How did you get this phone? By what criteria was he chosen?
This phone came to me after preliminary research and purchase at the salon cellular communications. I wanted to buy a quality product for a reasonable price. Spending tens of thousands of rubles on purchasing a fashionable smartphone with tempting technical characteristics I thought it was unnecessary. I needed a reliable and high-quality phone for calls. The important criteria that guided my selection were:
I wasn’t interested in the quality of the camera at all, since for photographs I have good camera, and I use the camera in my phone as a replacement for pen and paper (for example, I saw an important announcement and took a photo, and calmly copied the information at home).

I liked the design of this model, somewhat reminiscent of Nokia (although I did not own a single phone from this manufacturer). Another undoubted advantage of the phone is support for 16 GB microSD memory cards. Back cover, made of metal, also made a good impression, and it is very easy to remove and install back (no Herculean effort required). I really liked the ability to customize almost all phone parameters. The screen is enough good quality- of course, this is not super AMOLED, but for a regular phone it’s very good. According to the seller, the screen does not go blind in the sun, but I have not yet been able to check this.
The desktop has a link bar where you can display 15 shortcuts to frequently used applications (very convenient, you don’t need to go to the phone menu, everything you need is at hand). It seemed to me that this mobile phone has a certain “smartphone” inclination, but this does not spoil it at all, but on the contrary, improves the ease of use. For example, information about a missed call or received SMS does not hang at the top of the screen in the form of a tiny icon, but is located on the desktop as a link (everything is immediately clearly visible). What I also really liked was the gorgeous phone book that meets all my requirements. I instantly put my contacts in order, organized them into groups, and entered a bunch of additional information that could not be done on the previous phone.
Another beauty in this phone that won me over was the ability to create a backup copy on a memory card (you can archive your contacts, messages, calendar, tasks and notes). On your phone, you can accidentally delete an important contact or message and then tear your hair out. But this device has a recycle bin into which deleted information goes (however, you must first activate the recycle bin and select what needs to be saved there). I give this a huge plus. I was also pleased that Samsung overcame one of its “childhood diseases”. Previously, when downloading java applications to a Samsung phone, it was necessary to add jar file also add jad, now this is gone (jad is no longer needed).
For this phone, I note very decent music playback. Although I’m not a super music lover, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. The bell is very loud, it will wake up even the dead, this can also be attributed to the advantages of the device (this is my opinion, someone may think differently).

4. You can set your own ringtone or assign a ringtone or picture to your contacts, but the phone will first copy this to itself (and the memory capacity is small). Imagine if you have several hundred contacts and you want to assign each one their own call and their own picture. The phone doesn't have enough memory for this. What prevents you from using a memory card and not copying everything to yourself is known only to Samsung engineers.
5. The keyboard could be more comfortable, the bottom row of buttons is inconvenient to press with one hand, I instinctively hold the phone with the other hand so that it does not slip out of my hands. If it is a monoblock, it should be easily controlled with one hand; in this case, a design flaw does not allow this.
6. The 4-way navigation key, soft keys, call key and power/end key do not light up in the dark. This is a huge disadvantage of the device's design.
7. Strange alarm clock. You cannot set the alarm on weekdays or weekends (Motorola does this without any problems). There is a choice - either repeat every day, or weekly (you need to choose the day of the week), or once. It turns out that you need to set five alarm clocks, one for each working day of the week - very original.
8. If you insert a SIM card into your phone, the “download games” link automatically appears in the “Games and Applications” section (if there is no SIM card, the link disappears). The link, of course, is paid (I didn’t check - it’s already clear). Draw conclusions.
9. The phone has a completely useless and meaningless menu item "Samsung Apps". It’s as if the user doesn’t know where to get games and programs for this phone. The Internet is full of free alternatives - just use the search. But the manufacturer believes that the user does not know this and should not know anything, so he offers “Samsung Apps”, which will rip you off for downloading content.
10. And now the most important drawback, because of which I am thinking about replacing the device. This phone contains malicious applications that are specially protected from removal. These applications are located in the "Games and Applications" section and are called "Durak" and "Hangman". Shareware games were instantly destroyed, since no one is going to pay money for something that can be obtained completely free of charge. The desire of the manufacturer and operator to earn extra money is understandable, but the user, from the very beginning, should be able to manage pre-installed games.
We are not talking about critical system files and settings - they certainly need to be protected and even hidden from the user’s eyes. "Durak" and "Hangman", not being critical files for the phone, for some reason cannot be configured in any way. I look at the permissions (i.e. the settings of these applications), there are 8 points there that I cannot change: use the network - allowed; using messages is allowed; send a message - allowed; autostart - allowed; local connection- allowed; multimedia recording - allowed; reading data - allowed; data recording is allowed. Those. No one asks me if I want these games to go online, send messages, etc., everything has already been decided for me. It’s an absolute disgrace to embed games into your phone that cannot be removed and that can send a paid SMS. This is a potential threat, in other words, there are two very dangerous Trojans on your phone, disguised as games. To call a spade a spade, these are malicious applications of a destructive nature. Imagine if a child or any unprepared person took the phone to play? At best, the balance may be zero, and at worst, you will have to change your number due to a three-digit debt.
What is the reason for such zealous protection of the two above-mentioned “games” from removal? Nothing more than a desire to make money in the most cynical way - by imposing unnecessary games on the buyer, pre-programmed to send paid SMS.
I began to deal with this problem on my own, since I did not receive an answer on this issue either on the Samsung website or by calling the hotline of this manufacturer. I went to the Savelovsky market, contacted several points that deal with phone firmware, and asked to remove the built-in crap from the phone. Unfortunately, they couldn't help me. Apparently, the infection is very deeply integrated into the phone’s firmware. I was recommended one person who supposedly could help me, but he was not there. I'll have to go to Savelovsky again. If this specialist is unable to remove the infection from the phone, all I can do is change the device.

Recording capability telephone conversation would not be superfluous, especially considering the support for large memory cards.

Trouble happened to the manufacturer, which tarnished its reputation and allowed two dangerous viruses to be built into the firmware of a (generally good) phone.

Compared to the Motorola Razr2 V8, this phone loses in the processing speed of Java applications. Games on Motorola went faster.
What else can you say?
If it were not for the shortcomings listed above, this phone would be a good choice for those who need an inexpensive and high-quality means of communication.
If I manage to remove integrated viruses from the phone, I will give it 8 points (after all, the shortcomings that I mentioned above spoil the impression of the device). But at the moment I can’t evaluate a phone with pre-installed viruses; it doesn’t even deserve one point. I will not recommend purchasing. Avoid phones with pre-installed viruses. To recognize them, open the “Games and Applications” menu section and see if “games” that are protected from deletion are installed there (they are usually indicated by a lock and the inscription sys, i.e. system file).
