Fair, not overpriced and not underestimated. There should be prices on the Service website. Necessarily! without asterisks, clear and detailed, where technically possible - as accurate and concise as possible.

If spare parts are available, up to 85% of complex repairs can be completed in 1-2 days. Modular repairs require much less time. The website shows the approximate duration of any repair.

Warranty and responsibility

A guarantee must be given for any repairs. Everything is described on the website and in the documents. The guarantee is self-confidence and respect for you. A 3-6 month warranty is good and sufficient. It is needed to check quality and hidden defects that cannot be detected immediately. You see honest and realistic terms (not 3 years), you can be sure that they will help you.

Half the success in Apple repair is the quality and reliability of spare parts, so a good service works directly with suppliers, there are always several reliable channels and your own warehouse with proven spare parts for current models, so you don’t have to waste extra time.

Free diagnostics

This is very important and has already become a rule of good manners for service center. Diagnostics is the most difficult and important part of the repair, but you don't have to pay a penny for it, even if you don't repair the device based on its results.

Service repairs and delivery

Good service values your time, so he offers free shipping. And for the same reason, repairs are carried out only in the workshop of a service center: they can be done correctly and according to technology only in a prepared place.

Convenient schedule

If the Service works for you, and not for itself, then it is always open! absolutely. The schedule should be convenient to fit in before and after work. Good service works on weekends and holidays. We are waiting for you and working on your devices every day: 9:00 - 21:00

The reputation of professionals consists of several points

Company age and experience

Reliable and experienced service has been known for a long time.
If a company has been on the market for many years and has managed to establish itself as an expert, people turn to it, write about it, and recommend it. We know what we are talking about, since 98% of incoming devices in the service center are restored.
Other service centers trust us and refer complex cases to us.

How many masters in areas

If there are always several engineers waiting for you for each type of equipment, you can be sure:
1. there will be no queue (or it will be minimal) - your device will be taken care of right away.
2. you give your Macbook for repair to an expert in the field of Mac repairs. He knows all the secrets of these devices

Technical literacy

If you ask a question, a specialist should answer it as accurately as possible.
So that you can imagine what exactly you need.
They will try to solve the problem. In most cases, from the description you can understand what happened and how to fix the problem.

When purchasing a flash drive, many people ask the question: “how to choose the right flash drive.” Of course, choosing a flash drive is not so difficult if you know exactly for what purpose it is being purchased. In this article I will try to give a complete answer to the question posed. I decided to write only about what to look for when buying.

A flash drive (USB drive) is a drive designed for storing and transferring information. The flash drive works very simply without batteries. You just need to connect it to the USB port of your PC.

1. Flash drive interface

On this moment There are 2 interfaces: USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. If you decide to buy a flash drive, then I recommend taking a flash drive with a USB 3.0 interface. This interface was made recently, it main feature is high speed data transmission. We'll talk about speeds a little lower.

This is one of the main parameters that you need to look at first. Now flash drives from 1 GB to 256 GB are sold. The cost of a flash drive will directly depend on the amount of memory. Here you need to immediately decide for what purpose you are buying a flash drive. If you are going to store it text documents, then 1 GB will be enough. For downloading and transferring movies, music, photos, etc. you need to take the more, the better. Today, the most popular flash drives are from 8GB to 16GB.

3. Housing material

The body can be made of plastic, glass, wood, metal, etc. Most flash drives are made of plastic. I can’t give any advice here; it all depends on the buyer’s preferences.

4. Data transfer rate

Earlier I wrote that there are two standards: USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. Now I will explain how they differ. The USB 2.0 standard has read speeds of up to 18 Mbit/s and write speeds of up to 10 Mbit/s. The USB 3.0 standard has a read speed of 20-70 Mbit/s, and a write speed of 15-70 Mbit/s. Here, I think, there is no need to explain anything.

Now you can find flash drives in stores different forms and sizes. They can be in the form of jewelry, fancy animals, etc. Here I would advise taking flash drives that have a protective cap.

6. Password protection

There are flash drives that have a password protection feature. Such protection is carried out using a program that is located in the flash drive itself. The password can be set both on the entire flash drive and on part of the data in it. Such a flash drive will primarily be useful to people who transfer corporate information to it. According to the manufacturers, if you lose it, you don’t have to worry about your data. Not so simple. If such a flash drive falls into the hands of an understanding person, then hacking it is just a matter of time.

These flash drives look very beautiful, but I would not recommend buying them. Because they are very fragile and often break in half. But if you are a neat person, then feel free to take it.

Conclusion

As you noticed, there are many nuances. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. In my opinion, the most important parameters when choosing are: the standard of the flash drive, the capacity and speed of writing and reading. And everything else: design, material, options - this is just everyone’s personal choice.

Good afternoon, my dear friends. In today's article I want to talk about how to choose the right mouse pad. When buying a rug, many people do not attach any importance to this. But as it turned out, this point needs to be given special attention, because... The mat determines one of the indicators of comfort while working at a PC. For avid gamer Choosing a rug is a completely different story. Let's look at what types of mouse pads have been invented today.

Mat options

1. Aluminum
2. Glass
3. Plastic
4. Rubberized
5. Double sided
6. Helium

And now I would like to talk about each type in more detail.

1. First I want to consider three options at once: plastic, aluminum and glass. These rugs are very popular among gamers. For example, plastic mats are easier to find on sale. The mouse glides quickly and accurately on these mats. And most importantly, these mouse pads are suitable for both laser and optical mice. Aluminum and glass mats will be a little harder to find. Yes, and they will cost a lot. True, there is a reason for this - they will serve for a very long time. These types of rugs have minor flaws. Many people say that they rustle when operating and are a little cool to the touch, which may cause discomfort for some users.

2. Rubberized (rag) mats have soft sliding, but the accuracy of their movements is worse. For ordinary users, such a mat will be just right. And they are much cheaper than the previous ones.

3. Double-sided mouse pads, in my opinion, are a very interesting type of mouse pad. As the name suggests, these rugs have two sides. Typically, one side is high-speed and the other is high-precision. It happens that each side is designed for a specific game.

4. Helium mats have a silicone cushion. She supposedly supports the hand and relieves tension from it. For me personally, they turned out to be the most inconvenient. According to their intended purpose, they are designed for office workers, since they sit at the computer all day long. These mats are not suitable for casual users and gamers. The mouse glides very poorly on the surface of such mouse pads, and their accuracy is not the best.

Mat sizes

There are three types of rugs: large, medium and small. Here everything primarily depends on the taste of the user. But as is commonly believed, large rugs are good for games. Small and medium ones are taken mainly for work.

Rugs design

In this regard, there are no restrictions. It all depends on what you want to see on your rug. Fortunately, now they don’t draw anything on rugs. The most popular are logos computer games, such as Dota, Warcraft, ruler, etc. But if it happened that you couldn’t find a rug with the pattern you wanted, don’t be upset. Now you can order a print on a rug. But such mats have a disadvantage: when printing is applied to the surface of the mat, its properties deteriorate. Design in exchange for quality.

This is where I want to end the article. On my own behalf I wish to do you right choice and be happy with it.
For anyone who doesn’t have a mouse or wants to replace it with another one, I advise you to look at the article:.

Monoblocks Microsoft have been replenished with a new all-in-one model called Surface Studio. Microsoft recently presented its new product at an exhibition in New York.

On a note! I wrote an article a couple of weeks ago where I reviewed the Surface all-in-one. This candy bar was presented earlier. To view the article, click on.

Design

Microsoft calls its new product the world's thinnest candy bar. Weighing 9.56 kg, the thickness of the display is only 12.5 mm, the remaining dimensions are 637.35x438.9 mm. The display dimensions are 28 inches with a resolution greater than 4K (4500x3000 pixels), aspect ratio 3:2.

The prices of the new products will be as follows: 128 GB - $64, 256 GB - $93, 512 GB - $153, 1 TB - $337. I think in Russia they will cost more.

Lenovo presented its new gaming all-in-one IdeaCentre Y910 at Gamescom 2016.

On a note! Previously, I wrote an article where I already reviewed gaming monoblocks from different manufacturers. This article You can view it by clicking on this one.

The new product from Lenovo received a frameless display measuring 27 inches. The display resolution is 2560x1440 pixels (this is QHD format), the refresh rate is 144 Hz, and the response time is 5 ms.

The monoblock will have several configurations. The maximum configuration includes a 6 processor Intel generation Core i7, volume hard drive up to 2 TB or 256 GB. Volume random access memory equal to 32 GB DDR4. Will be responsible for graphics NVIDIA video card GeForce GTX 1070 or GeForce GTX 1080 with Pascal architecture. Thanks to such a video card, it will be possible to connect a virtual reality helmet to the candy bar.
From the periphery of the candy bar, I would highlight the Harmon Kardon audio system with 5-watt speakers, the Killer DoubleShot Pro Wi-Fi module, a webcam, USB ports 2.0 and 3.0, HDMI connectors.

In its basic version, the IdeaCentre Y910 monoblock will go on sale in September 2016 at a price of 1,800 euros. But the candy bar with the “VR-ready” version will appear in October at a price of 2,200 euros. It is known that this version will contain GeForce video card GTX 1070.

MediaTek has decided to upgrade its Helio X30 mobile processor. So now the developers from MediaTek are designing a new mobile processor called Helio X35.

I would like to briefly talk about Helio X30. This processor has 10 cores, which are combined into 3 clusters. Helio X30 has 3 variations. The first - the most powerful - consists of Cortex-A73 cores with a frequency of up to 2.8 GHz. There are also units with Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz and Cortex-A35 with a frequency of 2.0 GHz.

New processor Helio X35 also has 10 cores and is created using 10-nanometer technology. The clock frequency in this processor will be much higher than that of its predecessor and ranges from 3.0 Hz. The new product will allow you to use up to 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The graphics in the processor will most likely be handled by the Power VR 7XT controller.
The station itself can be seen in the photographs in the article. In them we can see storage compartments. One bay has a 3.5" jack and the other has a 2.5" jack. Thus, it will be possible to connect to the new station as solid state drive(SSD) and HDD(HDD).

The dimensions of the Drive Dock station are 160x150x85mm, and the weight is no less than 970 grams.
Many people probably have a question about how the Drive Dock connects to a computer. I answer: this happens through the USB port 3.1 Gen 1. According to the manufacturer, the sequential read speed will be 434 MB/s, and in write mode (sequential) 406 MB/s. The new product will be compatible with Windows and Mac OS.

This device will be very useful for people who work with photo and video materials at a professional level. Drive Dock can also be used for backup copies files.
The price for the new device will be acceptable - it is $90.

On a note! Previously, Renduchinthala worked for Qualcomm. And since November 2015, he moved to a competing company, Intel.

In his interview, Renduchintala did not talk about mobile processors, but only said the following, I quote: “I prefer to talk less and do more.”
Thus, the Intel top manager created great intrigue with his interview. We can only wait for new announcements in the future.

Apple's legendary Macintosh turns 30 today.

Over the years, the popular computer has taken on different shapes and sizes, constantly improving both externally and internally. Created by the acclaimed genius Steve Jobs, Mac computers have become one of the most iconic achievements of Apple and the technology world as a whole. Mashable traced the path of Mac “becoming” - from bulky “dinosaurs” to modern ultra-thin iMacs and MacBooks.

1. Lisa

In 1983, Apple presented its very first computer based on GUI— Apple Lisa, named after Steve Jobs' daughter. It took more than 3 years and about 50 million dollars to create. The price tag was appropriate - about $10,000, which was beyond the means of most buyers and therefore the project turned out to be a failure from a financial point of view. Even though Lisa is not technically a Mac, there is no doubt that it had a huge influence on the first Mac, which was introduced on January 24, 1984.

2. Macintosh XL

To compensate for the Lisa's modest success, in 1985 Apple redesigned the model, changed the name to Macintosh XL and lowered the price to $3,495.

3. Macintosh 128K

Introduced in 1984, the Macintosh 128K was the very first personal computer Macintosh in history and sold for $2,495. The 9-inch screen, 128 KB of RAM, and revolutionary usability marked the beginning of the long history of the Macintosh.

4. Macintosh 512K

Immediately after 128, there was512 was released - essentially the same in appearance, but with four times more memory.

5. Macintosh Plus

At the beginning of 1986, the world meets the Macintosh Plus. It came with 1MB of RAM and cost about $2,599. It also had a SCSI port, which meant the user could connect additional hard drives.

6. Macintosh Portable

The first battery-powered Mac was released in 1989. At one time it was considered quite fast, having a frequency of 16 MHz. But even this did not help him become widely popular. Maybe because he weighed almost 7 kg?

7.Powerbook

Another thing! The Powerbook came out a few years later, in 1991, and, thanks to its light weight, became Apple's first truly portable computer. The floppy drive (remember floppy disks?) was external. The line existed until 2006. By the way, in the series “Sex and the City,” the main character Carrie Bradshaw wrote most of her notes on a Powerbook G3.

8.iMac

Just look at this computer - it looks more like a bubble gum bubble! The iMac debuted in 1998 and became the first big project after Steve Jobs returned to the post of head of Apple. Transparent and bright, the iMac was also a bold step forward because it replaced the use of floppy disks with USB ports.

9. iMac G4

The iMac G4 has captured the hearts of tech enthusiasts with its flexibility and incredibly flat display. Thanks to the metal “leg”, the monitor could be moved at almost any angle. At his presentation, which Steve Jobs gave in 2002, the audience could not hold back your emotions.

10.MacBook

Apple introduced the first MacBook in 2006. His distinctive features steel built-in iSight webcam, a bright and contrasting LCD display, as well as a keyboard that effectively complements the case.

11.MacBook Air

The “Holy Grail” of modern MacBooks is, of course, MacBook Air. Apple's thinnest invention and also the thinnest laptop in the world. Jobs introduced it to the public in 2008 and since then the line has been regularly updated, keeping up with the times. The very first MacBook Air was equipped hard drive 80 GB and bright LED backlight.

12. iMac today

Thinner and larger than ever before, the modern iMac includes just a monitor and a wireless keyboard and mouse. The latest 27-inch models are equipped powerful processors Intel and Fusion Drives, which combine a hard drive and a solid-state drive (flash memory).

Appearance new iPhone causes heated discussion in society. Even people who are not interested in this topic have an idea of new products.

The iMac doesn't have that kind of fame. And this despite the fact that Apple first released these devices back in 19988.

In 2009, the penultimate generation of iMac was announced. A little over 3 years have passed. Therefore, the recently released iMac will certainly surprise everyone with the most unexpected surprises.

First meeting

Design

The packaging of the new iMac device is very interesting. If you get your hands on it correctly, no one will even guess what’s inside so small and super lightweight device could accommodate the computer. The highlight of this computer are its minimum dimensions. If we compare this model with the previous generation iMac, its volume has decreased by as much as 40%, the thickness of the case is no more than 5 mm. Even a smartphone is thicker.

The ends are even thinner than the iPhone. But at the same time, you need to take into account that the new The iMac is convex at the back, so it's not the same thickness everywhere. It is impossible to even imagine how such a thin body of this shape could be developed. It is quite understandable that the developers resorted to many tricks. So, due to the shape of the case, the connector for the power cable had to be bent. Optical drive iMac no longer has (the presence of the Internet allows you to get by just fine without it).

Using friction rotary welding, the back and front of the iMac are securely attached to each other. What is noteworthy: directly in the metal lower part there are cutouts - they contain the speakers. The hole for the cable is made in the iMac stand. Most of the connectors are located on the back of its case:

ports for USB 3 (4 pieces);

for SDXC memory cards – slot;

– Gigabit Ethernet port;

for headphones – 3.5 mm jack (branded Apple headsets are supported).

Currently, iMac manufacturers produce two types: with diagonals of 27 and 21.5 inches. For iMac 27 model″ In this generation, Apple manufacturers did not support VESA mounts - that is, hanging the device on the wall will no longer work. Plus the weight of the iMac 27only 9.5 kg, the same weight as the previous generation iMac 21.5″. Therefore, moving it from place to place will not be difficult. The new iMac 21.5 model″ – much lighter, weighing only 5.7 kg.

Let's look at the iMac 21.5 today″ – younger model. Although calling it “junior” is not entirely appropriate - these computers have completely different positioning. The version equipped with a 27-inch display is an excellent computer for the home living room; it is an excellent arrangement for a work area in a comfortable room. iMac 21.5 modelMore suitable for the office - this handy tool will last for many years. Although this is a matter of taste for each user.

The iMac is loved by many designers. And all thanks to the magnificence appearance and shapes where metal and glass are harmoniously combined. And, indeed, the iMac will appeal to many. After all, the device looks very beautiful in appearance and, thanks to its small dimensions, will perfectly complement any interior.

Display

If you look at the many parameters of the iMac display, you can be convinced of their perfection. The IPS matrix of the computer, covered with glass, is of high quality. The LED lighting system is located directly under the glass. The entire screen area between the backlight system and the glass is laminated, so there is no gap. The absence of such a gap gives a simply amazing effect - it seems that the image is located directly in the room, and not on the device’s display. Therefore, many users usually change the picture on their desktop quite often in order to enjoy the quality of the picture and its colors.

Reference screen quality

A special protective layer on the screen significantly reduces glare. For this coating, innovative plasma spraying technology was used for the first time. It is similar to the technology used to coat the glasses of aviation helmets and the lenses of super high-quality lenses. Thanks to modern developments, the protective layer has become almost weightless - just a few atoms, so the iMac glass not only does not impair color reproduction, but also reliably protects against reflections and reflections. Now new iMac Glare reflections have been reduced by 75%.

iMac 21.5 resolution″ – 1080x1920 pixels, iMac 27″ – 1440x2560 pixels.

Inclusion

iMac comes with a mouse Magic Mouse and keyboard (wireless). To get started, you need to connect your iMac to the network, then turn on the mouse and keyboard - the computer will instantly recognize them. After this, a simple setup wizard - and the computer can be used. Work and relax at the same time.

What’s very convenient is that the Magic Trackpad is supported by iMac. This will please those users who are used to working with a laptop’s touch pad MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.

Is it possible to make a monitor out of an iMac?

Most laptop users are interested in using such a gorgeous display in previous iMac models.

Today this is quite possible - you just need to connect your laptop to your iMac using a Thunderbolt cable. Then press a certain key combination (Fn+CMD+F2). Thanks to this, the transition to Target Display Mode is carried out. And that’s it – the image from the laptop appears on the iMac. This function will undoubtedly be appreciated by all users of Apple devices (note that this function is only suitable for Apple devices and not for any others).

Sound

Row portable devices Apple has undergone changes in sound. Such changes affected the new iPad (from the third generation onwards), MacBook Pro with Retina display, and the new iMac. Now you don't need to connect an external sound system– built-in speakers provide clear, bassy, bright sound.

Similar to others Apple devices, the iMac model has one more characteristic feature– to improve quality, two microphones are used when transmitting speech (similar to FaceTime and others Skype programs). That is, in a quiet room you can speak almost in a whisper without straining, this is very convenient.

Another feature of video chatting with iMac is the presence of a FaceTime camera with HD video support. Thanks to this, the sound quality is much higher than that of previous iMac models. Moreover, you can make FaceTime calls from any iOS device or Apple computer. Don't forget that you can now send iMessage via SMS to your iPad or friends' phones from your iMac. Don't forget about the function in OS X, in the "Applications" folder of the iMac there is "Messages" - take advantage of their services.

Power

iMacs with different displays have slightly different capabilities. Consider the iMac 21.5″ . The model is presented in two modifications, with a processor:

Intel Core i5, 2.7 GHz clock speed (acceleration up to 3.2 GHz Turbo Boost);

– Intel Core i 5, 2.9 GHz clock frequency (acceleration up to 3.6 GHz Turbo Boost).

Standard installed: 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, 1 TB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M or GT 640M processors.

The power of the iMac allows you to solve ordinary problems: calculations, games, video and photo processing, modeling. All functions are non-negotiable - they work perfectly, without freezes or brakes. Mac Store App Store offers new programs - game lovers will be especially delighted; new versions of “Civilization” and Call of Duty await them here: Black Ops and others specifically designed for OS X.

Two in one: new iMac and previous generation

For super advanced users, it makes sense to order a special iMac model, equipped with a fast processor, hybrid Fusion Drive and increased memory capacity up to 16 GB. This is the latest development from Apple; it combines a traditional hard drive and solid state SSD drive, the data is distributed between them in automatic mode. Rare data will be on the hard drive, and those that are used frequently will be on the SSD. That is why the cost of a hard drive is not much different from the cost of a Fusion Drive, but the performance of the latter is much higher than that of an SSD drive.

Noise

The noise level of the new iMac deserves special attention. Everyone is used to the fact that a laptop and system unit Makes decent sounds, especially when loading games. Many people are already accustomed to the crackling of the hard drive and the hum of the fan. Some users are trying to find ways to reduce such sounds. The iMac is fine with noise - even when running a large Call of Duty game, no sound is heard. In fact, the iMac can be called the quietest desktop computer.

Modern model

Apple's view of modern computer development is reflected in the iMac - the design of the model goes hand in hand with performance, new technologies are used, thanks to which every millimeter of the device is conquered. Today, iMac improves Fusion Drive, monitor, display, performance and sound.

iMac real computer modernity

Not everyone agrees with the decision regarding the iMac's minimum dimensions. Without this home or office computer could do without. But the change in the location of the iMac does not cause any complaints.

The new iMac model embodies all the innovative developments that manufacturers have been pursuing for many years: ease of connection and configuration, low noise, the advantages of the display - it seems to go beyond its limits, creating an unusual picture.

But not only the above reasons will be the primary ones when choosing a new iMac - it is also reliable in operation. It will work without failures or complaints and will work for many years, delighting users with its capabilities.

We dedicate our today's issue to one of the most important computer models in the line. It is customary to say about this car that it was she who saved Apple company, which was rapidly sliding into the abyss. After his return to the company he founded, Steve Jobs radically changed the entire model range, abandoning the implementation of some old projects and starting to create new ones. The first successful fruit of his painstaking work after returning to Apple was a computer that breathed new life into the company and produced another revolution. Today we'll talk about iMac.

This was perhaps the biggest bet Steve Jobs made in his career. Eighteen months after his return to Apple as interim chief executive, a large press crowd gathered at the Flynt Auditorium on May 6, 1998 to witness the next evolution of the Mac line. It became the most daring, stylish and non-standard-looking computer, made according to the “all-in-one” principle. Dressed in transparent plastic case Blue in color and loaded with modern Internet capabilities, the iMac was the first computer that truly felt personal. As time passes, it will become apparent that it forever changed Apple, the computer industry, and everyone who ever had the opportunity to use it.

iMac G3

According to rumors, Jobs categorically did not like the name iMac, and he decided to agree to it only after the computers had already started rolling off the production line. However, it is difficult to imagine that it could be called anything else. The letter “i,” as it was said at the presentation, denoted five components: internet (Internet), individual (individuality), instruct (training), inform (information) and inspire (inspiration). The original computer model, called the Bondi Blue iMac, became the epitome of Apple's Think Different advertising campaign and was designed to give the user "the delight of surfing the Internet with the simplicity of the Macintosh."

While the first iMac didn't have any revolutionary components, its list of specifications was quite impressive. The $1,299 model featured a 233MHz G3 processor, 512MB of RAM with L2 cache, 32MB of RAM, ATI Rage IIc graphics card, 4GB hard drive, CD-ROM drive with a tray, two USB ports, stereo speakers, a stylish mouse, a nice keyboard and a 15-inch CRT display. And all this was enclosed in a translucent blue plastic case. As soon as colorful iMacs began to take over the market, consumers began to abandon boring beige machines and opt for a variety of colors.

However, the Bondi Blue color wasn't everyone's cup of tea, and in 1999 (after a minor graphics card upgrade to support OS 8.5), Steve took the iMac "to a whole other level." The computer now gave users the ability to “express themselves in new ways” and was available in five colors named after fruits: Strawberry, Blueberry, Lime, Grape and Tangerine. To make the machines even more attractive, their processors received an additional 33 megahertz, and the price was reduced by $100.

However, the matter was not limited to just expanding the palette and a slight increase in productivity. In October, Jobs unveiled the iMac DV, the first machines to feature FireWire ports, wireless connectivity, and a DVD-ROM drive. In addition, the new Aimaks received a 400 MHz processor, as well as a special, more productive version, which was painted in the same Graphite color as its older brother Power Mac. In July 2000, at the Macworld New York conference, four new models were presented, offered in new color options, running on processors up to 500 MHz frequencies and costing from $799 to $1,499: iMac (Indigo), iMac DV (Indigo, Ruby) , iMac DV+ (Indigo, Ruby, Sage) and iMac DV SE (Graphite and Snow).

In February 2001, everyone, including Jobs himself, already understood that the iMac in the form in which it appeared three years ago had already outlived its usefulness, and changes were required. However, this time he again managed to convince the public of the logic of the “Rip, Mix, Burn” campaign, which accompanied the release of the new generation of iMac. However, when new models arrived in the Blue Dalmatian and Flower Power color options, it was clear that a major update to the line was to be expected in the future. By the way, the 700 MHz iMacs presented at Macworld New York 2001 can be bought on eBay today for $75 and you will be surprised that they can still run many versions of OS X, up to Tiger. So if you're feeling nostalgic or just want an elegant, high-tech fish tank, you might want to consider this option. The $799 iMac with a 600MHz processor and Snow color scheme remained on sale until March 2003, when it was replaced by the white and chrome eMac G4.

iMac G4

In 2002, Time magazine was able to somewhat dispel the veil of secrecy that usually surrounds the development of new Apple products. But even if he had managed to send his messenger to the Cupertino laboratory and spread a leak, seasoned with a large number of spy photos, before the premiere, it is unlikely that even in this case the public would have been prepared for what Steve Jobs demonstrated to them at Macworld San Francisco. A flat screen hinged to a chrome stand and a white base – the iMac G4 clearly lacked originality. In fact, his presence in your room made the latter seem more like some kind of modern art museum. Here's what was written about it in the mentioned magazine:

As Steve Jobs walked through the huge vegetable garden and apricot grove grown by Jobs' wife Laurene, Steve described his ideal new car. “Each element must remain itself,” he said. “Why do we need a flat screen if we’re going to attach all this stuff to the back of it?” Why put your computer next to your monitor if you really want it to be horizontal or on the floor? Let each element be itself and be true to itself.” According to Jobs, new computer should not look like the first iMac, but rather like flowers in the garden: “Make it look like a sunflower.”

Following the boss’s behest and taking into account his insatiable thirst for perfection, Ive designed the iMac G4, which not only received a unique design, but was also equipped with the most powerful G4 processor at that time with a frequency of 800 MHz. Featuring an optional SuperDrive, plenty of pro ports, and a stunning widescreen display that “heralded the era of flat-panel monitors,” the iMac G4 was no longer a garish color, but an eye-catcher that looked more like a work of art than a computer. Offered in three identical models ranging from $1,299 (CD-RW, 700 MHz G4, 128 MB RAM, 40 GB hard drive) to $1,799 (SuperDrive, 800 MHz G4, 256 MB RAM, 60 GB hard drive), The iMac G4 began to blur the line between consumer and professional and demonstrated one of the greatest advances in Apple history.

It didn't take a clairvoyant to guess that the computer was a sensation, with 150,000 models ordered in the first three weeks. And even despite the price increase of $100 due to an unexpected increase in the cost of memory and flat LCD panels, this sunflower computer continued its victorious march.
