen is juicier, brighter and cooler!” After the purchase, you look at the smartphone screen and don’t understand where the coolest thing is?

In the case of the iPhone 11 Pro, it's a different story. Let's start with the numbers.

The device is equipped with a Super Retina XDR display with a resolution of 2436x1125 pixels (458 ppi). Screen contrast is 2 000 000:1 , which is twice as much as the iPhone XS.

Display brightness in normal operation - 800 cd/m². If you watch content in HDR format, it increases to record levels 1200 cd/m². The iPhone XS has a more modest screen brightness in any mode - 625 cd/m².

Brightness and contrast are greater, but is this noticeable when using a smartphone in everyday life? Even before buying an iPhone, the thought crept in that there might not be a difference. But it turned out that there was room for improvement.

Saw huge difference between the screens of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone XS in comparison, taking both smartphones in hand. First I tested it at home, under artificial light. On the main screen with the splash screen and icons, everything seemed the same.

But as soon as we launched Safari and opened our site there, the difference literally caught our eye. The iPhone 11 Pro screen is 20% brighter! Against his background iPhone display XS appeared dull. But just a year ago one could only admire him.

The video from YouTube finished me off. Due to increased brightness and contrast, colors in videos began to look more saturated.

When I went outside, the effect of increased brightness was confirmed. On iPhone screen 11 Pro is more comfortable to view content, even if the direct rays of the sun fall on it. I won’t say that the iPhone XS display suddenly “turned into a pumpkin.” No, he's cool. But the updated iPhone 11 Pro display is cooler.

And if it's short?! The iPhone 11 Pro's display is actually the best among iPhones. Double the contrast and increased brightness make all the difference. It’s comfortable to watch any type of content outside on a sunny day; YouTube videos become juicier.

And the screen turns on very quickly

Whether it's because of the A13 processor or just some optimization, the iPhone 11 Pro's display responds instantly to touches or pressing the side power button. Compared with the iPhone XS, the difference is visible to the naked eye. The 11 Pro is a few fractions of a second faster.

It would seem like a small thing. But the screen “wakes up” faster, and unlocking using Face ID occurs faster, which, in turn, has also become faster.

The most valuable resource is time. And it is precisely this that all these improvements save. Alas, it is unlikely that anyone will calculate how many minutes or hours these changes will save in the iPhone 11 Pro compared to the iPhone XS, for example, over a year. I'm sure it'll be like this for a few hours.

Speed of work. So fast it's boring

iPhone 11 Pro features the latest A13 Bionic processor.

Let's look at the numbers right away, for fans:

1. Technical process 7nm N7 Pro(using extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV)).
2. 6 cores. 2 productive - 2.65 GHz, 4 energy efficient - frequency unknown.
3. 40% faster than A12.
4. 4 graphics cores. 20% faster than A12.
5. 8.5 billion transistors. 23% more than A12.
6. Machine learning system Neural Engine 3rd generation. 20% faster and consumes 15% less energy.

In general, the chip " faster, higher, stronger" But is there any difference in speed with the iPhone XS?

Honestly, I tried to discern the differences when performing ordinary tasks. There are none, and that's it! Any movement around the interface, launching VK, YouTube, Instagram, Safari, any other ordinary applications - all this happens at the same speed.

And this is not a problem with the iPhone 11 Pro. It’s just that Apple has hit the ceiling in terms of “live” performance. Some Instagram launches in a split second. Well, how much faster?

However, the iPhone 11 Pro is still faster. I noticed this in games. All sorts of heavy games load faster. IN in some cases for 5-6 seconds, in most cases - for 1-2 seconds.

I agree not impressive. But available in iPhone 11 Pro new processor there are several compelling reasons. You can't argue with them.

1. Energy efficiency. It is precisely because the chip “eats” less that the smartphone lasts significantly longer. We’ll talk about autonomy separately, it’s very interesting.

2. Unique Deep Fusion shooting mode. The A13 processor and third-generation Neural Engine make this innovative mode a reality. Many photos with its use will be below. You will be surprised.

3. Night mode. And it also became real on the iPhone thanks to the new processor. There’s a complete “head off” there.

It would be possible to make such modes on older processors? An extremely interesting question, you will agree. Apple itself says that no, it’s not possible, only on new iPhones, please buy! Third-party developers who could lift the veil of secrecy remain silent. A real mystery, the solution to which we are unlikely to find out in the coming years.

In synthetic iPhone testing The 11 Pro has no equal. Check out the difference.

Geekbench 4

  • iPhone 11 Pro - 5472/13095 points in single-core and multi-core modes.
  • iPhone XS - 4786/11052 points.

Geekbench 5

  • iPhone 11 Pro - 1336/3523 points in single-core and multi-core modes.
  • iPhone XS - 1111/2322 points.

Metal (graphics benchmark)

  • iPhone 11 Pro - 29025 points.
  • iPhone XS - 20968 points.

iPhone 11 Pro is the fastest smartphone in the world. He took this title from the iPhone XS. And, most likely, it will hold on until the release of the iPhone 12. This happens with new iPhones every year.

And if it's short?! The speed of the iPhone 11 Pro is the highest. But this is not very impressive, since we have hit a performance ceiling. Despite this, the A13 Bionic chip is an innovation. Thanks to him, smartphones now have shooting modes that will make your hair stand on end. You will see this again. And, of course, time battery life. The chip is very energy efficient, which is why the iPhone 11 Pro lasts longer.

There is no more memory. And it is necessary?

The amount of RAM and internal memory in the iPhone 11 Pro has not changed compared to the iPhone XS. RAM capacity - 4 GB, ROM - 64, 256 or 512 GB. The same applies to the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I believe, that there's no problem with that. There was no more memory, but was there any serious need for it? Release an iPhone with a terabyte of memory? For whom?

More RAM? Applications and even heavy games are stored in random access memory iPhone 11 Pro has been running for almost a whole day. 8, 10, 12 GB of RAM is not for the iPhone. At least for now. There is absolutely no need for them. Let them play around with gigabytes Chinese manufacturers, they are more needed there.

The only adequate complaint I've heard is the basic amount of memory. Many say that 64 GB in 2019 on a smartphone is a joke. Personally, I don't agree. These 64 GB are enough for your eyes.

Here is an example from life. During the first days of testing, I took a couple of thousand photos and shot several dozen videos with 4K resolution. The materials took up about 15 GB of memory, which I later freed in 10 minutes by sending photos and videos to the computer.

And if it's short?! There is no more memory and there is no need for it. Everything is fine with memory.

Face ID. There are major improvements, but not ideal

The speed of Face ID has been increased by 30%, and the scanner has learned to detect the owner’s face from a greater angle. That's what Apple says.

What's in reality? Yes, Face ID is faster on the iPhone 11 Pro. It was not possible to measure 30% or only 20%. This is hardly possible without the use of special equipment and a small team of scientists. But the acceleration is there, and can be seen when comparing the 11 Pro and XS side by side.

The updated Face ID feature actually recognizes faces from more angles. Slightly move the iPhone to the left, right, or even up/down, the scanner seems to “reach out” and successfully identify you.

But the response range of Face ID remains the same. At arm's length, both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone XS do not find their faces. In other words, about the range - this is a marketing ploy.

I have never had any complaints about the stability of Face ID. Moreover, I think ( and I'm trying to prove to everyone) that Face ID is many times better than the outdated Touch ID and all fingerprint scanners in principle. Therefore, I did not notice any sharp increase in the stability of Face ID in the iPhone 11 Pro.

An improved scanner may still not find my face “right in front of my face.” But only the first time. Repeated scan request - boom, the blocking is lifted. This happened in the iPhone X, in the iPhone XS and remains in the iPhone 11 Pro.

And if it's short?! Face ID in the iPhone 11 Pro detects the face from more specific angles. This is a nice bonus. But there is no “wow” effect from the updated scanner.

Battery life. Here it’s banal RESPECT

Everything in the world is cyclical. 7-8 years ago we laughed at users of Android smartphones who did not leave the sockets. 4-5 years ago, on the contrary, everyone laughed at iPhone users and their batteries up to 2000 mAh. Now iPhone fans are back on the horse.

iPhone 11 Pro is a real long-liver. It is equipped with a battery capacity 3046 mAh, which allows the smartphone to work up to 24 hours (!) in conversation mode when using a headset. This is official information from Apple.

I didn’t talk on the phone for a day, but I actively used my smartphone. Even in the first days, when I was constantly shooting, testing new modes, simply testing various applications and looking for unusual settings, the iPhone 11 Pro did not completely discharge. Only at the end of the first day the charge remained at 15%. In subsequent days from 30% and above.

In recent days, when I already use the smartphone in everyday mode, by the evening sometimes more than 50% of the charge remains.

And if it's short?! Battery life is super! Only gamers who for some reason play away from a power outlet will be able to discharge a smartphone in a day.

Sound. Now it's spacious and easy to hear

The stereo speakers in the iPhone 11 Pro have been improved. There are two changes you should be aware of. First, the speakers received updated sound with simulated surround sound. 3D sound can also be heard when listening to music. Moreover, for this it is not necessary to download songs in any special format.

Surround sound iPhone speakers 11 Pro appears in magnified form dynamic range and more noticeable transitions between tones. You can clearly understand what the difference is by directly comparing the sound with the iPhone XS. The sound of the latter is downright “flat”. In older ones iPhone models, accordingly, too.

Not everyone noticed the second change. When you listen to music on iPhone XS, high frequencies come only from the top of the smartphone. No other way. The iPhone 11 Pro has better treble balance. They come out both from the top and bottom of the smartphone.

And if it's short?! The sound is more spacious and high frequencies are balanced between the stereo speakers. And all this is easy to hear. You don't need to be a music lover for this.

See our detailed review of iPhone 11 Pro cameras. Many examples of photos and videos.

Go, the most interesting part! The new iPhone 11 Pro is equipped with a three-camera system:

  • 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle with a viewing angle of 120° (ƒ/2.4 aperture),
  • 12-megapixel wide-angle (ƒ/1.8 aperture),
  • 12-megapixel telephoto camera (ƒ/2.0 aperture) with optical image stabilization.

Compared to its predecessors, the smartphone now has an ultra-wide-angle camera. Televik received a new lens with an immediately enlarged by 40% aperture and support for optical image stabilization. What does it mean? And what the iPhone 11 Pro can shoot:

  • with a wide angle
  • with ultra wide angle,
  • ordinary photos with greatly improved quality.

We add to this new unique shooting modes. Night mode, which allows you to release the shutter in complete darkness and get an adequate shot; and mode Deep Fusion, which improves photographs under artificial light using a completely unique technique.

Let's see how the iPhone 11 Pro can shoot. All pictures are clickable - click and see the originals.

Photo on iPhone 11 Pro. Daytime shooting

We start with pictures in excellent daylight. Above is an example of a shot taken with a telephoto lens. The camera did a wonderful job with such a complex shot. Pay attention to the detail... anywhere! Tree foliage, domes, background. All objects have excellent detail. I draw a conclusion looking ahead. In excellent natural light (on a sunny day outside), the iPhone 11 Pro will produce photos with excellent quality. The best among iPhones.

The same shot with a wide-angle lens. The frame is noticeably expanded. In addition to the temple, it included the road, nearby houses and other objects. What about quality? There are no complaints about the detailing of the temple and relatively nearby objects. But in the corners of the image, detail has dropped noticeably. But, of course, to do this you need to zoom in on the photo on a computer. It’s just that, in the general plan, you won’t notice the drop in detail.

Bam! These are the photos the iPhone 11 Pro takes using its ultra-wide-angle lens. And no, I did not run 15 meters away from the subject. I stood still and simply switched modes. Everything was included in the frame. If you look at the photo in normal mode, it looks cool. If you specifically bring it closer, then defects are visible, without which not a single ultra-wide photo is complete. Buildings, lanterns and people at the edges of the frame glanced sideways, relatively insignificant.

One more example.

I said about detailing, now I want to pay attention to color rendition. Apple holds its own. The colors in all the pictures are real.. There is no artificial processing, which is especially clearly visible in the photographs of the temple. Take a similar photo on some Chinese device. In most cases, the image will look like something out of a children's coloring book.

The same applies to shots taken with wide-angle cameras. The colors are identical everywhere, even check with a pipette.

In other words, Apple is great again. The company didn’t give a damn about those who say that “Chinese” pictures turn out brighter. Yes, bright, but not real. If I want to make my photos artificially bright, I will use filters. And the rest of the time you need the camera to take honest photos. The iPhone 11 Pro handles this.

Another good example honesty of the camera. In this shot, the sun's rays illuminated the temple, it became brighter. This is how the camera captured him. The example clearly shows that the iPhone does not take “dull” pictures. He films reality.

What happens to a photo when the lighting gets worse? The camera does its job perfectly. Here are some illustrative examples. In the photo above, notice the detail throughout the frame. From the front it is clear - everything is fine. But look at the background, in particular, at the domes - the actual subject of photography. They are wonderfully detailed, even upon closer inspection. The building on the right, which has no use in the frame, also came out great. But this is just for show.

And one more example. In this picture I would like to draw your attention to the fact that there are still defects along the edges of the picture in low light. Still, Apple is not doing magic; it is far from absolute ideal.

Photo on iPhone 11 Pro. Morning shooting

The camera impressed me so much that I wanted to test it thoroughly early in the morning. And it was not in vain. The photos turned out fresh, just like that morning.

6:45 am, Moscow City. Photos with Deep Fusion mode enabled, which appeared in . Rich colors, excellent detail throughout the frame, absence of even barely visible noise reduction. Cool shots from the first release of the shutter. And it doesn’t matter that there is not enough lighting.

Similar shots from the same place.

I advise you to open the source and study any of the images in detail. You can clearly see that there are really no serious defects in the frame. And this is provided that the lighting leaves much to be desired.

But let's not be fanatical. No light - no show. This photo was taken at 6:30 am. The trees blocked the rising sun, causing the detail to drop. And lo and behold! The noise reduction work is visible at the edges of the frame. Bring the latest Huawei here, I'm changing to an iPhone! Just a joke, of course. Obviously, without normal lighting, you won’t get “tasty” shots.

« Or will they work out?“, I asked myself when I went out to shoot the next day at six in the morning. These photos were taken at 6:15, in Deep Fusion mode.

I can find fault here, but I won’t. The pictures turned out great and nice to look at. And even though the work of the noise reduction is clearly visible on the left side of the frame, these are all trifles. You can shoot on the iPhone 11 Pro early in the morning. It will turn out cool.

And if it's short?! The pictures taken during the day, in the evening and even in the early morning are beautiful! You can shoot at super-wide angles, but just as importantly, regular photos have gotten better.

Night shooting mode. The moment when you realize that you didn’t spend 100 thousand on a smartphone in vain

If for some reason you are reading this review while standing, have a seat. From the new night iPhone mode The 11 Pro can make your head spin. I'm serious.

Night mode is a key innovation in the iPhone 11 Pro camera. It fundamentally changes the understanding of what can be photographed with an iPhone and what cannot. The example above describes night mode best.

This photo was taken at night. When I looked at the picture in front of me, I was sure that it would turn out to be a terrible photo. These are usually removed immediately. This is a long-standing habit that has remained from all old smartphones. You think: “ It’s dark in front of me, I won’t get a good photo».

But the iPhone 11 Pro and its Night Mode changes everything. Now I can point my smartphone camera at a barely lit object in the middle of the night and get a mini-masterpiece. It is this understanding that is changing. Because suddenly you realize that you can take a photo in conditions in which you had never even thought about taking a photo before.

Okay, more examples. Yes, there are defects here, that's understandable. But I like this shot. And especially the way the iPhone captured the stars. How are they on topic here! The perfect addition to the frame.

I will still criticize this example. The foreground is completely dark, nothing is visible. The photo is not about him, but you always want more.

What's most impressive is that Night mode can be used for wide shots. By the way, few people talked about this. All Night Mode photos from Apple itself or reviewers captured some objects located near the camera. Even then, I wondered whether the iPhone 11 Pro could take equally cool photos of general plans. Our own practice has proven that it can.

A couple more great examples of night mode working. Again, look at the sky. The stars become visible - this is a very cool feature.

Of course, even night mode needs light. If you shoot in complete darkness, then the night mode will pull something out, but you won’t get a masterpiece.

How is this possible? The wide-angle camera matrix together with the A13 Bionic processor uses a specially designed system. First, the camera takes a whole series of pictures. We don’t notice this, since only a second passes, but the camera manages to take enough photos.

Then the processor is connected. It uses Apple algorithms to combine the resulting images. This process helps eliminate distortion.

Next comes contrast adjustment, color correction and noise removal. Have you noticed that the noise reduction work is almost invisible in night mode images? So this is all thanks to a special algorithm.

And if it's short?! Night mode changes the general understanding of what can and cannot be photographed. If before I didn’t take out my iPhone at all to shoot after eight in the evening, now I can take a great shot even late at night.

Video recording. Traditional quality, but still noisy at night

Note: All videos are available in 4K resolution at 60 fps.

Morning video shooting on iPhone 11 Pro

As I wrote earlier, I tested the camera even early in the morning. Lack of lighting does not in any way affect the quality of video recording. Take a look at the sample above. Detailing, color rendition and smooth camera movement are all at an excellent level.

Daytime video shooting on iPhone 11 Pro

A small sample that clearly demonstrates the iPhone 11 Pro’s shooting capabilities during the day in low natural light. The video does not show any defects.

The zoom, first optical and then digital, works perfectly. The camera hardly shakes when zoomed in. It is important to note here that I filmed everything hand-held. It should be better with a tripod.

This is the sample I like the most. He clearly shows how iPhone camera The 11 Pro captures a lot of small objects spread across the frame. And all this is in motion.

The sample demonstrates how the iPhone 11 Pro records multiple moving objects in one frame. Visible problems No.

Night video shooting on iPhone 11 Pro

Night photography on the iPhone 11 Pro has the same problems as previous models. The work of the noise reduction is quite visible. Yes, technology does not yet allow us to completely eliminate defects. But progress is needed. We will wait in iPhone 12.

And two more samples with the same meaning. WITH artificial lighting turn out at night normal videos. But there can be many improvements.

Bottom line. Best smartphone, but the price tag kills all the fun

iPhone 11 Pro is the best smartphone ever released. Proven design with nice tweaks like frosted glass, most powerful processor, unmatched battery life and an all-around amazing camera. A cool device, for which, alas, you need to pay at least 90 thousand rubles.

And it ruins everything. Yes, if there were “dollars at 30” everything would be different. But let's not live in a fantasy world. For most, the iPhone 11 Pro is too expensive if we talk about buying without installments or credit. This is the main disadvantage of the iPhone 11 Pro. Otherwise the smartphone is great.

All three new items are already on sale. But rumors and even some renders of the next generation iPhone 2018 have appeared on the Internet. It is not yet clear whether it will be the iPhone 9, iPhone 11 or just an iPhone. What is known is that the new product will receive a little bigger screen than his predecessors.

Design changes

Let's talk about the design of the future smartphone. Many designers and illustrators have already strained their brains to try to imagine and draw the design of the future Apple smartphone. But, usually, when some renderings and concepts appear, they rarely coincide with the final result of the device. As you can see in the renderings presented, in some the new product has changed almost nothing, while in others the design has changed radically.

Expected iPhone 11 Specifications

  • Display: 5.85 inches P-OLED, 2436×1125p, 458ppi
  • Processor: Apple A12
  • RAM: 4/6 GB LPDDR4
  • Flash memory: 64/256 GB
  • Main camera: 16 MP + 16 MP
  • Front camera: 7 MP
  • Wireless interfaces: Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi Dual Band 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz, NFC
  • Navigation: GPS, GLONASS
  • Charging port: Apple Lightning
  • Operating system: iOS 12
  • Battery: 2616 mAh
  • Case materials: metal/glass
  • Features: Face ID and Touch ID

What will the screen be like?

iPhone 11 will be made of metal and glass. It will receive a frameless 5.85-inch screen with a P-OLED matrix and a resolution of 2436 × 1125p. This information is confirmed by an anonymous source, who stated back in May of this year that Apple company and Samsung have signed an agreement to supply OLED panels for iPhone next year and that they will come in 5.28- and 6.46-inch sizes.

In August of the same year, it became known that the 5.28-inch screen was canceled. And that the next generation of smartphone will have a diagonal of 5.85 and 6.45 inches. If we compare with recently released devices whose screens do not meet these parameters, then drawing conclusions, we can assume that these panels will be in the iPhone 11.

From all this we can conclude that the company will strive to increase the display of the new product, while the body will most likely be much smaller than the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. And we will see a new design in the iPhone X, but with a slightly larger screen and smaller frames.

Touch ID

In the iPhone X, Apple has built in its new Face ID facial scanning technology, but at the same time got rid of the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Yes, new system Device protection is more secure, but it is still slower than a simple fingerprint scanner. Back in 2013, the company received a patent for a Touch ID fingerprint scanner on the display. The technology meant that you placed your finger on the screen, not on the Home button.

It is difficult to say whether this patent was related to the first iPhone 5S, which had a built-in fingerprint scanner, or whether it was a new technology that would replace the scanner location that is familiar to everyone now. But if we talk about the patent itself, it described a display with a sensitive surface for a fingerprint that could be used by several users at once.

For example, this technology would allow certain individuals to open certain applications. This would be useful for parents whose children often play with their work iPad. Or the company could go even further and use the developments to learn how to play the piano with the correct placement of fingers on the instrument. So it is likely that in the next generation of smartphone we will see a scanner built directly into the screen.

Support for 5G networks

One of important events V iPhone history became the presence of 3G in the second generation model. With the launch of the iPhone 5, Apple fans got 4G. Now it seems that 5G networks can quite realistically be present in the new generation of smartphones, given that testing of these networks is now ending in some countries.

According to Business Insider, Apple has created its own application for performance testing cellular communication in networks of direct and multichannel exchange between transmitters and receivers base station using the 28 GHz and 39 GHz bands approved for wireless technology 5G. These assessments will provide engineering data relevant to device performance on wireless carriers' future 5G networks.

5th generation networks will provide even greater speed mobile internet connections. IN currently There are no standards for deploying 5G networks. Although many companies are already working on harmonizing technologies and specifications. So perhaps the iPhone 11 will be the first device to support mobile network new generation.

L-shaped battery from LG

Korea Economic Daily claims that Apple has selected LG as the exclusive battery supplier for its next-generation smartphone, due in 2018. According to the source, LG has invested hundreds of billions of dollars in battery production and the company will be ready to begin full-scale production in early 2018, in time for the iPhone 11 announcement.

And that is not all. The report also claims that Apple's next-generation device will use a curved battery module similar to the English letter "L". If this turns out to be true, this will be the first time that Apple abandons the rectangular lithium-ion batteries that were installed on every iPhone. They say that this form batteries will increase internal space and also increase charging speed.

Release date and cost in Russia and the world

Apple releases a new generation of its smartphone every fall. iPhone 11 will be no exception. The new product will most likely be shown to the world in September 2018. If we take into account the pre-order for the new iPhone X, which was postponed for a month, then the announcement of the future device may be postponed. But this is all unlikely, especially if the design of the device is not radically changed.

According to an article in Chinese in the Economic Daily newspaper, Apple will reduce prices on its future new products due to the dissatisfaction of many users and will try to sell premium devices at reduced prices. But how is the company going to achieve this? One smartphone will be a cheaper version of its older brother, with slightly reduced functions, but in a frameless design.

Of course, this all sounds very tempting and interesting. But Apple can still focus on one device so as not to repeat the story of the delay of the recently introduced iPhone X. So we can only wait. After all, there is still a lot of time and everything can change dramatically.

What to expect from an Apple device in 2018

  • iOS 12 on board
  • Glass and metal body
  • Frameless display
  • Apple A12 processor
  • Dust and moisture protection of the housing according to IP68 standard
  • In-screen fingerprint scanner (Touch ID)
  • 3D face scanner (Face ID)
  • Wireless charging
  • Fast charging
  • New L-shaped battery

Many Apple fans already know what the long-awaited iPhone 11 will be like, because photos of prototype models have recently been leaked. Well, you can find out the exact price and purchase the popular gadget this fall. When is the release date of the new iPhone model in 2019 in Russia?

iPhone 11 release date

Most analysts agree that the release of a new model will traditionally include two stages. The first is a presentation dedicated to describing all the features of the gadget. It is expected to take place in September 2019.

This conclusion is based on the experience of past years. Since 2005, presentations have taken place at the end of the first - beginning of the second week of the month. In addition, almost all dates fall on Tuesday or Wednesday.

  • 2012 - September 12 (Wed);
  • 2013 - September 10 (Tue);
  • 2014 - September 9 (Tue);
  • 2015 - September 9 (Wed);
  • 2016 - September 7 (Wed);
  • 2017 - September 12 (Tue);
  • 2018 - September 12 (Wed).

This year the 10th and 11th fall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Since September 11 is considered a day of mourning, it is logical to assume that the presentation will take place exactly 10.

As for the start of sales, they traditionally begin 10 days after the presentation of the new model to the public. Thus, the iPhone 11 will hit the global market no earlier than the end of the month.

If the situation of previous years repeats, then first the predecessor will appear on the shelves - the tenth iPhone model. And only after that a new generation of smartphones will go on sale. Presumably, the pre-order option will become available within a week, most likely from the 13th-14th.

On this moment This is all the information regarding the expected release date of the iPhone 11. Next, we’ll touch on the price, leaked photos and some technical features.

Names of new models

The model name of the new iPhone is as much a mystery to the public as appearance devices. The general public chose the iPhone XI and iPhone 11 as the main options. The name of the previous model serves as confirmation of the first theory. Instead of classic numbering, Apple switched to Roman numerals. In addition, continuing continuous numbering is practically impossible, since model number 9 does not exist.

However, there remains a possibility that the model will be called iPhone 11.

There is a third, no less popular version. Due to the confusion of names and numbers, the company can radically change the designation system by assigning a unique name to the smartphone.

However, it will be possible to get acquainted with the iPhone 11 model in Russia no earlier than the end of September 2019, if the expected release date turns out to be correct. We can also find out information regarding the assigned number at the last moment.

Specifications of iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max

Almost nothing is known about the new Apple product. Official sources are silent, but the network is regularly updated with leaked information, which contains not only the estimated price and date, but also photos of the iPhone 11. Based on these pictures, many assumptions have been made regarding the main characteristics of the gadget.

Design of the new iPhone 2019

Today, most assumptions regarding the design are based on a few photographs of prototypes and blanks, supposedly for the manufacture of cases. However, back in January of this year it was known that the design had not yet been approved, so the photos may no longer be relevant.

The new iPhone may have a lot of changes, including having square edges (like the recently released iPad Pro). According to other sources, the flagship may acquire the latest flexible display. The company, according to some sources, recently spent a lot of money on the development of such technology.

However, if all the information leaked online is correct, then the eleventh model will have more advanced technical characteristics.

iPhone 11 will have a 12-megapixel front camera

It was the concept of the camera that became the most controversial moment for many fans of the brand. Many photographs show that they plan to place it on a separate protruding pedestal. In this case, the number of lenses will increase to three.

This design will primarily allow you to capture more light and shoot in low-light areas. In addition, zoom capabilities will increase. This camera device opens up possibilities for shooting in 3D format by determining the depth of the picture.

As for the resolution, it can be left unchanged at 12 megapixels. However, some data suggests an increase to 14 megapixels, at least for the two main cameras. The third will be auxiliary, with a resolution of about 10 megapixels.

However, it is not known for certain whether all new iPhones will have such a camera or only iPhone version XI Max.

Not much more information about the front camera. It will also be left in the center of the screen, but the “unibrow” allocated for it, according to the developers, will be noticeably narrowed. Regarding permission, informants disagree. According to some sources it will be 10, according to others - 12 megapixels.

Shots of iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max mockups with triple cameras

The leaked images of mock-ups of the new iPhone 11 caused virtually no emotions among the public. They didn't give potential buyers any new information. However, some theories were confirmed. In particular, rumors about a triple camera, as well as concerns about the size of the “unibrow”, which they have already promised to make.

Such an innovation will certainly hit the price of the iPhone 11. However, you shouldn’t take the photo seriously before the release in 2019.

iPhone 11 processor and memory

ABOUT technical capabilities Almost nothing is known about the new iPhone. Most likely, the package will include an A13 Bionic processor. However, there is no information about its capabilities and the number of cores on the network.

Display

Most likely the latest model Apple flagship will have a high-definition OLED display. The diagonal will remain the same - 5.8 and 6.5 inches for the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max, respectively. However, the screen itself may become wider due to a smaller frame. The frame refresh rate will also increase. It will be 90 Hz for background mode and 120 Hz for applications and games.

Which is better, iPhone XI, iPhone 11 or iPhone Pro?

About how best to name new iPhone the controversy continues to this day. However, according to some sources, it can be called precisely iPhone Pro. The prefix Pro in this case fully describes the latest technology that is supposed to be implemented. It consists of the latest “ProMotion” type screen, which can produce a frame rate of 120 Hz.

iPhone 11 price in 2019

Sales of the previous generation of smartphones were at record lows. This forced Apple management to seriously think about reducing prices for their own products. However, due to the large number of new technologies that are planned to be introduced, you should not expect a price change in the most budget-friendly direction.

Below is an approximate price range for iPhone 11 in Russia, based on all technical innovations, a new photo and video camera, estimated processor power and configuration.

  • iPhone 11 64 GB - 80 thousand rubles;
  • iPhone 11 256 GB - 94 thousand rubles;
  • iPhone 11 512 GB - 111 thousand rubles;
  • iPhone 11 Max 64 GB - 89 thousand rubles;
  • iPhone 11 Max 256 GB - 103 thousand rubles;
  • iPhone 11 Max 512 GB - 120 thousand rubles.

Prices are given in rubles, therefore, by September they can change greatly, as well as the dollar exchange rate. Besides, this list does not take into account product taxation and point of sale surcharges.

In conclusion, it is worth noting that the information presented may no longer be relevant after the official presentation. A large amount of data, relatively the latest developments is kept in the strictest confidence and many leaks of information may turn out to be intentional in order to mislead the public.

Let us remind you that the release date of iPhone 11 in Russia is scheduled for the end of September - beginning of October 2019.

Apple has unveiled the iPhone 11, which will be available in a new set of different colors. Apple believes that "the innovations in iPhone 11 are truly amazing." The glass on the front and back is ionized. According to the company, this is the most durable glass for smartphones (both front and back). The smartphone has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display with Haptic Touch support. New immersive sound technology is also available. There is also support for Dolby Atmos. The smartphone is available in lilac, white, red, green, black and yellow colors.

Given reports of falling demand for iPhones, Apple will clearly have to work hard to make its 2019 flagships attractive to fans of the brand. We'll tell you what to expect from the iPhone XI, and what features we won't see for at least another year.

Everything we know about the 2019 iPhone – XI / XT / 11

release date

Apple announced the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR on September 12, 2018, but the release dates for these models differed. Thus, the iPhone XS and XS Max were available for pre-order from September 14 and went on sale on September 21. At the same time, pre-orders for the iPhone XR opened only on October 19, and the release took place a week later, on October 26.

If Apple sticks to its usual schedule, the presentation of the new iPhones will take place on Tuesday, September 10. Pre-orders will most likely open on September 13, and the new items will go on sale on September 20.

Name

Apple deviated from the usual naming pattern in 2017 when it announced the iPhone X (as “iPhone ten”), then in 2018 we got the iPhone XS and iPhone XR (“iPhone ten es” and “iPhone ten era”, respectively). That is, Apple moved from the iPhone 8 straight to the iPhone XR, and we never saw the iPhone 9.

Given the appearance of X in the names, it has become more difficult to guess what the 2019 iPhones will be called. iPhone XI or iPhone 11 (and, accordingly, iPhone XI Max or iPhone 11 Max) are most likely, but the name of the updated iPhone XR remains a mystery.

Less popular options include the iPhone XT and simply a “new iPhone” with no numbering at all (as the company now does with standard iPads).

At the same time, Apple may choose a completely new name, as it did with the iPhone X, and due to the fact that only code names are used in production and commercial names are never disclosed, there is no point in expecting insiders to reveal the secret here.

Design: Notch or Not Notch?

Most analysts agree that the design of the flagship model will remain the same as the iPhone XS. And this means that the notch, which appeared in 2017 and migrated to 2018 iPhones, will remain with us in 2019.

But the notch itself will most likely shrink.

A report published by ETNews reports that Apple conducted great job on combining the front camera and Face ID components as much as possible. Thanks to this, engineers were able to reduce the size of the modules and sensors located at the top of the display and reduce the size of the notch.

Or maybe do away with the notch altogether? This is, of course, unlikely, but the chances are still not zero.

Hopes for this appeared in March 2018, when Apple patented a smartphone design without a notch in the display. Interestingly, in the patent description, Apple admits that front camera modules integrated into the display may be “aesthetically unattractive.”

Following this, the Dutch blog MobileKopen discovered another patent that describes a method for placing camera modules and Face ID sensors in holes in the display. In January, Face ID component supplier AMS announced technology that could reduce the size of the notch. Of all of the above, it is most likely that the latest development will be used in the 2019 iPhone.

Specifications of iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max

In addition to design changes, it is expected that new iPhone generation will also be the most powerful in history. In particular, we are waiting new processor, next-generation cameras, improved performance and power efficiency, and possibly a new connector and Apple Pencil support.

Display

Over the past few years, Apple has been working with different OLED display manufacturers to reduce its reliance on Samsung. It is this South Korean company that supplies displays for Phone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. In particular, Apple considered the possibility of cooperation with Japan Display, and also stimulated LG Display to develop an OLED division, and also purchased equipment for the production of such displays in Taiwan.

It is reported that Apple plans to completely abandon LCD and equip OLED displays with even more budget models, but it is unknown whether this will happen in 2019, since OLED is still quite expensive to produce. Rumors are divided: some claim that this year we will see LCD in the younger model, others say that OLED will rule the roost in this generation.

One way or another, the flagship iPhone XI (or whatever Apple calls it) will definitely have an OLED display, and most likely even thinner and lighter than the iPhone XS, thanks to Samsung's Y-OCTA technology, which integrates the touchscreen into the display. It is unlikely that this will have a strong impact on the thickness, since these displays were not thick anyway, but Apple is attracted to this technology as a way to reduce the cost of production.

As for 3D Touch, it was not in last year’s iPhone XR and there is information that in 2019 it will not be in any of the models. This was reported by Blaine Curtis, an analyst at Barclays. The Wall Street Journal agreed with him and added that all three 2019 iPhones will most likely “inherit” the technology introduced with the iPhone XR.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo noted that 3D Touch will disappear from iPhones because it increases the cost of devices, but does not add enough new functionality and is not very popular.

A13 processor

Apple has been collaborating with Taiwan Semiconductor (TSMC) for several years to develop new processors for the iPhone, and it doesn't look like the pattern will change this year. Industry analysts reported back in August 2018 that Apple had signed a contract to supply processors for the next generation of iPhones exclusively with TSMC.

Little is known about the Apple A13, except that it will be made using a 7nm process technology with ultraviolet lithography and will be even more powerful than the Apple A12 Bionic in the iPhone XS and XS Max. In addition to the standard improvements in overall performance and graphics power, we're also expecting another leap in machine learning using Apple's neural engine, which will enable next-generation AR applications.

There will be no 5G (but there will be Wi-Fi 6)

While some manufacturers will release their first 5G smartphones later this year - including Samsung, LG and OnePlus - it looks like Apple will once again be slow to innovate. A report from Bloomberg shows that we likely won't see 5G support in iPhones until 2020. And this can hardly be called critical, because in 2019, operators are just beginning to deploy 5G infrastructure, and it will not be possible to catch 5G everywhere, even if your smartphone can work in these networks.

On the other hand, the 2019 iPhone has Wi-Fi 6, which will provide more fast internet now, and not when Russian operators finally prepare the 5G network for operation.

Cameras

As already mentioned, the appearance of the iPhone XI will be practically no different from last year’s iPhone XS, but the devil, as they say, is in the details. In particular, one of the three 2019 iPhones (most likely, we are talking about the updated iPhone XS Max) will have a camera. And this, surprisingly, is a problem because triple camera from Apple look at least unusual:

Fortunately, leak hunter @OnLeaks reported that Apple itself has still not decided on the design of this year's flagship, and two prototypes are currently being developed in parallel, of which only one will be used in the final product. He also attached a rendering of the second design, which, let's be honest, looks much more ergonomic than the option with a square module:

One way or another, it is obvious that it will be quite difficult for Apple to convince users that this smartphone with a design that we have seen for the third year in a row is truly innovative. Therefore, playing on visual differences (especially one as catchy as a square camera) and an additional lens for better pictures and videos is an excellent marketing move.

At the same time, the regular iPhone XI will receive a dual camera, like its predecessor, but the sensor itself will be better. So, the Indian site CompareRaja, what resolution will the lenses of the “regular” iPhone XI have: 14 and 10 megapixels. Since Apple previously relied on a 12-megapixel main module, the new camera will indeed be able to show better results. The characteristics of the third module in the iPhone XI Max have not yet been disclosed.

According to The Korea Herald, Apple is “considering” adding Apple Pencil support to the next-generation iPhone. The same is reported by another South Korean publication, The Investor (although its authority is much more controversial compared to THH). However, Kuo also reported that Apple Pencil support is possible in the iPhone 2019. Note that there is a possibility that only the iPhone XI Max will receive stylus support - just like Samsung adds the S Pen only to the Note series flagships.

USB-C instead of Lightning?

Jean Baptiste Su, an analyst at Atherton Research, believes that Apple will abandon Lightning and move to a USB-C port in the new iPhones, as it already did with the iPad Pro 2018. However, rumors about this are quite contradictory.

Thus, the Japanese site Mac Otakara also believes that the iPhone 2019 could potentially receive USB-C port, based on information from insiders. For now, Apple can still change its decision on which port to use in new models, so the situation here is the same as in the case of the arrangement of camera modules in the iPhone XI Max.

According to Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @OnLeaks), who claims to have information on 2019 iPhone prototypes, the new iPhones definitely use Lightning connectors.

01/11/2019, Fri, 15:25, Moscow time , Text: Elyas Qasmi

Apple's plans do not include layoffs model range smartphones, despite the failure that befell it with the iPhone 2018. But the lesson has been learned, and it will significantly modernize its new devices and, perhaps, reduce the cost.

"Apple" trio

Apple, despite the frankly weak sales of smartphones for the 2018 model year, also plans to release three smartphones in 2019. In 2019, it will show two flagship and one budget iPhone, The Wall Street Journal reports.

In fact, this year Apple will offer a complete analogue of last year’s line in terms of the number of gadgets and their positioning, but the devices themselves will receive more modern equipment.

Names of Apple smartphones 2019

According to the publication, new Apple smartphones will be released under the names iPhone XI, iPhone XI Max and iPhone XR 2019, where XI Max is the new flagship of the entire line and the descendant of the current XS Max. The iPhone XI will replace the iPhone XS, while the iPhone XR, which Apple calls the best-selling 2018 lineup despite production cuts, will be replaced by the 2019 XR. The names have not been confirmed at this time and may change toward the tentative September release date. 2019 announcement.

Distinctive features

Unlike the iPhone XS and XS Max, which were almost completely copied from the iPhone X two years ago, the new iPhone XI and XI Max will be more different from their predecessors. According to available data, the older iPhone XI Max will be equipped with a triple main camera, which, however, even the Huawei P20 Pro, which debuted in March last year, has. The third sensor will be equipped with ultra-wide-angle optics. The basis of the screen will again be an OLED matrix; the fate of the “unibrow” remains unknown.

The rear camera module in the iPhone XI will combine only two sensors, like the iPhone X and XS, but the resolution of both will increase. The screen uses OLED, potentially also without a cutout for the front camera.

Apple smartphones 2018 model year: iPhone XS, XS Max and XR

The biggest change will be the iPhone XR, which in 2018 offered the characteristics and design of a mid-class Android smartphone at the price of two Xiaomi Mi 8 flagships. The expected iPhone XR 2019 will abandon the IPS display in favor of an OLED matrix, and Apple will leave the single camera in the past – it was this that caused more complaints from users than even the ultra-wide screen frames. Instead, a full-fledged double module will be installed.

It’s too early to talk about prices for the new iPhones 2019 – there are still three quarters of a year before their announcement. Meanwhile, we can expect that there will be no increase in prices this time: it was the exorbitant prices for the 2018 line, which overcame all conceivable psychological barriers, that became the main reason for the drop in the company’s sales. At the time of release it cost from $1000, and the XS Max started from $1100 compared to $550 for the flagship OnePlus 6T and $500 for the original vertical slider Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.

Due to declining demand for smartphones, which generate a significant portion of its revenue, Apple lowered its revenue forecast for the first time in 16 years, and by 9%. The trade war with China and patent disputes with Qualcomm add fuel to the fire, which also negatively affects iPhone sales. In China, for example, many companies began to impose fines and even
