Fourth generation networks are now well developed in many countries around the world. Russia is no exception, where the majority of the population has access to high-speed Internet. For this reason, more and more Russian users want to choose a smartphone that supports LTE networks. However, often not only the specified parameter is important, but also other characteristics, such as cost, battery capacity or the quality of the main camera. We decided to make a rating of 4G smartphones, dividing all selected devices into several categories that are in greatest demand among buyers.

The best inexpensive smartphones with 4G in terms of price-quality ratio

The modern market is able to offer customers a huge number of devices from dozens of different brands. But if we consider the best smartphones equipped with a 4G module in terms of price and quality, then the entire TOP can be made up entirely of Chinese companies. This is explained by the enormous increase in quality and reliability that the entire Chinese industry has demonstrated. Such tangible progress could not go unnoticed, which is why smartphones from Huawei, Xiaomi and Lenovo today compete on equal terms with premium models from Samsung, LG and other global brands.

Xiaomi Redmi 4X

Picking up good smartphone with 4G support and dual SIM cards at a low price, buyers almost always prefer Xiaomi devices. This tremendous success is explained by the ideal ratio of cost and quality mobile phones with LTE support from the famous Chinese brand. Thus, the Redmi 4X model we are considering tactilely and visually feels very expensive, although it average price is only 9500 rubles. However, for the specified price, the user receives not only an excellent design, but also a high-quality 5-inch matrix with HD resolution and a good 13-megapixel main camera. Cheap compared to competitors Xiaomi phone It is also distinguished by the presence of an infrared port, which allows you to control televisions, air conditioners and other equipment. The hardware platform of the device is also excellent for the stated price: Snapdragon 435, Adreno 505, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory.

Advantages:

  • capacious battery (4100 mAh);
  • speed and productivity;
  • metal case;
  • work in all popular LTE bands;
  • amount of RAM and ROM;
  • bright and rich matrix.

Flaws:

  • not detected.

Huawei Honor 6A

Another worthy Chinese company is Huawei. This manufacturer can also boast of attention to detail, so even budget devices from this brand feel more expensive than their actual price. For example, the Honor 6A smartphone we selected for rating costs about 9 thousand rubles, but it is made of metal and equipped with high-quality protective glass covering a 5-inch HD screen. In terms of “stuffing”, this device is almost similar to its closest competitors. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, and for graphics and computing in quality smartphone Huawei's LTE is answered by the Adreno 505 and Snapdragon 430, respectively. The latter, by the way, is almost a complete analogue of the above-mentioned 435 “stone”, but there is no BIG.LITTLE technology, which allows the chip to switch between two sets of processors. However, thanks to a slight decrease in core frequency and an increase in RAM speed, both SoCs demonstrate approximately equal performance.

Advantages:

  • convenience and speed of work;
  • high-quality and bright matrix;
  • good cameras;
  • hardware platform;
  • tray for two SIM cards.

Flaws:

  • considering the price no.

Lenovo Vibe C2 Power

Inexpensive but good smartphone Lenovo Vibe C2 Power is perfect solution for those users who do not need frills. The model in question is equipped with an excellent 5-inch diagonal screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The manufacturer chose the energy-efficient MT6735P chip from MediaTek as the processor for the Vibe C2 Power, and in addition to it, Mali-T720 graphics were installed.

Built-in storage and RAM in mobile Lenovo phone 16 and 2 GB respectively, which is enough for most tasks. An important advantage of the presented model is a capacious 3500 mAh battery and support fast charging. By the way, the battery here is removable, which is not often found in modern gadgets. This feature allows you to carry a spare battery with you and easily replace it with a new one when worn out. However, due to this same nuance back cover The smartphone is made of plastic, which negatively affects rigidity and can lead to squeaks during use. Another disadvantage of the Lenovo Vibe C2 Power is the low-quality protective glass, on which scratches can appear after several months of careful use.

Advantages:

  • great price;
  • Battery capacity;
  • fast charging support;
  • performance of the device;
  • high quality matrix.

Flaws:

  • plastic back cover;
  • bad protective glass.

The best smartphones with 4G and a powerful battery

The main disadvantage of many modern mobile devices is their poor battery life. Even under moderate load, some smartphones can sit down before evening, forcing users to constantly carry Charger or power bank. Fortunately, today the market offers a simple and convenient solution to this problem. To stop being a “hostage to the outlet” you just need to buy a smartphone with a good battery. Especially for our readers, we have selected three of the best gadgets with excellent battery, capable of easily working for several days on a single charge.

OUKITEL K10000 Pro

In the first position in the ranking of smartphones with capacious battery located an exceptional model. Even with a great desire, you will not be able to find more than a couple of worthy competitors for the K10000 Pro under consideration from the OUKITEL brand. There is a huge 10 thousand mAh battery installed here! Of course, this battery capacity requires increased size and weight, so the buyer will need to be prepared to use a 288 gram, 14mm thick phone. However, after 33 days of autonomy in standby mode, even with the LTE networks this shortcoming may be considered too insignificant to pay attention to.

The hardware component of the OUKITEL K10000 Pro also did not let us down. Although the smartphone is budget, there is a high-quality 5.5-inch Full HD matrix, covered with durable protective glass, as well as a good 13 MP camera. However, the sensor is made by a little-known manufacturer ON Semiconductor, so you shouldn’t count on amazing image quality. But the MediaTek MT6750T processor (4 x 1.5 GHz, 4 x 1 GHz), Mali-T86 graphics and 3 GB RAM cope well even with many modern games.

Advantages:

  • huge capacity battery;
  • fast charging support;
  • good hardware platform;
  • two slots for SIM cards;
  • high-quality matrix;
  • good assembly;
  • original design.

Flaws:

  • mediocre camera;
  • no LED indication;
  • recessed Micro-USB input.

Highscreen Easy Power

If you want to buy a good smartphone with support for 4G networks that costs up to 10,000 rubles, then take a closer look at the Highscreen Easy Power model. This is an excellent model with an 8000 mAh battery and a rich 5-inch display with HD resolution. For many users, the ability to remove the battery will be a plus, which will allow you to quickly replace it with a new one if it breaks down or a spare one if the main one is discharged. The last option is especially relevant, because despite the huge battery capacity, its fast charging is not provided in Highscreen Easy Power.

Unfortunately, the shortcomings don't end there. Reviews about the smartphone on forums contain a lot of criticism of the hardware. And if the MT6737 processor with 4 cores at 1250 MHz and 2-core Mali-T720 graphics cope well with most tasks, then 1 GB of RAM, and even for installed on Android phone 7 is already too few. The built-in storage in the phone is 16 GB, but it can be expanded by another 64 gigabytes using a flash drive. But the 8-megapixel main and 2-megapixel front cameras look very frivolous. Competitors for the same price can offer modules of 13 and 5 MP, respectively.

Advantages:

  • capacious battery;
  • high-quality matrix;
  • good processor and graphics;
  • headphones included.

Flaws:

  • camera quality;
  • RAM volume;
  • no fast charging.

ASUS ZenFone 4 Max ZC554KL

Another popular smartphone with a large and bright screen, as well as a capacious battery, is ASUS ZenFone 4 Max. Its body is made of high-quality metal, and the 5.5-inch HD screen is covered with protective glass. Gorilla Glass. The device operates under Android control 7 with the manufacturer's proprietary add-on. The phone has a slot for two SIMs, each of which can work in most popular fourth-generation bands.

The phone also boasts good photographic capabilities. The 13 MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and the 8 MP front camera can provide good quality pictures and videos in almost any lighting conditions. The battery in ASUS ZenFone 4 Max is set to 5000 mAh, which can provide amazing battery life of 40 hours of continuous talk time on fourth-generation networks.

Depending on the modification, the phone can be equipped with a Snapdragon 425 processor, which is complemented by Adreno 308 graphics, or a Snapdragon 430 with an Adreno 505 video core. The smartphone has 2 GB of RAM and 16 gigabytes of built-in memory. The latter, if necessary, can be expanded by microSD cards up to 256 GB.

Advantages:

  • price-quality ratio;
  • bright and rich matrix;
  • good and reliable assembly;
  • excellent cameras and battery;
  • good hardware platform.

Flaws:

  • low matrix resolution.

The best smartphones with 4G and a good camera

If you are driving own blog about traveling, want to share the most impressive pictures from your vacation with your loved ones, or simply want to save the most interesting photos even if there is a lack of memory, then for this you will need a reliable smartphone with a good camera and 4G support. Any good flagship can easily replace even a professional camera, and the presence of an LTE module in it will allow you to upload videos of any size to the Internet in a matter of minutes. For this category, we also settled on three models that received high ratings from users and mobile photographers.

Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra

Of course, the first line in this category of smartphones is occupied by the most best model mid-priced from Sony. The Xperia XA1 Ultra has everything a modern user needs, including fast charging and NFC. The camera in the presented smartphone is simply excellent: 23 MP IMX300 with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and optical stabilization. It’s pleasant to shoot with this module even in poor lighting, and during the day the main sensor can become an alternative to bulky cameras. The front camera, by the way, is also excellent here: IMX234, f/2.0, ISO 100-6400, Full HD video recording at 30 frames per second with optical image stabilization.

From a hardware point of view Sony Xperia The XA1 Ultra is also on par with its competitors. Powerful processor Helio P20 with 8 cores (4 x 2.3 GHz and 4 x 1.6 GHz), Mali-T880 graphics, and 4 GB of RAM can handle any demanding games. A large Full HD matrix with a diagonal of 6 inches, in turn, contributes to maximum pleasure from watching movies, surfing the Internet or modern entertainment. The Xperia XA1 Ultra also boasts support for fast charging and a 2700 mAh battery. Although this battery capacity is now considered below average, competent optimization of the smartphone by Sony engineers allows it to work in standby mode for almost a month with LTE networks turned on.

Advantages:

  • excellent optimization;
  • fast work;
  • high-quality cameras;
  • fast charging function;
  • attractive design;
  • reliable assembly and quality materials.

Flaws:

  • not found.

Huawei Honor 9

In all reviews Huawei smartphones receive special attention. Our rating was no exception, for which we selected the Honor 9, which is successful in all respects. In stores it is offered for about 25-30 thousand rubles, and its body is based on metal and glass, which made appearance The device is simply amazing. 5.15-inch screen resolution Huawei Honor 9 is 1920x1080 pixels, which provides a high pixel density of 428 ppi. The model under review has a battery capacity of only 3200 mAh, which is not so much considering the selected hardware. However, thanks to the fast charging function, the user does not have to worry about the need to be connected to an outlet for a long time.

Since we're talking about the hardware platform, it's worth noting that here Huawei followed a proven path by installing a processor of its own design, the Kirin 960. It has 8 cores, 4 of which operate at a frequency of 2.36 GHz, and the remaining 4 at 1.84 GHz. The phone's graphics are also handled by an 8-core Mali-G71 chip with a clock frequency of 1037 MHz. Rounding out this excellent package is 6GB of RAM. As for the built-in storage, the new product has 128 gigabytes. However, if this is not enough for you, the memory can be expanded using microSD drives with a maximum size of 256 GB.

However, this category is primarily interesting for the quality of the cameras. But here, too, the smartphone does not cause any complaints, because it has a dual main module, consisting of 12 and 20 MP sensors with f/2.2 aperture and dual LED flash. The second camera in the device is monochrome and is needed for expansion dynamic range. By increasing the sensitivity of the sensor, it receives much more information, which allows you to capture many small details.

Advantages:

  • powerful hardware;
  • first-class design;
  • excellent cameras;
  • amount of built-in memory;
  • accurate color rendering;
  • fast charging function.

Flaws:

  • Battery capacity.

Samsung Galaxy S8

The attractive Samsung smartphone closes this category and the rating as a whole. The Galaxy S8 model combines the best developments of the manufacturer. At the same time, the price of this device is quite low, both for its appearance and functionality - 450,000 rubles. The new product turned out to be very attractive, which is not least ensured by the frameless design that is popular today. Yes, this is the title Samsung Galaxy S8 can be used very conditionally, because the areas above and below the screen are still quite noticeable. However, the area occupied by the screen in this smartphone, is an impressive 84.5%, which is 3% more than in the recently introduced iPhone X. This advantage is overshadowed only by the rounded side edges. Although some of the proprietary functions are tied to them, their convenience is much lower than the discomfort of random clicks. But the hardware of the Galaxy S8 deserves the highest praise! It uses an amazing 5.8-inch AMOLED matrix with a resolution of 2960x1440 pixels (568 ppi density) and an impressive brightness of 540 candelas.

The gaming capabilities of the new product are also at their best, because Snapdragon processor 835, 4 GB RAM and Adreno 540 graphics chip are capable of handling any application. Other advantages of the smartphone include an iris scanner, IP68 protection, wireless charging, dedicated DAC and high-quality included headphones.

Advantages:

  • high-quality matrix;
  • several security systems;
  • powerful hardware platform;
  • USB-C and fast charging function;
  • constant volume and random access memory;
  • NFC support;
  • built-in iris scanner.

Flaws:

  • No criticisms found.

Which 4G smartphone to buy

When wanting to choose a smartphone for high-speed Internet, the user is unlikely to encounter a meager selection. Modern realities are such that it is now much more difficult to settle on a specific model among the hundreds presented. To make your purchase simple and enjoyable, we decided to select 9 best devices, dividing them into 3 popular categories. Each of the presented models has both its pros and cons, so read, analyze and buy yourself the phone that will really make you happy.

Updated 04/12/2019

The well-known studio GSMArena conducts thorough testing of smartphones that manufacturers themselves send to them for review. The data obtained allows us to create an accurate rating of models such as this one. Next is a selection best phones for little money, which you can safely take in the middle of 2019.

1st place – Redmi Note 7

The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has created a new brand – Redmi, previously it was a line of mobile phones. The first was the Note 7 model with Gorilla Glass 5 and Qualcomm processor Snapdragon 660. This is an old chip from 2017, which is installed on mid-range phones. Qualcomm released a new “mid-range” processor, the Snapdragon 710, but manufacturers like Xiaomi still don’t disdain the Snapdragon 660. This is partly justified, since the Redmi Note 7 on the SD710 would have cost more and would not fit into the “low-cost phones” category.

Performance testing results in benchmarks:

  • AnTuTu 7 – 139075
  • GeekBench 4.1 (multi-core) – 5411
  • GeekBench 4.1 (single-core) – 1650

Similar results were obtained by Honor 8X based on Kirin 710, as well as Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite with the same Snapdragon 660. This suggests that the optimization and implementation of the chip was generally successful. Redmi Note 7 makes the most of what the SD660 offers, and this is good - the smartphone can handle games like PUBG without problems at high FPS.

Next is the screen. There is nothing special to praise or describe here, since in this class 90% of smartphones are equipped with classic IPS displays with a diagonal of over 6 inches. On Redmi Note 7, the size is 6.2”, Full HD+ resolution and a small cutout for the front camera.

GSMArena test results at 100% backlight:

  • White brightness: 479 cd/m2
  • Black brightness: 0.358 cd/m2
  • Contrast: 1338
  • Color rendering error, DeltaE – 5.4

We have an excellent bright and high-contrast screen, not the best on the market, but serviceable. The DeltaE 5.4 deviation is not good, but some users even like it - here the white color goes slightly into cool tones, but unless you compare it with a more accurate screen, you won't notice it.

  • 32:35 hours of communication
  • 14:04 hours surfing the Internet (backlight 200 cd/m2)
  • 14:12 h video playback (backlight 200 cd/m2)

The kit comes with a simple 10 W charger, with which the phone can be charged from zero to 30% in half an hour. Redmi Note 7 supports QC 4.0 fast charging, but does not come with a compatible adapter. By autonomy this model beats all competitors in this class.

The camera is cool - with a resolution of 48 megapixels and a Quad Bayer filter, that is, a quad Bayer filter. The matrix size is 0.5 inches, which gives the size of one pixel 0.8 microns, but due to the technology of combining adjacent pixels (this is possible thanks to Quad Bayer), the actual pixel size is 1.6 microns. The phone ultimately takes a frame with a resolution of 12 megapixels, but the quality benefits from this. The additional sensor is responsible only for depth and is not an independent camera.

Examples of photos on Redmi Note 7:

[collapse]

Among budget smartphones, this model delivers best quality photo. However, the Honor 8X takes better pictures, but it also costs more – keep that in mind. Here is a comparison of the shooting quality on both smartphones:

What's wrong with Redmi Note 7:

  • You can't shoot 4K video, although the Mi 8 Lite with the same processor can do it.
  • The accuracy and exposure when taking photos during the day could have been better.
  • Included is a charger that is not QC 4.0 compatible.
  • No NFC.

2nd place – Honor 10 Lite and Huawei P Smart 2019

In second place are 2 smartphones from Huawei. The image above shows that the phones are very similar in appearance - you can’t tell them apart from the front, but even the insides are similar.

Both devices are powered by their own HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor and the latest Android 9 Pie software, equipped with 6.21” screens with Full HD+ resolution, 3400 mAh batteries, and an identical set of interfaces: NFC, Wi-Fi 5 GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, micro USB, jack 3.5 mm for headphones.

As for more precise parameters, there are slight differences. In particular, the Honor 10 Lite has a brighter backlit screen of 441 cd/m2 versus 437 cd/m2 on the P Smart 2019. But the display of the latter is more contrasty – 1345:1 versus 1282:1. In practice, these tiny differences are invisible to the eye, so consider them non-existent.

Autonomy – the Honor 10 Lite wins here, with 28:16 hours of communication on a 3G network. P Smart 2019 can withstand 24:45, that is, it discharges to zero 3.5 hours faster. But in the scenario of playing video and surfing the Internet, the phones are equal - 10 and 11 hours, respectively.

The rear cameras in the phones are also the same - these are 13 MP sensors with an f/1.8 + aperture additional camera for determining depth with a resolution of 2 MP. The front ones are different - on the P Smart 2019 it is 8 MP with an f/2 aperture, on the Honor 10 Lite it is 24 MP, f/2.

It looks like the same sensors are used here. As confirmation, here are photographs taken in the GSMArena studio under the same lighting conditions:

Whichever phone you choose from the two, you can’t go wrong. In the official store the price is around 14,500 rubles for any model, which is equal to the cost Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. The latter is better in terms of photography and battery life, which is why it is higher in the ranking. But P Smart 2019 and Honor 10 Lite have an NFC chip and the ability to pay for purchases in stores using Gpay, which dramatically increases the weight of the phones.

Flaws:

  • Plastic case.
  • The old charging connector is micro USB.
  • No fast charging technology.
  • There is no 4K video recording feature.

3rd place – Redmi Note 6 Pro

Perhaps this model does not quite fit into this TOP, since it entered the market at the end of 2018, but the phone turned out to be so successful that in terms of autonomy, performance and cameras it outperforms most “public sector phones” produced in 2019 for the same money.

Screen – 6.26” diagonal, resolution – 2280×1080, protective Gorilla Glass on top, pixel density – 403 ppi.

GSMArena test results at 100% backlight:

  • White brightness: 481 cd/m2.
  • Black brightness: 0.314 cd/m2.
  • Contrast: 1532:1.
  • Color accuracy: 2.5 in “standard” mode.

That is, the matrix here is simply magnificent - in terms of characteristics it is better than on Redmi Note 7, Honor 10 Lite and P Smart 2019, moreover. Even some flagships produce worse results during screen testing.

The 4000 mAh battery in Redmi Note 6 Pro produces:

  • 27:27 hours of talking.
  • 10:33 hours of web surfing with backlight 200 cd/m2.
  • 11:42 hours of video playback at 200 cd/m2.

That is, with 5-6 hours of screen operation per day, the smartphone will last 2 days. With moderate use - 3-4 hours of screen operation - feel free to count on 3 days.

The processor in the smartphone is the same as the predecessor Redmi Note 5 – Snapdragon 636. It’s a fairly old chip with 8 energy-efficient Kryo 260 units. In terms of performance, it will be inferior to previous phones in the rating, but it will handle games like PUBG.

The camera is double. This is a main module with a resolution of 12 megapixels, a pixel size of 1.4 microns and an f/1.9 aperture, an additional depth sensor of 5 megapixels. There is technology Dual Pixel. The phone takes excellent photos for its segment - somewhere on the level of Honor 10 Lite and P Smart 2019, but noticeably worse than Redmi Note 7.

Disadvantages of the phone:

  • There is no 4K video recording feature in the stock camera app. But with the help third party programs it's possible.
  • Old microUSB connector.
  • No fast charging.
  • No NFC.

4th place – Honor 8A

The eighth series of Honor turned out to be cool - the best representative here is Honor 8X, but it is expensive and does not fit into this rating. The budget Honor 8A is already sold in Russia for 10 thousand rubles on average.

The phone is equipped with a 6.09” screen, resolution – HD, pixel density – 282 ppi. The device operates on a chip MediaTek Helio P35 with PowerVR GE8320 graphics accelerator. This is a good 2018 processor, made using a 12nm process technology. It includes 8 Crotex-A53 cores and is equal in performance to Snadpragon 636.

There is only one rear camera – with a resolution of 13 megapixels and a lens with a large f/1.8 aperture; in front there is an 8 megapixel sensor. Battery capacity is 3020 mAh, there is no fast charging, the connector is old – MicroUSB. Also, the phone connects only to 2.4 GHz networks, but it has an NFC chip, which is rare in phones under 10 thousand rubles. And in general, the entire Honor 8A is built on exactly this – beautiful modern design + NFC. All other hardware here is mediocre and fully corresponds to the price segment.

If you don’t want to pay 15,000 rubles for P Smart 2019 or Honor 10 Lite, then feel free to take Honor 8A - it has a worse screen, cameras and lower performance, but the price is extremely attractive. There is no exact testing data for screens, battery and performance yet.

5th place – Xiaomi Redmi 7

The new phone from Xiaomi, the outspoken budget phone Redmi 7, is not yet on sale in Russia, but you will find it on Aliexpress. This is a unique smartphone as it packs some impressive specs at a price of $130.

The first thing that catches your eye is the high-quality protective glass Gorilla Glass 5, and secondly, the splash protection implemented using rubber seals and P2i nano-coating. Perhaps the device will survive even if dropped into shallow water. There are no similar phones on the market for such little money.

The display is a classic IPS with a diagonal of 6.2”, the resolution is HD, which gives a density of 269 ppi. The processor is a new, albeit weak, Snapdragon 632, created on a 14 nm process technology. The graphics chip is Adreno 506. In fact, these chips are slightly “cut down” Snapdragon 636, which previously performed well in Redmi Note 5 and Note 6.

At the back there is one camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels and a 2 megapixel depth sensor; video recording in Full HD at 60 FPS is possible. The front camera is 8 MP. I’ll add that the quality of shooting on the main camera is quite consistent with a low-end smartphone, but the GCam application (Google camera from a smartphone) can be easily installed on Redmi 7 Google Pixel) without any manipulation. At the same time, the quality of the photo is increasing - to prove it, I give examples of photos on Redmi 7 with the stock application and GCam:

Smartphones with 4G support are becoming increasingly popular in Russia. They allow you to go out global network at speeds of 30-50 Mbit/s, which is comparable to wired Internet. The only thing that bothers me is the price. Not everyone can afford devices that cost 12 thousand rubles or more. The Internet project “Be Mobile” selected the ten most interesting models 2017 with 4G support at the lowest price.

We continue to introduce users of our project to the most interesting mobile devices. We recommend reading:

The most cheap smartphones with LTE support are offered by mobile operators who want to stimulate the consumption of their services by subscribers. However, these devices have one drawback. All of them can work in the network of a single telecom operator. Of course, there are options for flashing and hacking such models, but in this case you will lose the warranty from the manufacturer.

We focused on smartphones that work with SIM cards from any operator. In addition, most of them have support for two SIM cards. The list includes only those models that are this moment can be bought in large retail networks and online stores. So called, gray devices We did not take into account those with a missing EAEU certificate. All models are arranged in ascending order of price - no more than 12,000 rubles.

The second representative of the Vertex brand in our rating boasts a 5.5-inch IPS screen and a high-capacity battery. This is exactly what the younger model with a 5.2-inch screen lacks. Plus, the Vertex Impress Click looks great. LTE is there, of course. There are two slots at once: one for a SIM card standard size, the second - for a microSIM SIM card. Perhaps there is only one drawback - not the most best camera. The pictures only look good outdoors in good lighting. Indoors, pictures turn out blurry, overexposed and not always with adequate colors. The rest is in perfect order. Rating of non-operator 4G smartphones costing up to 12,000 rubles according to the website:

id="sub10">

Alcatel Shine Lite- the most technologically advanced

ASUS ZenFone Go ZB500KL- best performance-autonomy ratio

Fly FS511 Cirrus 7- best price-quality ratio

Alcatel One Touch Pixi 4 5045D- most affordable smartphone with 5 inch screen

LG K3 LTE- the most affordable smartphone with a 4.5-inch screen

Of course, similar smartphones, whether with or without LTE, are simple state phones with more than modest characteristics. Often for the same money you can find 3G models with more decent and modern hardware. Accordingly, they should be recommended only to those who need the simplest smartphone that can use high-speed data transfer. Some use such devices as wired modems for a computer or gadgets for Wi-Fi distribution, and others - to just be online, listen to music from online services and forget about the slow Internet connection. For all this, the listed models are quite suitable.

The fourth generation (Generation, abbreviated as 4G) of mobile communications is theoretically capable of providing high speeds with an Internet connection, but realizing this potential is very difficult. Within the framework of this standard, several data transmission technologies are used at once, and the simplest of them, in relation to the topic of our review, is LTE. The maximum speed in this case is 150 Mbit/s per reception (or DL), but its achievement presupposes the presence of ideal conditions: packets are exchanged in a 20 MHz frequency band, a completely “free” cell and high level signal.

How to choose the best smartphone with 4g

When choosing a smartphone with 4G, the most unobvious problem for users is that operators are often forced to use narrower channels (up to 5 MHz) and this depends on the “operating” range. Let us clarify that Russian 4G networks support B20 (800 MHz), B3 (1800 MHz) and B7 (2600 MHz). The B38 (2600 MHz) band is still less common, and the B31 (450 MHz) and B40 (2300 MHz) are quite exotic.

The second problem with high-speed communication is that all these frequencies are distributed in strips, and quite thoughtlessly, and each operator has different “kits” for organizing 4G in different regions, often incomplete. In addition, recall that there is a direct relationship between wavelength and signal propagation range. In other words, base stations the B20 range will require significantly less than the B7. And which option in the “outback” will the provider choose?

For residents of large administrative centers and surrounding areas, everything is not so sad. Moreover, the main operators “work” on several bands at once, and here it is appropriate to recall the second technology, which can use them simultaneously (perform frequency aggregation). It's called LTE-A (Advanced), and in this case a plus is sometimes added to 4G. The current version of the standard allows for combining five bands, but even in this case everything is complicated.

Firstly, the telecom operator needs to have a suitable “set” of frequencies, and not all of them are compatible with each other. Secondly, appropriate re-equipment of base stations is required. Thirdly, a smartphone as a subscriber terminal must not only support LTE-A technology, as well as all involved bands, but also be in an area of reliable reception in relation to each of them.

As for operators, so far only MegaFon and MTS declare aggregation of three frequency bands. And not even everywhere. The parallel use of two bands is much more common and high-speed Internet is already available in a number of regional/territorial centers. Actually, this is precisely what determines the selection criteria for most smartphones with 4g for our rating: LTE and LTE-A 2CA (this is the designation for devices capable of aggregating two carrier frequencies - 2 Carrier Aggregation).

Necessary information The categories given in the descriptions of smartphones are also given. In our case, these are Cat.4 and Cat.6 - optimal for Russia. Of course, reviews of expensive models even promise gigabit 4G speeds and this is never a lie. You just need to understand that to achieve them, appropriate conditions are necessary. Let's say the correct operator and being within the Garden Ring. And that doesn't always work. By the way, older categories imply that smartphones have complex antenna paths. In the specifications, this fact may be designated as MIMO with a couple of numbers in front. The latter indicate the number of antenna groups and the more there are, the higher the maximum speed.

Finally, another technology is called VoLTE and is designed to make voice calls through a specially created Internet channel. You are right in thinking that things are even sadder here, but the light at the end of the tunnel is already visible. At least at the level of Moscow and the region, MegaFon has launched such a service, and from the beginning of 2018 it is planned to roll it out in the regions. There is information that MTS is also preparing to introduce VoLTE in 2018. The sad thing is that smartphone manufacturers must add this to the firmware of each supported model necessary settings for all interested telecom operators. MegaFon turned out to be the most interested in us, which is why the corresponding category of the review of the best smartphones with 4g is represented by devices compatible with the VoLTE version of this particular company.

Despite the demand for large phablets, compact phones do not lose their relevance and are in demand among consumers. Smartphones with a diagonal of 4 inches are not inferior in technical characteristics to five- or six-inch devices.
Fans of small ergonomic gadgets can make their choice easier by focusing on the rating of the best 4-inch smartphones.

The display is made using AMOLED technology, which ensures clear frame transmission without soapy pixels. Low resolution does not affect screen performance.
The remaining characteristics do not stand out in this price category:

  • normal performance chipset;
  • standard cameras;
  • battery with a run time of several days;
  • wireless interfaces.

Characteristics:

  1. Android 4.1;

The 4-inch screen is equipped with an anti-glare coating, which allows you to view the image even in sunny weather. There is a little lack of brightness and contrast, but the white balance and color rendition are set comfortably.
