Lenovo is known for its interesting new products in the world of computer technology, which, one way or another, attract the attention of many users. However, there are also periods when a brand, instead of launching something intricate, re-releases old models. Of course, we are not talking about an exact copy, the filling changes, the design, display, etc. may change.

It is this device that will be discussed further. The Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30 tablet looks very similar to its predecessor, the TAB 2 A10-70. However, if you dig deeper, it turns out that changes have occurred, and with some characteristics - quite significant. So, what can this budget 10-inch tablet do?

Design

Anyone who expresses a desire to purchase the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30 will need to choose between two colors: blue (Midnight Blue) and white (White Pearl). The tablet body is made of plastic, solid and of very high quality. Looking ahead, we note that in operation the gadget behaves perfectly: the parts fit very tightly, so there are no creaks, backlashes, etc. We are not talking about troubles at all.

The cover of the device has a soft-touch coating, making it comfortable to hold in your hands. Thus, you don’t have to worry about the tablet slipping out of your hands, which, unfortunately, is the problem with many other gadgets. By the way, the non-staining surface is another plus for practicality. In the middle of the back panel of the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30 there is a small company logo, which is also duplicated on the top frame of the screen, but in a smaller size. But let’s get back to getting to know the cover: at the top you can see the large lens of the rear camera, and on the sides of it there are speaker grilles. On the right there is a small Dolby logo, it looks very stylish.

The front of the Tablet PC looks no less attractive than the back. Almost the entire front part is given over to the screen, which is surrounded by a black frame around the perimeter. The manufacturer has placed a front-facing webcam at the top; a modern gadget cannot do without it. Of course, we cannot ignore the dimensions of the tablet, because it depends on them how well it meets the mobility criterion. Well, Lenovo dimensions TAB 2 A10-30 is as follows: 247x171x9 mm, weight, in turn, is 525 grams. Not bad, to be sure.

Display, sound and webcam

As already mentioned, the tablet has a 10.1-inch glossy screen. Its resolution is 1280x800 pixels, and this is one of the main differences between this model and the TAB 2 A10-70. Of course, on such a rather large display, Full HD looks more appropriate, but at the same time, when buying a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30, the user does not lose much in quality. Yes, the number of pixels per inch is only 145 ppi, and you can view individual pixels if you wish. But, by and large, these are the nuances that you can put up with, especially since there are no complaints at all about the other characteristics of the screen.

In particular, I would like to note the excellent brightness and contrast, because these indicators are very important for a high-quality image. The output colors are rich and realistic, that is, color rendition is at high level. By the way, thanks to the IPS matrix, they do not change even at an angle, which is also very nice. There is no oleophobic coating, the display is covered with fingerprints, but this is a problem with all touch-sensitive gadgets, there’s nothing you can do about it. By the way, the screen supports up to ten simultaneous touches, commands on it are executed immediately, no slowdowns or freezes.

It’s hard not to pay attention to the speakers, or more precisely, to the grilles that hide them – they are too noticeable. Dolby Atmos technology is responsible for the sound and, in general, we have no complaints about it. Considering the relationship of this Tablet PC to the budget segment, you shouldn’t hope for perfect acoustics, but what you have will definitely please you. The bass may not be very audible, although overall the sound is clear and does not deteriorate even at maximum volume. By the way, we strongly advise against placing the device on a soft surface, otherwise the sound will become muffled.

The device has two webcams. The front one has a rather modest resolution - 2 megapixels, which, however, allows you to easily communicate via Skype. With the rear camera the situation is much better: here the resolution is 5 megapixels, there is autofocus, so the user will be able to take very good pictures, however, only in daylight.

Keyboard and touchpad

A keyboard dock is not included in the package, but this is still a privilege of more expensive models, and even then, not all of them. However, no one forbids using virtual keyboard, which is ideal for web surfing. It is easy to use given its simple and intuitive interface. The functionality of the keyboard provides the ability to change the layout, language, appearance(style), etc. By the way, the front part of the tablet does not have physical buttons, but you can use virtual ones: “Back”, “Menu” open applications", "Home".

Performance

The equipment discussed in this review - Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30 TB2-X30L (ZA0D0048RU) - runs on the Android 5.1 operating system. The processor is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 operating at 1.1 GHz. It is manufactured according to the 28 nm process technology and does not have much performance, so it is usually used in budget models.

In this case, the chip is equipped with Qualcomm Adreno 304 graphics, which is only slightly ahead of the ARM Mali-400 MP4 in its capabilities. The video card is characterized by a frequency of 400 MHz and a basic level of performance. This means that simple toys downloaded from Play Market, will work on a tablet without any problems. Moreover, games from, say, 2013 can be run even at maximum settings. But, as you probably already guessed, with fairly demanding modern ones you will fail. For example, most games in 2015 will be slow, and you'll have to live with that.

The RAM capacity in the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30 tablet is only 1 GB of LPDDR3 standard. Not enough, of course, but, we repeat, the gameplay does not slow down, and calculations are performed very quickly. The amount of flash memory is 16 GB, which can be increased by another 32 GB using the built-in card reader.

Ports and communications

This tablet PC has all the interfaces necessary for high-quality work, and now you can see for yourself. So, on the left side there are two physical buttons: power and a volume rocker. True, it’s not very convenient to use them, because the keys have moved almost back panel, so you will have to grope virtually blindly. Next to them is a Micro-USB connector, and a little further away there is a microSD card reader and a micro-SIM connector hidden under a plug.

On the opposite side there is only a 3.5 mm headphone output. On the top side you can see a microphone, but the bottom is completely empty.

The engineers did not forget about the sensors, in this case we are talking about an accelerometer and a vibration sensor. As for wireless communications, they are available in the form of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, 4G and GPS. By the way, there is also an FM receiver, which requires headphones to operate.

Battery

With built-in lithium-ion battery the manufacturer decided not to split hairs, leaving the same capacity as in the older model – 7000 mAh. At the same time, as you remember, the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30 has a lower screen resolution, and the processor is not as powerful and power-hungry. In this case, such technical characteristics only benefit the user, because this means that even without that capacious battery will work even longer! According to the promises of Lenovo engineers, with such a battery the gadget will function quietly without recharging for up to 10 hours of continuous use, as well as up to 117 days in standby mode. If you use the tablet for only a few hours a day, it will not need charging for about 5 days. Great, isn't it?

Conclusion

Well, Lenovo did not disappoint once again: an attempt to launch a budget device with good characteristics, can be considered successful. TAB 2 A10-30 has a 10-inch screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, good acoustics and a high-quality main webcam. In addition, the advantages of the tablet include: a good set of interfaces, the presence of a 4G module and, most importantly, excellent battery life.

Of course, the hardware of this Tablet PC is not the most powerful, but, firstly, do not forget that we are dealing with a budget segment, and secondly, what we have is enough for everyday work. Of course, if you want a device that can run modern games, then the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30 is not the right option. But high-quality web surfing, playback of audio or video files, simple games are always welcome! Well, what else can you expect for less than $200?!

There is nothing unusual in the package - in addition, you will receive documentation and a USB cable that is inserted into Charger. If desired, as an additional accessory, you can purchase branded keyboard for tablet.

Design

The design of the model is simple and unobtrusive, and this is the appeal of the tablet. It is available in two color options: white and dark blue. Each of them looks very elegant. The body itself is not burdened with any frills - the front screen is bordered by a black frame, and rear end The device is made of matte plastic.

It is worth noting that the plastic surface has a coating, which makes the tablet very comfortable to hold in your hands, however, it collects a lot of fingerprints, so you will need to take good care of it.

The black frame around the display, which is not always to the taste of users, was invented for a reason - it allows you to avoid unnecessary touches and sensor activations. That is why the manufacturer makes it visible - everything is thought out for your comfort.

On the top of the front side there is the manufacturer's logo, camera and indicator light. The volume and power keys are on the left side along with USB port. The headphone jack is located on top (this is quite convenient), at the back, closer to the edge right side, there is a flap under which the port for memory cards and SIM cards are hidden.

In general, the performance is quite enough for everyone daily tasks and for using games, but if you want the most ideal performance, then you certainly shouldn’t look for it in devices of this price category.

Multimedia capabilities

From a review of the screen properties, it becomes clear that the tablet is best suited for multimedia tasks - a bright and beautiful picture will make watching videos and movies fun and comfortable. Since the device has high performance, there will be no problems with downloading streaming video or playing Full HD video.

What can you say about the sound? The tablet has one speaker located on the top of the back of the case, along its entire length. It is made quite interestingly - with small perforations, which are here not just for beauty, but also to improve the sound.

The speaker produces loud, rich and high quality sound, the only “but” is its placement, due to which it is necessary either to place the tablet backwards towards the user, or to have a sound reflector. But this arrangement is quite practical when using the tablet in your hands, when it is placed on your lap - in these situations you will not mute the speaker.

In general, the image and sound in the device are at a decent level, so it will cope well with multimedia tasks. 16 GB is provided for storing files internal memory tablets, which are expandable up to 64 GB using an external card.

Battery and operating time

The device comes with a 7000 mAh battery, which is enough for a tablet with a capacious screen, but not very high processor parameters, since it does not consume much power compared to devices in the high price segment.

Average time battery life The Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L model is 12 hours - this is a very long indicator for a tablet with this screen size and internal filling. It will easily hold a charge for several days with average use, and charges in 3-4 hours due to the large battery capacity.

Such battery life indicators play in favor of the model, especially considering that most equipment of this kind needs to be charged every day.

Camera

As is customary in the world of tablets, regardless of their price, you should not expect great capabilities from the cameras on the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L. The main 8 megapixel module does not have a flash, but the results of shooting in good lighting can please you - the pictures are optimal in quality and resolution.

In the camera application, you can adjust contrast, white balance and other parameters; the flicker compensation function is notable - it makes shooting displays better. mobile phone or computer screen.

The 5 MP front camera provides decent selfie shots and copes with video calls without any problems. In general, the cameras on the tablet are not bad - they provide photos and videos of decent quality.

Operating system and programs

By default, this model is equipped with Android 4.4 with Lenovo Vibe UI shell, but after the first turn on you can upgrade to version 5.0, and this can be done via a Wi-Fi connection.

Programs are used through a standard list in the menu or using desktops, where they are grouped. The notification panel and the most recently enabled applications remain the same, but the settings are displayed in the form of an icon with the name of each section.

In addition to the standard set of applications, which will allow you to get started right away, there is a browser, players, settings, alarm clock, etc., and a synchronization program from the manufacturer has also been added. In it you can create your own “cloud” for storing data, as well as exchanging it between different users.

Another interesting addition is the Dolby Atmos application for detailed settings sound. Overall, the system leaves a pleasant impression - it is well thought out and easy to use, and there are no problems with operation.

Competitors

If we take into account the rich functionality, good filling and big screen Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L model, then in its price segment it has practically no competitors with the same set of advantages.

Exception - Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, which has good parameters, but it has a noticeably worse screen and a higher price, which does not work in its favor.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main advantages of Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L are as follows:

  • High quality large screen.
  • High performance for its segment.
  • Powerful battery and long battery life.
  • Excellent speaker sound quality.

Among the shortcomings, it is worth noting the inability to make calls and a creaky case, which, however, did not affect its strength. Otherwise, the tablet has virtually no disadvantages, especially considering its price.

Conclusion

The Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet is another attractive device that has been created with a good balance between cost and functionality.

A full overview of the functionality allows us to conclude that it has a large and high-quality screen, it holds a charge for a long time and copes well with the operation of the system and applications. For this price, this is an excellent option for purchase, since in this segment you simply will not find other models with similar characteristics.

Who is this tablet suitable for? Almost everyone: for Internet surfing, listening to music, watching movies, reading and working. Externally, it is made with restraint and taste, so it is in perfect harmony with its internal content.

Lenovo is well known for not shying away from experimenting with design, including tablets. And her Yoga series was completely copied by numerous compassionate Chinese who wanted to offer the market something original. However, the Tab 2 A10-70 has a classic appearance.

The design of the tablet is completely calm, without any “aerodynamic” bends, strange shapes, structures or grips. In fact, this is a typical rectangle with a screen.

However, it still turned out stylish. A sort of stylish white business tool. There are also black and blue options, but we liked the white one more than the others. He looks more noble or something. Although Lenovo did not follow the fashion trend of narrowing the frame around the display.

The back cover has a matte soft-touch coating. It is flat and only sloping at the edges to make the tablet more comfortable to hold in your hands. The Lenovo inscription is engraved in the center, but the main “decoration” here is the perforation on the sides of the camera lens. There are speakers underneath, but this design itself is quite decent.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L is made of plastic, but this does not prevent it from being of high quality. The device is really well designed, all the panels fit well together. But this was not difficult to achieve due to the non-separable case - we have not yet seen anything else in tablets.

At the same time, the product from Lenovo cannot boast of light weight or thickness. They are respectively 509 grams and 8.9 mm. If we compare it with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, then its parameters are 453 grams and 7.5 mm. The difference is not critical, but it is there. In general, the weight of the Tab 2 A10-70L is felt, although it cannot be said that the hands get tired from long-term use. In any case, you are unlikely to work with a 10-inch tablet on the go.

In general, we liked the appearance and quality of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L. In terms of dimensions and weight, it does not set records, but everything here is quite acceptable.

Connectors and controls

Although the tablet is noticeable more smartphone, it has the same number of controls, and sometimes even fewer. In addition, the tablet cannot be disassembled.

At the head of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L there is a front camera lens and that’s it. There are no light or proximity sensors, or a speaker like a phone, so you don’t have to hold the tablet to your ear.

At the rear, two elements are of interest. The first is the rear camera, the lens of which is surrounded by a metal rim. There is no flash - photo capabilities, like many tablets, are limited here.

The second element is the Dolby nameplate to the right of the camera. We guess there's no need to explain what this says about the corresponding audio enhancements applied to the Tab 2 A10. The speakers themselves are located on the sides of the camera under the perforations.

At the top end of the tablet there is a 3.5 mm mini-jack for headphones and headsets.

A microphone was placed on the lower side.

On the left are the power button, volume rocker, microUSB connector for charging, and a flap above the card compartments.

The right end was left empty.

The memory card and SIM card are inserted on the left - they are hidden behind a hinged lid. The tablet works with microSIM and microSD. To install, you just need to push them in right side. But if there are difficulties with this, our short video will help resolve the issue:

In terms of ergonomics, the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L is generally comfortable and does not cause any complaints.

The Lenovo tablet came to us fully equipped.

The device is supplied in a small elongated box made of pressed cardboard.

Inside, in addition to the Tab 2 A10 itself, there is a user manual, a cable for connecting to a charger or computer, and the charger itself. No headphones or headsets. Even if it's difficult to talk on a tablet, it doesn't support voice calls via mobile network– however, it is more convenient to listen to music or watch videos with headphones.

Case for Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70

Buying a case or cover for the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 turned out to be quite simple - there are quite a lot of them released.

In the very simple version you can find a fleece bag for Tablet Tab 2 A10-70. This one sells for 1000 rubles.

A leather bag will cost 1,500 rubles. Although it is one and a half times more expensive, it looks much more solid.

The cover case will cost about 1,500 rubles. In addition, the cover can serve as a stand.

Screen

Obviously, the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 does not belong to the budget category, and therefore it is logical to expect from it a screen that at least fits the epithet “decent”. Let's say more - in this matter, the Chinese company even has a chance to stand out, since the competing Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has a very modest display resolution - 1024x768 pixels. And Lenovo took advantage of this chance.

The tablet offers a working resolution of 1920x1200, which provides a decent pixel density of 218 ppi for devices of this class. This resolution was often used in flagship products 2-3 years ago, and then they moved to 2560x1600 or 2048x1536. Meanwhile, more affordable solutions offer a resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x800, and sometimes middle-class tablets like the aforementioned Galaxy Tab A flaunt this. The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 looks much better with its screen against its background.

Speaking subjectively, the screen Lenovo tablet left behind a pleasant impression. Good IPS matrix, wide viewing angles, natural color rendition, behaves well in the sun. Compared to the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab A, which we've seen a few times, the picture is noticeably sharper and less grainy. Of course, the Chinese device is far from the quality of the Galaxy Tab S or Tab S2, but it does not compete with them at all.

Maximum brightness was measured at 380.56 cd/m2, which is decent enough for a tablet. A comfortable brightness level is achieved by setting the slider somewhere around 30-40% of the maximum. It should also be noted that the black color of the screen is quite deep - at full brightness it shines at only 0.33 cd/m2, that is, it does not look very “gray”. The final contrast is 1153:1.

The screen's color gamut almost completely covered the sRGB space, so you don't have to worry about accurate color reproduction.

The color temperature turned out to be too high, at about the same level as most other smartphones and tablets - 8000K. But the image doesn't look too cold, so everything is fine.

The gamma curve does not look very smooth, although there is no serious deviation. In other words, although part of the picture appears darker or lighter than the standard, this will not be very noticeable to the eye.

The screen recognizes up to 10 simultaneous touches, which is not surprising - it is clearly not cheap, like the tablet itself. In addition, on a 10-inch display, the ability to work with both hands is most important.

The screen settings page turned out to be generally normal, with the exception of the MiraVision section.

Going inside, it turned out that this was a special application for setting up the display.

The application allows you to select a standard color profile, or adjust the image parameters yourself. You can adjust saturation, contrast, brightness, Colorful temperature(white balance) and sharpness.

Despite some strangeness in the gamma curve graph, the screen of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 is generally good, with a pleasing picture, wide viewing angles and special software that allows you to adjust the image to your liking.

Camera

Regarding the camera in the Tab 2 A10-70, Lenovo made a certain compromise. 8 MP resolution is not the smallest, but by modern standards it cannot be called large either. Although, again, the number of megapixels does not mean their quality, and this is a tablet. And among other things, there is no flash.

The camera application is not standard, but part of the proprietary Vibe UI shell. However, it looks very similar to the one that is included in Android. Lenovo just added a couple additional modes, redrew the settings.

You can apply filters in real time.

Settings allow you to specify white balance, set exposure and change other parameters.

The maximum photo resolution, according to the settings, is 10 MP. However, the official website says 8 MP. And we received pictures with a resolution of 8 MP.

The quality of the shooting is generally normal, and in some places good. The frames are not overexposed, the white balance is correct, and even the image sharpness is often good. The only exception is that in poor lighting conditions the pictures come out blurry, but this is a common occurrence.

The maximum video recording resolution is 1920x1080, which for some reason is designated as “Best”.

The video looks good, much like the photo: the white balance is determined correctly, the footage is clear.

The resolution of the front camera is 5 MP, which is very good for a tablet - in fact, at the level of modern selfie phones!

There is only one problem with the front sensor - white balance is not always determined correctly. But besides this, the pictures come out very well.

The video resolution of the front camera can be “Low” or “High”. Behind the “high” is a modest value of 640x480 pixels. Somehow it’s not at all respectable against the backdrop of a 5 MP sensor - 1280x720 could easily be provided!

The video quality is generally good, but the VGA resolution spoils everything.

In total, we were more than satisfied with the cameras of the Lenovo tablet. These are, of course, not market leaders, but for a tablet everything is very, very decent.

Specifications Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70

If we take the fall of 2015, then Lenovo in this time period produces three tablets within the A series: Tab 2 A7-30, Tab 2 A8-50 and Tab 2 A10-70. It’s not difficult to guess that they differ from each other in screen diagonal, and in addition to this, resolution, processors, and system. So the 7-inch model will not receive Android 5.0, while the 10-inch model already has it, and the 8-inch model comes with it initially.

More specifically about our A10-70, it is available in two versions: A70-70F and A10-70L. The first is based on the MediaTek MT8165 chip, and the second is MT8732, which differ only in the presence of an LTE module in the second.

There is simply no other difference - the processors have the same frequency of 1.7 GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores, as well as a Mali-T760 MP2 video card operating at a frequency of up to 500 MHz. In general, all this looks like a “strong average”, just like the Galaxy Tab A with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 410. In terms of performance, these devices are very close to each other, even in terms of communication - LTE category 4 (up to 150 Mbit/s) is supported both.

The amount of RAM is 2 GB, which may not be a record amount, but not bad for a relatively affordable product. It’s nice that Lenovo didn’t skimp here, as well as on the built-in flash memory, installing it at 16 GB. At the same time, expansion with microSD cards up to 64 GB is available.

Is there anything else to say about Lenovo specifications Tab 2 A10-70L we cannot - the main thing is commented. Is it possible to note that this tablet surpasses the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 in terms of camera and battery capacity. So samsung device looks somewhat “unsightly” against its background. Let's see how their performance stands.

Performance testing

So, the results of testing two large tablets: Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0. Yes, the second one is not so “big”, but other than the screen diagonal, it does not differ at all from the 9.7-inch model. Before moving on to the tests, we note that the product from Lenovo looks more promising: it has a higher frequency processor and better video card, but at the same time the screen resolution is higher, which also affects performance.

The old Smartbench 2012 test showed the superiority of the Lenovo tablet - as expected.

But the Quadrant benchmark was somewhat to the taste of Samsung, although the difference between them is not very significant.

A new popular Antutu test that can take advantage of all the advantages modern processors, definitely gave the victory to the Lenovo tablet.

Yes and Chrome browser, judging by the SunSpider JavaScript test, the same opinion.

In the old game electopia, both tablets squeezed the most out of it - the framerate was limited by VSync, which does not exceed 60 FPS.

3DRating shows an advantage on Lenovo's side, but not very noticeable. It's interesting to look at other 3D tests.

Here you go - both very serious 3D benchmarks remained behind the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L, and even with a two-fold lead!

The results of autonomy turned out to be extremely interesting if . Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has less capacious battery 6000 mAh, and the Lenovo device - 7000 mAh. And at the same time, both retained a very decent battery charge after completing all the tasks. What consumes the most energy?

As always, this is a screen, and at the same time resource-intensive tasks such as games and surfing via a mobile network. The most interesting thing is that video is not so power-hungry, so the Lenovo tablet performs this function very well.

The tablet also has an extreme power saving mode that allows you to save battery power if there is very little left.

Overall, the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L is a really fast tablet in its price category. It is noticeably superior to its direct competitor Samsung, which is an excellent recommendation. At the same time, it provides good autonomy, which is also a significant plus.

Games on Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L

You saw the results in 3D tests in the last section, so you can expect the same “agility” from the Lenovo tablet in games.

  • Riptide GP2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Asphalt 7: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Asphalt 8: excellent, the game does not slow down;
  • N.O.V.A. 3: Near Orbit: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Modern Combat 5: Blackout: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Trigger: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Real Racing 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Need For Speed: Most Wanted: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Shadowgun: Dead Zone: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Frontline Commando: Normandy: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Frontline Commando 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Eternity Warriors 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Eternity Warriors 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Trial Xtreme 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Trial Xtreme 4: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Effect: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Plants vs Zombies 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Iron Man 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Target: excellent, the game does not slow down.

Well, that's how it is. All games, despite the high screen resolution, launched without problems and did not slow down at all. There is not even a reduction in graphics quality to increase the FPS level. In other words, for this method leisure activities Chinese tablet fits good.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L came to us pre-installed, which looked a little strange against the backdrop of everything else, and the tablet itself is not cheap, and the 8-inch Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 had this very “fifth Android” at its disposal.

However, upon entering the settings section, it was nice to see a message about the availability of an update. At first it was a minor update, but after installing it it became possible to download Android 5.0. This is all by air, without any third party tools and connecting the tablet to the computer.

When we first turned on the tablet, we saw just such a desktop. This is classic Android 4.4 with Lenovo Vibe UI on top. Here, as is done on the company’s smartphones, the shortcut bar for applications is displayed at the bottom, and their general list is located on the desktops - it is not separated from widgets.

However, in Android 5, the manufacturer decided to change its approach - now desktops are separated from the list of all applications. All this has become noticeably more reminiscent of classic Android 5, which is especially evident in the design of the Google folder.

The list of all applications looks completely normal - there are 30 of them displayed on one screen and they can be changed by horizontally swiping.

Notification panel and panel combined with it quick settings are also almost no different from the one in the “naked robot”. The settings panel has only been slightly redrawn.

List latest apps Lenovo did not touch it at all - they are displayed in the form of tabs.

Some special settings not on the tablet, but the standard ones are only slightly redrawn. They have their own icons, and the sections are displayed in two lists. Only the screen has advanced configuration options, which we described above in the corresponding section.

The tablet received a standard set of proprietary Lenovo applications, one of which is the SYNCit synchronization program. It can save your data to the cloud.

SHAREit and CLONEit are used to exchange data with various devices- smartphones, tablets or computers.

Lenovo did not limit itself to just installing the Dolby nameplate on the tablet body - it has a special Dolby Atmos application for fine tuning sound. Here you can either select a ready-made profile or set your own.

There is a games store. True, we didn’t see any famous titles here.

One more potential useful application, or rather the client of the service, is a book store.

There are also standard utilities such as a calendar, calculator, timer, world clock, alarm clock and stopwatch.

From a software point of view, we are quite satisfied with the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L - it is a high-quality tablet with modern system and a good set of software, both proprietary and third-party. At the same time, the interface works quickly and without glitches - those who updated to Android 5.0 complained about the latter. We don’t know what they have there, but we didn’t notice any degradation in the quality of the device.

The only thing that somewhat blurs the impression is that it is not possible to make calls through cellular network. Let us remind you that the device is equipped with a 2G/3G/4G communication module, so theoretically it supports everything, but this function is blocked. Why Lenovo decided to become like Apple with its iPad is not clear - on the same Samsung tablets Galaxy Tab makes full calls available.

Conclusion

We liked the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L tablet. For its money, it offers excellent functionality and high performance, as well as high-quality workmanship and even pleasing to the eye design. The device really has a lot of advantages, the main ones being the screen with high resolution, good processor, decent autonomy.

Separately, it should be noted that it is possible to upgrade to Android 5.0. On the one hand, the 2015 tablet is more old version it would have been strange to see the system, but Lenovo figured it out in time and released an update. The shell has received a refreshed design and support for modern technologies.

We're more satisfied with the tablet's camera. It takes decent pictures in good lighting conditions, and the video it produces is quite good. The lack of flash is disappointing, but a 10-inch tablet is not a device with which you will go everywhere and take pictures of everything. But the video resolution of the front camera could still be made 1280x720.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L has no serious disadvantages. We have just announced one of them - low resolution video shooting from the front camera. The second drawback is that it is not possible to make calls over the mobile network, despite the presence of the corresponding module. It’s clear that few people use this on a tablet, but still, why give up this function?

But the best thing about the Lenovo tablet is its price.

Price Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L

You can buy Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L for 18 thousand rubles. The price is quite small, you will agree. For that kind of money with similar characteristics, and even from a well-known brand, you simply won’t find anything. In general, the segment of tablets costing more than 15 thousand rubles with a diagonal of 9-10" is practically empty. In addition to the product reviewed, we found only one analogue, which was mentioned more than once above.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 sells for 21 thousand rubles, if you take the 4G version, while the Wi-Fi-only version is available for 19 thousand. The tablet comes with Android 5.0 out of the box, has 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal flash memory, 5 MP main camera and 2 MP front camera. But what is most depressing is the low resolution of the 9.7-inch PLS screen (analogous to the IPS matrix from Samsung) - 1024x768 pixels. You don't have to be an expert to see that it lags behind the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L in almost all respects.

We couldn’t find any other competitors, especially at about the same price. Samsung Galaxy Tab E costs 16 thousand, but it is noticeably worse in all respects. ASUS ZenPad 10 looks good, but it also costs a step lower, considering its price of 12 thousand rubles. A step higher relative to the Lenovo tablet are devices from 28-30 thousand rubles, such as Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet and Apple iPad Air both generations.

Pros:

  • low price for its characteristics;
  • update to Android 5.0 available;
  • good screen with the possibility of customization;
  • fast 64-bit processor;
  • stylish design;
  • loud sound with support for advanced settings from Dolby;
  • high-quality assembly;
  • good camera for a tablet;
  • good autonomy.

Minuses:

  • it is not possible to make calls via the mobile network;
  • low video resolution of the front camera;
  • no headphones or headsets included.

The main peak in popularity of tablets already passed two years ago, despite the fact that the category of devices itself has not yet existed for ten years. However, this does not mean that there are no suitable devices on the market for every taste and budget. There are simply only those manufacturers left who are willing to experiment and work for a limited number of consumers. Lenovo is considered one of the largest. This company makes devices in all price categories– from ultra-budget to flagship, but at the same time sold at more reasonable prices.

A review of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L 16GB (or 32gb) tablet will introduce us to a device that is already two years old in 2017, but judging by the reviews, this does not lose its attractiveness, as in terms of its characteristics, and so are the prices. The latter, by the way, was quite tempting at the start of sales, but now, on the wave of new devices in the manufacturer’s line, it will please anyone.

Appearance and dimensions

The Lenovo 16gb device comes in two color options – white and dark blue. In the last frame around the screen black. The manufacturer has made several hints to consumers on how it is advisable to use this tablet. First of all, this is, of course, the aspect ratio of the screen. 16:10 in vertical orientation is only convenient for browsing the Internet. For all other use scenarios, a landscape location is more preferable. This is also indicated by the logo along with the front camera, located on the long side, as well as the headphone jack on the edge above them. Accordingly, starting from this, the volume control and screen lock buttons with slots for SIM and microSD cards are now on the short left side. If, given this arrangement of control elements, you hold the tablet vertically, you might really think that you have got a defect.

In terms of size, Lenovo 16gb (and 32gb) is nothing outstanding. About 250 millimeters in length, 170 in height and 9 mm in thickness. Once upon a time this was the golden mean, but now, during minimization, the device can seem really large. Plus, it weighs a little more half a kilogram, which, according to reviews, is not entirely convenient.

The frames, on the one hand, are too big, but on the other hand, they are made deliberately for comfortable play and a strong grip.

The assembly of the device cannot be called ideal. . There are creaks back cover flexes, minimal twisting is felt. But it's the dimensions that are to blame. Making such a large tablet look monolithic requires extra effort, which is unlikely to be justified by the price. The review only demonstrates the features of some characteristics that additionally need to be assessed in the context of personal use.

The display is the main advantage of the tablet

Obviously, the main advantage of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L can be considered the screen. Manufacturers have realized for quite some time that this is what they need to do main focus. You can use a compromise camera and make the tablet a little larger in size, but if the picture is not pleasant enough, the consumer will not forgive. This device has a 10.1-inch IPS display. The resolution is even higher than Full HD – 1920x1200. But this is a feature of the aspect ratio. Plus, given that there are only operating system software buttons, these extra pixels are very appropriate.

Density is 224 ppi, which is very good for a 10-inch tablet, especially considering its price. However, the disadvantage of Lenovo 16gb (32gb) can be considered the extra air layer between the protective glass and the display itself. It does not greatly affect viewing angles and other characteristics, but if it were removed, phenomenal results could be achieved.

For fastidious users, there is a MiraVision utility that can be used to additional settings screen.

Next important point– brightness. The maximum value is enough for any conditions. This is not a record, but exactly what the tablet, which was originally intended as a home device, needs. But at least it's a little annoying. It is too high, and reading in the dark will be uncomfortable. No light sensor.

There is no exact data on what exactly this successful display protects. Either good glass or very good plastic. In any case, the operating results are positive, and this is exactly what we need. But unfortunately, no oleophobic coating– this means that sometimes you may experience inconvenience when interacting with touch panel. And there will be more fingerprints than usual.

Performance and memory

Many leave the review of the hardware platform to the end, but this is not entirely true, because it determines how much all the delights of the screen can be manifested in high-quality video and demanding games. How many programs can be kept in memory, and how they will work in general.

Chinese processor – MediaTek MT8732. 64-bit architecture with 4 Cortex-A53 cores. The graphics chip is a more productive Mali-T760 MP2, which, alas, does not work at all full power along with this CPU.

2 GB of RAM was a good indicator for its time, but now, given the fact that this is a 10-inch tablet, it can make you experience difficulties. There will probably be enough volume for all modern applications, but when you switch them, each will be unloaded and launched from scratch. Another 1 GB would not be superfluous.

Benchmarks and practice show that in the process of working with the tablet interface and basic programs there are no problems, but when it comes to games - the time for compromise comes.

Top-end Asphalt 8, World of Tanks Blitz, Modern Combat 5, Dead Trigger 2 will need to be adjusted to get the desired number of frames per second. Or be content with the stuttering that comes with good graphics. And again, to understand the features of one review is not enough - you need to test it yourself.

There are modifications of the device with 16 and 32 GB of internal memory. Considering that not the full volume is available to the user, the indicator is too small. Although it is expanding microSD cards. But Android features 5.0 does not allow applications to be transferred to them completely. With an OS update, this drawback could be ignored.

Sound

Returning to the design for a second, it’s worth saying that the only attractive design solution remains the speaker grille, located on the rear panel on both sides of the camera. This is the usual perforation, which seems to crumble around the edges. But, again, the fact that the speaker output occupies the entire width of the tablet is not an accident. The Lenovo device contains several emitters at once, forming a kind of sound system. And in practice it really shows itself well. The only negative is the direction of sound from user. But, on the other hand, the device can be used as a replacement portable speaker average price segment. Dolby ATMOS technology is responsible for the overall good quality sound, and in addition allows you to create separate profiles for movies, music, and so on. Of course, all these features apply to headphones.

Cameras

Subjectively and according to user reviews, this is one of the most useless features in any tablet. Probably, many consumers would agree to abolish it altogether, and for the same price get extra memory or best display. But this can also be called a certain basic set, which no manufacturer can do without. This device has two cameras: the main one is 8 MP and the front one is 5 MP. Both are of average quality. And they are only suitable for situational shooting. You shouldn't even expect any artistry. I'm glad that there are settings in which, in good lighting, theoretically, you can get at least something.

operating system

Since, as already mentioned, the device is quite old, it runs on Android 4.4 OS. But right now you can update it to 5.0.1 right out of the box. Hardly to be expected further development. Of course, all this is complemented by the vision of the company's engineers, which is called Lenovo Vibe UI. Not everyone likes shells Chinese manufacturers. There is less of it here than it was before, but it still catches your eye.

Autonomy and interfaces

Battery – 7000 mAh. An excellent indicator that will give about 12 hours of operation without recharging. Given this, even the four hours it takes to restore the charge to 100% may seem quite normal.

Of course, there are no problems with interfaces.

  • dual-band Wi-Fi;
  • bluetooth 4.0;
  • LTE support;
  • GPS, GLONASS;
  • Possibility of OTG connection via USB connector.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros:

  • excellent screen;
  • excellent autonomy;
  • high-quality sound;
  • 3G and LTE support.

Minuses:

  • android 5.0;
  • compromise CPU;
  • lack of oleophobic screen coating.
  • Not enough internal memory.

conclusions

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L is a significantly outdated tablet that has a number of disadvantages associated precisely with its age and features that were relevant at the time of release. If you close your eyes to them, you get a completely balanced device that will perform well in everyday use; will give a good picture and will work for a really long time.
